Very friendly and accommodating at the start. We were given a booth and the open atmosphere was nice. The oysters were excellent and easily the highlight of the meal. Unfortunately, service and execution slipped as the evening went on. Plates were dropped at the table without much care, and the fish of the day (swordfish) came out slightly overcooked. The haddock in the fish-and-chips was actually fantastic, but the fries arrived cold--not lukewarm, but cold. Staff did replace them, which I appreciated, though the second portion was noticeably smaller with tiny fries. Meh. The coleslaw felt like an afterthought, and I ended up leaving much of my meal unfinished. Service timing became the biggest issue. Our waitress suggested dessert and we ordered the key lime pie (heard it was bomb!), but it never arrived. Even after spoons were set down and we waited about 15 minutes. The restaurant wasn't particularly busy, yet staff seemed scattered and no one checked back on drinks or follow-ups. Aside from our initial round, we were never offered another beverage. At that point, I was just kind of bummed and wanted to leave. Prices are reasonable and there's potential here, the seafood itself shows promise, but the overall experience felt disorganized and inattentive. With so many staff on the floor yet little engagement, it's hard to see myself returning when there are equal or better options in town. Oh I wanted to love this place so much! I watched it coming to life over the last few months and was so excited to try it! So why the one star? Well... Tucson isn't exactly full of sub-par restaurants. But this was sub-par; at best. I ordered the 8oz filet. I ordered it medium rare. If came out well done; I asked for a side of asparagus and was given aside of zucchini and peppers. The mashed potatoes were honestly embarrassingly bad. Dry, sad, no seasoning. This place clearly hasn't heard of salt. And the martini I ordered tasted like nothing in the front; and all bad in the back. The service was all pretty horrible. Barely checking on us. No steak knife. My friends ordered the ribs and cited they were "okay." And my other friend had pasta with steak. Also cited it was just "fine." Also it is SO loud. I know so many reviews cite this but I cannot stress to you enough how bad it is. Overall if this space is going to survive-- major changes will have to be made in all areas. This is my new favorite in Tucson. It feels like you're in a 5 star hotel but it's obviously not. The bar area is chic and the service is genuine. I love the green chile cornbread and the oysters. I hosted a private business event here on 3/3 and was overcharged by $400. I notified the restaurant the very next day, yet they refused to correct their mistake or issue a refund. I presented several reasonable solutions, and they still refused to make it right. CHECK YOUR ITEMIZED RECEIPT BEFORE YOU LEAVE--this restaurant does not take responsibility for their billing errors. The private event space is also extremely poorly designed. The kitchen is directly next to the room, and the noise was loud enough to disrupt my guests and the presenter. I had to ask the manager to intervene because it was that distracting. On top of that, our event was delayed by 10 minutes due to a technical issue that the manager couldn't resolve. They had to call their tech person to come on-site. For a venue that claims to host multiple private events each week, this level of unpreparedness is unacceptable. Overall, this experience was unprofessional, disruptive, and mishandled from start to finish. I would not recommend this venue for any type of private event. read more

Oh, Miramonte. Where do I even start? My fiancé ordered the pan-seared salmon, and what arrived was 100% white fish -- not pink, not flaky salmon, just a pale imposter. We pointed it out, and the waitress said "yeah, I thought it looked funny", and took it back to the kitchen. The chef's response? "Oh no, that's salmon -- it's just really pale." Really pale?! That wasn't salmon; that was white fish in witness protection. The level of gaslighting here could power the Tucson Electric grid. Then Manager Ryan came over -- and instead of fixing it, he doubled down on the lie. No apology. No offer to remake it. Just smug insistence that we were wrong. For a so-called "gourmet restaurant," this was shameful. Whether they ran out of salmon or hoped no one would notice, it's dishonest and insulting. We left hungry, irritated, and amazed that anyone thought this was acceptable. Tucson has too many great places to eat to waste your money here. Miramonte and Manager Ryan should be embarrassed -- and maybe invest in a fish chart. read more

Food was incredible We order the deli tray for an App, then the french dip sandwich and the ribs. There was a generous portion of meat on the french dip. The broich bun was also yummy. Went with out of town friends. I had never even heard of it, which is unusual, as I like to check out new places and people ask me where to go all the time. Then I saw it was same folks as Locale, which is not a fave. But I liked this much more. Other than the fact that it was very loud (reason for 4 stars) and not very crowded to be so loud. 3 out of 6 wear hearing aids and were having a hard time. But service was excellent and everyone liked their food. There was fish and chips, huge pile of fish, 2 salmons, cleaned their plates, 2 French dips. I had a burger, it is my favorite thing and I try them everywhere that has them. It was delish, I asked for med rare and it actually came that way. Their coleslaw is quite tasty and I sampled some fries that were nice and crispy. I'm ready to go have another burger. read more

Great decor, friendly staff, nice cornbread but the rest of the menu...not interesting, contemporary or exciting. Also, there is one -- one -- vegetarian item on the menu. Seriously? In 2025? In Tucson? That one dish is rigatoni with asparagus and while it wasn't terrible, it was absolutely swimming in olive oil, had very little asparagus in it and there was almost no taste to the dish. came for lunch. the bartender was great, but there was a misunderstanding with what we ordered. we asked for the kale and it came out the quinoa salad, no big deal- until the manager came over and accused us of lying, for what reason i am not sure. he had so much attitude and was so rude that it totally turned us off to this place and really made us feel bad for no reason. totally ruined the experience. plus we actually ordered the kale!!! i think his name was bryan or something. there is no reason he should be managing a restaurant if he thinks its okay to act like that towards people. drinks were good, kale salad (after having to fight for it) was also good. read more

The Good * The restaurant's interior and overall layout are impressive--modern, stylish, and thoughtfully designed. * Our appetizers, beef tartare, cornbread and oysters, were well-prepared and enjoyable. * Service throughout the evening was attentive and friendly. The Bad * The menu feels outdated, which clashes with the restaurant's contemporary atmosphere. * The five onion dip and relish tray app were basically store bought onion dip with cut up veggies. * The main course selection is an odd mix of salads, sandwiches, and entrées that seem more suited to the 1990s than a modern dining experience. The Terrible * The management was the biggest disappointment. We had a reservation for 14 and were told by the hostess over the phone that the private dining room was available. She even double-checked and confirmed it was open. * Upon arrival, we were seated in the general dining area, which was fine, but when I mentioned the discrepancy, the manager came out. Instead of acknowledging the mistake, he was dismissive, arrogant, and refused to take any responsibility. * He insisted that I must be lying since a contract would have been required for the private room, and he doubled down that his staff could not have made such an error. * All I wanted was a simple apology and accountability, but instead, he escalated the situation by refusing to believe me. * After dinner, I approached him again to express my frustration, but he repeated the same stance. We optimistically went for lunch with an open mind, despite being warned about the terrible acoustics and wobbly menu. Turns out reports were accurate. The acoustics are tortuous -- the background is a harsh din of clattering dishes from the table and conversation drone that even drowns out the piped in music. People suggest that booths are better -- no. Booths cannot solve the problem of enamel painted walls, polished concrete floors, and ductwork exposed ceilings. We had difficulty hearing our server and apologetically asked her to repeat a few things. She said -- "I know, I can't hear you, either." WOW. Food: ordered the house chips + onion dip -- chips were gross -- soggy and chewy, which we mentioned, and our server immediately brought a new bowl of actually crispy chips. Waited probably 20 minutes after that before we were asked if we wanted to order entrees. We did mostly out of curiosity, as the chips + dip seemed to have the effect of dulling our appetites rather than piquing them. Fish & chips -- good except for poor decision to plate in a giant pile over coleslaw, effectively making everything soaked in coleslaw. Steak salad -- good except for general chewiness and decidedly un-exciting. Hugo-spritz -- good except for being so filled with nugget ice and soda fountain straw it was more slushy in New Jersey than cocktail in Roma. Key Lime pie -- sounded great but had it boxed up because after more than an hour, wanted to go home and be able to hear each other. The whole thing makes me a little sad. Too bad and hope they take the feedback and address the acoustics first. read more

Honestly, I'm sad to say the four stars are generous ... if I could give a 3.5 I would. I booked Miramonte right when it opened for dinner after I planned to propose to my now fiancée. I communicated the occasion at least twice when making the reservation and about three times while there in the hopes our experience would be catered to the special occasion. We arrived ten minutes early for our reservation and were directed to the bar area to get drinks and wait for our table - totally fine. We sat on a cute couch in a little area by the kitchen and bar. Loved that tbh. As I waited for my partner to use the restroom, a sharp dressed man in a suit (I'm assuming some sort of manager) clocked my situation and brought water and menus unprompted. That was very lovely and great service. The experience goes down from there. Two separate servers came to take drink orders and clearly did not communicate with eachother. The main server at that time could not answer questions about the drinks. The second man slammed down waters without looking at us. Very weird. After 25 minutes (and now 15 minutes past my reservation time) I returned to the front to inquire about seating. The hostess seemed frazzled and asked if I wanted to be seated now. Um ... yes? We were then seated at a table nearly elbow to elbow with guests and the table next to us. And while I loved the industrial modern aesthetic of the place (it was beautiful and classy) the din was outrageous. It was so so loud we could not easily converse with one another. Our server came and she was very kind, took our drink and food orders. Of note -- there is only coke, diet and sprite for sodas. We ended up ordering Prosecco glasses to celebrate and toast. Typically fine dining restaurants and even classy ones will comp a bottle for celebrations like an engagement. For heavens sake, Culinary Dropout gave me a bottle of champagne unprompted when I mentioned a job interview. Was disappointed by Miramonte not offering or comping a dessert or drink to celebrate. The hospitality was very lacking. And the youthful service team was visibly inexperienced and rattled by dinner service. I give some grace here since the restaurant is about a month old. My hope is that they'll become more intuitive and skilled with time. They're simply not there yet and it dampened the experience noticeably. Our food came quickly. We tried the onion dip, artichokes and fish and chips. Portions were huge and the food was yummy. The fish and chips batter was inconsistent. Perfect on some pieces then inedibly thick on others. Fries are fine. Coleslaw is fine. Artichoke was the highlight even if two out of three pieces were undercooked. The onion dip was good and the chips were crispy but my partner found a hair. They offered to replace the dish and comped on the bill but we opted to not take anything else and just return the dish. We did not want dessert and ultimately left with a reasonable $85 bill after tip and 35 minutes spent actually dining, and 35 minutes spent waiting for a table. Very meh. If I wasn't riding the high of my engagement, I think I'd be extremely disappointed instead of mildly dissatisfied. The four stars are for the aesthetic, fast and tasty food and reasonable prices. Everything else needs serious work. I love supporting local businesses and was excited to give Miramonte a try -- I love Locale, a restaurant by the same owners. But as of now, I wish them luck and hope they thrive through the growing pains. I won't be back for any reason other than anniversary nostalgia. It's worth going once if you're a local or in town and deciding for yourself. read more

My family and I have been very regular customers at Contigo (since it was in the original place on River) and Locale, generally we've always given them 5's and consider them go to places for special days. Had no illusions on going to Miramonte the first weekend it was open. The food was very good, my ribs and fries were excellent and my spouse liked her French dip and salad very much. Our appetizers were excellent and fresh both the shrimp and the oysters. The presentation on my ribs was nice, but not functional at all. A large layer of fries with a large container of slaw on the plate with the ribs on top of those items left a lot to be desired, go ahead and try cutting ribs like that. Ambience wise this was not a plus. The website specifically says walk ins welcome. There is no seating or waiting area other than a small bench for those waiting. The interior is all hard surfaces with very high ceilings and is very very loud, bar loud not restaurant loud. It's sterile and has no personality. My initial reaction is that the designer went o a filing cabinet and pulled some old plans did a little update and delivered them as original. We sat outside and it's obvious that the CA designer never spent time in Tucson. There is one ceiling fan and that for some silly reason hanging at the very front where no one can sit. Nothing anywhere else, no fans or mister, so good luck on those 100+degree days and nights. Our server was very good but he was also the Beverage Manager for the company. The hostesses were not good at all, their personalities were pretty bad, and not friendly or welcoming at all. The owners could start overfrom scratch with that crew. For some reason the restaurant has gender neutral stalls. That's fine but they might need to station someone there as a monitor. My wife checked two stalls and the seats were up and the floors had yellow puddles. Also my wife wasn't crazy about the whole touching the toilet seat to put it down. I'd give the food 4.5 same for the server, the design 3 but fixable and the hostesses completely replaceable. We'll give this place a shot again in 2-3 months and see if it's any better. read more

Should likely have waited for a couple of weeks before trying Miramonte. However, the owners have long experience in Tucson, so we gave it a go. It's a sleek, modern place, with hard edges, flat surfaces, lots of glass. The consequence is, deafening noise level in the main area. The separate bar has booths and seemed a little less noisy. Portions are gigantic. Prices very fair. Still working out kinks, however. We had the misfortune of landing at a table furthest from the kitchen/service counter. Combine that, with a very inexperienced server, and you wait. And wait. Water glasses stayed unfilled. Had to find a pepper mill on our own. The servers were all dressed in mourning, black on black on black. Did they know something we didn't? read more

Apart from the food, there is something called presentation of the food. I ordered fish and chips and soon after I saw this guy coming towards me with what seemed like a bunch of stuff about to fall off a plate. That was the presentation of the fish and chips. There were large pieces ( which was not bad) . Under the fish was some awful thin soaked wet fries. It is never a good idea to placed the fish on top of the fries, as it's soaked through the fries. In addition your tables are way too small. They are not adequate for the foods you serve. That's why the poor waiters and helpers come by repeatedly to remove plates from our table to give more room. Needless to say, this was a huge disappointment, as we were very excited to try this new restaurant. We will not be back read more

Good central Tucson location that is open to 11. We sat at the bar. The golden light there and the black countertops look elegant. Service was very good with friendly staff. The place is extremely noisy and I don't think it would be nice for a dinner at a table for four people. You would have to yell. But sitting with your date at the bar is lovely. Cocktails are a bit stingy for the price. French fries were bad. We could not eat them. Grilled cheese sandwich and oysters were good. We will try it again for a full dinner. read more

This really is a cool restaurant with a nice atmosphere, but dear lord it is SO LOUD that I couldn't even hear my friend who was sitting right next to me at the bar. I ordered the salmon and it was so salty that I almost turned it back. I didn't, only because the 4 bartenders we had never came and checked on us to see how our food was. Eventually, I put pepper on it and it made it manageable so I continued to eat it because I was sick of sitting in this noisy ass restaurant and wanted to leave. Not once did any of the 4 bartenders check on us and see if we were okay or ask how our food was, but once we finished eating they were able to clear our dishes and cash us out in minutes. I really would've loved service that didn't make me feel like they're just trying to get rid of us. Probably won't be coming back. read more
