He said the special was chicken parmigiana so I thought I'd try it. He brought us a very nice bread with a tasty butter and olive oil mix. I ordered the chopped salad that I absolutely loved! There were lives of cauliflower, different types of olives and a pickled red onion that wasn't over bearingly strong. The chicken parmigiana was tasty. Two patties if chicken over fettuccini. I noticed on the way out that eggplant parmigiana was also a special. I might've had that if I'd known. I will definitely come back on a Tuesday to try the eggplant. Curious that my previous 8 year old review for the same physical location shows! Greetings from the hostess was awkward because one of the servers came up and was telling her where to seat us. Unfortunately we had requested a booth and the server told the hostess to give us to the other server. You know this was in front of us? Food was ok, our server was very good and helpful. The bread service was a standout and the salads were good. Spumoni was excellent. Piccata was not getting an up vote! Meatballs were very good. Short wine list well priced. First time visiting since new ownership. Overall place looks refreshed. Love the variety of china. Delicious bread with a great olive oil and butter dip. Our rice ball appetizer was very tasty. Enjoyed the half salad before dinner. The veal was excellent. Cooked perfectly with great flavor. Wife loved her shrimp pasta. Overall positive experience. I almost never comment on atmosphere of a restaurant. Food is of primary concern, but the reality is too apparent here. If you didn't know better and walked in the first time, you'd say, "This looks like a BBQ spot!" Of course, it was. Hanging a few doilies and Italian aperitif posters doesn't help. The delicate and frankly, pretty dishes are disconcerting against the rough and tumble tables and chairs place you in the wrong mindset. It just doesn't work. My Bolognese Cavatelli was very good, but my wife felt the Eggplant Parmigiana was simply a cheesy clump, the skin tough and stringy. An excellent bread service goes in the win column. Unfortunately, this was like eating quenelles and lobster on a paper plate washed down with Champagne in a plastic flute. read more

This place is a true hidden gem. Nestled in what looks like a small tiny house this spot is easy to miss if you aren't looking for it. Parking and entrance are located in the rear of the building. The menu is filled with incredible dishes, my personal favorites being the chicken parm, mussels and pepperoni pizza. They also have amazing specials every day of the week! We've always received great service and especially love the bartender Aubrey! This place gets slammed on Friday and Saturday so make sure to call ahead and secure a reservation. I am actually bummed to be giving this review because I used to love this place- so much so I actually ordered their food for catering for an office holiday party this past winter. Tonight I went in as a regular guest with my boyfriend and we sat at the bar. It was pretty dead, 5:00 on a Tuesday. We got the caprese salad - can't really mess that up, and then he got the vodka pasta (usually pretty good), and I got the chicken Marsala sub pasta. Our food comes out and they brought out chicken picatta for me, so I pointed it out and the bartender was nice at first and told me it was her mistake and took it back, but as she was walking back, the manager very loudly asked "well what was wrong with it?". That made us really uncomfortable because we were very respectful and not even upset about the mix up... 20 minutes later the brought out the chicken Marsala with barely any pasta, and a giant long black hair mixed in. The bartender also seemed to be very short with us at this point so I didn't even point this out. I won't be back and unfortunately I'm not going to use them for future catering. Very uncomfortable and pretty disgusting. read more

I had been to this location when it had been a couple of other restaurants, but this one was new to me. There was no online reservation, and the first time I called to make one for lunch, there was no answer during open hours. But I finally got through, and it turned out it wasn't needed. My eggplant parmesan plus arugula salad was delicious and large enough for leftovers. As described, the food was comforting. The service was also fine. We tried to dine on the patio (it faced Som so it was a little noisy) but the rain started so we moved inside. The decor is plain but comfortable. I recommend Cuoco Bella, but it's probably not special enough for a 5 to 10 mile drive for each of us. It's more of a neighborhood place. read more

Came here last week for a dinner with some golf-related friends from out-of-town. Spot came recommended, and I was anxious to give it a try! Not terribly busy when we arrived, and it stayed that way throughout the entire meal. Server was super-pleasant, but service (especially given the lack of patrons) was extremely slow. We only ordered dinner platters and drinks, no appetizers. I went with a two-meat combo platter, that came with one side, pickled veggies and some cole slaw. The mix of brisket / burnt ends and (wet) spare ribs contained some good quality meats that appeared to have been cooked in a smoker, but the portion sizes were definitely on the smaller size (see attached picture). Sauces were served on the side, on a plate full of paper cups and three different profiles...sweet, hot and a mustard based version. The baked mac-n-cheese was super gooey cooked in a small cast iron dish and baked to a golden brown on top, but not terribly flavorful and kinda heavy. The small cup of cole slaw was terribly dry, almost as if it did not have any dressing at all. Flavor-wise, I enjoyed the meats but the sides left a lot to be desired. Not sure I'm rushing back to this restaurant, but would maybe consider giving it another try. read more

You're coming here for the food, all was delicious and good prices (i rate on value). Cocktails menu looks good too. Patio is nice, but remember the setting is an old house, so the inside is tight. Ordered take out tonight. The restaurant Manager over stuffed the bags. They should have been doubled bag. Linguini dinner 3 of them leaked all over car and when I took the bag out they all fell in the driveway. Called restaurant to suggest don't over stuff bags and to double bag. So this does not happen again. Manager could care less of what I had say. The Manager on duty tonight has terrible customer service skills. Highly do not recommend! read more

Today was our first time trying this place and we all enjoyed our meals at Smokin Qs! All of our entrees were delicious. The service was very attentive and the interior was adorable. We started out trying to sit on the patio but had to move inside due to an aggressive bee . Haha The patio is very nice though! Here is the run down of what we had: Me: BBQ chicken quesadilla off of the appetizer menu as my meal minus the onions and pickles. It was DELICIOUS! I also had the brisket poutine. I enjoyed this as well but my eyes were bigger than my stomach. My husband: Chef Z's Fat Burger, 2 skinny patties, BBQ pulled pork, Shiner braised onions, American, mustard aioli, slaw, house pickles. His burger looked amazing and he said it was the best burger he has gotten in a long time. As his side, he had gotten the Fried Corn ( Cotija, chipotle, cilantro). This was good in terms of flavor because it is similar to elote but was not warm. Stepson #1: had the pulled pork sandwich and ate the whole thing! He is our picky eater so this was fantastic! He had fries as his side. Stepson #2: Had the combo platter with brisket and pulled pork and Mac n cheese as his side. He ate all of his food. We also got the following sides to share: Baked Bean (cassoulet) - this was the biggest miss of the entire meal in my opinion. It had a strange flavor to it that I can't put my finger on. Mac n cheese - this was just a meh for us. It was somewhat bland. Cornbread- absolutely delicious! Almost tasted like it had lemon or something in it. We also got desserts. Three brownies and the German chocolate cake. Next time we will likely pass on the desserts just because we were wayyyyy too full at the end of this meal. My husband and I had dinner at this restaurant on Saturday. The food was amazing, very authentic Italian. The caesar salad dressing was just like we had in Sicily a few months ago. A plate of Spaghetti and 2 meatballs was TWENTY SIX DOLLARS! AND no salad was included. If you want salad, it's extra, and it's not cheap! I had the cauliflower wings washed in sweet and Smokey barbecue sauce and with blue cheese on the side. Delicious. My husband got the Pick 3 with meat from the Village Butcher! Pork, Chicken and beef ribs. 3 sauces all unique and very tasty-sweet, smoky and hot. I saved room for dessert by getting the chopped salad which was good with the lime vinaigrette dressing. My husband shared a rib, pork, and chicken with me. I enjoyed all of them. The Brussels sprout side was terrific! Our waitress was great and was part of what made our experience so good. The atmosphere was enjoyable, a little loud but fun. The piece de resistance was the German Chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream and key lime pie for my husband! Both were excellent. read more

I was very disappointed from start to finish. The service was NOT great. It took forever to get our drinks. I asked for more bread, but it never arrived. The checks were incorrect at the end of the dinner. Now on to the food.... I was so excited to have some Italian food but after my first bite I was so disappointed. My food literally tasted like it was leftovers and it was overly salted. It did not taste fresh at all. It was one of the worst meatballs I've ever had in my life. There was cold air blowing on us throughout the dinner. We told the manager about it & she never even offered to move us or do anything about the freezing air blowing on us. MANAGEMENT'S RESPONSE: ABYSMAL! Post-meal concerns and shortcomings and no-excuses complaints were VERY defensively received and thrown back onto the customers, unfairly. Couldn't crack a smile. Couldn't cough up a modicum of any good, experienced, capable Manager's empathy and willingness to smoth over the bad experience in any way! Mouth was moving but MAJOR ATTITUDE AND INDIFFERENCE projected to all of us at our very poor experience. And when this was pointed out -- Why the indifference? -- we were advised to visit, with a hostile voice, the McRestaurant down the road. . All of this in the presence of a nonogentarian patron at our table. We could not exit that place fast enough, and we advise any prospective customers to Run! and pass by this poorly-managed tavern for their nearest McRestaurant instead ..... Great food, and in current strange times service was good. Only two waitresses were working this Saturday night and the tables turned over two times while we were there. The place was full. Drinks and apps came first. Then we ordered entrees. Helping serve were the hostess and the bartender. Everything went smoothly. The drink/wine list and local brews were extensive. For apps we chose the poutine-- fries with gravy on top, crispy fried shrimp and Brussel sprouts. All very good. The BBQ entrees were delicious. The meat was tender and juicy. Three of us ordered tacos. I got the pork belly tacos that had delicious meat with the toppings. Definitely recommend Smokin' Q's. It's our new favorite. The restaurant does not take reservations for parties under eight people, but they have a call ahead list. It's handicapped accessible, and has a huge parking lot out back. read more

I have been here many times and oddly enough have never had their BBQ. I am hooked on their salmon though! It's always perfectly prepared, well seasoned and outstanding. They have excellent salads which you can add a variety of protein to. My favorite is probably the kale waldorf with salmon added. They also have excellent tacos; I've tried many and none disappoint. My biggest surprise was how delicious their braised greens were! I am a tough critic of greens and these were unique and soooo tasty! The waiter told me to order greens and their cornbread next time and I think I will....if I can resist getting the salmon. Lol. read more

We just came home from winter in Naples Florida and ate tonight at Cuoco Bella. It is far superior to any Italian restaurants in Naples. At far less $$. I had the Sunday sauce pasta and it was perfect. My wife said her bolognese was also very good. I visited Smokin' Q's BBQ and Beer House for dinner on a Tuesday evening. I sat at the bar and ordered a two-meat BBQ platter (Brisket burnt ends and jalapeño sausage), which is served with their red cabbage slaw, pickles, red pickled onions, a side of crispy Brussel sprouts, and I ordered an extra side of their Mac and Cheese - plus a cold pint of Great Lakes IPA. The food came out on a rectangular tray - and was also accompanied by 3 squeeze bottles of BBQ sauces - including one which is supposed to be their heat monster. I used a lot of the "hottest" hot BBQ sauce on both the brisket and the jalapeño sausage - and while it was tasty, it was not hot enough. I acknowledge it is probably hot enough for most folks, but I am a bit of a pepper head. It would have been nice to have an option for something hotter. I started in on the Brussel Sprouts - the menu advertised them as crisp - and these were no where close to crisp. The bartender, I believe her name was Bonnie - came over to check on me. I advised her I was disappointed in the fact that the Brussel sprouts were not crisp - and she insisted on taking them back to the kitchen. In about 2 minutes - another batch was delivered to me - and these were clearly much closer to crispiness. I would have preferred them even crispier - but I was fine with what they were serving. I was not a fan of the slaw or pickled vegetables - none of them were memorable. The jalapeño sausage was dried out. The Brisket burnt ends were pretty good though, and the Mac and Cheese was decent. Of course, the Great Lakes IPA is always on point (4.5 stars on Untappd). There is also outdoor seating here. Service was good. The worst Italian food. Pasta was definitely from a box, stuffed peppers tasted microwaved, and the steak tasted like it was deep fried. Had no grill marks or anything and was just oily. If you want over priced and low quality Italian food, then this is the place to go! read more

I understand staffing issues, but the service was bad past that. Never checked on us, late to come to table, food took over an hour (everyone else got food even coming after us), first round of drinks over 15 minutes, second round of drinks we cancelled because also took over 15 minutes and it looked like they hadn't even made them yet. Started pouring no one asked us to come inside (everyone went themselves). Food was OK, seemed overcooked and meat portions were small- sides were good.
