Was really excited to try this place after seeing Chef Melissa King post about it on IG but i thought it was just ok. The restaurant itself is pretty small inside and there are two tiny tables outside but you have to order to-go. They have a self service kiosk for to-go orders too. We tried the mini pan fried pork buns, the beef noodle soup, and a jianbing with chicken and beef (you get to pick two meat options). The mini pork buns were pretty oily but did have a good amount of soup inside them. The beef noodle soup had a really strong star anise flavor that i personally am not a fan of but my mom liked it. The jianbing was pretty soggy and hard to eat. The chicken and beef were sort of like lunch meat slices with shredded lettuce and some hot sauce. Wouldn't order it again but if there's a next time i'd try the burrito instead

We came by Mini Potstickers to try their signature dish and got an order of mini potstickers and jianbing (Chinese burrito) with sausage and chicken. I also wanted the Shanghai style tofu pudding but they they were sold out for the day. The mini potstickers were yummy with a good amount of soup inside considering how small they are. It's fun to eat in one bite and I can see why this would be a great to-go snack. I do think they're on the oily side and would still prefer regular shengjianbao. The jianbing was pretty good as well - I like the thin crispy cracker layered inside for crunch and it had a good kick from the chili sauce. It felt a bit odd that the chicken they use is a thinly sliced deli meat chicken but I surprisingly liked the inclusion of lettuce and one is large enough to share between 2 people. Overall solid meal, we were full from just sharing the 2 items as they're pretty carb heavy and while it didn't quite live up to the expectations of the snack foods I love in China, it still hit the spot. We did experience couple of small mishaps like our server accidently added on an item that we then got corrected once the order slip came and we asked for no cilantro in the jianbing but still got cilantro. They're busy for sure but the service felt pretty messy even for a casual spot.

Newish addition to Irving and very yummy. I liked that the spicy noodle soup dish was actually spicy, and the dumplings and potstickers were very juicy with great texture. 5/5 would eat again - very friendly service too.

San Francisco resident and Top Chef alum and All-Star winner, Melissa King, popped up on my IG feed recommending this place a couple of weeks ago. I quickly bookmarked the place and on Monday, March 16th, after walking the dogs at Golden Gate Park, I decided that this would be a nice birthday treat for myself and the wifey. Of course, I had to get the Mini Potstickers (12 pieces for $12.99). I also ordered the Chinese Burrito ($13.99) and Three Flavor Dumpling (12 pieces of pork, shrimp and chives for $10.99). And yes, these three items were all featured on King's IG account. I wasn't dining in, so I ordered from their kiosk conveniently located at the main entrance. Even though it was a Monday, and almost an hour before closing time, it was still packed and busy. My anticipation for the food was slowly intensifying as I overheard a lady leaving and uttered, "That was delicious." Luckily, I was able to entertain myself by watching the auntie in front of the restaurant creating the Chinese Burritos on a crepe maker. The process was mesmerizing as she would spread the batter to make the base until it gets to the right consistency. Then she added the egg, meat, onions, cilantro, pork floss, layers of crispy wonton and some hoisin sauce to balance everything together. Yes, I was very entertained and further intensified my anticipation. Once I received them, I skipped (I imagined it in my mind skipping) to the car to show the wifey the goodies. Drove to a shaded parking (cause it was hot) and enjoyed another fine car dining experience. We started with the Chinese Burrito and boy oh boy...it did not disappoint. Nice crispy, crunchy exterior and layers and layers of delicious textures and flavors. But it was also surprisingly light yet fulfilling. Then I popped a Mini Potsticker into my mouth and this thing literally was bursting inside full of flavor. Biting into this golden piece of nugget released an explosion so magnificent and unexpected that it filled my tastebuds with joy. We're all grown adults here, get your mind out of the gutter. You were expecting me to mention something else? Yes, I was thinking it. Wink Wink. And last but not least, the Three Flavor Dumpling was also legit. The light texture with the perfect combination of pork, shrimp and chives worked harmoniously like a waltz on ice being performed by Alysa Liu. It came with some vinegar and chili oil, which just elevated the whole thing together. I felt like poppin' my collar and dancin' to LaRussell's "I'm from Da Bay" anthem. Chef Melissa King's recommendation did not disappoint as there were no misses, but all hits. And BTW...they've had that "Grand Opening" sign for 3 years and counting. Hey, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Came here for lunch on a weekday and there was no wait, which made it a super easy stop. Parking was a bit tricky at first, but if you look around the nearby residential streets it's manageable. The mini sheng jian bao were the highlight -- really juicy on the inside with a nice crispy bottom. I also tried a few of their other dumplings and they were all very tasty, with good flavor and texture overall. Everything felt freshly made and consistent. Overall a solid spot if you're craving dumplings, and I'd definitely come back to get the sheng jian bao again.

Solid dumpling spot that definitely filled the satisfaction! Will definitely come back here again for the mini pot stickers (Literally to DIE for!) it's so good that I'll be ordering from here just for this to go!! The wait is definitely worth it but on the weekends, it'll probably be a longer wait for a table as it's almost like a newer hole in the wall vibe. The only thing that barred my experience was the service; while the food was divine and delicious, we were served the wrong dishes two times and were missing an order. Part of the reasoning could be that they sat us with another party in the same table?... Eventually it got emptier later on so the other party moved. we were patient and didn't mind the mix ups but there was no assurance on their end. On to the foodie reviews.... -Mini potstickers: come here for this and this alone wowwwwwwww! Juicier than a xiao long bao, the scallion butter garnishings made for a perfect combination. -Chicken & corn dumplings Pretty tender, sweet notes from corn with the salty bouncy bite of ground chicken! -jiang bong (Chinese burrito) with pork floss, lettuce egg, chicken / sausage. Good as an appetizer but there is definitely a place on Taraval street known for pancakes and rolls like these! Good flavor profile from sweet, crunchy, nutty, and savory. -braised beef noodle soup Hearty, sweet, savory, and bouncy noodle to pair with! Pretty fair for its price point!

I am always looking for an easy potsticker dumpling location that I can pop into off 19th. I had seen pictures of the really cute dumplings that I would call "gyoza" and this place calls them mini bao. They are mini dumplings. You can see them making them fresh as you walk up. There is a digital ordering menu on the right hand wall, but that is only for to go orders. I accidentally ordered there, but was wanting to eat there so they quickly found me a table in the back, which was great & super comfortable. They offer you tea or water even though I ordered a soda plus my dumplings. The table has soy, vinegar and chili oil to add to your dumplings. There are many pictures in the back for the noodles and other things they offer and specials on the higher wall. I will definitely be back to try the noodles and get these dumplings again they arrived promptly nicely charred yet soft & delicious. These were like a mood lifter and came with fresh minced green onions or garlic chives. These people working there are very friendly and attentive. If you are nearby definitely get these to go! Such a great "late-forgot to eat lunch meal" or "can't wait for dinner meal!" I believe you can order frozen to take home. Ask!

We walked by and saw some people waiting outside so we thought we would give a try even though on a full stomach! We have been looking for Jian Bing in Bay Area after trying the best one in Portland. It was a little different but still tasted good. The portion is big with lots of fillings. It takes a skilled person to eat without making a mess. They also have a similar one called Chinese Burrito. I will try it next time to see if it's easier to eat. The mini potstickers is bite size and everyone seems to order it. It's not as crispy probably because it was in a Togo container. But the flavor was good. I think it will be even better to dine in store. They have other items on menu that I would want to come back for next time!

We ordered the beef noodle soup, scallion pancakes, and mini potstickers. The beef noodle soup has a nice strong and herbal flavor, noodles were chewy, and beef was tender and flavorful. The scallion pancakes are a bit thicker than normal with a nice crispy outer shell. The mini potstickers were slightly crispy on the outside and soupy on the inside. The restaurant is a bit small but pretty busy. Staff is nice and attentive.

Came here for a weekend lunch when Yuanbao Jiaozi was too full and was sadly disappointed with the meal. The best thing here is definitely the mini pan fried pork buns, which have a good crisp and flavor. Then it kind of was downhill from there. The wontons were so-so and the celery appetizer we got was disastrous -- it was full of clumps of salt and actually inedible. This almost never happens but had to send it back to wash the salt off to make it edible :( The shandong pancake 煎饼 was also very mushy and flavorless. I'm now convinced there's no good jianbings in SF (go to Flushing for good ones!). Probably won't be back sadly.

Came here at 11:30 on a weekday and it was packed. We waited a few min for someone to leave. By 12pm the first rush had cleared. Asian locals were the majority of the customers. We got two mini dumplings, the Chinese burrito, and the Shanghai wonton. I would rate the dumplings and burrito a 5 and the wontons a 3. Service was efficient. Wontons were a bit too thick skinned for my liking. I was debating if we wanted to get the soup dumplings, but decided against it. Maybe next time. They also have a variety of boiled dumplings.

amazing hole in the wall restaurant! great quality food, fast service. Spicy wontons are a must especially with their noodles. Food tasted amazing. good enough portions to split w/people. would highly recommend if you are in the area

Expect a long wait since they've recently blown up on some social media platforms. The wait is definitely worth it though. One of the most authentic Chinese food l've ever had in a minute. We ended up getting the mini fried pork buns and the schizuan spicy dumplings both were fantastic. Both flavorful and not too overpowering. Everything was made fresh to order. They had very few seating inside but the wait shouldn't be that long unless it's the weekend! Cannot wait to try the rest of the menu.

Once they started calling tables, it moved really fast. When we were seated, we ended up sharing a table with two other groups of two. I actually didn't mind it at all because there was still enough space between everyone to have privacy. It also made the experience feel more social -- I ended up chatting with the people to my right and left about the food. Everything we ordered was really good. Their popular dry fried chicken absolutely lived up to the hype and was probably my favorite thing on the menu... besides the cherry pork. I feel like nobody talks about the cherry pork enough! It was SO good -- kind of like a sweet-and-sour pork without the sour. I dipped it in soy sauce because I loved the sweet and salty combo together. The dumplings were also really good. The wrapper was thin and delicious, but my boyfriend said he wished they had a little more protein filling and less leek. The green beans are always a hit. The only thing I probably wouldn't order again was the black bean sauce noodles. Maybe I just expected a different flavor, but to me they honestly tasted like regular lo mein. I'm also not a huge noodle person in general, so I'd probably skip them next time and order something else instead. Forgot to mention their prices are on point! Definitely recommend to any of the tourists. I think the weight is definitely worth it and I love being able to take home my leftovers and eating them for lunch and dinner the next day.

Started with the hot and sour soup which had good balance and depth without being overly thick or aggressive on the vinegar. The dry fried beef was tasty. Great texture, nicely cooked, layered flavor, and the kind of dish that keeps you reaching back in even after you're full. Service was efficient, food came out quickly, and the whole place has that old school neighborhood energy that makes you understand why it stays busy. Not trying to reinvent anything, just executing the classics well.

Since we had reservations, we waited only a few minutes to get seated at the bar. The bar makes it easy to converse with your partner and to peer over as the fire from the range springs up from the kitchen. Our server brought us some "Free Bites" of roasted peanuts and smashed cucumbers. She was such a pleasant lady with quite the wit that made me laugh between courses. We ordered a full bottle of Negori sake. Note: if you do not finish the sake bottle, they cannot pack it to go for you, so drink up! Obviously, we couldn't order everything on the menu. For our first visit, we definitely wanted their special dish, Fried Squab. It was delicious! The meat was moist and the dipping salt with Sichuan peppercorn paired perfectly! Just don't focus too much on the visual... the head and claws. Hot Mustard Jellyfish Salad ~ I loved the "crunch" of the jellyfish and the hot mustard marinade was just spicy enough to start a slow burn up the nose. Beef Chow Fun Noodles ~ Delicious and so very savory. I was amazed at how flavorful this dish was without being salty. Clay Pot Rice w/Chinese Sausage & Bacon ~ Loved how the entire pot was seasoned nicely. The sauce did not only sit at the top, but penetrated deep down into the rice. Shops were starting to open up and we stumbled upon Hon's Wun-Tun House. We originally wanted to go to a different dumpling house but that one was closed at the time. As we peered into Hon's storefront window, we saw employees already busy making dumplings around 9am. We decided to give it a try and we were so happy we did! The servers were quick to seat us, give us water and take our orders using their tablets. We ordered the pan fried dumplings and the scallion pancakes. Everything was delicious! The dumplings had a good amount of filling and were hot and fresh. The scallion pancakes had plenty of scallions which I appreciated. I mean it wouldn't be scallion pancakes without the ample amount of scallions, right?! Lots of customers were having breakfast and I noticed many people ordered congee, so it must be one of their best sellers. Our bellies were satisfied and we were out of there in under 30 minutes. Bill came out to be about $23 after taxes and before tip. This place is great for a group of friends or families to sit down and have a meal while visiting Chinatown. The front of the restaurant has a kiosk to place orders as well (not sure if it's only for take-out orders). It's definitely a restaurant I would go back to when we are in the area again.

Great food and I love that their happy hour is 4-7pm goes pretty late, only available at the bar. I checked in and said im walking in here for happy hour. the host said ok happy hour and asked me do I want to sit inside at a table or at the bar? I'm thinking "o, I thought for happy hour I must be seated only at the bar, ok lets get a table instead then, maybe more comfortable." Got settled down and seated in the main dining room which was super loud. another server comes and I ask about happy hour menu and he said no that's at the bar only. so why were we ushered to this table? so I got out of that room and went to find myself a seat at the bar instead. bar is much quieter which is nice and more relaxing. for happy hour the ha gow and siu mai is about $1-2 off. coffee lava bun is good, gooey coffee filling inside and perfectly baked bun outside! 18% gratuity auto added onto all bills big beautiful space, especially outdoors with the ferry building view the cod is incredible. about $56 for half size and $100 for large size.

Dessert: I liked that these egg tarts were on the smaller size since we were stuffed by this time and they were a perfect end to a great meal. Service was quick. They'll bring your water and tea almost immediately and take your order a minute later if you're ready. By 20 minutes later, all the dishes had been delivered. If you drive, get parking validation.
