It was date night, and after searching online for a spot to eat, we came across this cute little spot in Brooklyn. I went on there website to see if I could make a reservation, but they don't accept reservations. Just walk ins. When we arrived like I said, it's a nice small, cozy spot literally seats 20 people inside and about four or six people outside. We got seated immediately. Our waitress came over and placed two glasses of water on the table. I only wish that the water was cold. It was room temperature, which I am not a fan of. As we went over the menu we were ready to place our orders. For our appetizers I ordered the Sriracha wings and the crispy vegetable rolls for us to share and they were both fantastic and made to order and hot how I like it. The Sriracha wings were perfect and when I say perfect, I mean you could still taste the crispiness of the wings while it was doused in its Sriracha sauce....AMAZING I even dipped the vegetable rolls in the Sriracha sauce. That's how great it was. For our entrees he ordered the Four-Wheel-Drive Soup with chicken and I got the Drunken Noodles with chicken spicy of course. We both devoured our meals. Everything was delicious including our drinks which was the Malibu Beach which I enjoyed, but could've used a little more alcohol in it and he got the Thai Iced Tea. The only downside of our evening was that we could not hear ourselves speak because of the four ladies who were in there before us. They were speaking loud as if they were in a club or something. I thought we were sitting in a room with laughing hyenas. The restaurant is too small to be speaking that loud. It was ridiculous the couple who came in and sat next to me , said exactly what I was saying "why is it so loud in here?" "I can't hear myself speak" and I looked at her and shook my head and agreed. All in all I do recommend and I will be back in hopes that that loud group is not there lol. Happy eating. Cheers read more

We had an early dinner here. I ordered the drunken noodles with chicken, my friend had the basil stir fry with tiger prawn. We also ordered the lychee mocktails and the sticky rice with mango dessert. Everything was delicious. They are very strict here with the rules though, on the menu it states that they don't do any exchanges and that food items are final sale, meaning if you get something that you don't like and return it, you still have to pay for it. The waiter, Sean, was really nice, but there was another guy that had blush on his nose, that was a bit rude and not patient when we asked about the menu. The place is decorated nicely and the ambiance is nice. read more

I had a very uncomfortable experience ordering delivery from this restaurant tonight. I paid for my order with my card but did not add a tip on the card because I planned to tip the driver in cash. Shortly after placing the order, the restaurant called me asking how I planned to tip the delivery driver. I was honestly very confused and caught off guard by this question. I've worked in the service industry myself and currently run my own business, so I absolutely understand the importance of tipping and always make sure to take care of service workers. However, being told that my order could not be sent out for delivery unless a tip was added was extremely unprofessional. As a paying customer, how and when I choose to tip is my preference. You don't know if someone plans to tip in cash, and it's inappropriate to call a customer and question them about tipping before the service has even been completed. The way this situation was handled made me feel very uncomfortable. Because of this experience, I will no longer be ordering from this restaurant. Unfortunately, they've lost a customer. read more

We were able to get seated immediately for lunch which was great, and the decor/energy in the restaurant was relaxing; nice big windows and the music was not too loud. The food as delicious! We had the pork buns, pad see yew, and crispy duck over rice. The duck dish was our favorite! read more

Excellent neighborhood Thai spot with cozy, chic interior and good service. Order: - Emerald green curry with seafood and the spicy basil with tofu, both "Thai spicy" and they were both delicious. - The spicy basil had a spicy oil sheath that easily caught the skin of the juicy but still well-done tofu -- incredible. The emerald green curry had an elegant but still firmly delicious flavor profile. The seafood portions were generous, composed of your standard East Asian sea critters. read more

Went on a date last night I never tried it. The food always smells good while passing by.. it is very small, but nice ambience & full bar. appetizers, we got the calamari fritters it was pretty good. It was whole calamari rings fried a fritter extremely crispy and delicious with two sauces that were provided. course I got salmon and for my protein and the fried rice was delicious the date got the Tiger shrimp with rice and stirfry vegetables. Omg the sauce was so hot and spicy but delicious. I want to try this place to try all dishes the food is fresh tasty & quickly made. For the drinks I opted for tequila. MISC is catering to " miscellaneous " tastes thus any hungry patron can find something here to satisfy one's palate. I was trying to satisfy my craving for Thai food on my way to Brooklyn Botanic Garden thus MISC was the right choice due to proximity or so I thought... I'm also on the search for nicely priced lunch specials and knew MISC didn't offer any which to me sounded off. There are a wealth of restaurants along Franklin Avenue that offer this but I was focused on BBG nearness thus there was a trade off. I entered around 12:45 and there were no other patrons thus I had the pick of the land in this cozy atmosphere. I was served water and asked for lime but waitress served lemons."Is that ok"? How do I answer.. a Thai food eatery has limes.. I wanted just an appetizer and salad. I decided on the Crispy Vietnamese rolls but questioned the spiciness of the lime dressing on the Som Tum salad. The waitress replied "it's not spicy" but to be safe I asked for mild. The rolls came out and I let them cool a bit then cut one open to see ingredients: Vietnamese minced chicken , rice vermicelli in a wheat flour paper as noted on menu. I saw minced chicken and a green leaf, spinach? They tasted fine once they cooled off and the sweet chili sauce was good. As I'm eating the rolls, my salad was served. I had to ask for chopsticks which were brought to me. Seriously, Thai eateries serve chopsticks or at least ask diner if she prefers them to utensils. I've learned that Som Tum means a mortar and pestle is used to pound ingredients as the crushed peanuts in the salad were certainly crushed. The salad presentation was nice but I was deceived. My salad was drowning in the lime dressing due to the " generous" two pieces of lettuce that were not enough. Additionally, the dressing saturated the avocado and everything else. Hmmm my chopsticks really needed to be a spoon. Let me cut to the chase.. I'm unsure if MISC really understands customer service: 1. Why drown a little salad? Why not ask if patron wants dressing on the side? Or even better serve a slightly bigger portion. Then again, since you don't offer a lunch special, I guess this is the standard size. At $13.95 it isn't worth it. 2. There is absolutely no interaction with your customers. My waitress never asked how I liked the food, did I want more water, did I want dessert... 3. The staff seems to be conversational with each other My trade off ended up costing me $30 for lunch. ( Take a look at the pictures of my food. ). The waitress just asks me to swipe my card, again no " How was your meal?" Hey, Eastern Parkway residents you deserve much better than this. I'm still unsure how MISC has survived since 2017??????? Now I know for my next BBG visit and Thai craving, I will be walking off the beaten path. read more

If you are on Franklin and looking for an affordable and delicious meal I can't recommend it enough. I got the lunch special today with chicken, green curry and Franklin wings. The food tasted amazing, the curry was flavorful and spicy without being overpowering. You get two wings with the special and you'll wish it was twice that. I also had the island breeze to drink and that was also very tasty. The staff was attentive and the overall vibe inside was very chill and easygoing. I can't wait to give it another try. read more

Entering the space, it's very cozy with a rustic atmosphere. The music was a vibe, just loud enough for you to bop your head and still manage to have conversations without screaming. MISC stands for Miscellaneous, but to me, it stands for Mom's International South-asian Cuisine; it is because those regional dishes were by far the best in this Asian fusion restaurant. Most notably, Thai cuisine. Ambience: 3/5 Taste: 4/5 Service: 3.5/5 Value for Money: 3/5 On a cold spring day, we had: 1) Calamari Fritters - Fresh and great! Would recommend as a good starter 2) Panang Curry w/ Mixed Seafood - A must have for curry lovers 3) Thai noodle soup w/ Chicken - a lot of noodles but not a lot of veggies 4) Crispy duck over rice - Would recommend and is boneless (presentation was nice, you get 3-4 chunks and a leg) 5) Grandpa's secret over rice - a bit on the sweeter side, this uses Roast pork as the staple 6) massaman curry beef - the curries are good but the beef was on the chewy side 7) Duck in the pond - this was a solid for those who like duck and ramen! 8) Grilled pork and sticky rice - a bit on the sweeter side, tasted closer to honey than it should've been, but great flavours! (Needs more acidity/salt) Drinks: 1) Thai Iced Tea - Not good value for money and heavy on condensed milk 2) Hot Tea - Not complimentary 3.50 for a Lipton All in all, if you need a bite and your in the area, I would recommend it. Not sure if I would travel all the way here to just to have it but it does a good solid. read more

I came here with a small group for our friend's birthday and we had a really great time. I don't remember the names of anything we ordered, I just remember it all tasted amazing. The drinks were also really good. The service was great as well, our server helped us sneakily order a dessert for our friend with candles so we could sing her happy birthday. I've already been back to get the pad Thai for takeout which was surprisingly speedy and just as delicious as the first time I had it. We'll definitely keep this place in mind for the next girls night. read more

Misc is a cute neighborhood restaurant on Franklin Avenue. I enjoy the food it's really good I had some edamame which was really good and their fried chicken was nice as well too. I just went in there for a quick bite. Nothing too big. The service were really nice. The waitress are very attentive and brought my meal to me in great timing. I must say it was a little cold just because it's such a small restaurant and even though they have an extra door for the cold air not to come through. I guess that night was a really cold night but I ate my food. I enjoyed it and I will be back. read more

Hands down one of my favorite Thai places in the neighborhood. I always order the curry puffs (cost: 8.95 for 2) with the spicy basil friend rice with chicken (cost: 15.95). The chicken is always fresh and the spice level of the rice is perfect. The portion size is large enough to share with another person for the rice order. They give 2 curry puffs that are always perfectly fried. The food comes really quickly and the vibes are nice. It feels like a intimate bar setting and they have a bar located in the restaurant. I usually always sit at the front of the restaurant but there is outdoor seating as well. In terms of drinks, I love the lychee Bellini. They have happy hour prices before 8:30pm and after 8:30pm so truthfully it's almost always happy hour. Love the flavors and my food is always fresh! read more

Ambience was nice and service was fast. A bit on the pricey side for casual food but portion was decent. I think what I got was called the Thai noodle soup. I got it with chicken. The broth was great. So was the bok choy that was included. But the chicken, though a plentiful portion, was kind of dry because it's white meat. I thought the Massman curry with chicken was OK. Again, chicken was white meat. Vegetables included consisted of fingerling potatoes and avocado. read more

Established in 2017.

One evening, three accomplished Asian chefs were trying to decide on where to go to eat. All three knew Asian cuisine well and had their own different favorites and styles that they enjoyed. But they could not agree on where to go to eat. One chef wanted Pad Thai. The other a hearty bowl of Ramen, and the third craved hot Pho. They could not think of a single restaurant that would give each of them what they wanted. Their dilemma gave birth to a new and innovative restaurant. A new place where varying tastes in Asian cuisine could be enjoyed prepared to the highest standards using quality ingredients. A place for all miscellaneous tastes . . . "MISC" which they decided was the perfect name. Welcome to MISC where even the indecisively hungry can come and find something delicious and satisfying. Bon Appetite!

Usually other ramen spots already have selection of toppings in each type of bowl. So overall, my ramen was pretty standard and nothing outstanding. I do appreciate that you can add half or full serving of extra noodles for $1-2 if you want more. Also, like others mentioned, Ramen Danbo received a C health code rating. I didn't see this until halfway through my meal, but I probably would not have ate here if I saw it beforehand. Quite appalling for a restaurant that doesn't even have an extensive menu. Overall, the service is okay... I can't say I had any particular issues BUT I just felt like all the servers gave off the vibe that they just hated their jobs or something. It was just the vibe I got but it could just be me.

The space is small and cozy with a simple, comfortable design. Seating is a bit tight and close to neighboring tables, but there's nothing wrong with being snug, rght? This visit, we were seated in the back at a regular table, and I really enjoyed the extra space and more relaxed atmosphere. The ramen was excellent; rich, flavorful, and exactly what I was craving. Everything came out fresh and beautifully presented. Our waiter, Kenny, was attentive, friendly, and checked in on us throughout the meal without being overbearing. One thing you absolutely have to order is the kimchi mushrooms. They were so good that I'm still thinking about them the next day. Seriously, if Tonchin sold jars of them, I'd keep one stocked in my fridge at all times. Great food, great service, and a beautiful space. I highly recommend checking it out if you're a ramen lover.

The waitress was okay, she confirmed everyone's seating so she won't mix up our ramen. The ramen is still as good as I remember it. The individuals I support are on limited incomes and cannot afford meals from establishments such as yours, so they bring their own lunches while staff members purchase food and beverages from your business. A manager approached us and informed us that outside food was not permitted, even though purchases had been made. We were then asked to leave and eat outside in the hot weather. I understand that businesses have policies regarding outside food, and I respect the need to enforce them. However, I believe this situation could have been handled with greater compassion and understanding, given that the group consisted of individuals with disabilities who rely on packed lunches due to financial limitations. As someone who has consistently supported your establishment, I was disappointed by the lack of flexibility and empathy shown. Unfortunately, because of this experience, I will no longer be bringing my business or the individuals I support to your establishment. I hope this feedback encourages your management team to consider a more accommodating approach when serving members of the disability community in the future.

I went with 4 other people and I must say. The place is ideally for groups of 2's. I think sitting at the counter for a small group was more ideal but idk oh well. Very small restaurant. They were about to combine an extra table, but they changed their minds. Sigh. Food made up for the uncomfortable seating with small tables though... Duck roti's sauce was delicious. The Bf said it's lacking some duck flavor though. Overall, it wasn't too bad. The Bf said the pork bun was awesome though. The highlights of the food were: THE NOODLES. Whether it's Pad Thai or Pho or Ramen, the noodle weres made just right for chewing. Chewy elastic noodles in really flavorful savoring soups. I had a mixed experience here. The food was good, but the service left a lot to be desired. When I arrived, I was seated at a table while waiting for a friend. Shortly after, I was asked to move to the bar because my party had not yet arrived. Once my friend did arrive, we were still not allowed to be seated at a table and had to remain at the bar, which was frustrating and inconsistent. Additionally, the service at the bar was disappointing. The bartender was noticeably rude and had an unwelcoming attitude, which made the experience uncomfortable. Had an amazing dining experience at MISC Thai Restaurant! Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor. The Green Fish Curry was rich and perfectly balanced, the Crispy Pork Belly Basil Fried Rice was indulgent and full of depth, and the Shrimp Summer Rolls were fresh and light. Got delivery from here this evening and I was very impressed! I had the Massaman curry with duck and Drunken noodles with jumbo shrimp. Also the Thai iced coffee was great. It was the perfect level of spiciness, they got the order correct, and even threw in some chili flakes as requested. The food arrived still warm even though it's 9 degrees outside! Not every restaurant serves Lunch Specials so it's still nice to patronize places that do Not so Delightful: 1. Pad Kee Mao (aka Drunken Noodles), chicken $15.00 Stir-fried flat rice noodle, bamboo shoots, garlic, basil, fresh chili, onion, carrot, string bean, bell pepper, long hot chili The flat rice noodle quantity was sufficient, but minimal and there were too much onion, insufficient string bean, two paucity pieces of carrot. I dislike bamboo shoot which is not a standard ingredient for this particular entrée. I think the bamboo shoot tainted this entrée. I am a traditionalist conservative which bean sprouts is a good substitute variation for bamboo shoot vegetable including string bean. This entrée is my favorite default and as a caveat, if any Thai restaurant or cafe do not offer on their menu I refuse entry to patronize. This entrée enticed my interest and embedded the lunch meal menu for the reasonable price. I personally despise and do not consume spicy hot foods, but occasionally consume mild or very mild in the smallest measurement of the Scoville scale which I specifically requested, but received medium hot spicy. The waitress forewarned me the intense heat level on the Scoville scale as Thai cultural spicy with two or more bird's eye chilies for a high level of spiciness. The spiciness of chili peppers were, in my opinion, medium spicy. Despite the intense medium heat spiciness, the stir-fried noodles lacked flavor with, tender chicken, minimal vegetables, and Thai basil in a bland taste. I wish I chosen shrimp as the protein. Pad Kee Mao sustained my hunger pangs and ate my fill. When eating Thai intense heat spicy foods, I visualize to think of the TV segment "Niall Horan & James Corden Take On Hot Wings" on "The Late Late Show with James Corden" in March, 2020. High heat spicy foods! Thai ice tea, large $3.00 This was a delight and neutralized the heat spiciness because it contains milk. It was served chilled in a large highball glass. Samyan is a Thai cafe located in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn, NYC and accessible via MTA NYC Transit C local train at Clinton-Washington subway station. This cafe is a independently owned and operated, thankfully. The waitress did check-in with me during my meal for attentive customer service. The atmospheric conditions were a simple small dine-in cafe. There were many paintings, portraits hanging on their walls of white subway tiles. Gold metallic metal chopsticks and fork are provided. If utensils are gold then the interior cafe should contain these "gaudy" feature extensive gold elements, including gilded moldings and furniture. Peony rose are very simply and made pretty table centerpiece decorations. Takeout menu and business cards are available for grabs. I did received my sales receipt. At the bottom of the sales receipt there is a suggested gratuity in intervals of 18%, 20% and 22% where customers do not have to perform math calculation. I paid $23.00 in cash as the waitress' informative knowledge of the ingredients and preparation of the heat level on the Scoville scale.
