We used to love this place! Over the last 6 months or so I don't know what happened but it fell Off. Service and food! We ordered our usual the poutine, it used to come with everything on it and a big portion, last weekend when we ordered it, omg it was like 20 fires with gravy and tiny bit of cheese. It was not the same it was horrible. We couldn't believe it! The server was rushing us and it just seemed like they were over whelmed big time . I wish it was like b4! Not sure what happened!!! A bit of a weird experience but I know "off days" happen and there was enough good that made me want to come back and try again! Part of needing to try visiting again is them being out of the incredibly tasty sounding entree that was making my mouth water all day thinking about it (and my friends beer, too, so the lack of stock was definitely part of the weirdness...) The fact that the sweet potato fries were served with brown sugar cinnamon to dip, the gin and tonic was strong and our waiter was incredibly kind (as indicated in several other reviews) were the highlights. I had read some positive things about this place, especially the burgers and poutine. So, in a poutine mood one night, we ventured over. The parking lot was pretty full but inside the restaurant, the volume was a decent level. The staff was friendly and inviting without being bothersome. We ordered a beer along with poutine and a burger. I think there was a non potato option for our side but we just went full in on the double potatoes! And, I am glad we did. Both the fresh made chips and poutine were delicious. The burger wasn't bad either. But... this meal was salty. Like, had a hard time finishing it even sharing it between the two of us salty. So, it was a good dining experience but we will still be hesitant to go back. It's definitely worth trying once but definitely can't make it a regular spot. The brew was good. There's a parking lot, which is like striking gold in Lakewood! We walk in on a Friday at 6:05pm and it wasn't busy at all; we were seated right away. It took forever for the server to come to our table, then forever for her to bring us our waters. I was so nervous that it was a foreshadowing of how long it would take to get our food... I like the fun, dive bar atmosphere. Things seemed a little bit sticky, but that goes along with any dive bar. We got the pierogi. I'm kind of a pierogi snob and these ranked at the very bottom of one's I've had. PASS. I got a Bella bean wrap, which had really no flavor other than rosemary. I appreciate them trying to be creative and do something different though. My husband got the bourbon back burger and he said it was one of the worst burgers he's ever had. Typically 16oz of anything is too much for me, so being able to order just a 10 or 5oz pour is a gamechanger. All of the deliciousness of beer with none of the overfull feeling. My wings were unfortunately a disappointment. The sauce was amazing, but the wings themselves were breaded weirdly and clearly had been over cooked - they were dry inside and stringy. So sad! Where are the delicious boneless wings in Cleveland!! Still, this is a great neighborhood spot and the service was good. Came here on a Sunday after attending a wedding the night before. Needless to say I was hungover, so I needed nourishment. My boyfriend and I were meeting his friends for brunch. I didn't really take in the ambiance like I should have, because of my situation. I ordered a bloody Mary, which was good. I should have asked for more hot sauce, but again, I was not feeling the best. I also ordered the corned beef hash. I expected it to come chopped up, but it was chunky style. I wasn't opposed to it. Wow this place has completely gone down hill! Don't waste your time or money.. I worked here years ago and always had great things to say about it. But after going in for dinner with my family tonight, I am sooo disappointed. Enough to want to write this review. Everything from the food to the service to the ambiance was just bad. What a waste of 80$ (for 3 people! And we did NOT even get drinks) Fries burnt. Buns burnt. Cabbage and noodles hard. Greasy everything, My stomach hurts already. The hot garlic parm is not the same as before. Tastes cheaper. Same with the ranch. Empty ketchups. Empty waters. Our waiter seemed like he never waited tables before. The place seems dirty and run down. You can see where they are trying to cut corners and costs. They need to throw everything away and completely start over. Don't get French toast if you like it with butter because they don't have it. Only good thing we got was hot tator tots.
