I recently stopped by Dynamite Dawgs for a quick carry-out lunch. The service was efficient, making it an ideal spot for a fast midday break, though they do offer some seating for dining in. The Food I tried the Coney Dog, the Seattle Sweet Hawk, and the Garlic Herb Fried Curds. The Seattle Sweet Hawk was the highlight--the balance of heat and cream cheese was excellent. Feedback While the flavors were great, two small changes would elevate the experience: * The Buns: I noticed they were microwaved; toasting them on a griddle would provide a much better texture. * The Snap: The hot dogs lacked that firm, satisfying "snap" when you bite into them. Those Garlic Parmesan French Fries--sorry, Spuds--in the photo were phenomenal! Best when just made without driving them home, oh so delicious, and worth every penny. And psst, look at the pretty Christmas decorations through the window! While I can't yet say for sure what my favorite dynamite dawg is, it's because so far I can't stop going back for the New York. It is so good!! Truly dynamite! Toppings always evenly distributed & piled high, and I think the prices are great for what you get. One hot dawg with a side is a lot for me to finish, the all beef hot dogs themselves are huge, and especially with toppings can make a filling meal in itself. I'm pretty particular about hot dogs, and the all beef hot dawgs here would be my choice every time. I wonder where they buy them? I got to taste the Backyard BBQ Dawg today--another one I now wholeheartedly recommend! (maybe with no yellow mustard for me, personally, but still was great & definitely went well with it). So mouthwatering in memory that I may even choose that one instead of NY next time! I've also never been disappointed with their Pierogies & Grilled Onions, or the Broccoli Cheddar Bites--both of which can be found in the Munchies category. (fyi: fried broccoli bacon cheddar bites are exact same as yummy ones from TJ's on the Ave & Sheetz) The order itself was also made & packed with care. For example, asked for ranch to dip instead of marinara, no mustard on one hot dawg & a little extra barbecue sauce on another. Three hot dawgs & four appetizers, and everything was made just as we asked. I really appreciated that attention to detail. I hope Dynamite Dawgs does well and lasts a long time, I really love the idea of year round 'fair food,' and this place is so fun and has a lot of different options, even seasonally. The server was quick and friendly, very kind. The menu was varied. The food, delicious. I ordered a hot dog meal and got fries and a drink with the combo. It was happy hour "2-4pm" on weekdays I think.. so they took 15% off. The hot dog is juicy and thick... like thicc thick. The fries were hot and fresh and perfectly salted. The atmosphere is nice, you can watch little ones play on a playground right outside the windows.. families and children coming in and out for their amazing shakes and ice cream cones. We stopped in just before they closed today. No issue because everything is made fresh. We tried the Irish dog and the Backyard BBQ dog and both were delicious! We also tried the cheese curds and they were perfect. As good as those were it's possible they were outshone by the milkshakes. We tried the Reese's shake and the churro shake. Wow. This little hot dog joint is great, if you're not in a hurry. If you're not into waiting 15-20 minutes for your food when you're the only 2 people in the place, then it's best to order ahead and get it to go. The menu was huge! We ordered the chicken sliders, the poutine and the veggie Italian sausage. The sliders were tasty, but arrived 10 minutes before anything else. The poutine gravy and curds were cold on top and the Veggie Italian sausage was just okay with a soggy bun. The employees seemed more interested in rooting for the game on TV rather than putting effort into our food or keeping the dining room clean. The Lemonade was great! Would I go back? Yeah, maybe. Andrew and I have been trying to come here for a few months since a buddy of his is one of the owners. We finally had the chance on a Tuesday afternoon and we dragged my mom and niece along! I love fair-style food so this place is going to be my new go to, especially with funnel cakes. I chose The Hangover Dawg, Andrew got the Chili Mac Dawg, my mom got the Fried Mushrooms and her and my niece both got soft pretzels. We also got a family spud to share. I am proud to say we definitely got our moneys worth! I loved my Dawg, but I'm not big on meat so I didn't care for the type of sausage that was used. It made it difficult to bite for me. It was SO tasty though, I would definitely get it again. Andrew LOVED his chili Mac Dawg and said he'll be back for another. My mom loved her mushrooms as well, but both my mom and niece said the pretzel was a little hard. It seemed like a slow day so I understand it may have sat for a while, but my niece is a picky eater so she was disappointed. The fries are definitely a family portion. Friendly people working here. The Coney Dogs were very good. Mac & cheese dog was very good, the Mac and cheese tasted fresh. New York dog was also very good. The actual hotdog is excellent. Toppings and how it is dressed it above average but the dog itself does not disappoint. Fries were good. Beverage size was larger than expected. One of my husband's favorite places. He gets the poutine and says it's quite authentic to its Canadian origin. What a great find in my new neighborhood! My fiancé and I are still exploring the local foodie scene and this is another hidden gem here in Mentor/Lake County. This reminds me a lot of Scooters on the inside, but is better in my opinion. I almost passed the place up because there's a playground on the side for the adjacent daycare in the building. The menu is huge and can be a bit overwhelming. But if you love deep fried fair foods, this is definitely the place for you. There's everything from fries, onion rings, and fried pickles to hot dogs, fried oreos, and lemonade. I saw the Hangover Dawg and that sounded interesting so I had to give it a go. It had a spicy sausage on it with an egg, cheese, onions and some sort of sauce that had a nice flavor. My fiancé got a classic Polish Boy topped with fries, slaw, and BBQ sauce. The sausage on that was a bit tough and overcooked but the toppings on it made the sandwich. The fried pickles were the star of the show for me - spears are always better than chips and the breading was incredible. The onion rings were also very crispy with tasty sweet onions inside. The sauce that came with both of those tastes like the typical horseradishy creamy sauce that usually comes with onion rings at places. And of course strawberry lemonade to wash it all down, which was huge and had nice strawberry chunks in it so that was incredible. Overall, this was such a pleasant surprise and I can see my fiancé and I getting this for lunch or dinner quite often since it's on his way home from work. Had I known this place was this amazing I would have come sooner. It looks like a little hole in the wall from the outside, but appearances are truly deceiving with the place. I had the chili Mac dawg, and it was OUTSTANDING! The hot dog was pretty big and so tasty. The Mac n cheese combined with the chili was awesome! The fries were great. With motorcycle over in Ohio my quick trips to Tony Packos are done. I was up in the Mentor area due to catching up at work. I was craving a Hungarian hot dog. Did some searches on Yelp and found Dynamite dawgs. The menu is awesome a great selection of dawgs, burgers, and fries. I would like to see shakes. I went in hunting for a coney. I was not let down. The chilli on the coney was awesome with a sprinkle of onion and cheese. Thank you for using real cheese not that nacho cheeses sauce. I could used more onions and cheese please. I also got a side of mushrooms. The mushrooms came with a side of marinara which Is not normal for me. I requested some horsey sauce, which they don't carry. I settled on ketchup. My ketchup was brought out by someone in the kitchen. Who gave me some alternate suggestion for my horsey sauce dilemma. He suggested a zesty sauce that was similar to onion ring dipping sauce you get a burger joint. It was a perfect combination and gave me the kick I wanted. Great customer service. I settled on ketchup and most places would have left it there. Appreciate the suggestion Service was great. Food was great. The price was reasonable. I see in some reviews the bun was stale. Mine didn't seem stale at all. It wasn't as soft as bread out of the oven. Seriously, I don't know how softer bread could withstand the hot dog and all the toppings. He got small fries and I got the poutine and 2 drinks...$28.00. For sure share the fries. The small was huge. If your afraid of salt, ask for no salt because there was a lot of flake salt on them. Dang that's a great burger! Dynamite Dawgs is a hidden gem for sure. Their menu of nostalgic year round festival foods paired with unique hotdogs and now huge 1/2 burgers are a Must Try for any in or visiting Lake County. I usually go for their poutine fries but this time I finally tried one of their burgers. I got the Brutus Burger which is a 1/2 lb patty on a brioche bun with THICK cut bacon, a fried egg, cheddar and garlic butter. It was phenomenal and one of the best burgers I've ever had. I paired it with their February Special Chocolate Covered Strawberry shake. The shake was fun and yummy. The prices are very reasonable for the portion sizes and quality of food. Points for ambition; the menu is large -- lots of dogs, sides, even slider burgers. Colorful murals. Not much seating, but for now, at least, they've got a few tables outside as well. Alas, the food prep doesn't match the ambition, mostly. The fries were the big disappointment. A medium -- big enough for three people at least -- came out limp, as if the oil wasn't hot enough. Not super greasy, though. They're billed as made fresh, and come with the peels on, but they deserve much better treatment. The Chicago Dawg was the draw for me. I had my doubts going in, when I saw the description, but I was willing to give it a try. So, first, it's not a Chicago dog. Decent poppy seed bun, but a tad stale -- that seems to be a common flaw with places that sell lots of different dogs but only use these buns for the Chicago style. The all-beef dog had a solid taste, but the casing lacks the proper snap. Then there are the toppings. Chopped onion, fine. Sport peppers, yeah, I think they were buried in there. But ... diced tomatoes, not wedges. Deep-fried pickles, which -- no, I don't need more breading or a hot pickle. No discernible celery salt. Way too much mustard, and it's slathered all over the top so it dominates the flavor mix too much. And plain old relish -- not a neon bit in sight. I'm not opposed to experimenting. But don't do that and still call it a Chicago dog. A Waukegan dog, maybe. A Joliet dog. A Mattoon frankfurter, even. Name aside, how was it? Decent, but I wouldn't go back for it. Plus side: The breaded, fried green beans were crisp. I wouldn't pair them with a pizza dipping sauce, but that was OK. read more

I heard mixed results, either the food took too long to come out and wasn't worth the wait or it was very good. my experience was great. great staff and my food came out within 10 minutes.
