Cremona is small cute restaurant in the heart of chardon square. The place fits right in with how cozy and welcoming the place is. Even though cozy, I didn't feel cramped like a lot of smaller restaurants are. Service: we had a young server. May have been her first serving job. She didn't pay too much attention to us - just a quick 'hi and bye' but not much else. Forgetful when we did actually ask for things too. Food: overall okay. I had the short rib with tagliatelle pasta. Pasta was perfectly al dente but the short rib was very wine forward that I couldn't taste anything extra. Everyone's tastes buds are different, but it was too much for me. My friend ordered the carbonara and she basically licked her bowl clean. Dessert: has the sea salt Gelato and it was so delicious! Wow! Thats all I can say! Rarely do you eat at a restaurant that gets everything right, but Cremona absolutely does. From the service to the food, it was amazing. Meredith was our server and she was phenomenal. Attentive, informed, efficient, funny and light-hearted. I ordered the double bone-in pork chop and it was superb. Moist, tender and juicy. The mushroom risotto was divine and the grilled asparagus was very tasty as well. The clam chowder soup was so delicious with fantastic flavors without being too salty. My husband ordered the half portion pasta bolognese and he said "now this is how bolognese is supposed to taste". Oh, and the lemon drop martini was also off-the-hook. I wish I had taken pics but next time, because we will def be back. Not our first time here, but first time posting a review. If you want superb service and outstanding food, this is it. Service is unbelievable at Cremona's. Our waiter was amazing. Chefs even brought out our food. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms and the burrata appetizer. I recommend both. Portions are big and they offer half portions. We ordered the shrimp and scallop pasta. My daughter and I even split the half portion. For dessert we ordered the gelato. I just wish they didn't run out of the pistachio flavor. We sat outside on a beautiful, warm evening. I recommend making reservations on the weekend. read more

Chardon has always been in need of more high level eating establishments. As nice as the square is for strolling before or after dinner I never understood why fine dining is in such short supply. Well, Cremona is doing a good job of trying to fill the gap. It is a comfortable, intimate environment. Very nice people that work very hard at giving you a good experience. We were greeted by a pleasant young lady that also functioned as our server; as well as the establishments bartender. She ran all night. Everyone worked hard to fill the gap but I think the room could have used some additional help. The menu had a nice selection of offerings making it easy for anyone to put together a satisfying meal. The wine selection was satisfactory as well. I had a nice Valpolicella. One of the most pleasant surprises was the ability to place half-order entrees. This addresses the problem most restaurants have in oversized servings. I find nothing enticing about a plate overflowing with more food than any normal person can eat. The half serving addresses this problem nicely. I started with bruschetta that was simple, flavorful and sized perfectly. I followed that with a half order of Boar Bolognese. It was nicely done. Veal, boar, beef and pork in a nicely seasoned sauce served over properly cooked pasta. My 3 dinner partners were all quite satisfied with their meals as well. I must make note: my wife ordered the Gnocchi special, knowing full well how difficult it is to prepare properly. We were both impressed how well it presented. We finished with a very good cup of coffee and dessert. I had Afagatto with pistachio gelato... excellent. However, my brother had the cannoli. They were a disappointment. The filling was dry and flavorless and the shells were too thick and hard. All in all we had a good experience. We will definitely return for another try. Look like they're struggling for customers now. The front of the building is plastered with big tacky signs saying OPEN and OPEN FOR LUNCH and OPEN SUNDAYS. Guess the rude attitude when they first opened affected business and nobody comes back a second time. read more

We didn't have reservations, but the host told us we could sit at the bar. It's not ideal for dinner - a little bright and tight seating, but we decided to stay. Bartender was amazing and did a great job trying to upsell. Started with the short rib bruschetta. The short rib was so tender, but the app itself was lacking something. We didn't taste much of the mushroom described and both agreed it needed some sort of "drizzle" even if it was around the sides as an option. Not worth $19 IMO. Just very bland in taste and appearance. Side salads were delicious and the dressing was amazing. I ordered the chicken piccata, and my husband ordered the Delmonico steak. Both dishes were amazing, but polenta that was served with the steak was cold. I did feel like the piccata should've been served with "scratch" pasta, but it was over a medley of vegetables. Still had great flavor. It became very crowded and loud, so not ideal for an intimate evening. Glad we tried, but not sure we would return. read more

My wife and I stopped in with some friends for a late evening bite after going to the Geauga county fair. The restaurant is well decorated and the bar looks to be well stocked with good liquor. We ate on the patio which is very nice. Our server was a nice girl but was not very attentive and was absent most of the time. We had to ask for plates and table service. We ordered drinks and we waited quite sometime for them to arrive. I know that a quality drink takes time but a Mule and sangria are easy drinks to make. The drink prices are on the high side. 17.00 dollars for a glass of sangria. The restaurant was not very busy so it struck me as odd that we only ordered appetizers and it took 45 minutes for them to arrive. The food was pretty good but not memorable. The meatballs were firm and meaty with a rather plain chunky tomato sauce. The calamari was kind of chewy and the aeolie was ok but not really good. I won't go out of my way to tell my friends and family that they should eat here. The restaurant is very nice and the staff was friendly thanked us for visiting. read more

I had Tagliatelle short ribs , with Sicilian wedding soup for appetizer which I could have eaten the soup with a slice of bread maybe next time . The food was absolutely delicious, but the indoor acoustics were awful. Our group of six was seated at a round table and the room was so noisy that we couldn't hear each other across the table. The server and chef literally told us that the pasta is made elsewhere and then shipped to them frozen, not fresh. And when they run out of specialty pasta, they just use regular pasta from the grocery store but continue to charge the same prices. read more

I was excited to try Cremona especially having loved it when it was Bella Cucina. It was very underwhelming. The Good: -The Bruschetta was delicious. The tomato's were sweet and went very well with the hi quality balsamic vinegar. - portion sizes are large That's where the good ends, unfortunately. The Bad: I had the shrimp scampi and my wife had the Alfredo with chicken. The protein on both had a "blackened" seasoning on it that left an odd after taste. The chicken was dry. The shrimp were very large and they give you a good serving but they were overcooked and rubbery as well as having the weird blackening season that did not go well with it. The pasta is not scratch made. I say this from some level of knowledge having worked in kitchens in several very nice restaurants in my past. I make homemade pasta...this was not it. -Over all, both dishes had an odd unpleasant after taste that I think came from the blackening seasoning. The pasta was disappointing ad I was expecting hand made fresh pasta from a "Scratch" kitchen. -The prices are way too high for the quality. Total bill for 2 was $120 after tip and that did not include drinks. I wouldn't suggest this place. There are better Italian options in Middlefield and Newbury. read more

Recently had dinner with five other guests on the lovely patio. We had the cheeseboard, smoked salmon bruschetta, and the burrata as appetizers. Everything we tasted was spectacular. For entrées, we had filet, sausage rigatoni pasta, carbonara, short rib pasta, and veal porterhouse. Entrées were delicious and beautifully presented. Service was impeccable. Joe took care of us from the moment we walked in the door, answering questions, making recommendations and was very attentive. The chef came out several times explaining the meat and cheese board and delivering entrées, etc., For dessert We had the cannolis, tiramisu and gelato all of which were sweet, tasty and delicious. We arrived with prompt and courteous service. The salad was a great indication of what was to follow. A house salad started, the dressing superb. The wine selection was perfect for our Chicken Marsala. The flavorings brought out the essence of the main course. The care to create a top-rated meal was evident. The service was smooth and professional, especially since they had only been open for four weeks on our visit. This was completed with the tiramisu, which was made in-house. It was very flavorful. Cremona is terrific scratch Italian in Chardon Square. The location is convenient with plenty of parking right out front or near by. The atmosphere is comfortable and inviting. Their menu is creative and extremely good. A full bar with a nice wine and cocktail list along with daily specials. I haven't had a chance to sit on the patio yet but it looks cool. The service is incredible and extremely customer focused. I highly recommend for a great dining experience on Chardon Square! read more

Recently moved down the block from Cremona and have had dinner twice and tried lunch today. The Shrimp Scampi, traditional Caesar, and calamari were all great and I'd reorder them again but lunch today was phenomenal. The Italian sandwich is one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. The texture of the bread was perfect and the aioli sauce is to die for. My friend had the veggie sandwich and said it tasted great. Also had the French onion soup which is spot on. I'll probably be reordering the same thing for lunch tomorrow. read more

On our arrival for 8:00 reservation they were running slightly behind. The front of the house was nice, and told us we would be seated soon. We were, and ordered the small board which was Italian meats and cheeses. It was ok, the priscutto was good and a parm that was good. The other was an onion cheese and a soft goat type cheese that was just ok and not truly Italian. The fresh bread is a pleasant surprise the dehydrated spices are good but need to be skipped for a grated pecorino and salt and pepper. The Caesar salad was well seasoned and tasted good. The main course for me a pesto cavitelli with fresh mozzarella. My husband had the chicken picatta, of the two entrees the picatta was the winner. It was well seasoned and the vegetables had a great taste. The pesto Cavitelli needed cheese and lacked flavor and was really greasy. There was very little mozzarella and the balsamic did not help the dish. It's very loud and bright, not a great place for a quiet dinner. The wine list was ok, we had a decent Gavi. They offer some local, California wines and have a good drink menu. The service was good and attentive. For dessert we opted for the salted Carmel gelato which was good. I don't think we would rush back but a decent place to try. The price is right for a dinner with a bottle of wine and dessert. I think 3.5 stars!!! read more
