Solid Thai spot right at the borderline of Crown Heights and Prospect Heights. Relatively spacious interior with a decorated front of the house and cozy back room. Extensive menu with plenty of noodle, rice, curry, and all other in-between Thai options! What we got: - Rock Shrimp (app): Perfect shareable dish between 2 people! The sauce is a bit sweet, but it goes well. Overall, tasty! - Duck Roti Wraps (app): Another great starter! I really liked the sweet sauce that was drizzled on the plate, yum! - Fried Rice with Crispy Pork (entree): Classic Thai dish that was very good! Prob my FAVE of the things we got! Slight spice, but very tolerable and it doesn't take away from the great flavor! - Pad Thai with Cod (entree): This one was a bit of a miss for me. The noodles were a bit sweeter than I'd like and I would've loved if they added egg and bean sprouts to the noodles to dress it up a bit more. My least favorite dish, but huge portion size! Overall, we enjoyed our time at Misc! Staff were friendly and very attentive as well. Next time I return, I'd love to sit at the front of the house for a brighter, livelier space!

This place is definitely top 5 on my Thai list. Located in crown heights I stopped in on a Saturday evening, no wait straight to a table. Great customer service. The drinks are so delicious and refreshing I had the lychee martini so well made. For starters I tried the crispy chicken stirring rolls, and the calamari 10/10 the dipping sauce paired with was so tasty. I had the crispy pork over Basil fried rice spicy. Yum yum and yum, large portion great taste, my cousin had the fried whole branzino it was so nice and crispy tender on the inside fresh vegetables. Cute ambiance great for a date night, birthday dinner, groups. Highly recommend

Reservation recommend. 90 minutes dining period. Strict will not seat you till all of your party arrives policy. Our experience here was excellent. Having not made a table reservation (we had just been walking by and decided on this place) they accommodated us. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Food was fantastic. Fresh ingredients, very flavorful and they can adjust spicy heat levels according to your preference. The menu is like a magazine, full of photos for those who like visual aspects. Its a busy restaurant, small in the front and they have an additional space in the back . The place was packed and if you managed to look around you'll see everyone enjoying the food. It's bustling with take out orders, delivery guys, waitstaff checking on guests. This place is doing it right. The drinks we had were also very delicious. A good variety of cocktails and you can order mocktails to go (no alcoholic drinks to go). We had the Spicy Thai Basil with triple fried duck. Of course I ordered the spicest level. Yes it satisfied my craving. Also enjoyed the pork Belly with basil fried rice. My daughter ordered the lava fish - sweet chillie sauce , she loved it. Personally sweet for my liking but thats because I like spicy more. The fish was delectable and tender. The sirracha wings were equally fantastic. There is a good variety of dishes and vegetarian options. I've already ordered take out twice since my first visit. I'll shamelessly be a regular here.

The food here is always good and comes out super fast. The duck in the pond is always good, but this time I got Mama Jo's special, which was kind of like pho but with a bunch of different proteins in it which was cool. The service is always good, and the servers are nice and attentive. It's super clean and cozy inside, pretty small but that's the neighborhood

The drunken noodles were so good with just enough spice to really bring it to life! big fan of the green beans in it, still a little crunchh but didn't mind it for more texture! We got the Mama J'0 dish and my friend said it was the best tom yum he has had so far! The shrimp were cooked really nice and the pork belly was a great addition too. The moscow mule came in the cutest mug with an elephant trunk as the cup handle! really loved their non alcooholic drink Ginger Tamarind. It was bursting with flavor and I even ate the candidaed ginger that it came with!! The drink menu has a lot of options and is very nice looking too. The Itim Boran has a lot of coconut flavor too it and the scoops of ice cream in the cup were big scoops. The sticky rice at the bottom was great for a textural contrast but also provided a bit of a saltiness to pair with the sweetness. It had some crunchy peanuts on top too that went well with it. This place is around a lot of other food options and not foo far from the trains so it is pretty easy to get to. Very cute inside in the front and surprised to find there's a back room down the hall too. The service was ok, nice people but maybe because we were im the back they didn't check on us as much or refill waters too often etc. All of the ither tables in the back were full too so maybe they were just busy. Would recommend a group of 2-4 to come here but if a bigger party then let them know ahead of time.

If you've got a big appetite, MISC serves the largest Pad Thai I've ever seen in NYC, loaded with triple-cooked duck. When it hit the table, not only were we in awe, but so were the tables around us. It could easily feed a small village! And here came the dessert--the sticky rice dessert got TWO generous scoops of coconut ice cream!? The restaurant is small and cozy, with a dining area in the back that feels more intimate. It's clearly a neighborhood favorite, as it filled up quickly during the dinner rush. ＊Franklin Wings $13.95 I ate five fried wings all by myself. It was impossible to stop eating. Glazed in a sticky, caramelized peanut sesame sauce, they were incredibly tender, juicy, and SPICY. ＊Duck Roti Wraps $12.95 Each wrap was filled with duck, veggies, cucumbers, wrapped in toasted warm roti. They were saucy and savory, though on the pricey side for just two wraps. ＊Pad Thai with Triple Cooked Duck $30.95 If you have a normal appetite, this pad thai can easily stretch into two or three meals. They definitely didn't hold back on the duck. The generous pieces completely covered the dish on a large plate. The duck was tender with a slight crisp on the skin. I also loved the flavor and texture of the noodle itself. ＊Emerald Green Curry with Chicken $17.95 It might not have looked as insta-worthy as the other dishes, but my bf devoured the entire green curry in seconds. The thick, spicy and rich curry sauce was a literal "rice thief". Coconut Sticky Rice $12.95 You can choose between coconut or green tea ice cream. The coconut flavor was quite mild imo. The sticky rice was served warm, with steam still rising from the cup (dig in before the ice cream melts!!). The contrast between the hot rice and cold ice cream was very enjoyable. We also got Lychee Thai Tea ($7.95) and Purple Lemonade ($9). Just a note that their drinks are on the sweeter side, and sugar level is fixed.

This is such a hidden gem! The space is beautiful, the front feels moody and intimate with deep blue walls, while the back is bright and fun with a pink floral wall and deep green chairs. Perfect for both date night and cute hangs with friends! I'm a huge duck lover, and MISC did not disappoint. The Duck Roti Wraps were crispy on the outside, juicy and flavorful on the inside. The roti added the perfect buttery crunch to the tender duck. The Triple-Cooked Duck Pad Thai was a must-order. The richness of the duck paired beautifully with the slightly chewy noodles. Here's everything we ordered: * Duck Roti Wraps * Chicken Puff - another of my fav * Papaya Salad * Triple-Cooked Duck Pad Thai * Mango Sticky Rice - my fav Thai dessert * Cocktails: Just a Minute + Purple Love Every dish was flavorful and well-balanced, and the cocktails were refreshing, pretty, and fun.

MISC Thai in Brooklyn totally blew me away. Everything we had was packed with flavor and just so well done. You can tell the chefs put a lot of love and creativity into the food--it's not your average Thai spot. The Supreme Ribs were super tender with this amazing char and a really tasty BBQ sauce. The Papaya Salad had the perfect mix of spicy, sweet, and tangy--so refreshing. I'm still thinking about the Khao Soi--those chicken wings in the curry sauce with noodles and crispy wonton on top? Unreal. And the Massaman Curry with Duck was next-level. The duck was perfectly cooked and the combo of coconut, avocado, and curry spices was so good. The space is cute and cozy, and the staff was super friendly. Also, they have a great lunch special during the week--I'll definitely be back for that. Highly recommend if you're in the area!

This food was SO. GOOD. I was visiting a friend in the neighborhood and we stopped by Misc for an early dinner. My friend ordered the curry and I got the pad Thai. The indoor seating is cute, and there is outdoor seating, as well. The bar is nice, and all the employees are very sweet. The menu is large and has a large font size; very easy to read. A bunch of dishes have pictures on the menu, as well. The pad Thai was delicious and has yummy veggies like squash and snow peas. It was so tasty! The curry my friend ordered was also flavorful and amazing. I'd definitely be open to ordering it next! The restaurant is on Franklin Street, very close to the subway. I highly recommend!

So, here's the thing, the space is small and you'll be sitting closely to others. But, I personally feel that's part of the charm. The cozy, bustling vibe truly makes it feel like a true hidden gem. And the best part? The food holds its own against some of the top Thai restaurants in NYC. The food is bursting with flavor and the portion size is generous. Every dish I tried was amazing (check out the pics!), and the drinks were just as impressive. MISC is an absolute standout!

I will say the food was pretty decent, and I definitely think this place has a great happy hour special. However, I ordered the lychee mojito pitcher, and it was absolutely disgusting--I couldn't even drink it. It tasted like straight simple syrup. As for the food, I got the lava wings, which were pretty decent. Update after owner response: I was a bit surprised to see the owner respond to my review, especially since I noticed they don't seem to reply to others. Unfortunately, the tone of the response came across as defensive rather than constructive. Phrases like "you had every opportunity to mention it during your visit" and "you are not obligated to return" felt dismissive and unprofessional. As a customer, I think it would have been more appropriate to acknowledge the feedback and offer a more gracious response like: "We're sorry to hear the pitcher wasn't to your liking. We appreciate your feedback and will use it to improve." Customer experience doesn't end when the check is paid--it's also about how feedback is received and addressed.

Great food, kind service. A great Thai spot if you're a local in the area, although if you're like me commuting from Queens I can't quite tell you the food here is worth dropping what you're doing to make the trek. The entree portions here are HUGE which is a plus! And they have SOO many options. I liked the fried fish protein option, which I ordered with my pad thai. Quite good. It came with 2 types of dipping sauce for the fish - a soy sauce-based one and a sweet chili. I can only speak for the pad thai, but the fish isn't seasoned the same as the pad thai noodles, and meant to be eaten with the side sauces.

02/22/25; Happened upon an IG reel and added to my list. Delicious food, great customer service and yummy drinks. Folks I was not prepared for all this delicious and the savory onslaught to my tastebuds. Duck roti wrap: Delicious. Great blend of the veggies and the duck. Supreme Ribs: Was not ready for such a large portion. Savory fall off the bone. Grilled Pork and Sticky Rice: By far my favorite. Pork was tender well seasoned and flavor was superb. Pad See Ew with shrimp: Another good dish. Also tasty and good choice to order. Garlic Sauce with Shrimp Sauce so well done honestly just the shrimp and veggies were delicious didn't really need the rice. Passion in You: Saw this after I ordered my drink and quickly changed my order. I love anything Passionfruit and Prosecco and their combination was perfect. I truly enjoyed. Old Fashioned: My friend enjoyed. I took a sip wasn't bad. These types of drinks aren't for me. But if this is your style you will enjoy. Cozy intimate neighborhood gem. They are pretty busy and popular. Also good amount of people doing pickups. I think the prices are reasonable. Note there is a 18% auto gratuity. But they do an amazing job all around so it didn't bother me. Can't wait to return to work my way down the menu.

It was date night, and after searching online for a spot to eat, we came across this cute little spot in Brooklyn. I went on there website to see if I could make a reservation, but they don't accept reservations. Just walk ins. When we arrived like I said, it's a nice small, cozy spot literally seats 20 people inside and about four or six people outside. We got seated immediately. Our waitress came over and placed two glasses of water on the table. I only wish that the water was cold. It was room temperature, which I am not a fan of. As we went over the menu we were ready to place our orders. For our appetizers I ordered the Sriracha wings and the crispy vegetable rolls for us to share and they were both fantastic and made to order and hot how I like it. The Sriracha wings were perfect and when I say perfect, I mean you could still taste the crispiness of the wings while it was doused in its Sriracha sauce....AMAZING I even dipped the vegetable rolls in the Sriracha sauce. That's how great it was. For our entrees he ordered the Four-Wheel-Drive Soup with chicken and I got the Drunken Noodles with chicken spicy of course. We both devoured our meals. Everything was delicious including our drinks which was the Malibu Beach which I enjoyed, but could've used a little more alcohol in it and he got the Thai Iced Tea. The only downside of our evening was that we could not hear ourselves speak because of the four ladies who were in there before us. They were speaking loud as if they were in a club or something. I thought we were sitting in a room with laughing hyenas. The restaurant is too small to be speaking that loud. It was ridiculous the couple who came in and sat next to me , said exactly what I was saying "why is it so loud in here?" "I can't hear myself speak" and I looked at her and shook my head and agreed. All in all I do recommend and I will be back in hopes that that loud group is not there lol. Happy eating. Cheers read more

Excellent neighborhood Thai spot with cozy, chic interior and good service. Order: - Emerald green curry with seafood and the spicy basil with tofu, both "Thai spicy" and they were both delicious. - The spicy basil had a spicy oil sheath that easily caught the skin of the juicy but still well-done tofu -- incredible. The emerald green curry had an elegant but still firmly delicious flavor profile. The seafood portions were generous, composed of your standard East Asian sea critters. read more

Went on a date last night I never tried it. The food always smells good while passing by.. it is very small, but nice ambience & full bar. appetizers, we got the calamari fritters it was pretty good. It was whole calamari rings fried a fritter extremely crispy and delicious with two sauces that were provided. course I got salmon and for my protein and the fried rice was delicious the date got the Tiger shrimp with rice and stirfry vegetables. Omg the sauce was so hot and spicy but delicious. I want to try this place to try all dishes the food is fresh tasty & quickly made. For the drinks I opted for tequila. Sunrise was a delicious my date got a Mojito. He didn't like it and returned it for an old-fashioned and at the end I got a lychee martini which the waiter advised! Definitely returning read more

If you are on Franklin and looking for an affordable and delicious meal I can't recommend it enough. I got the lunch special today with chicken, green curry and Franklin wings. The food tasted amazing, the curry was flavorful and spicy without being overpowering. You get two wings with the special and you'll wish it was twice that. I also had the island breeze to drink and that was also very tasty. The staff was attentive and the overall vibe inside was very chill and easygoing. I can't wait to give it another try. read more

Entering the space, it's very cozy with a rustic atmosphere. The music was a vibe, just loud enough for you to bop your head and still manage to have conversations without screaming. The service was quick and hospitable. The food was delicious, good portions, and fairly priced. All in all, would go back again!!! read more

MISC is catering to " miscellaneous " tastes thus any hungry patron can find something here to satisfy one's palate. I was trying to satisfy my craving for Thai food on my way to Brooklyn Botanic Garden thus MISC was the right choice due to proximity or so I thought... I'm also on the search for nicely priced lunch specials and knew MISC didn't offer any which to me sounded off. There are a wealth of restaurants along Franklin Avenue that offer this but I was focused on BBG nearness thus there was a trade off. I entered around 12:45 and there were no other patrons thus I had the pick of the land in this cozy atmosphere. I was served water and asked for lime but waitress served lemons."Is that ok"? How do I answer.. a Thai food eatery has limes.. I wanted just an appetizer and salad. I decided on the Crispy Vietnamese rolls but questioned the spiciness of the lime dressing on the Som Tum salad. The waitress replied "it's not spicy" but to be safe I asked for mild. The rolls came out and I let them cool a bit then cut one open to see ingredients: Vietnamese minced chicken , rice vermicelli in a wheat flour paper as noted on menu. I saw minced chicken and a green leaf, spinach? They tasted fine once they cooled off and the sweet chili sauce was good. As I'm eating the rolls, my salad was served. I had to ask for chopsticks which were brought to me. Seriously, Thai eateries serve chopsticks or at least ask diner if she prefers them to utensils. I've learned that Som Tum means a mortar and pestle is used to pound ingredients as the crushed peanuts in the salad were certainly crushed. The salad presentation was nice but I was deceived. My salad was drowning in the lime dressing due to the " generous" two pieces of lettuce that were not enough. Additionally, the dressing saturated the avocado and everything else. Hmmm my chopsticks really needed to be a spoon. Let me cut to the chase.. I'm unsure if MISC really understands customer service: 1. Why drown a little salad? Why not ask if patron wants dressing on the side? Or even better serve a slightly bigger portion. Then again, since you don't offer a lunch special, I guess this is the standard size. At $13.95 it isn't worth it. 2. There is absolutely no interaction with your customers. My waitress never asked how I liked the food, did I want more water, did I want dessert... 3. The staff seems to be conversational with each other My trade off ended up costing me $30 for lunch. ( Take a look at the pictures of my food. ). The waitress just asks me to swipe my card, again no " How was your meal?" Hey, Eastern Parkway residents you deserve much better than this. I'm still unsure how MISC has survived since 2017??????? Now I know for my next BBG visit and Thai craving, I will be walking off the beaten path. read more

I came here with a small group for our friend's birthday and we had a really great time. I don't remember the names of anything we ordered, I just remember it all tasted amazing. The drinks were also really good. The service was great as well, our server helped us sneakily order a dessert for our friend with candles so we could sing her happy birthday. I've already been back to get the pad Thai for takeout which was surprisingly speedy and just as delicious as the first time I had it. We'll definitely keep this place in mind for the next girls night. read more

first the place is real small they had people eating at the door I felt bad for the people that was seating there because every time somebody walks in they brush against the back of their chair second, they charge 20% on sitting there for a party of five for a party of 1 to four people its 18 % you will never see it.on the menu the place is dark and the lettering is pale on the menu people won't notice it the server was rude the snippy and when I asked to change a drink, I was rudely told that I couldn't change my drink because it was a final sale he not a clothing he say I could add to the drink like more water or lemon juice refused to replace it or even get her another drink he just kept saying fina sale . MISC stands for Miscellaneous, but to me, it stands for Mom's International South-asian Cuisine; it is because those regional dishes were by far the best in this Asian fusion restaurant. Misc is a cute neighborhood restaurant on Franklin Avenue. I enjoy the food it's really good I had some edamame which was really good and their fried chicken was nice as well too. I just went in there for a quick bite. Nothing too big. The service were really nice. The waitress are very attentive and brought my meal to me in great timing. I must say it was a little cold just because it's such a small restaurant and even though they have an extra door for the cold air not to come through. Hands down one of my favorite Thai places in the neighborhood. I always order the curry puffs (cost: 8.95 for 2) with the spicy basil friend rice with chicken (cost: 15.95). The chicken is always fresh and the spice level of the rice is perfect. The portion size is large enough to share with another person for the rice order. They give 2 curry puffs that are always perfectly fried. The food comes really quickly and the vibes are nice. It feels like a intimate bar setting and they have a bar located in the restaurant. I usually always sit at the front of the restaurant but there is outdoor seating as well. In terms of drinks, I love the lychee Bellini. Ambience was nice and service was fast. A bit on the pricey side for casual food but portion was decent. I think what I got was called the Thai noodle soup. I got it with chicken. The broth was great. So was the bok choy that was included. But the chicken, though a plentiful portion, was kind of dry because it's white meat. I thought the Massman curry with chicken was OK. One evening, three accomplished Asian chefs were trying to decide on where to go to eat. All three knew Asian cuisine well and had their own different favorites and styles that they enjoyed. But they could not agree on where to go to eat. One chef wanted Pad Thai. The other a hearty bowl of Ramen, and the third craved hot Pho. They could not think of a single restaurant that would give each of them what they wanted. Their dilemma gave birth to a new and innovative restaurant. A new place where varying tastes in Asian cuisine could be enjoyed prepared to the highest standards using quality ingredients. A place for all miscellaneous tastes . . . I do appreciate that you can add half or full serving of extra noodles for $1-2 if you want more. Also, like others mentioned, Ramen Danbo received a C health code rating. I didn't see this until halfway through my meal, but I probably would not have ate here if I saw it beforehand. Quite appalling for a restaurant that doesn't even have an extensive menu. Overall, the service is okay... I can't say I had any particular issues BUT I just felt like all the servers gave off the vibe that they just hated their jobs or something. It was just the vibe I got but it could just be me.

The space is relatively small, with a line inside and outside and a few tables outside. The length of the line and wait time varies based on the time of day and if you go on a weekday vs weekend. Go early if you don't want them to sell out of anything or purposely go a little later if you want one of their lunch sandwiches on focaccia. I have had the tomato and garlic focaccia twice now and each time it has been exceptional. Minor critique, the slices of garlic could be a bit smaller. I also had the shakshuka focaccia which is divine and I would absolutely recommend both. I need to come back to try their sandwiches as well. I am not a sweets person, but everyone I know loves their pastries. Getting someone a gif tcard here makes for a great gift.

I'm usually more of a savory girlie but all the sweet items we tried were great, especially the rhubarb croissant and the earl grey morning bun. I really enjoyed the focaccia sandwiches (smoked salmon and pea/mint/feta were elite) and the artichoke green garlic slice. The flavor of the sesame stirato was excellent but the bread itself was a tad too chewy for the filling we got with it (tuna salad), so that style probably works better with the jambon beurre. Will definitely be on the rotation whenever I'm in the city -- would love to try some of their seasonal/limited edition items one day, though not sure if I have it in me to brave the lines that can form on the weekends, lol! We'll see :)

There's a button to press when you need service, and our waiter was always quick to come after we pressed it. Ambiance: The restaurant is a good size with tables sectioned off into small "rooms". There are two private rooms downstairs that fit about 6-7 people each. The rooms are adjoining and good for large groups. Seating downstairs is the Japanese-style tables where you put your legs into a pit under the table. Decor and ambiance is very nice, and seating is comfortable. It was an absolute lifesaver that kept the girls happily entertained. And the food was absolutely worth savoring. We kicked things off with a round of handrolls--salmon avocado, spicy salmon, and yellowtail--which were perfectly crisp and packed with fresh fish. I went all in on the Salmon Lovers set, and it was an absolute dream. It came with a massive, beautiful spread of salmon sushi, seven thick pieces of melt-in-your-mouth sashimi, a salmon avocado roll, a bright kani salad, and a really savory piece of grilled salmon. We also shared the Ysukiji sushi platter, which featured a gorgeous, high-quality assortment of cuts, while the Smoked Chicken bento box was a huge hit, offering fantastic cooked flavors and generous portions. The room we were in mimicked a traditional Japanese room where everyone had to sit on the floor and put their legs under the table. It was fun for the younger people but it was difficult for the elders to sit down and get back up. The DJ (DJ Stretch) on the rooftop was amazing and played a lot of old school music from different genres. The venue was packed on Valentines day (2025). I went with 4 other people and I must say. The place is ideally for groups of 2's. I think sitting at the counter for a small group was more ideal but idk oh well. Very small restaurant. They were about to combine an extra table, but they changed their minds. Sigh. Food made up for the uncomfortable seating with small tables though... Duck roti's sauce was delicious. The Bf said it's lacking some duck flavor though. Overall, it wasn't too bad. The Bf said the pork bun was awesome though. The highlights of the food were: THE NOODLES. Whether it's Pad Thai or Pho or Ramen, the noodle weres made just right for chewing. Chewy elastic noodles in really flavorful savoring soups. I have to say the Pad Thai was the best I've had in ... a really really long time. Someone in the group ordered the Grandpa's secret noodle soup. It wasn't that appealing nor was it great. I had a mixed experience here. The food was good, but the service left a lot to be desired. When I arrived, I was seated at a table while waiting for a friend. Shortly after, I was asked to move to the bar because my party had not yet arrived. Once my friend did arrive, we were still not allowed to be seated at a table and had to remain at the bar, which was frustrating and inconsistent. Additionally, the service at the bar was disappointing. The bartender was noticeably rude and had an unwelcoming attitude, which made the experience uncomfortable. Overall, while the food was enjoyable, the service significantly impacted my experience. I hope management addresses these issues moving forward. read more

This place is racist and rude and will give you the worst customer service ever. The food is okay but the servers and management entitlement can go to hell. I cannot wait till they are shut down . They do not deserve your business or hard earn money ! They do not know how to treat people and i will find a way for them to feel the way they have made my friends and family feel . Had an amazing dining experience at MISC Thai Restaurant! Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor. The Green Fish Curry was rich and perfectly balanced, the Crispy Pork Belly Basil Fried Rice was indulgent and full of depth, and the Shrimp Summer Rolls were fresh and light. Got delivery from here this evening and I was very impressed! I had the Massaman curry with duck and Drunken noodles with jumbo shrimp. Also the Thai iced coffee was great. It was the perfect level of spiciness, they got the order correct, and even threw in some chili flakes as requested. The food arrived still warm even though it's 9 degrees outside!
