Two of us arrived at 4:15 and were greeted and seated quickly. All the regular tables were occupied so we were given the option of a high top or outside seating. We chose outside. Unfortunately, the music level was too loud. We asked if there was still a high top available and they moved us inside. The music level inside was loud, but low enough we could converse a bit better. I ordered a pizza and the person with me order a grilled Chicken wrap and tater tots. This meal was good. I ordered the Cole Slaw and a pizza. Someone, (maybe the manager) brought the wrap and my Cole Slaw out and apologized that the pizza got burned and he did not want to serve m a burned pizza. I appreciate that. Lots of TVs in strategic locations. Restrooms were clean. Not sure what to say about the music. . . When we first arrived and sat down, the lyrics were "MF" this and that as well as sexual references. However, after that song, the genre changed and it was fine. Maybe they had not shifted to their "family- friendly" format they advertise online. I am giving them a 5-star rating because the things of concern to me can be addressed (if they choose). Overall, I hope they do very well and keep moving forward because it will be a nice gathering place. read more

I had wanted to try Kearney's for quite some time, as it is the latest from the Coyne family of restaurants, but I regret to say it was a horrendous experience. The service was severely lacking from the very start of our meal. As for the dishes we tried, the calamari was greasy and overly fried, though perhaps I just didn't appreciate that particular style. I also ordered the New York Reuben, which had a weird aftertaste--I have had many Reubens in my time, and this sandwich was simply not it. To end the night, we had to flag our non-existent server down just to get our bill. When it arrived, I noticed a 3% service fee, which made me wonder what actual service I was paying for. Needless to say, I did not tip. If restaurants want to charge service fees, they shouldn't expect the consumer to tip. Restaurant owners need to pick their poison and stop tacking on extra fees that are just part of the cost of doing business. read more

The food is pretty good. We got the chips and dip appetizer. Better to try something else. My husband ordered the grouper dinner which was good. I ordered the half salad and received a full-size salad. It was fresh but had too much onion for my taste. The restaurant is very noisy. Plan on sitting outside if you can. They specialize in reubens. They are large. Plan on splitting the sandwich with someone. We sat at the bar and service was very good. read more

Do not eat here. The staff was unprofessional, rude and the food was horrible. I ordered a classic Reuben, since this is an Irish Pub, I figured Rueben's would be their core business competency, and a Reuben would be their flagship menu item. I've had better Rueben's at an Arby's truck stop at Flying J along the Ohio Turnpike. This sandwich was $17.00. The marble rye bread was burned to a crisp. The corned beef was also burned, had no flavor, was loaded with gristle and over-salted. The sandwich was dry, like it sat for 20 minutes. It was so dry and burned to the point where it crumbled to pieces when I tried to eat it. There was hardly any sauerkraut and no sauce. The worst part about this, I told the waitress. She copped a major attitude and rolled her eyes when I mentioned it to her. The manager came over for a discussion. He was nice, but didn't seem to care. Ultimately, I wasn't charged for the Reuben and at least I was compensated. Maybe they had a bad day. But another couple sat next to us and had the same experience. Looked busy but got a seat at a bar, since there are a few. Great service what's your name Erica with Erica. He got the grouper and he's very particular about fish and he loved it. There's lots of green beans and potatoes with it- yummy . I got the chicken wrap which was huge and delicious and everything inside of it was cooked really well. The coleslaw was awesome. Oh, and we got the Smithwick red ale, which was delicious. We will be back! read more

This place is larger than it looks from the street and is very well theme decorated. I stopped in to order lunch on the go and I was greeted immediately by a very nice young lady who asked how she could help me. I ordered my lunch and had it completed to go in a timely manner. I had the classic cheese burger (made to order and for me that is extra well done) and fries and the burger was simply excellent! Definitely recommend Kearney's Irish Pub in Mentor. We went on Wednesday at 5:10 pm and had about 20 minute wait for a table for 4 people inside. It was very loud for my liking, and it seemed to clear out some after 7:00. Our server was good, answered our questions about the menu and gave us some suggestions, which I appreciate. The first thing I will say is that the servings are big portions. I got the grouper dinner and had 2 good size fillets with plenty of potatoes and green beans. It was very tasty. My friend got the fish and chips and she also got 2 big pieces of fish with plenty of fries and a good size bowl of coleslaw. The fish was very good with a light, crispy batter. Fries were ok and the coleslaw was a bit sweet for her liking. Her husband got a burger with fries which he said was ok, my husband got the NY Reuben with fries. His sandwich was large, and he said it was ok but he probably won't get it again. The prices were not bad for what you get. We will go back again. read more
