Came here on a Tuesday for dinner and was not disappointed. Food was excellent, drinks were on point, and the service was very friendly. Only minor issue was how warm it was inside the restaurant. While it was very hot outside, the indoor temperature was pretty warm in the bar area. I'll be back for sure! read more

Missed the mark with undercooked burger, oily house chips, and rude female manager. From other reviews it seems the burgers are hit or miss. Mine was a miss. Ordered medium well and was served a very pink burger that was lukewarm. Add the oily chips and I had stomach issues for a few days. read more

Nice patio outside and comfy inside, place was super busy and loud. Customer service was good . Our group was served and we all got a Bourbon Bacon Burger with fries or chips. We all agreed burger was good but it lacked something, maybe onions might help. Fries were super salty. read more

Great times enjoying the game. The food is spectacular. I love how they decorated the place for Easter weekend. Only one light suggestion is to wipe down menus and keep tables and such clean. Place just needs to be kept and cared for. But a couple times here and enjoyed the food. But just need cared for as all should be in food industry so trust is the kitchen is clean. read more

We used to love this place! Over the last 6 months or so I don't know what happened but it fell Off. Service and food! We ordered our usual the poutine, it used to come with everything on it and a big portion, last weekend when we ordered it, omg it was like 20 fires with gravy and tiny bit of cheese. It was not the same it was horrible. We couldn't believe it! The server was rushing us and it just seemed like they were over whelmed big time . I wish it was like b4! Not sure what happened!!! I wouldn't recommend going here. The bartender is very aggravated and annoyed with you when you ask her for a drink. read more

Half off Whiskey Wednesday is the best day of the week. Order the Cyclops burger. Best burger ever. !!!!!

A bit of a weird experience but I know "off days" happen and there was enough good that made me want to come back and try again! Part of needing to try visiting again is them being out of the incredibly tasty sounding entree that was making my mouth water all day thinking about it (and my friends beer, too, so the lack of stock was definitely part of the weirdness...) The fact that the sweet potato fries were served with brown sugar cinnamon to dip, the gin and tonic was strong and our waiter was incredibly kind (as indicated in several other reviews) were the highlights. Until next time, Buckeye! Fingers crossed for that wrap being available! read more

Great food, awesome selection of beers, great service from Connor. Chicken Paprikash and Cleveland burger special were done to perfection.

When I want a wide selection of beers or house made seltzers, with a fast delicious meal, I head to Beer Engine. They made the best house made seltzers in town. Not in a seltzer way, they have a large variety of beers to select from. The staff is always happy to provide a suggestion with a smile. This medium size place has a great patio for perfect for a summer afternoon stop while watching the locals travel by. The menu selection has items like burgers to pierogies, with some vegetarian options available. read more

This is always a reliable spot for good beer & burger. Love the small size of the spot. Have sat at the bar a couple times & table a couple of times. Also enjoyed brunch & the Bloody Mary bar. Just never go wrong here. Remember back when boys were small and each downed their burger, chef had to come out and meet the little ones that conquered their meal. Fun! (Oops, looks like I mentioned this in previous review.) Anyway, let me tell you about my Bourbon Bacon burger that was just SO good. I was skeptical of having gravy on my burger, so I asked for it on the side. And I'm so glad I did. Not because it was bad, quite the opposite! Damn tasty gravy that I could better savor by dipping each bite in. Mmm, mmm, mmm. read more

Buckeye Beer Engine is always a hit. Food is consistently delicious. Have never had a bad meal. Highly recommend the wake-n-bake tots. Table service is great, but bar service is occasionally slow. There's a parking lot, which is like striking gold in Lakewood! We walk in on a Friday at 6:05pm and it wasn't busy at all; we were seated right away. It took forever for the server to come to our table, then forever for her to bring us our waters. I was so nervous that it was a foreshadowing of how long it would take to get our food... I like the fun, dive bar atmosphere. Things seemed a little bit sticky, but that goes along with any dive bar. We got the pierogi. I'm kind of a pierogi snob and these ranked at the very bottom of one's I've had. PASS. I got a Bella bean wrap, which had really no flavor other than rosemary. I appreciate them trying to be creative and do something different though. My husband got the bourbon back burger and he said it was one of the worst burgers he's ever had. Overall, I would not recommend this place at all! read more

I had read some positive things about this place, especially the burgers and poutine. So, in a poutine mood one night, we ventured over. The parking lot was pretty full but inside the restaurant, the volume was a decent level. The staff was friendly and inviting without being bothersome. We ordered a beer along with poutine and a burger. I think there was a non potato option for our side but we just went full in on the double potatoes! And, I am glad we did. Both the fresh made chips and poutine were delicious. The burger wasn't bad either. But... this meal was salty. Like, had a hard time finishing it even sharing it between the two of us salty. So, it was a good dining experience but we will still be hesitant to go back. It's definitely worth trying once but definitely can't make it a regular spot. The brew was good. So maybe just beer and a snack is the way to go. read more

My buddies and I came here after a long night of good laughs, and a few too many drinks. When I say that the chorizo burrito breathed life back into me is an understatement! Delicious. Compliments to the chef. The DIY Bloody Mary stand is a nice touch. However, I went ahead and had the bartender make mine for me while I sat at the table drinking pitchers of water. The atmosphere is cool. Our server was extremely nice and joked with us throughout the morning given how clear it was our spirits were low. Two bloody read more

Very quaint and local- love the small town vibes inside. Food is always delicious. Buckeye Beer Engine - Hot dog with loaded breakfast tots, sweet potato fries, boneless wings, and pretzel sticks! Yum! - American Near Me - Lakewood, Ohio

My husband and I came here when I was craving boneless wings. Yelp told me buckeye beer engine is known for them and so off we went. We were seated quickly at the bar and greeted by our server who got us settled with our beers and took our order. The rotating beer menu is stellar - and I love that you can order different sizes. Typically 16oz of anything is too much for me, so being able to order just a 10 or 5oz pour is a gamechanger. All of the deliciousness of beer with none of the overfull feeling. My wings were unfortunately a disappointment. The sauce was amazing, but the wings themselves were breaded weirdly and clearly had been over cooked - they were dry inside and stringy. So sad! Where are the delicious boneless wings in Cleveland!! Still, this is a great neighborhood spot and the service was good. My husband enjoyed what he ordered, which was a monthly special, much more than I enjoyed my wings, and we both liked the beer and the vibes, so we'll likely give this one more try. read more

Dear Beer Engine, we've been visiting you... 20+ years? You are better than ever. Tonight we had the cheese steak & the Kentucky Hot Brown specials. Wow. Just wow. My husband's loves the cheese steak, the Hot Brown was amazing! Thick cut smoked turkey, grilled tomato, Texas toast & the sauce? Perfection. Coupled with a great tap list & great service, just a wonderful comforting dinner on a rainy night. We love the Engine, it's always a go to place in our book! read more

Came here on a Sunday after attending a wedding the night before. Needless to say I was hungover, so I needed nourishment. My boyfriend and I were meeting his friends for brunch. I didn't really take in the ambiance like I should have, because of my situation. I ordered a bloody Mary, which was good. I should have asked for more hot sauce, but again, I was not feeling the best. I also ordered the corned beef hash. I expected it to come chopped up, but it was chunky style. I wasn't opposed to it. It was tasty and I enjoyed it. However, there was so much of it. I don't know who can eat that much food. I would definitely come here again, for brunch, lunch, dinner, drinks, but hopefully next time I won't be hungover and can enjoy my experience. read more

I'd give it a zero but you can't. For well over a decade I have been going there and the service has declined A LOT certain days. Tonight, bellying up to the bar, not one bartender said a word. About five minutes in, the female part owner waved. More time passes, minute by minute, not one bit of eye contact or even a be right with you. Over a decade of patronage and that? F that place. It's a shame. Used to be great but seems the current owners have sucked the life out of the servers. I'll say it again to reiterate, F THAT PLACE! read more

Wow this place has completely gone down hill! Don't waste your time or money.. I worked here years ago and always had great things to say about it. But after going in for dinner with my family tonight, I am sooo disappointed. Enough to want to write this review. Everything from the food to the service to the ambiance was just bad. What a waste of 80$ (for 3 people! And we did NOT even get drinks) Fries burnt. Buns burnt. Cabbage and noodles hard. Greasy everything, My stomach hurts already. The hot garlic parm is not the same as before. Tastes cheaper. Same with the ranch. Empty ketchups. Empty waters. Our waiter seemed like he never waited tables before. The place seems dirty and run down. You can see where they are trying to cut corners and costs. They need to throw everything away and completely start over. This is not the beer engine that Lakewood used to love. read more
