Came here by "word of mouth" from a family member and it was just as they explained. Tasty! Authentic Korean food! Healthy taste! I ordered the chicken bulgogi with vegetables (used to wrap) which came with a soup on the side (fermented bean soup) it sounds gross but it's one of Korea's traditional soups and although it was a bit on the salty side, it was amazing mixed with rice. My dad ordered a fish soup that was, first on the soup menu (forgot the name). It is a special fish that many Koreans use in soup as a hang over cure but overall it is eaten for its health benefits. The food is absolutely "home style" and it seems as if the place uses little or even no MSG. Lot of places claim they don't use MSG in their menu items but I can't seem to fully trust them. However this place does not advertise the non-use of MSG but from the taste, it has a clean and refreshing taste. I am definitely coming back and if you are looking for some authentic Korean food (home style Korean food) I highly recommend this place. read more

I can see why my dad raved about this place. It's food that I ate growing up! Food was okay. I feel like it could've been a lot better. However, their side dishes were soooo good! Lots of variety and all healthy! Koreans and our veggies~ Their soybean soup was a little too salty in my opinion. Marinated beef ssambap: 6/10 not too much flavor and there was a lot of hard bits on the meat. Marinated pork ssambap: 8/10 my brother seemed to enjoy it a lot and finished the whole thing! Braised spicy mackerel: 8/10 my mom makes it the best! Hands down. I know I shouldn't compare the two because I'm being biased but I can't help it! Although, as restaurant food, it was pretty good. I literally live a minute away from this place and I would have never have thought to step foot in here. But one night, I really wanted some Korean food and of course I looked up yelp and found this place. The reviews were decent and from what I saw from the pictures, it looked quite tasty. So the girlfriend and I decided to go and boy was I pleasantly surprised. I ordered the ssambap with the steamed pork belly. The girlfriend ordered the donkatsu. The banchan was delicious and service I believe was very prompt. When my food came out, I was amazed at the portions for what I was paying. It came with a bunch of vegetables, pork belly, dwenjang goohk, and rice. It was definitely enough food for me, even sharing with the girlfriend. Ok, so the donkatsu wasn't all that great. The breading was kind of weird and there was some strange fried thing on the plate that we could not identify. Needless to say, we just packed the katsu in a box to take home. At the end of the meal, they pour you some hobahk(squash?) shikae. I've never had that kind before, but it just tasted like normal shikae... it was good! The only downside to this place, is that it's in a plaza with a bunch of other ghetto stores around. I saw a few shady characters driving through the parking lot, but other than that, this is definitely one of several on my list of places I'll go to get my authentic Korean food fix. read more

Found this little gem while on the search for a local Korean restaurant near home! It's a very small family owned restaurant. Tables are limited, but I came on a weekend around 2 PM and it wasn't too busy. It's small, but feels comfortable! Boiled Pork Slices ($15) with Samjang + Vegetable Wrap + Soybean Paste Stew ($3) - Probably one of THE BEST bossam I've had. On my Top 3 List! The price of this combo was a good deal, considering it feeds two people and it came with a decent amount of pork belly meat. I really appreciate the basket of vegetables along with this combo! It feels very authentic. This meal was so delicious, it's a MUST TRY if you come here! I LOVE BOSSAM. Also, their ban chan or side dishes are amazing. I can't stress enough. Every side dish was very unique! They were all flavorful and it really complimented our meal. It adds the prefect touch to any food you order on the menu. Octopus Bibimbap ($13) - This was really good and portions were huge! It was a little on the spicer side though. It's not the best octopus bibimbap I've tried, but it'll do. The seafood smell might be strong for some, but it's still good. I really enjoy having bibimbap along with bossam. The service here was outstanding! The lady who was our server was so friendly. She kept refilling our water and was checking up on us continuously. She spilled a bit of the sambap combo sauce and cleaned it up right away. Then got us a new one. So nice of her. This is my grandma's favourite local restaurant and it's definitely a good one. When entering, you are always greeted with smiles. The space inside is a bit small, so you need to get there a little before prime meal times. The food is all so homey and delicious. They serve complimentary side dishes with your order and are always willing to refill them when you finish (which you're going to want because they are all so goooood). I like to get the yukgaejang (it's this spicy soup), especially when it's night and chilly outside. I would recommend the ssambap pork belly bossam too! It's SUPER filling and yummy. Anyways, when I first got the order on the table, my friend and I were so surprised at how big they are and how there are plenty of monk fishes on the plate. Not only the portion of the monk fish gave us bliss, but also the taste was just GREAT! Moderate spicy, crispy, and rich. Finally, found the one. The ONE place. My go to Korean restaurant in Fullerton! Authentic Korean food (and this is coming from a fob!). I don't get migraines after eating here which means no msg. I've had their dried pollack soup, kalbitang, kalbitang with cabbage, octopus Bibimbap, steamed pork with Napa, grilled dried pollack, braided cutlassfish, steamed dried pollack, and barley rice with raddish kimchi. (More than half their dishes) I can honestly vouch for ALL their dishes but my favorites are dried pollack soup and braised cutlassfish. I got the grilled yimyeonsu (atka mackerel) and kalgooksu today. Yimyeonsu was grilled to perfection: crispy outside and moist inside. Kalgooksu wasn't anything special but still yummy. This place is tiny and holds nine tiny tables so the wait is quite long during lunch hours. Service is okay but I don't even care because the food is that great. You can park in the plaza but way easier to park behind the restaurant since that whole parking lot is fully theirs. Strongly recommend!!! read more

Came to this location for lunch w/GF. The restaurant is in a small mini-mall in a pretty shady area. We went inside and the place is pretty small. It started getting better once the food started coming out. We ordered the tofu soup, seafood pancake and grilled mackeral. Everything tasted delicious. Prices were fair. There were a lot of side dishes. The only thing bad is the location and the speed of service(they never came around after delivering the food until it was check time). I would recommend the beef or pork with kimchi-jeem the price is a lot cheaper than the restaurants in Koreatown in Los Angeles and the size is a decent portion for two people. Their soups are also great but I didn't think their noodle dishes were that great so I don't recommend those. The restaurant is pretty small so you may have to wait if you go during dinner rush hours. Parking is in the back and make sure it is not in one of those 15-min parkings because apparently you can get your car towed. read more

Came on thursday with my gf, place is small but looks very clean and nice. Drawings on the walls was beautiful, looks very unique. Now on to the foods, they specialize in korean ssam bbab, so we decided to get steam prok with napa. Food came out pretty quickly. Went with family for dinner with few young kids. Ordered kalgooksoo, beef lettuce wraps combo, and kalbi soup. I went in with bias that some of the Yelp reviews were a hype. However, i was wrong and it wasn't a hype. Everything we ordered were really good. The bean paste soup that came with combo was tasty and not too salty. It was closer to what my mom makes at home. :) kalgooksoo was also very good. Wished they gave us more noodles (cuz i shared with my kids) but its definitely satisfactory for one person. When I asked they said their main dish was ssam bab, so we go ahead and ordered ssam bab with spicypork. First came the side dish there was total 8 side dish and all delicious, not too salty n fresh. After few minutes main dish ssam bab came out with bean paste and lots n lots of vegetables that goes with the spicypork. Meat was nicely marinated and tasty n it also comes with side of bean paste soup which goes great with ssam bab. Overall experience everything was very delicious and fresh n they don't cheap out on the fresh vegetables n that was plus 1 for us. This is now my favorite place for Pork Rib Stew with Kimchi. you get a HUGE bowl of it. the broth is clear and flavorful. You get a large piece of Pork meat that's tender and juicy. I was in the area and just wanted to eat some Korean food so I dropped by and I was pleasantly surprised. I came in around 11:15 and was the first customer and by the time I left the restaurant was more than half full. I ordered kimchi jjiggae and it was really delicious. There was a lot of meat, tofu and kimchi. I couldn't even finish half. It's more than enough for two people. I like how the kimchi in the stew is left uncut and they give you scissors.
