The hype was warranted. We definitely ordered with our stomachs cause we came here on a whim after Pilates. But, everything we got was tasty. My favorite was the garlic one because you could taste the real spiciness of the garlic - 11/10. If you don't like garlic or are a vampire, I would not recommend because it's potent. The everything and egg croissant was my next top choice - 11/10 rating for it too. We also tried the strawberry shortcake and Mexican elote which were both good - 9/10 for me. For drinks, I got the matcha latte which you can actually taste the quality of the matcha in it. One family sitting near us told us the scallion bagel is the best one which we didn't order but it's definitely going to be one I try next time I'm back. The spot itself doesn't have much seating inside so you need to be lucky to catch someone leaving to get a seat inside. But even when we got a seat, since it's so small, I was extremely overstimulated with the amount of people waiting everywhere and how loud it was inside. All free space inside was being occupied by people waiting for drinks. When waiting in line outside before getting inside, one of their staff did bring umbrellas out for everyone to help with the sun which was nice. We visited this small cafe on a Saturday afternoon for the first time and were impressed with the bagels. Since our visit was after the morning peak time, there wasn't a line. However, there was a more limited selection of fresh bagels available. We got the whipped cream cheese and garlic butter ($7) and matcha crumble ($7.50) bagels. The former tasted amazingly garlicky with a great schmear. I thought the latter was solid, and the matcha flavor came from the crumbles themselves. We were able to order right after entering the bakery. After we selected the bagels, a staff member toasted them for a little bit. There was a slight disconnect because the staff didn't lead us to the cash register to pay. We received the bagels before paying, so we approached the cashier ourselves to complete the transaction. During the afternoon, there is limited seating inside. Getting here was easy. I used a paid parking garage to leave my car, but this is just walking distance from Memorial Park Station (A line). read more

Never been here, but was so excited to try this place out. I stopped by on my lunch break and there was no line! As soon as I entered, I was greeted with big smiles from the staff. There were so many bagel varieties and cookies to choose from. I decided on the cream cheese and onion bagel (although their display says sour cream), the black sesame bagel, and the black sesame cookie. The cream cheese and onion bagel was loaded with green onions embedded in the cream cheese and rolled on the outside. What surprised me was the tons of whole garlic hidden inside the cream cheese! Every bite was crunchy, creamy, and savory. What a beautiful mesh of flavors and texture. The black sesame bagel was so soft, even on the next day. I originally wanted it toasted, but realized how much cream cheese and black sesame spread there was once I sliced it. I consumed it as is. If I had a toaster oven at home, I would've toasted it that way. Instead, I only have a toaster and didn't want to risk the spread melting down sideways inside of my toaster. The black sesame cookie was a flattened cookie with black sesame spread all along the top of it. It made it a bit messy to eat, but it was delicious. It was soft, but still crunchy, sweet and nutty. Came here on a Saturday with my little sister after a long hike. We were exhausted and hungry, so we decided to stop here. The line was out the door, and we waited about 15 minutes to get inside to order. The wait went by faster than I expected. The owner, or one of the staff members, was at the doorway greeting people and making conversation. He was very kind and eager to talk about the food and the establishment. He informed me that these are Taiwan-style bagels. I ordered the sour cream and onion bagel and a chocolate croissant, and my sister ordered the garlic bagel and the strawberry and cream bagel. The sour cream and onion bagel was actually super good! The bagel was good quality and very soft, and the bagel had a nice balance of sour cream and onion flavor. The croissant on the other hand was a bit dry and had waaaay too little chocolate. I actually didn't even eat it and gave it away. My sister didn't like her garlic bagel and said it was too garlicky and salty. She really loves the strawberry bagel and said she would come back just for that. For the 4 items, it was about $32. It comes out to about $8 for each item. That's honestly not that and if you're just coming in for a quick breakfast. The bagels are pretty huge and packed with cream cheese, so $8 for one of them doesn't seem that bad. I wouldn't pay $8 for the croissant though. While the man in front talking to people was nice, the rest of the staff inside serving the bagels and ringing customers up were not. They were very impatient, kind of rude, and seemed overwhelmed by the line. When I was checking out, I saw one staff member eye the line out the door, and then he rolled his eyes and looked like he wanted to sigh. There's also very little seating. Especially with their lines, you have to fight for a seat if you wanna dine in, which is not a pleasant experience. Their bathroom is nice, clean, and spacious. All in all, I wouldn't come back to eat. I can make my own bagels at home. While these were a good deal after a long hike, I wouldn't go out of my way to eat these bagels again. Noticed this bakery when I saw a line outside, so made a mental note to check it out at another time. That time came on a Friday early afternoon when there was no line. I got an iced spanish latte, strawberry shortcake, matcha bubble drink and an elote bagel. Overall, the spanish latte was great- no notes as well as the shortcake bagel. It was soft and fluffy on the inside with a bit of a crunch on the outside. The flavors were good- not too much but enough. I wasnt a fan of the elote (street corn) bagel but I think it's because I am more of a sweet/ plain bagel vs savory. I talked about it so much that weekend that my sisters went on Sunday (early to be first in line) to try it out and they were also happy about it. Miopane is the spot. Everything that they have hits. Came on a Saturday morning with moderate wait times the line move pretty fairly quickly was able to get in and out within 30 minutes. The line does get packed up throughout the day so plan accordingly. They have so many different kinds of pastries and bagels from sweet to savory. I really like the garlic bagel one. I can see why some people would not like it because it is pretty heavy on the garlic and a bit spicy but to me this is perfect. The bagels are so chewy and soft. Miopane is a famous Taiwanese bakery with its first U.S. based location being in Old Town Pasadena! To get here, street parking will be your best bet and there is a good amount of it around the area. Wifey and I pulled up on a Saturday around 10am and there was a line out the door. We ordered after about 20 mins and ended up getting the Matcha Crumble, Sour Cream & Onion Cream Cheese Bagel, Jalapeño Sharp Cheddar Bagel, and the Maple Glaze Green Onion Croissant. Finally tried the viral Taiwanese bakery, Miopane in Pasadena, CA, and I was pleasantly surprised by the bagels; they were better than I expected. I ordered the matcha crumble for $7.50, which had a delicious matcha filling, the popular Mexican Street Corn, definitely more savory, and the iced Matcha Pillow drink for $7.50 + an oat milk substitute for $.75. I personally would skip the matcha pillow drink, it was tiny for the price. I finished the drink in a few seconds as it was mostly ice. I did 50% sweetness, and it was good, but I don't get the tiny cups for almost like $10. Pass. My parking tip is to park in the Marriott Parking Garage, a public structure, for $1 for the first two hours. It's $2.00 per additional hour, with a $12.00 daily max. Because we waited about 30 minutes for the bagels, we ordered about 6-7 bagels to munch throughout the day. The standout was the strawberry shortcake. It tasted like the Good Humor strawberry shortcake ice cream bar. What a cool bagel flavor. What I thought I would like but thought it was too intense was the bagel with the garlic butter. A must try if you love bagels and open to try new flavors. We went there around 8:45 on a Sunday morning. Maybe because it was sprinkling, we were able to get in fairly quickly. Fairly small but some seating at a table in the middle of the room as well as some stools along the wall. We got the tomato basil pesto bagel, sour cream green onion and garlic bagel, pecan cinnamon bagel, egg and pesto danish and a chocolate scone. Everything was very good. Our favorite was the tomato pesto bagel. Had a lot of flavor with small pieces of sun-dried tomato mixed into the filling. The sour cream onion and garlic bagel was good with cloves of roasted garlic mixed into the filling. The pecan cinnamon is great if you want more of a sweet treat. We also liked the matcha latte. It had the right amount of sweetness. Would love to try some of their other drinks next time. Everyone was friendly and the space was clean. I was skeptical. But it was WORTH THE HYPE! We went last Sunday at 3pm and there was no line and we snatched a parking spot right outside the bakery. That was already a double win! They had all the bagels and croissants on the menu, nothing was sold out. We got the following: 1. Strawberry shortcake bagel- this bagel came with cream cheese inside already. I thought the texture was perfect; not too soft and not too chewy. This was delicious! 2. Jalapeno sharp cheddar bagel - this came with cream cheese inside as well and had a nice kick to it. We loved it! 3. Sweet milk crumble bagel - this is more of a Taiwanese flavor profile with the sweet milk crumble as filling, it usually goes with bread but instead, they put it in a bagel. It worked! Not dry as some could come out that way. 4. Maple glaze croissant - excellent quality croissant. No complaints. 5. Ice oat milk latte - good quality and happy there's decent coffee to go with the pastries. There is one long table that can seat about 8 people (4 on each side) and 5 stools with a counter along the window. There is also a bench by the other window that can seat 2. It was hot and sunny and thank goodness they had white paper umbrellas for us to use while we wait. There was SO many delicious pastries to choose from! My husband and I had been wanting to try Miopane for a while and we finally made it out on a Tuesday afternoon! For our first visit we got the blueberry croissant, matcha crumble, chocolate croissant, and the roasted tomato with herbs and cheddar bagel - and everything was pretty good for the most part since you can taste the quality and I loved all the flavors. My personal favorites were the blueberry croissant and the chocolate croissant. The blueberry croissant was delicious and not too sweet, which I appreciated, and the chocolate croissant had an amazing filling that literally left me wanting another one immediately. Stopped by during a weekday and wow... walked out feeling like my wallet took a hit. Only picked up two items and it definitely adds up quick here to treat ourselves to something special! Tried the tiramisu croissant, and it was deliciously dense! You can literally see all the crossiant layers with a giant chocolate and cream in the middle. It's as if almost like you're being charged per quality layer. It was super rich and decadent, to the point where I had to save it for another meal! Also got the matcha crumble bagel. I have been hearing about this new bagel shop for some time now - there has been a bit of buzz about it. They have a garlic cream cheese bagel that I really wanted to try. And I was expected long lines. It is in Old Town Pasadena so parking can be tight, but I went early afternoon on a weekday and found a meter spot. The staff there gave some parking tips for a nearby garage. These bagels already come filled with cream cheese in the middle, or is inside. And it is not the small tubs you used to get from bagel shops years ago. This is fluffy and flavored cream cheese, and an ample amount of it. They were out of the bagel I wanted to try but suggested the burnt onion bagel, which had similar flavors. The bagel rolled in scallions caught my eye - it looked like an everything bagel but I am not certain. I lifted the top half to find some roasted or confit garlic pieces on top, which I loved. I was going straight home so no worries about the breath. :) The black sesame bagel also looked striking and the flavor sounded great. This one was filled and the cream cheese was rolled in black sesame seeds. Genius! The filling on my particular bagel was a bit uneven and the first few bites were dry. But I appreciated it more with every bite. I also got the kouign amann which had a sort of bucket shape. There is a thick hard sugar shell. I personally found it a bit dry and tough compared to the traditional French version but it was still good. The star for me was the hojicha pillow drink. It was topped with an airy green tea foam and the whole drink tasted like something you would have in Tokyo. I will say, I found everything slightly pricey, and was charged even more for oat milk, but it was excellent. The bagels are also pricier than one would expect but they definitely give off a premium and handmade vibe. The shop is modern, light and airy with a communal table in the middle to eat there. They do a great job with crowd control and let 2-3 customers in at a time so you can see the lovely creations perfectly. The staff was very nice, particularly the gentleman who was not behind the counter. We had a nice chat and he really knew his stuff. I will be back for the garlic flavor and perhaps the strawberry one too. read more

My second time here. This time I was able to order more items than the first time because they ran out almost everything on the first time. My most favorite was almond croissant. I waited for the initial hype to die down before finally trying Miopane, a Taiwan-style filled-bagel shop. There's metered street parking, but it's cheap and easy to pay through Passport Parking. I waited about 30 minutes to order. The line was medium-length and mostly in the sun, but it looped around so we got some shade. You wait until they call you up, then walk down the line past all their many pastries. Once inside, the huge display of bagels, croissants, buns, and cookies felt like pastry heaven. The space is bright, warm, and cozy. I went a little overboard with the bagels, but the staff was super friendly and patient. After grabbing everything, you pay at the register on the right. There's a restroom next to the shared bench seating, drinks are picked up on the left near the entrance, and napkins/utensils are by the register. The bagels have a nice chew but are lighter and fluffier than a typical American bagel. I liked that each one had a generous amount of filling, so the flavors actually stood out. The sweet ones (black sesame cream cheese, mango cream cheese, matcha crumble, strawberry shortcake, strawberry cold foam matcha) were good, but didn't wow me as they reminded me of Asian bakery breads- definitely good but not exactly new. The savory ones (whipped tomato!, roasted tomato with herbs and cheddar, everything with smoked gouda) were more satisfying flavor-wise. I recommend trying the huge cinnamon roll, which was moist and pillowy. The tiramisu croissant was unique, with a nice hit of espresso in the center. The hojicha pillow was a 10/10 for me. They definitely hook you up with the hojicha foam, and my cup was filled to the brim. The hojicha itself was concentrated and smooth though still fairly sweet even at 50% sugar. Overall, the food didn't totally blow me away. Miopane's Taiwanese-style bagels are the hottest new thing in Pasadena. In addition to bagels, they have coffee and pastries. The bagels are soft and chewy with the cream cheese inside. The cream cheese is a bit thick and not really tangy like a traditional cream cheese, and ends up being a creamy filling. We enjoyed the Strawberry Shortcake, Cranberry, Double Cheese, Everything with Gouda, Sundried Tomato, and Milk Crumble. We were impressed that we liked both sweet and savory bagel options. I also bought a Sticky Bun for a friend, which was massive in size and she complimented it. The bagels don't seem to lend themselves to storing (e.g. freezing and reheating) the way you might with traditional bagels, so I don't recommend over-buying. There were some misses. The Garlic Bagel (Caelic Bagel style) had chopped raw garlic mixed into the cream cheese and the sharp bite was overwhelming and pungent. The Maple Green Onion Croissant looked like it could be amazing but that was salty to the point of inedible. Both of those were thrown away. Because we liked so many of Miopane's offerings and they outweighed the two bad ones, I'm still a big fan. They really need to rework the recipes for the Garlic Bagel & Maple Green Onion Croissant because it is a shame that those were thrown away and wasted, especially at their high price point. Ambiance: busy even on a Tuesday, not much space to wait for your drinks, line moved at an average speed Service: they gave umbrellas outside which was a nice touch since it was so hot Food: the bagels are really good, better than a fresh Einstein bagel. The flavors are unique, the cream cheese paired with the bagel isn't overpowering. For the pastries, great lamination on the croissants. I really wanted to like the maple glazed green onion croissant, but I didnt really get much of the maple tones. The tiramisu croissant Danish was well done, not overly sweet and with a lot of textural contrast. The matcha einspanner was good, matcha was of high quality but I do wish the drink tasted more cohesive with the cream. Lines were very long but I came expecting that. Not sure if the bagels and pastries were worth the cost and wait. Bathroom is so nice and clean lol. Came on a Saturday at 8am (when they open) and had a ~45 min-1hr wait. Not counting this against them in my rating cuz it's not their fault that they're so popular. Everything looked amazing and they were well organized! It was pricier than I expected though: I ordered 4 bagels and a cinnamon roll for a total of over $40 (so like ~$8 per pastry). Service was surprisingly very good despite the busy-ness! The cinnamon roll was fat, rich, and sweet. Perfect guilty pleasure type food. It was delicious. Now, onto the bagels (which were kinda dry in comparison): Mango bagel: had bits of mango in it and cream cheese. It was ok but gives 85 degree vibes. Tomato and herbs: great! Kinda like pizza without the cheese and sauce. Very flavorful. Garlic cream cheese?: couldn't hear what the guy said it was but I picked out that it was like the garlic cream cheese one. This one just looked like it had red chili powder on top or something. Tasted like a basic whipped garlic cream cheese basic. Milk crumble: very yummy! Had like a sweet milk paste inside. Low-ish rating because of the dryness of the bagels and I think the flavors are creative but some of them could be refined. read more

Definitely worth the hype. Get there early to (try and) beat the line. Similar to 85° bakery, they will bring bagels and pastries out as they are made so they may not always have the item you're hoping for. If you get lucky enough, get the garlic pull apart bagel! Absolutely heavenly if you're a garlic lover. My boyfriend and I also tried the sour cream and onion as well as the black sesame bagels. The sour cream an onion was well portioned without spilling while the black sesame did what Miopane is known for- the "filling" bagels. I've gotta say, each bite was perfect! We were too excited about the bagels to snap pics but we'll get em next time! read more
