Finally made it out to this over hyped place for their famous bagels. The experience was a bit underwhelming overall and don't think we'll be going back anytime soon, but still a decent bagel and loved the twist on Taiwanese flavors. We parked along the pasadena streets using the Passport mobile app which is always an easy way of parking in pasadena. Only a light away from the place but by the time we parked and walked up the line grew. We went on a Saturday about 30mins before closing and thought we beat the crowd but we ended up waiting about 20mins before making it to the door. The staff seemed rushed -- likely because it was close to closing time, but as someone who worked in food you know you're supposed to give your best effort until the doors close so it was a bit disappointing to not get a smile or warm hello how are you. It was busy of course but we did feel a bit rushed by the gentlemen helping us. We clearly were first timers and took a few minutes to decide what we wanted and while picking our bagels he just seemed annoyed that we weren't fully sure what we wanted. As girls you sometimes are indecisive which we were and he seemed annoyed that we'd point to one and ask what it was then point to another and ask what the ingredients were and just felt like he wasnt interested in showcasing the bagels and wanted to hurry up and box our order to finish with us and move on. I think a bit more patience would be nice even at the end of a work shift. A smile and simple suggestion could go a long way. We go to pay and the cashier, poor thing, felt also anxious as the orders in front of us were not well labeled and she looked confused and also annoyed at her team for being disorganized. We felt bad for her but she seemed to handle the pressure well and did give us a warm greeting and a lovely goodbye which was appreciated. We tried the black sesame which we liked the most. It didn't feel like there was enough cream cheese to bread ratio and would have loved some extra cheese on the side but it was a soft and doughy bread not to strong in the black sesame which I liked. We got a few other sweet options but think their savory bagel was by far the best. As much as social media has hyped this place up. I think it was just ok and even though the staff was having an off day we did find the location cute inside with some bar stools and tables to eat. We did like the spread of choices having both savory and sweet. Didn't catch the garlic bagel in time but we think the bagels softness was enough to stand in the line to wait we just wouldn't stand in a longer line for the team here. If a noisy crowded and quick moving bakery is something that you'd be fine with, then this is a good place to grab a trendy bagel but it's not ideal for working or hanging out for long periods with friends. My friend & I have been eyeing this place since they opened so we decided to come on a Sunday morning. There was a small line at around 9/10am & we waited for 20 mins before entering the shop. The second we walked in, the small of freshly baked goods instantly hit us. We were very excited & got a small run down of the popular selections by a gentleman at the front door. We decided on the black sesame bagel & maple glazed green onion croissant. We also got two matcha clouds. They warmed up our baked goods so that we could enjoy it fresh. Personally, I didn't love our baked goods. Maybe I just chose the wrong ones but the only thing I really enjoyed was how crispy & flakey the croissant was. We waited another 15mins for our matcha. Our cloud matchas were quite yummy but there's definitely better options in LA. I was quite disappointed with my baked goods so I had a friend get me the sunny side egg croissant on a different day. I didn't know too much about Miopane, just that it is a new Asian bakery, so decided to give it a try while in Pasadena. I loved the bread. It was so chewy and bouncy. I just love chewy bagels, and the Mexican corn and the garlic bread was exactly that. Garlic bread is SUPER garlicky. Not what I'd recommend if you're on a date, lol. We also got the jalapeño cheese and matcha crumble, and they were just ok. The jalapeño cheese was not too special, and the matcha was good, but not really for me. What I really loved were their cookies. The black sesame cookie was SO GOOD! Better than any peanut butter cookie I've ever had. I also liked their regular chocolate chip cookie. Really chewy texture. BTW, if you have leftover bread, just heat them up in air fryer 400 degrees for 5-6min and they will be super crispy and chewy again. We were able to enjoy their bread for a couple of days. With a strawberry matcha, the total came out to $65ish. I don't know what I was expecting, but it seemed like a lot. Everything was pretty gourmet though, so I guess you get what you pay for. The wait on a Sat afternoon was about 30 minutes and there were about 15 people ahead of us. Not too bad. read more

Stopped by around 11AM as a recommendation from a friend. This place is a small cafe and very busy so we did have to wait a little while outside, finished up around 11:30. We came for the garlic butter bagel but the whipped strawberry bagel also looked really good so we got that as well. For a total of 3 bagels it came out to $26.86. Employees were really nice and welcoming, line was well organized and went by quickly. Ordering was a bit chaotic as it is really loud inside so any questions we had we were yelling back and forth. Everything is made fresh and looks delicious, we definitely plan to come back again to try their other items. There is seating areas on the sides and one large table with seats in the middle as well. Water is available (self served) along with disposable utensils. I really enjoyed the whipped strawberry bagel as it was super fresh and not too sweet. The strawberries on the bagel were sweet as well. I unfortunately wasn't a big fan of the garlic butter bagel despite it being their most popular. I believe they use fresh garlic (not cooked) so the aftertaste in my mouth was a bit too strong for my liking and the smell lingered for far too long. It had a very strong herb/sour taste and was also a little spicy. I probably wouldn't get it again but it's their most popular for a reason so trying it never hurts if you are interested. These bagels are quite large as can definitely be shared if you want to try a bit of everything. I'm so glad I finally got to try Miopane today! And lucky me, timing was right (thursday 11am) or hype has lessened but there was no line! Don't get me wrong, it was very busy and packed inside but thank goodness no lines out the door & winding down the block as it has been since opening 9 months ago! It's such a cute shop and staff was very friendly and quick to help. So many exciting and delicious items to choose from - I had to restrain myself on the first visit to not go too wild. I do wish they had a menu with prices or in store easily accessible. Drinkwise, I HIGHLY recommend the Black Sesame Einspanner. I would come back just for this drink, it was so freaking layered in flavor and wonderful and just $7! The best item we tried was the Pesto Egg croissant, enjoyed it but wasn't absolutely enamored. I would skip the Sesame Bagel, the filling is not very evenly distributed & quite minimal so some bites are pretty good while most are just bagel without any exciting flavor to it. The bagel itself is not flavorful so this was a miss for me. The same kind of goes for the Garlic Stuffed Bagel. Again, the filling was creamy and excellent, the bagel was so soft and lovely, but the flavor of the bagel just was not there for me on this one. Finally we had the Mexican Street Corn bagel and kind of felt the same about it - warning, it is a bit spicy (which I enjoy) and there is a lot of cilantro on it in case you have the soap aversion to that. I still plan to go back to try more of their offerings and get that amazing black sesame Einspanner again! Stopped by Miopane around 1pm and luckily there wasn't a line, which made for a pretty quick and easy stop. We ordered the coffee einspanner and sour cream onion bagel. The coffee einspanner is a safe choice, not too sweet, but also not too strong. The bagel, however, left a bit to be desired. We've been here before and actually ordered the same bagel, so we were a little surprised that the amount of cream cheese seemed noticeably lacking this time. It was definitely less than what we had during our previous visit. Otherwise, the flavors were still there and the bagel was enjoyable. Maybe some of the hype has died down since there wasn't a line when we came, but honestly, I think that's a good thing. We dropped into MioPane in Pasadena, but we came late, so there were just a few pastries and breads available. We paid roughly $16 for two breads, which felt rather costly for what we got. One of the breads had an extremely strong garlic flavor. The garlic was so strong that it felt like it was burning our throats, so it wasn't particularly enjoyable for us. We also tried a sesame bagel with cream cheese and lots of green onions. It looked nice, but the flavor was rather bitter, which my family and I didn't enjoy. Overall, the breads were okay for us. The spot is pretty cramped, even inside although there is a bench on the window seating and a table, it's a really tight knit spot. Parking would also be if you're lucky for street parking or parking structures in the surrounding area. My friend and I got their Matcha Pillow which was by far my favorite matcha! Black sesame bagel (2.5/5): I love black sesame, and the bagel looked really promising! Unfortunately though... I thought it was okay. Tbh, I was expecting it to be a sweet bagel with sweet cream cheese, but it wasn't. It basically tasted like a normal bagel with regular cream cheese and black sesame. No sweetness whatsoever. Bagels we tried - 1) Green Onion: It was alright (keep in mind it is chopped raw green onion missed on with cream cheese ) 2) Jalapeño and Gouda: Nice kick with jalapeño in the cream cheese too 3) Garlic Bagel: Solid cloves of roasted garlic throughout (Definitely for garlic lovers) 4) Street Corn Bagel: Yummy flavors piled high with the corn and crema but will be messy 5) French Onion: Same carmelized onions as French Onion Soup. Crowd favorite 6) Matcha Crumble: Good matcha flavor 7) Black Sesame: Another favorite since the filling is both cream cheese and black sesame paste. So good! My top recommendation is Houjicha latte with cream top, ugh. The ambiance of the shop is pretty aesthetic. But it is packed as heck on weekends. Since the seatings are pretty limited and are almost always occupied, a lot of people are huddled around while waiting for their orders. It can get somewhat cramped. I would say have a back plan of just getting it to go and enjoy it later or go to the alley where iPic theater is! Plenty of seats. The line can get somewhat long. Easily my favorite bakery in Pasadena! If you're a bagel enthusiast, Miopane needs to be on your radar right now. Such a great spot! There is a parking structure on Union St and there's street parking. The line moves relatively fast. There is a line because they don't want to overcrowd the inside which makes sense but the staff keeps it moving. Staff is very helpful and friendly. I've been to my fair share of bakeries, but the texture and bold flavors here are in a league of their own. The bagels are elite. You get that perfect, snappy chew on the outside, opening up to an insanely soft, pillowy inside. I also think it's a big plus they go heavy on the fillings. We probably waited about 20 minutes in line. My friend and I shared the following pastries: - Mexican Street Corn Bagel: My friend's and my favorite pastry. The bagel texture was soft and chewy and we enjoyed the creamy and spicy cream cheese. The roasted corn was also tasty. I would get this again. - Maple Glaze Green Onion: Unique croissant! I enjoyed the combination of the savory green onions and sweet maple glaze. The croissant was also flaky which I liked. - Strawberry Shortcake Bagel: Tasty and sweet bagel. I enjoyed the strawberry jam and crumbled cakes bits inside the bagel. It would even be better with some sort of cream cheese. - French Onion Bagel: My least favorite pastry out of what we got, but it wasn't bad. I would've liked this one better if it were more savory. It's slightly off to the side near the park, which I actually really liked because it felt less congested and parking was much easier than some of the busier spots in this area. The bakery offers stuffed breads, and they have SO many fun flavors such as garlic cream cheese filled breads, Mexican corn, blueberry, strawberry, different cheeses, and more. They even have a matcha one, but unfortunately they were sold out when I stopped by later in the day. I ordered their Matcha pillow drink, which is basically a double matcha topped with matcha cold foam. This was really good and you can customize both the milk and sweetness level too. The matcha itself was really good quality. I came on a Friday morning and the line roped outside; however, it went by quickly. Upon entering, it smells so good! Mexican Street Corn Bagel - the lime squeezed on top of the sweet and savory corn with creamy cotija + jalapeño cheese... it's hard to describe just how wonderful my first bite was. you've got to try this out for yourself please. this is tangy and mouthwatering. eat this when you get it! since it's overly loaded, it got really soft and harder to eat with each bite Whipped Cream Cheese Garlic Butter Bagel - recommend this if you LOVE garlic. i'm a huge fan but this made me rethink because woah is it garlicky. and woah do i need this again and again and again! the bagel itself is addicting and warm, the crust is shell-like but not too airy or firm, the whipped cream cheese is a delight! picking this apart is great, biting into it is too, this is great Everything Bagel w/ Smoked Gouda - what can i say besides plushy, pillowy... the smoked gouda filling. take me there. another top favorite for sure. she is so good. this being one of their more "basic" bagels on the menu, this genuinely could be my #1 favorite out of them all. it's that good. Tiramisu Croissant - wow this felt like biting into Christmas evening, for some reason, for me. the espresso was alright, yummy mascarpone filling. the crust on this + blueberry croissant is crackling and delicately flaky, wonderful + Blueberry Croissant (unpictured) - filling perfectly sweet, but not overly. this is in our top favorites!!! The pastries are tasty! I like that they offer to heat any of the pastries up which I recommend, because they do taste better that way. Large variety, but unique flavors! We got 4 pastries and one drink. Maple green onion croissant - loved it, really tasty and savory and crispy edges with a slight sweetness with the maple Mango cream bagel - the most 'traditional' bagel we had in the bunch and it was fluffy with a slight sweetness but not too sweet. The bagel with the least amount of cream inside we got, but had little chunks of mango in there too. French Onion - loved it, very cream cheese-y which I like and the carmelized onions were good and plentiful to be in every bite. Whipped tomato pesto, with fresh tomatoes on top. I love tomatoes so this was a winner for me too! For drinks we got the black sesame einspanner, which the staff told us does not have espresso in it?!? Maybe I'm not educated but I thought einspanners always have caffeine in it, but maybe it only refers to the cream top? I was so confused and you have to pay extra to put espresso in it, when the drink is already over $8 (with a milk substitute) so we added an espresso shot at home since we live so close. My only quarrel is their ordering/line situation. Maybe they intentionally make it slow to make sure the staff is not overwhelmed, but it feels inefficient and as someone who has decision fatigue and a people pleaser, I feel awkward making staff wait and just stare at you while you're trying to make a decision. You have to wait in line outside the establishment (which is why there always looks to be a line) and then they call you to come in and that's only when you can see the display of what's available. One suggestion could be to have a menu outside or today's pastries listed and say (as available) outside so people can get an idea ahead of time and come with a plan. I don't know what's the hype about this place because I think it is very ordinary or even below the normal standard. I asked the staff for recommendations and I got the Roasted Tomato with Herbs & Cheddar and an Everything & Egg Breakfast croissant. I came on a weekend, so there was a bit of a wait. The employees were very efficient at moving people along, so I did not wait more than 10 minutes to order and receive my items. There is also ample paid street parking available, but it is usually a hit-or-miss with Old Town Pasadena. I ordered the Matcha Crumble Bagel and Elote Bagel. The Matcha Crumble Bagel did not have much of a matcha taste to it, so it is a skip to me. The Elote Bagel made up for the experience! The roasted corn mixture on top of the bagel complimented the savory-sweet cream cheese filling. Not pictured, but I also tried Garlic Butter Bagel. If you enjoy biting into straight garlic, then this is for you. Otherwise, I would skip it, but hopefully Miopane works on fixing their recipe or maybe the team making it made a bit of an oopsie that day. Overall, the pastries at Miopane were yummy but nothing mind blowing. I ordered the earl grey scone, garlic cream cheese bagel, mango bagel and my friend got the maple scallion croissant. The earl grey scone was yummy! It had a bit too much orange peels for my liking though. The earl grey flavor was pleasant and the chocolate chips weren't too sweet. The mango bagel was decent as well! It didn't have a strong mango flavor and I wish it had more cream cheese, and as you can see in the photo it is on the drier end. The scallion maple croissant tasted alright, it tasted like another pastry I would get from 85 degrees or 99 ranch. Neat concept but mediocre execution. The garlic bagel was probably my favorite! The garlic flavor is super strong and has so many garlic bits in the cream cheese that it was a bit spicy! Service was excellent! The workers there are all kind and helpful. There is some seating inside the store but it is small. Parking can be a bit difficult since it's in old town Pasadena. We parked in a parking structure near by. Miopane is a Taiwanese bagel chain and this cafe is Miopane's first U.S. location. There was a lot of hype surrounding the cafe when it first opened in late December 2025 and there was still a waiting line when our party visited a month ago. I haven't seen this kind of craze on a Taiwanese bakery chain since 85°C Bakery opened its first location in Irvine in September 2008. [Parking]: There's a public parking lot 3 blocks away from the shop (where Amara Cafe & Restaurant is located) and the rate is $1 for two hours. [Amenity]: The cafe is relatively small with just one table and few window seats. Utensils are available across from the cashier counter. There is one restroom inside the cafe. [Menu]: Yelp's top highlighted baked goods are the Blueberry Cream Cheese Danish and Strawberry Shortcake Bagel. Other notable bagel flavors include Garlic Butter Bagel and Jalapeno Cheddar Bagel. Our party was hoping to try the Mango Cream Cheese Bagel, but it was not available on the day of our visit. The cafe also sells matcha and hojicha drinks. *** Black Sesame Cream Cheese Bagel ($6.50): In a sense, this bagel tasted a bit like an Oreo except the cream cheese filling made it more like bagel. The bagel itself was a bit dry. Matcha Crumble ($7.50): It reminded me of a Chinese pineapple bun (bolo bao) but with matcha instead. Upside down Sticky Buns ($8.75): The sticky buns from Cream Pan is much better. The sugar glaze was on the pecans rather than the bun which I wasn't a fan of. *** While I appreciate that their pastries are not something you would typically find at a traditional donut shop or Taiwanese bakery, the results of combining the two were surprisingly underwhelming. Popular bagel shop located in Pasadena. They're popular for their cream cheese stuffed bagels with lots of different interesting flavor combinations. You should also know this is a Taiwanese bakery. So don't come here expecting a traditional (bagel) shop he might find on the west side. I tried coming to this place earlier around the time they were opening, but the lines were crazy long. I finally found myself in the area on an afternoon during the weekday so when I drove by, there was zero to little line. Thought it was the perfect time to go and grab stuff. The inside is clean and chill. Especially when there's no crazy line waiting to get inside. People were actually sitting and enjoying their food. I got their popular garlic cream cheese, stuffed bagel, and I got something a little bit more experimental, which was their 'Mexican street corn' bagel. I really enjoyed each of them, especially with one of their Matcha Einspanners to wash everything down. As I was sitting there, enjoying my food, one of the people working there allowed me to taste one of their experimental combinations they were working on as well. So fun! Definitely a great treat to enjoy specially if there's little to no line. Personally I'm not sure if I could wait during the busy times. read more
