New Philly cheese steak place that opened in the University Circle area. Capo's is a more healthier, welcome addition in the area since there only seems to be comfort food like Rascal House and Hell's Fried chicken on the street. I had a Philly cheese steak while requesting no bread. While my companion had one of their regular cheese steaks. My Philly cheese steak with no bread instead had a salad, which is neatly arranged inside my container with the cheesesteak meat on the other side. I took a bite from my companion's regular cheesesteak. Sure, the bread was a bit soggy on the inside. But other than that I quite liked it. You order inside the restaurant and they'll yell for you once your order is available. Thanks to Hell's Fried chicken being next door, there's plenty of seating outside. No seating inside Capo's, but it's steamy inside anyway. Not a place you'd be comfortable sitting in. read more

Polish boy was average with somewhat tough sausage and crusty bun. Sweet steak sandwich in whole size was sizable and on par for $10 price tag. There was nothing sweet in flavor about the steak or sauce- in fact I didn't even detect any sauce as the liquid in the sandwich was just grease along with the steak, onions, peppers, and cheese. Someone at Yelp needs to look into the 4.5 star rating this place has because something just ain't right. This was awful, horrible, disgusting. I seriously am not sure that it was "beef" in my cheese steak. If it was, it was the absolute lowest grade of meat I've ever eaten. I pulled a couple of the nastiest pieces of what I think were gristle out of my mouth that actually looked like a cows small intestines. I only ate half of my sandwich and threw the other half away, it was one of those things where the voice in my head said don't finish it, you'll be sorry. And to be perfectly honest, that voice is usually hungry and doesn't speak up, in fact I thought he was mute all these years. The "fries" were horrible; greasy and served wrapped in a piece of tissue paper like a half a dozen fingers cuts off during a mob hit (see accompanying picture). This might be the go-to for this neighborhood and that's fine, but for someone outside looking in, it was horrifying. I felt bad for my co-workers traveling with me, this one was on me. So growing up with real Philly Cheesesteaks, and the great debate over Pat's, Geno's, or Dellesandro's...This is the closest I've had to a real Philly Cheesesteak in a long time. Everything made to order, and a great lunch combo value, adding a small fry and soda for $1 to any sandwich! The owner was running the counter and was very friendly, and we chatted a bit about the old stoping grounds in Philadelphia. While I am all about supporting small business and drove to an unknown area based off of reviews, my experience was a disaster. First they wouldn't take our order over the phone. Once I got there they ignored me and I had to ask twice if I could order. There were only two people waiting for their food. The cook was obviously on something as the owner repeatedly told him what to make. The menu is basic. After 25 minutes and they had closed I got my order which was messed up. I heard the owner say that Door-dash never showed up so he put that cold, half made sandwich in my order. I should have said something. My best of both sandwich which is supposed to have chicken and steak was missing the chicken and half of the cheese. And we paid to have mushrooms added to both subs... nonexistent. There was no sense of urgency nor customer service whatsoever. The subs were primarily bread and the cheese was haphazardly placed. And they looked gross for lack of a better word. Totally disappointed and taken aback by the experience. There are too many other restaurants that would appreciate ours or anyone's business. read more

Ambiance: Capo is a gem in disguise. The place is honestly a little sketchy being in a half-empty strip mall in the middle of nowhere. The place is awkwardly large, the tables aren't always clean, and there is rarely anyone dining in. That said, I love this place. The times I've gone, Capo's customers and staff always greet us like we're regulars and they genuinely care about how the food turns out. Capo himself knows the name of most of the customers and some people come in just to chat with him. This place seems to be a gathering place for local members of the community and the charming character of this makes it easy to overlook some of the small stuff. Food: Capo told us he actually came from Philadelphia but this place has better cheesesteaks than any I've had there. The secret is their impeccable execution of chopped steak which has a great crispy sear all around without getting tough or losing too much moisture. They combine that with a loaf that is flavorful, hearty, and well-textured to keep things interesting. Many places use a standard sub bun that acts as nothing but a vehicle for meat to your face but this bun actually adds to the cheesesteak without being distracting. The cheese is always perfectly melted and the hot peppers actually add a mild-to-moderate level of heat without a ton of flavor which is actually a good thing in this sandwich because it lets the meat shine. I would definitely get extra meat to make the sub truly filling and could've used more mushrooms in my mushroom steak but it was a good level for most people I think. The fries were pretty good, not too greasy and surprisingly not soggy either. I've gotten carry out from here but would recommend dining in as the steam makes the seared meat and bun lose their great textures. Overall I enjoyed my experience at Capo's. It's always great to see a small business putting out tasty food that truly enriches the lives of the people that go there. Definitely give this place a try, you won't regret it! read more

Solid 4. Found this place on Yelp as the best cheesesteak in the CLE. Drove a minute to get here. It's in a plaza but has good signage in the back of the building. Ordered a large Philly with fries and a drink. Grand total-$9.99. HUH? Was truly expectingly a much larger total - I'd say he could easily charge $2.00 more and he'd still get good business. We drove about 15 minutes towards home before we couldn't stand eating the fries. Yum. I hope they are fresh cut but if not, they are still yummy. We found a parking lot close to home to eat our Sammy. We opened the wrapping to a HUGE sandwich!! We decided who would get the bigger half and I lost! Devoured within 3 minutes and wanted more.
