Eh. This place was just OK. We went right when they started opening up the restaurants after Covid so the outdoor seating was helpful and eased our concerns. We were told up front that the wait staff wasn't really wait staff they were kitchen people who were helping out for the day. The service was just fine. The food well, I'm not sure if it was a limited menu because it was during Covid or what but it was a very very limited menu. I think we got a pizza I can't even remember it was that forgettable. The wine wasn't that great either but the ambience was excellent. This review is coming off somewhat negative and I don't mean for it to come across that way. I Definitely would give this place another try but I would go into it with lower expectations. I am grateful, very grateful that they opened up as early as they did and gave us a place to go.

I went here this past weekend with my parents. We were looking for something to do that would be relaxing, and being new to the area from California it seemed like a good choice. The drive from reminderville was really nice too! While I'm not a big wine lover, my parents are. I don't like reds or anything really dry so I tried the few sweet ones that were available. They were eloquence, discretion and defiance (did I mention they are all named after virtues?? Cool!). The defiance was my favorite (my mother said that was fitting lol), it was a rosė blush and soooo good! My parents said the ones they tried were all good with one exception but I don't recall which that was unfortunately. Tastings were .50 each and glasses were $5 I believe. We also got a cheese plate, and I ordered the meatball soup, can't remember the exact name. The cheese plate was pretty basic, the soup was actually really good but just a little bit salty. But not too much that I didn't enjoy it! The girls working were nice and helpful, service was good. It was pretty empty when we arrived but got busier by the time we left. The set-up was fine, tastings and food orders placed at the bar and they bring your food to your table. There's also a back room, like an enclosed patio and an outside patio as well. We would definitely go back!

The food and wine was really good. I was surprised by the nice selection of both wine & food!

I went to Sharon James Cellars for a reunion & I was pleasantly surprised. As you drive up to the parking lot, the restaurant is deceiving because it's a lot bigger than it looks from the outside. As you walk in they have a long bar to your left & indoor restaurant seating to your right & left. As you walk through the double doors ahead, you walk into their enclosed patio, & then further on they have an outside patio w/a wood burning fireplace. But there's more, if you go further back they have a another outside covered patio surrounded by a beautiful pond & a beautiful small vineyard. If you are seated outside of the restaurant then you have to go into the restaurant to place your order & pay for your drinks & meals. They have a full bar & a beautiful selection of wine. I've always been a little hesitant when it comes to Ohio wines, but this place has a large selection of dry/sweet of white & red wine. They give you a number to place on your table so they know what food belongs to your table. We first ordered appetizers such as veggies & hummus, cheese & crackers to go w/our wine. Then we ordered a pizza. The pizza was quite large that a few of us ordered one pizza. What was really nice is that none of us wanted the same thing on the pizza, so they made half of the pizza one way & put other toppings on the other side. The pizza took a long time for them to make, but I think it was probably because they were really busy. For some strange reason I didn't think it would be good, but I was so wrong. The pizza was amazing. It was tasty and the crust was nice and crispy. All the other food we ordered was really good. The staff was friendly & was on top of everything. They cleared our plates as soon as we were done eating. Also everything was reasonably priced. This is a wonderful place to have a relaxing dinner, or even plan a party or an event. The scenery alone puts you in a relaxed & serene mood. On the weekends they have live music from local musicians. If you are ever in the area you should definitely stop in...have a glass of wine, listen to music, walk to the pond and have some of their delicious food.

So she chose the Christmas lights of Chagrin Falls and "Odd Fellows Restaurant" which looks out on the Gazebo and all the lights of the square. We arrived at the restaurant and immediately were seated at a comfortable table in the center of the room by a very professional young woman. Very shortly after, the sweetest, most bubbly young lady greeted us and introduced herself as Bianca, our server for the evening. I can't say enough about Bianca. She was absolutely extraordinary. Friendly is an understatement. She had a beautiful smile that never left her face. She was so personable you could not help but feel comfortable in her care for the evening. Throughout the 2+ hours we were in her hands she just kept getting more impressive. If you decide to give "Odd Fellows" a try you would be doing yourself a great service by requesting her as your server for the evening when you make your reservation. Our initial order included refreshing drinks from the bar along with great crusty bread and excellent "Roasted red pepper soup". Very nicely done. We followed that with our entrees. I ordered the "Sesame Tuna" which was very nicely prepared. My wife and sister-in-law had the "Walleye" and they loved it. My brother enjoyed the "Shrimp Bucatini". I must say the kitchen did an exemplary job all evening... Kudos to the entire kitchen staff. We followed dinner with excellent coffee and very nicely presented desserts. A marvelous finish to a marvelous evening at "Odd Fellows". I give them my highest recommendation and encourage you to give them a try. Don't forget to request Bianca -- she is the cherry on top.

Started off with bread that came with a great garlic butter. Wish the bread had come out warm but it was good. I had a Caesar salad with shrimp for dinner which was great, filling but still light and the shrimp were fantastic, nice and big and very flavorful. We also ordered Brussels sprouts, fries and "onion rings" for the table. The Brussels were fantastic, probably my best bite of the night. I also really loved the fries, they had the perfect amount of salt which I always appreciate. The onions rings were very good, but I would call them more of onion straws so just be sure you know what you're getting if you grab those. Others at my table enjoyed the burger a lot, as well as the shrimp pasta. A lovely holiday experience overall!

For the food- for starters, the bread and compound butter are absolutely incredible and fresh. The duck flatbread is full of unique and cohesive flavors! I ordered the Korean bbq steak and my goodness, that did not disappoint. I will say as a suggestion, the Brussels sprouts would be better on the side and crisped up a little bit versus mixed in with the potatoes. The potatoes were cooked perfectly and the flavor of the entire dish was wonderful. Also ordered at my table were various sushi rolls which were all presented beautifully and had flavor to match. The ramen bowl boasted a bold broth with perfectly cooked noodles. The dessert was not quite what I pictured in my mind, I ordered the chocolate raspberry cheesecake and I was thinking it was going to be a vanilla cheesecake with chocolate and raspberry swirls but it is actually a chocolate cheesecake. Personally it was a little dense for me but still very tasty! The drinks were tasty and well thought-out and the bartenders are very good at their job! Overall was a wonderful dining experience. The establishment that usually comes to mind is "Square Bistro". It sits on the scenic square in downtown Chardon. The beautiful small town atmosphere is very calming. Great for a pre or post dinner stroll. You don't have to be concerned in any way about safety before or after dark. It's just a great place to be. Making reservations is easy... but definitely necessary. Lots of people love this establishment. It is always full. They have a very nice conventional menu as well as an excellent Sushi bar. And currently they are having their "Fall Clam Bake" with loads of options. We entered and met Megan, our server for the evening. She had a smile that never quit. Her bubbly personality made for a very fun evening. She was very attentive but never intrusive. After ordering our beverages and appetizers she gave us plenty of time to get comfortable and investigate the menu options. A basket of the most wonderful warm bread was delivered to the table and when it was gone another appeared in it's place. All 4 of us ordered the "Tomato Salad" - Organic Heirloom Tomatoes | Fresh Mozzarella | Basil Olive Oil | Aged Balsamic Reduction | Fried Garlic & Shallot Chips. It is one of my favorite items from their menu. Everything is so fresh and the house made dressing is wonderful. I always look forward to it. For our entrees my brother and I ordered the "Veal Milanese Piccata" - Panko Herb & Asiago Breaded Veal Cutlet | Lemon Caper Cream Sauce | mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. Our spouses ordered "Crab Crusted Grouper" - Pan Roasted Gulf Red Grouper | Cajun Crab Crust | Lobster Saffron Cream Sauce | Chef's Grain & Vegetable. I always enjoy the food at "Square Bistro" so I must say, during this visit the Veal was not quite up to their standards. It had good flavor, however the breading was too thick and a bit dry. Also it needed some additional sauce. I only make that note because it was not the norm for them. I'm sure it was a one-time misstep. Everything else we ordered was excellent as usual. After dinner was followed up with an excellent cup of coffee and fabulous desserts. We had "Pumpkin Spice Creme Brule", "Ice Cream Bomba", and "Candy Apple Tart". Each and every one was exceptional! So, as usual, "Square Bistro" on Chardon Square was a wonderful night out. It was a great evening as always. This establishment belongs on your "must see list".

We ordered two waters and my husband ordered one soda for himself. He came back with two waters and two glasses and poured the soda into two different glasses and proceeded to tell us no sharing we weren't sure what he meant by this because I never asked for a pop. He was laughing when he said it so we let that one go. We ordered the same thing we got last time which was some kind of chicken stew with rice and coconut milk and peanuts because it was delicious the last time we had it. I made the mistake of telling the waiter that my husband had the chicken stroganoff and that was good too that I had tasted his last time he proceeded to tell me there's no sharing and laughing hysterically. I figured he was just trying to be funny? The last time we came to this restaurant, we had four people the bill was $350 because we ordered all kinds of appetizers and desserts. He overheard this and came to the table and said then I think what you need to do is order the $80 plate since you guys are ordering the same thing and remember there's no sharing then he proceeded to say something else about getting me another Coke if I wanted it and my husband had to correct him several times saying she never ordered a coke if you would have actually listened to what we wanted and stop trying to be a comedian ! Then my husband told him to please just put in our order for 2 dinners and some bread or we were going to leave, he said oh are you serious right now? My husband told him yes I am and you are insulting us with your comments about " sharing " its getting to the point where we may need another waiter he quickly walked away. Someone else brought our food to the table but no bread, my chicken stew had 3 little pieces of chicken in it nothing like we had the 1 st time my husband had to give me some chicken with my stew which was a coconut soup with a little white rice all mixed together not like the last time at all. We finally had to ask for the bread which he brought over. The dinner was terrible, but we didn't want to say anything because we just wanted to get out of there. Our whole dinner was ruined. Here's the thing the waiter seemed very off-balance. something is definitely not right with him. I understand he's new but the way he was speaking with us was unprofessional. Don't try to be a comedian. Read the room. And as for his comments about sharing for the last time when when we were here with our daughter and her boyfriend and spent over $300 for the bill, we can taste whoever's dinner we want to taste! And when you're offering tapwater and four dollars for a can of pop and making comments the way he was, I will never ever step foot in this place again too inconsistent with their food and too many other places to go to. So disappointing.

An absolutely fantastic visit today…read more Our daughter is moving out of town, and for her "going-away" dinner she wanted one more visit to Cru. What a wonderful choice it turned out to be. From beginning to end, this was truly a remarkable dining experience. Every time we visit, it seems like both the food and the service continue to get even better. We had reserved a table on the outdoor patio and were seated promptly. We absolutely love the patio--its ambiance is second to none and, in our opinion, it's one of the best outdoor dining spaces in the city. This time, we decided to keep things light and ordered a selection of appetizers, a cheese board, and desserts. Since the menu changes four times a year, there's little point in listing every dish, as they'll likely be different by the time someone reads this review. A huge compliment goes to the entire kitchen staff. Every appetizer was beautifully prepared, and they even made a special zucchini blossom for our daughter, which was a wonderful surprise. A special thank you also goes to the pastry chef. The three desserts were outstanding, and the personal touch of writing "Good Luck in Chicago" in chocolate on one of the dessert plates made the evening even more memorable. We also want to recognize both sommeliers. During a previous visit, one of them had prepared an incredible house-made bar nut mix that we still talk about. We asked whether it was still available, and although he explained it was no longer on the menu, he went out of his way to prepare it for us on the spot. Our daughter absolutely loved it. Our second sommelier (whose name I unfortunately forgot) was equally wonderful. She took the time to recommend several excellent Pinot Grigios after my daughter asked for suggestions, and her knowledge and enthusiasm were greatly appreciated. Finally, a heartfelt thank you to our server, Julie, who provided warm, attentive, and professional service throughout the evening. She helped make an already special occasion even more enjoyable. As we were leaving, my daughter summed it up perfectly: "This was probably my favorite visit out of all the times we've been here." For a restaurant we've enjoyed many times over the years, that's about the highest compliment we could give. Thank you to everyone at Cru for making our daughter's farewell dinner so memorable. We wish you continued success and can't wait for our next visit.

I've been in this establishment two times. The last time was June 18. I went to the restroom at 9:55 PM. This would be a good time to check your security cameras. Before even walked into the restroom, there were comments made to me by him that were inappropriate. Left the restroom where he proceeded to sit in his chair. Ask me if I went number one or number two. Then he proceeded to blow in my hair and tell me that I should be doing sexual favors for him on my knees as all of the men around him laughed. He proceeded to make fun of my hair, etc... Sam is supposedly a family man. This is supposed to be a family owned establishment which is posted online. It is not. It is trash. The owner is trash. How embarrassing for his entire family. All of the bartenders, of course, defended him as he was sitting there harassing me. Of course, at the time I didn't realize that it was Sam the actual owner. But of course, while I was taking up for myself, I was told by one of the female bartenders that "this isn't gonna fly here" when I was standing up for myself. I truly hope that maybe Sam can get his life together and stop harassing customers especially new customers. This is not a family, friendly establishment when the owner is completely drunk, falling off his barstool and using complete disgusting language to females that walk by him. I honestly have never had an experience like this before, but after it happened and speaking to other females that frequent that wonderful classy establishment, Sam is known for this.
