I live in the area and have been several times to try many of their bagels and other pastries. There is usually a line, but it moves quickly. Both sweet and savory bagels are yummy. Danishes and cookies are also good. My main concerns are with their lack of food handling safety and service. I have seen, on many occasions, workers with long hair and long sleeves brushing over the food. I also would recommend that the spatulas used to pick up bread from trays are switched out more often to prevent cross contamination. As a returning customer who enjoys the bread, it is uncomfortable to see that Miopane does not enforce proper food handling safety. read more

6/10/2026 First time at Miopane. EVERYTHING & EGG BREAKFAST CROISSANT Did not eat this right away, but ate the next day after reheating it in the toaster oven. The croissant was partially crispy. The filling was pesto with a well-done egg on top with everything bagel seasonings sprinkled on top of the outer edges of the croissant. It wasn't bad and it tasted exactly as described. However, it wasn't anything amazing and I wouldn't reorder this. BLACK SESAME CREAM CHEESE BAGEL My favorite of everything I've tried. This was delicious! It was exactly what I thought it would taste like. A soft bagel with bounce. It is different from your typical bagel texture where it can be dense and sometimes dry, but Mio Pane's bagel is not like that at all. It was not dry and kept it's texture well, even hours after bringing it back home. There is a pleasantly light chewiness to it as well. Really good black sesame flavor too! Black sesame paste and cream cheese lined throughout the bagel. The cross section seems like there's only a little bit of the black sesame and cream cheese, but if you cut into quarters, you'll see there is more black sesame and cream cheese inside all throughout. Very good black sesame and tangy cream cheese flavor throughout! Please do not refrigerate! Try to eat it on the day you bring it home. I think it tastes great as it is, although toasting it may not be bad, but I've never tried it toasted with this bagel. MATCHA CRUMBLE BAGEL The filling tasted like sweetened matcha with a light bitter flavor at the end. The filling was not cream, but a wet sand-like texture. There was also another layer of matcha crumble on top, which added a light crunchy texture. It was good, as the bagel was soft with bounce. I wouldn't say it is a pillowy texture, but a much softer texture than a regular bagel. Good, light chewy texture too. JALAPEÑO SHARP CHEDDAR BAGEL This is your typical jalapeño and cheddar bagel. It had strong flavors of both. Cream cheese added as well. If you love jalapeño, cream cheese and cheddar, this is for you! Bagel was slightly softer and spongy than your typical bagel. I toasted the rest of the bagel and it actually did not melt the cream cheese. The bagel was warm and the outside was nicely crispy. The inside was not dried out either. I think this bagel tastes best toasted in the toaster oven. TIRAMISU CROISSANT Really delicious! It tasted like tiramisu and had good crunch from toasted crushed almonds. I believe it was almonds, but it was so toasted, I couldn't really tell. Crunchy croissant too, albeit a bit dry. But still, overall good. I would get it again if I'm in the mood for a dessert croissant. UPSIDE DOWN STICKY BUN It was a good, sticky, sticky bun! I did not eat it on the same day, but toasted it in the toaster oven and although the outside did toast up a bit, the inside was still moist and very gooey outside. Yes, some outer layers get dry as you toast in oven. So best to eat the day of. Loved the generous caramelized pecans on top, it was well-toasted, crunchy and toffee-like in flavor and texture. That was the best part for me. Anyone who loves sticky buns would really enjoy this! AMBIANCE / SEATING One large wooden communal table with small stool chairs that seats about 10-12 people. Four bar seats available as well. This communal table took most of the space! LINES / WAIT TIME Went on a Wednesday before noon. It is a small bakery, so get ready to stand outside in the heat when the lines get long! It was quite hectic inside! The line did stretch outside, but still closer to the entrance. Inside, the whole place was packed! The line moves as one long line. How they arranged all their food items and labels were difficult to see, every food item were crowded together. Some of bagels and pastries were sold out and not available, but still they had so much variety it was crazy trying to choose! Just come ready to order by checking out their online menu ahead of time. If you come early, they will probably have everything. CUSTOMER SERVICE It was good, there were two to three people taking bread orders, behind the glass display case, so the lines weren't too bad. Lines moved much quicker for me, but I can see there can be delays if customers don't hurry and order. Service was good, the person taking my order was patient. PARKING Best to park in a parking garage, as street parking requires more effort. I parked at School House Garage on 33 E Green St, Pasadena, CA 91105. First 2 hours is $1.00, each additional hour is $2.00. Daily maximum is $12.00. There are closer parking garages if you want to go there, but I chose this one, as I was going to a Mills Alley beforehand. But this parking garage is still a close walk to Miopane. Would I return? Miopane lives up to the hype! They have such an insane variety of bagels. We ordered 2 bagels and 2 drinks. Elote bagel: 4/5 - savory but pretty salty Strawberry Cream bagel: 5/5 - perfect and light. Matcha Pillow: 5/5 - My favorite. A mixture of fluffy and creamy consistency! We asked if we could have a sugar adjustment and it was just right. The line was surprisingly short when we arrived around 2 PM on a weekend afternoon. We picked up the matcha bagel, green onion croissant, and green onion bagel, and everything was very tasty. The green onion items were especially flavorful, and I can definitely see why this place draws such a crowd. That said, the matcha bagel did become quite hard by the next day, which makes me think these bagels are best enjoyed fresh. I would have loved to try them straight out of the oven, but there's clearly a line for a reason. Prices are on the steeper side, around $6-$8 per item, but that's pretty expected for Pasadena. As for parking, there is street parking available if you're lucky enough to find a spot, but there are also nearby parking structures. Just keep in mind that both options are paid. Miopane is a bakery that specializes in artisanal, beautiful bagels. These bagels all have very light and chewy texture, the exterior is not thick like most bagel places, likely baked rather than boiled. Additionally, there is usually something cooked into the center of the bagel. The price is expensive, $7 or 8 per bagel. On any day they have a dozen or more bagel flavors, so you should be able to find an appealing flavor. Of the three I tried I most enjoyed the Roasted Tomato with herbs and cheddar. It had sundried tomatoes inside and some fresh tomatoes included too with basil as the herb. Very light and chewy, very fragrant, I would get it again. Jalapeno sharp cheddar was solid, but I don't care for jalapeno spice and this bagel had copies pieces inside. I think if the jalapenos were removed then it would have been a solid cheddar bagel which had cream cheese baked into the center. Lastly the Mexican Street Corn was a bagel with some crema baked inside, and then corn added on top. I have been seeing this place all over my feed and LOVE bagels so this was a must try! I went on a Sunday morning around 9 and the line wasn't too bad. Like the other reviews said, it moves pretty quick. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. Super patient because there are so many choices and hard to decide. The person that helped me was super helpful letting us know which ones were the most popular. The strawberry shortcake was the favorite for my daughters. The crowd favorite was the everything but bagel with gouda cheese. It was delicious! It was warm and the cheese was oozing out. My other daughter ate half of it on her own. Would not recommend staying if you want a place to sit and hangout, study, or chill. Parking is also atrocious if you're not paying for it in the parking garage (which I recommend to do). The space inside is cute and aesthetic and they also have a bathroom for use. Matcha: we got the matcha cloud and it was decent, definitely on the sweeter side and the size was a bit small for the price. Pastries: they had a lot of different pastries, they mainly have bagels and croissants. It gives the customer time to look at the options since they dont have the kind of pastries they have listed on the menu. It took me 12 minutes from lining up to getting my drinks and leaving. One of my all time favorite bakeries. I've been here several times for their excellent matcha and unique bagels and other pastries. When they first opened, I lined up for around 45 minutes to order. They handed out umbrellas and the owner was always present to greet people and talk about the bakery. Just one indicator of the great service! They are incredibly attentive and welcoming at this bakery and the workers are great at giving recommendations and advice. In terms of the food, you really can't go wrong with any of the bagels. Every one I've tried has been excellent! The green onion has cream cheese with a green onion rim on a sesame bagel. The mango bagel is also tasty and not too sweet, the mango cream cheese is very fresh and light. The pecan bagel is one of my favorite sweet ones, super tasty with the nuts and sweet cream cheese. Stopped by during a weekday and wow... walked out feeling like my wallet took a hit. Only picked up two items and it definitely adds up quick here to treat ourselves to something special! There's always a line and it's worth the wait!! I waited about 20 min in line and would willingly do it again. For a variety of bagels to try. My absolute favorite is the garlic cream cheese. It was super garlicky and my breathe smelled like garlic all day. The French onion bagel and the scallion croissant were good too. The regular scallion cream cheese bagel is good too but perhaps the most "normal". I didn't get to try the tomato or the mango cheese bagel but definitely want to come back and try that. The hype was warranted. We definitely ordered with our stomachs cause we came here on a whim after Pilates. But, everything we got was tasty. My favorite was the garlic one because you could taste the real spiciness of the garlic - 11/10. If you don't like garlic or are a vampire, I would not recommend because it's potent. The everything and egg croissant was my next top choice - 11/10 rating for it too. We also tried the strawberry shortcake and Mexican elote which were both good - 9/10 for me. For drinks, I got the matcha latte which you can actually taste the quality of the matcha in it. One family sitting near us told us the scallion bagel is the best one which we didn't order but it's definitely going to be one I try next time I'm back. The spot itself doesn't have much seating inside so you need to be lucky to catch someone leaving to get a seat inside. But even when we got a seat, since it's so small, I was extremely overstimulated with the amount of people waiting everywhere and how loud it was inside. All free space inside was being occupied by people waiting for drinks. When waiting in line outside before getting inside, one of their staff did bring umbrellas out for everyone to help with the sun which was nice. The line moved fairly quick when we were in it and I'd wait the same amount of time again to get these pastries. Parking is street and there's paid garages nearby too. read more

Came here on a Saturday with my little sister after a long hike. We were exhausted and hungry, so we decided to stop here. The line was out the door, and we waited about 15 minutes to get inside to order. The wait went by faster than I expected. The owner, or one of the staff members, was at the doorway greeting people and making conversation. He was very kind and eager to talk about the food and the establishment. He informed me that these are Taiwan-style bagels. I ordered the sour cream and onion bagel and a chocolate croissant, and my sister ordered the garlic bagel and the strawberry and cream bagel. The sour cream and onion bagel was actually super good! The bagel was good quality and very soft, and the bagel had a nice balance of sour cream and onion flavor. The croissant on the other hand was a bit dry and had waaaay too little chocolate. I actually didn't even eat it and gave it away. My sister didn't like her garlic bagel and said it was too garlicky and salty. She really loves the strawberry bagel and said she would come back just for that. For the 4 items, it was about $32. It comes out to about $8 for each item. That's honestly not that and if you're just coming in for a quick breakfast. The bagels are pretty huge and packed with cream cheese, so $8 for one of them doesn't seem that bad. I wouldn't pay $8 for the croissant though. While the man in front talking to people was nice, the rest of the staff inside serving the bagels and ringing customers up were not. They were very impatient, kind of rude, and seemed overwhelmed by the line. When I was checking out, I saw one staff member eye the line out the door, and then he rolled his eyes and looked like he wanted to sigh. There's also very little seating. Especially with their lines, you have to fight for a seat if you wanna dine in, which is not a pleasant experience. Their bathroom is nice, clean, and spacious. All in all, I wouldn't come back to eat. I can make my own bagels at home. While these were a good deal after a long hike, I wouldn't go out of my way to eat these bagels again. Especially the sour cream and onion. It was tasty, but it was just an onion bagel with chive cream cheese--something easy I can make at home. Perhaps I'd come back just to get my sister one of the strawberry bagels. read more

This place had a long line and seems to always have people coming in and out. The line moved quickly and it was very smooth. When we got in we were greeted warmly and we were easily able to order everything. I tried their matcha pillow drink with almond milk and asked for it to be 50% sweet. The matcha was good quality and the cream top was thick and yummy. The garlic bagel was good but I think it's more for aesthetic purposes, it wasn't anything too special. Finally tried the viral Taiwanese bakery, Miopane in Pasadena, CA, and I was pleasantly surprised by the bagels; they were better than I expected. I ordered the matcha crumble for $7.50, which had a delicious matcha filling, the popular Mexican Street Corn, definitely more savory, and the iced Matcha Pillow drink for $7.50 + an oat milk substitute for $.75. I personally would skip the matcha pillow drink, it was tiny for the price. I finished the drink in a few seconds as it was mostly ice. I did 50% sweetness, and it was good, but I don't get the tiny cups for almost like $10. Pass. My parking tip is to park in the Marriott Parking Garage, a public structure, for $1 for the first two hours. It's $2.00 per additional hour, with a $12.00 daily max. Also, note, they are temporarily closed on Mondays. Service was good. The place is small, so seating is very limited. read more

Never been here, but was so excited to try this place out. I stopped by on my lunch break and there was no line! As soon as I entered, I was greeted with big smiles from the staff. There were so many bagel varieties and cookies to choose from. I decided on the cream cheese and onion bagel (although their display says sour cream), the black sesame bagel, and the black sesame cookie. The cream cheese and onion bagel was loaded with green onions embedded in the cream cheese and rolled on the outside. What surprised me was the tons of whole garlic hidden inside the cream cheese! Every bite was crunchy, creamy, and savory. What a beautiful mesh of flavors and texture. The black sesame bagel was so soft, even on the next day. I originally wanted it toasted, but realized how much cream cheese and black sesame spread there was once I sliced it. I consumed it as is. If I had a toaster oven at home, I would've toasted it that way. Instead, I only have a toaster and didn't want to risk the spread melting down sideways inside of my toaster. The black sesame cookie was a flattened cookie with black sesame spread all along the top of it. It made it a bit messy to eat, but it was delicious. It was soft, but still crunchy, sweet and nutty. I cannot wait to try the other items the next time I go back. read more
