Just opened today, Miopane's first location in the US. Based in Taiwan, I believe that they're known for their sweet and savory bagels. Some of the bagels are filled, and there's a wide variety of bagels to choose from, like matcha crumble, black sesame cream cheese, strawberry shortcake, chocolate hazelnut, burnt onion cream cheese, and more. They also have croissants, Basque burnt cheesecake, and focaccia sandwiches. You can also order coffee and tea drinks. Double cheese bagel ($6.75): There was cheese on top and inside the bagel but the dough was the regular plain bagel. I heated it up at home. The cheese on top became nice and crispy. The bagel was soft and chewy, softer and less dense than a NY bagel. I did enjoy the flavor, but I think it's a bit overpriced. The bagel was larger than usual though. Jalapeno cream cheese croissant ($8): There was a generous amount of cream cheese on top and that was topped by cheddar cheese, everything bagel seasoning, and jalapenos. The croissant had many thin layers. I really enjoyed this croissant. It was creamy, cheesy, spicy, and buttery. The bakery is lovely, and the customer service is exceptional. They even have free wi-fi. I'll be back to try more. read more

Came here on a Thursday morning at around 8:45am and there was already a line, albeit a short one. Can't imagine how crowded it will be on a weekend! Everyone is limited to 5 bagels per person (and has to be unique), which I think is good for crowd control and supply demand. After waiting an hour, I tried the everything smoked gouda and the matcha crumble. Unfortunately, the bread was too dry and the fillings were fairly ordinary. It felt like a "master of nothing"--not quite a bagel and not quite a donut. Old Ferry Donut's everything bagel donut is far better by comparison and masters the hybrid flavor. The viral Taiwanese bagel shop just opened in Old Town Pasadena, and I rope-dropped it to be first in line. Miopane officially opened on New Year's Day. With family in town, I came early hoping to get first pick of the pastries I'd been eyeing. Unfortunately, the green onion scallion croissants weren't ready yet--they were still baking and wouldn't be available until around 10 a.m. At opening, the selection was limited: only a few bagel flavors, and while a tray of jalapeño cheese croissants came out after I ordered, most other croissants weren't available yet. In Taiwan, Miopane has a taro salted egg bagel which was not available here. The shop itself is tiny, and the line moves slowly since you need time to browse and decide. That said, the aroma hits you immediately--everything smells incredible, and I could even smell the green onions in the oven. I ended up with the everything bagel with Gouda, the matcha crumble, the mocha crumble, and a Spanish latte. Overall, I really enjoyed the bagels. The texture was bouncy, QQ, and not dense at all--very suited to an Asian palate. The flavors weren't overly sweet, which is the ultimate Asian mom compliment. My least favorite was the matcha crumble, which surprised me. The matcha filling was grainy, more like a dim sum custard bun than a lava-style filling, so the texture wasn't for me. The Spanish latte also leaned too sweet for my taste. My strategy was to go early for the best selection, but even then, some of the most popular items weren't ready yet. There has been a line out the door every time I drive past. But on a Wednesday morning, I walked by and there was only 1 person in line so I had to try it! I quickly checked Yelp to see what was recommended, and I decided on the basil tomato bagel to eat, and the Everything bagel to take for later. The bagels looked delicious, and it was hard to decide! Sat at the window (there are about 4 stools there, and 1 communal table for about 6) and had my coffee (just an Americano, which was fine) and bagel. I was so surprised because the bagels was stuffed! It was absolutely delicious. I hadn't realized from my quick read that this was the "hook" of this particular chain. I've walked by this place sometimes and there's always a ridiculous line. I've heard great things but just could never justify waiting over an hour for a bagel Well today I was I luck! Tuesday afternoon at about 2pm I just happened to walk by while I was in Old Town doing errands and noticed there was no wait! It smelled heavenly when I walked in. I grabbed the garlicky cream cheese stuffed bagel and a sour cream and chive bagel. Saw the sticky bun and couldn't pass that up either since it was the size of my head! Everything was delish!! I've walked past Miopane so many times and the lines are always long, which honestly tells you everything you need to know. I finally got to try it today and now I completely understand the hype. First of all, the staff were all so nice and genuinely friendly. Even with how busy it was, they were welcoming and patient, which made the experience even better. The matcha? You seriously can't go wrong. It might actually be the best matcha in Pasadena... smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced. And the pastries were AMAZING. Line, there is a lines. Miles long line and what is it for? Bagels....... Yeah we drove 60 miles and saw this new joint specials in making the very best. Came from Taiwan and it was known back home and finally found their way to LA crowds. Service is amazing, everyone is greeting us with smiles, Emily was my server and she is excellent at explaining each one and told me some of her favorites. There is limit of 5 per customer which is I think fair so everyone has the chance to try em. I would suggest 1 of each flavor available in front of you since someone do love something so Yummy. I've been here consecutively for 3 weeks straight. That's how good it is. The pastries are honestly top tier. I love their Sour Cream and Onion Cream Cheese bagel. The flavor excels through and the bagel itself is crisp on the outside while being soft on the inside. Their Burrata Roasted Tomato and Pesto Focaccia sandwich is also amazing; great balance of flavors/ ingredients. I love how each item here stands out. My go to drink is their Matcha Pillow and it is my number one matcha in LA so far. It is perfectly made with the right amount of sweetness while still allowing the matcha flavor to come through. The service here is always good. Staff is always so welcoming and tries to accommodate everyone in a timely manner. When the line is wrapped around the building , it is nice to know staff cares about us getting in fast. The ambiance is great; modern while still holding that comforting chill vibe. It wasn't terrible because the line moved and the wait felt shorter because you just chat and lose track of how long you have been there. So if you want to try amazing bagels with sweet savory fillings baked inside, bring a friend and catch up. Blue bottle isn't too far to grab a cup before you wait and inside they have tea and coffee pillow lattes. The bagels I got were all good. My favorite was the strawberry shortcake. I loved the savory ones because I felt like they were a bit more QQ and moist - the everything bagel with smoked gouda, double cheese but the sweet ones also surprised me in a good way. The matcha crumble was filled with stuffing and the flavor on the mocha crumble was intense and satisfying. The bagels will run you back $6-7 each, so they're pretty pricey. I arrived at 8:20AM on a weekday and waited for exactly one hour in line. Not something I'd usually stand in line for, but I had jetlag and was awake early anyway. They only allow each customer to buy 1 of each item, but no limit on how many unique items. They only allow about 5 people inside the storefront at a time - hence the line. The interior is cute but there isn't much seating. There's one long dining table that seats about 6-8 people and some seating against the window but that's it. Really excited to try Miopane in Old Town Pasadena! Came at 9am and there was already a line out the door. In total, I waited 45 minutes from waiting in line to leaving with my purchases. I was really bummed that over half of their menu items were already sold out. I overheard an employee say that it is random when sold out items are restocked throughout the day. I hope that with time, the team can put out at least 80% of their menu items consistently. Staff are really friendly despite the long line and crowds of people and were happy to answer questions. The layout of the store is really cramped with one large communal table in the center and four stools by the window. The line snakes by the left side of the large table - the same line you have to cut across to pick up your drink after paying at the other side of the store. The stools are really uncomfortable and very easy to topple over when you try to sit on them. The pastry names on the top of the display show all the sold out items. You pay at the end along with your drink order and then you have to awkwardly find a spot to wait if there's no seat available. I got to try the mango cream cheese bagel, blueberry cream cheese croissant, cinnamon apple cream cheese bagel, and matcha pillow. Mango cream cheese bagel was really good and had chunks of mango in it. Blueberry cream cheese croissant was also very good. I usually don't like Danish/croissants but this was delicious. Cinnamon apple cream cheese bagel was good bit not my favorite. Matcha pillow was okay - it was explained like it was a double matcha but it tasted like a regular matcha latte but for $7.50. read more

Amazing bagel spot! My husband and I got three bagels: jalapeño and cheese, burnt onion, and a sharp cheddar + Gouda (forgot the name). They were amazing! The dough is so soft and fluffy, yet has a nice crisp to it. Our favorite was the jalapeño and cheese, followed by sharp cheddar, and the burnt onion. I was excited to try Miopane ever since I first saw it on social media, and it definitely lived up to the hype. I came on a Tuesday around noon and only waited about ten minutes. The owner was incredibly kind and even offered umbrellas to everyone waiting in line to block the sun, which made the wait much more comfortable. Once inside, a few items were sold out, but they restocked the ones we wanted right as we were checking out. The owner even let us switch our blueberry bagel to mango since it had just been restocked and we had not touched the food yet, which was very thoughtful. We ordered the burnt onion bagel, mango cream bagel, everything and egg breakfast croissant, maple green onion croissant, and almond croissant. For savory croissants, this place is easily one of the best I have had. The maple green onion croissant tasted just like the green onion bread I grew up eating, but elevated with a flaky croissant texture and a subtle sweetness. This alone would make me come back. The everything and egg breakfast croissant was also delicious and well seasoned. I personally prefer my eggs a bit less cooked, but that is just personal preference. The burnt onion bagel was rich, flavorful, and surprisingly moist, with a filling in the center that made it very satisfying. I would absolutely order it again. They did a great job highlighting Taiwanese flavors while adding depth to more traditional items. The mango cream bagel was also excellent. The mango chunks balanced the cream cheese perfectly and did not feel heavy. For drinks, we got the hojicha pillow and matcha pillow. Both were flavorful and not overly sweet. Half sweetness is barely sweet at all, so it is perfect for anyone who prefers less sugar. Overall, the experience was wonderful. The owner was attentive, patient, and genuinely cared about every customer. The food is not just pretty, it actually tastes amazing. Stopped by this brand new bakery in Old Pasadena, the hype is definitely real, given the long line out front. We waited almost 30 minutes just to get inside. While we were in line, someone (maybe the manager?) came out and announced they were baking more pastries and limiting customers to one baked good each to make sure everyone could try something. I get the intention, but after that wait, it felt a little restrictive. We ended up with four bagels and one chocolate croissant, totaling just over $37. The price felt steep for what we got. Unfortunately, the taste didn't quite live up to the wait or cost, nothing bad, but nothing memorable either. The croissant was decent, and the bagels were fine, just not impressive enough for the price or the line. Might be worth trying once if you're curious and don't mind the wait, but I'm not sure I'd rush back again soon. Hopefully things smooth out as they settle in! read more

I'm not a bagel person, but Miopane completely won me over with their croissants. They are incredible -- perfectly flaky, light, and buttery without being heavy. The quality of the pastry really stands out. The space feels like it's still a bit unfinished and could use more soul or warmth. I would definitely come back if there is no line! I have seen a long line on weekends but came on a Thursday afternoon and it was relatively short. There's so many pastry/bagel options with really interesting flavors. Got the matcha crumble to share with a friend and the filling had a really unique texture and flavor--almost savory.
