Solid Panda experience. This Panda is in a quite different type of area than where we usually buy Panda (in CA), but the food and experience are very much the same. Interior is bright and welcoming. Staff was helpful and friendly. We came in on a Mon night about 7pm and the drive thru was 8 cars deep and maybe 4 customers inside. Got a family meal: sides- super greens, chow mein. Entrees- grilled teriyaki chicken, Cantonese bbq brisket, orange chicken. Got to go and ate at home. Quality was very nice, definitely on par with CA and liked the new menu item the bbq brisket. Greens maybe just a little under cooked. Always love the orange chicken! What do they have in that anyway? It's sooo addictive. I ordered a bowl with orange chicken and fried rice, along with cream cheese rangoons. The orange chicken had plenty of sauce, which I really appreciated, and the fried rice was good as well. The cream cheese rangoons were solid -- they're always a good choice. The service was great, too. The woman at the drive-through window was very nice and friendly. What you would expect of a fast food Chinese restaurant. The orange chicken is to die for, you will crave it. I like to pair it with the teriyaki chicken... it's a good balance to go back and forth between them. Always fast service, and if you eat inside it's clean and minimal. The food was old and the restaurant was dirty. We showed up and there were a couple of customers already eating. The line was empty and we were served in a friendly and fast way. The lo mein was hard though - very undercooked. I've never had undercooked lo mein anywhere. We traveled far away just to have Panda Express only to be met with lukewarm entrees and undercooked noodles. To top off the experience the ice machine didn't work so I couldn't at least have bad tasting pop that was cold. We were forced to have warm bad tasting pop. The owner was also unfriendly too. If you are in the area, you are better off going to Noodles and Company instead. read more

I have a real love/hate relationship with Panda Express because some locations are great and some not so great...this one was great in my opinion. This is the first time I actually went into a store, I always use drive thru, and it was so superbly clean in there, the young lady who helped me was very polite and personable, and everything looked great. One thing that makes me mad about the different locations is the teriyaki grilled chicken, it's always inconsistent...some locations give you white meat chicken, some don't, some slice it up nice, some throw haphazard pieces in a box...it drives me crazy. It was so nice to go in today and see actual pieces of chicken breast cooked and looking fabulous...I'll be back just for that reason! read more

Panda Express is a modern take on the Chinese American fast food joint that features classic dishes such as kung pao chicken and beef and broccoli. Food - 4/5 The food here is always delicious. I'm confused reading some of the other reviews as I've never had a problem with the food's freshness or taste. I actually prefer Panda Express' food to most other chinese-american joints around. My favorite is the honey walnut shrimp and the orange chicken. Service - 4/5 The staff here is always courteous and attentive. There are times when you will have to wait a while for food because they just ran out and are making a fresh batch, but I suppose that this is common with any sort of fast food place. Outside of that the staff is always been polite and shows the utmost respect to customers. Atmosphere - 5/5 There is plenty of seating at Panda Express and unlike most fast food places the seating is not crowded. The restaurant is always very clean oh, and as a rule of thumb, I always judge a restaurants cleanliness by how clean their bathroom is. The restrooms are always clean so I take that as a good sign. It's a great place to sit down and have a good meal. Overall - 4/5 Panda Express doesn't necessarily do a whole lot different from other Chinese fast food joints, but they do have somewhat of a modern take on the classic dishes. I'm going to preface this by saying I love Panda Express. I have been to them all over the country. I was so excited when I heard Mentor was getting a location. However, after eating here, this is not up to par with any of the other Panda's I have been to across the United States. The food here is actually verging on terrible. We went inside to eat and they had just ran out of two items I wanted, I was okay with this because while I had to wait a little longer I knew it would be fresh. I ordered chow mein, sweet fire chicken, and an egg roll. The only thing that tasted okay kind of, was the egg roll. Both the chow mein and sweet fire chicken were just made, so I felt assured they would be good, nope. The Chow Mein had zero flavor, was soggy, and not good in any shape or form. The Sweet Fire chicken was overcooked, rubbery, and dry. I barely ate any of either item. Do not come to this Panda for your first Panda experience, you will be disappointed. read more

They said they shut the grille down at 8:00 (maybe the kitchen employees like to be home by 9:00?) It wasn't just the chicken teriyaki. A third of the entrees are not available. What kind of fast food restaurant shuts down the kitchen two hours before they close? It would be different if they charged half price, since you have to pick over whatever is left after the grill closes down, but the prices remain the same. Failure of management at all levels. Party of One - two of us went to lunch but paid separately. I had the Bigger Plate - 3 main courses and one side. The Chow Mein noodles were dry and tasteless. My friend had the fried rice and said the same thing. The food area is like Boston Market - everything is out and you pick what you want. Server got two things wrong in the order because she said it was loud and could not hear me. I said Orange Chicken and she served me Grilled Chicken. The Orange Chicken was good. The Honey Walnut Shrimp was ok - but all breading and the Teriyaki chicken was good. Her mushroom chicken was ok to good. She got the spring rolls - same as the one's you get at Dollar Tree - we paid two for $1.95. No sauce served with them. I had the Cheese Rangoons - one was so overdone - dry and to hard to eat. The other two were ok. We did get sauce to dip in - but had used it on the dry noodles and rice. Rangoons were $1.95 for three. If you buy the "up-grade" meats there is an additional charge - $1.25 for the shrimp. Servers were polite and pleasant. So - half our food was ok to good. The other half was tasteless, dry and hard. Bigger Plate $8.50 Cheese Rangoons - 3 for $1.95 Lipton Lemon Tea $1.95 Up-graded meat $1.25 TOTAL LUNCH BILL $14.71. The reason I am giving this location 3 starts is because they need to get it together. I can't tell you how many times I've been disappointed here. I usually go through the drive threw.. & have found multiple times that I did not receive a fortune cookie ! Once they gave me sometime I did not order and I didn't realize until I came home and was ready to eat. Another huge disappointment is when they just can't seem to get the food right. You'd think every Panda Express would taste the same, but for some reason this location tastes different. This was one of my regular (once every couple of months) lunch stops working in Chicago loop and it was never my favorite, but it was a decent standby when you wanted pseudo Chinese food and were in a hurry. Everything was always fast, but hot and fresh. THIS location is new and has a drive-thru, which is great, but during my visit for dinner around 7pm Thurs the food seemed like it had been sitting around for awhile. I ordered the sweet fire chicken - very dried out, lo mein - also very dry, no sauce at all and had a few lousy onions in it (can you add a few veggies at least?). Also, they really should offer tofu/vegetarian dishes - no eggplant and tofu here - and no tea bar which they offer at other locations I guess outside of Ohio. I'd go just for bubble tea if they sold that here! For now, I'll just stick to Imperial Dragon when I want Chinese in the area. It's better quality and almost the same price. This is not about the food, which is great. This is about an absolute failure in customer service. Placed an online order and paid on line, with pick up for 6:45. Arrived at 6:30 asked found drive thru closed, so I parked. Walked in and was 14th in line!! Only one person taking/making orders; one person cooking; one person cleaning tables; and one cashing out and helping. After waiting in line for 20 minutes got to counter and said picking up a paid online order. A new person who came to work, checked and said they need to make the two plates! Then when he started, told him they were wrong. Said the order was two bowls, not plates. He then went to a different location and found the right order. So now the order was being made. Finally the order was completed, 35 minutes after I stepped in to the location. Brought this to the attention of the person catching me out, and was told, "Oh, you could have just come to the register to get your order." I said where is that known to the customers? So I have wanted to go to Panda Express for a long time. I went with my fiancee we arrived at 7:10 on a Wednesday night. Upon entering I noticed that all of the employees looked absolutely miserable. We were greeted with dirty looks, I felt like we were disturbing the employees. I stated to the two girls at the front that I had never been to PE and had really been looking forward to it. I noticed right away that the food did not look very appealing, nor was it fresh. But I figured I would try it anyway. Big mistake. I explained I was a vegetarian, so I ordered the chow main noodles and a spring roll. Well..the noodles were barely warm and kind of hard. The spring roll was disgusting and also not fresh. I definitely won't be returning ever again. I have had microwave Chinese food that tasted better. And also, my stomach is now hurting and I feel totally grossed out. I don't recomend this place. Mentor has such a wide variety of restaurants, why would anyone choose this dive? So here I sit with an upset stomach, those people should be fired. Even mediocre Chinese/American food can be tolerable, but this stuff was not fit for human consumption. The fried rice was bland and dry....what they refer to as "chow mein", tasted as if we were grazing in a hay field. I've wondered what hay would taste like; I think I now know. We ordered potstickers and had to wait because they burnt them, complaining that "we've never made these before". The veggie spring rolls were indescribable as to how crappy they were. I'm serious, I really have no words. Someone needs to take charge of this place and properly train these kids and see what's wrong with the food quality here. This is the last time that I am going to Panda Express. I don't know who there owners or managers are but they have really cut corners on their quality. When they opened up they were delicious for the first month and then after that the quality of the food sucks. The rice is never cooked enough. It is crunchy bits of sadness and there is not flavor. Just undercooked rice and not barely cooked vegetables. I would understand that happening once, but I have been there a bunch because I thought it would get better and it did not. Then today I ordered the chow mein and to switch it up and sure as shit. The chow mein was undercooked and super chewy. This is sad because I normally love Panda Express but the poor management is showing in the food. Also 1.50 extra for the walnut shrimp and they barely give you 4 pieces of shrimp.... Rip off.
