This is a tiny "hole-in-the-wall" Korean restaurant -- and it's fantastic! We were 2 couples and these 2 large dishes were enough for all of us plus enough to take home for lunch the next day for 1. I love bossam (steamed pork belly) and I've tried a lot of places. This place could be the best. I didn't know how they get it so tender, but the meat almost falls apart as you touch it. Amazing! The black cod stew is also the best I've had. The broth is perfect -- rich and spicy, but not overwhelming, so you can stuff taste the fish. And they are generous with the fish. I didn't know how many pieces there were ... But plenty for all 4 of us. Seating is limited. I highly recommend!

very small hole in the wall restaurant. love the service and the food, which is very delicious down to the side dishes! kalguksu is very filling and hearty. i love how large the portion is. i was only able to eat half and had to take the rest to go

It was really savory and healthy.

Def will come here again. I really enjoyed the korean food here. Their banchan was fresh and yummy. It is a bit pricey but I can see why. The quality is great. I usually would drive bsck to ktown in LA but not anymore. Their stinky soybean is sooo good and hearty. If you have elderly grandparents or parents, give this place a chance. More parking in the back. Service is so nice feel like home. Small hole in thr wall.

I was recommended here by a friend and fell in love with the braised fish. I came every so often to get their braised fish and trying other dishes on the menu - cold noodles, seafood pancake, and more. This place is always full of Korean families, so I know the food is authentic. The service is fast and efficient. The Korean aunties servers always make sure to cut up and split the food for you. The vibe is so friendly, it always feels like I'm over at my friend's house dining here. As for the food, everything always tastes delicious! All the side dishes are yummy and pair well with the main dishes. My must-order is the braised cod. It's full of fish with tofu and radish that has been braised in a delicious spicy sauce. The seafood pancake was crispy, and would definitely be better with more seafood. The cold noodle was refreshing, but I think it didn't pair well with the braised fish as it would with grilled galbi. Overall, I highly recommend their braised fish dishes!

I always come here with family for Korean comfort food! They have the best menu and atmosphere. It has a hole-in-the-wall type of feel, but it's very cute and cozy. I usually order the 들깨 수제비 because it's unbeatable in terms of flavor. My mum ordered the 곤드레밥, and the presentation for everything is always on point. The side dishes are obviously refillable, so don't be afraid to ask for more. This is my favorite Korean restaurant in the area, and I wish there were more like this!

This restaurant reminded me of Seattle's "The Pike Place Fish Market," where fresh fish has been sold for decades as employees playfully throw fish around. Though this place has been open for 10 years, we were unaware of its existence. Situated in a humble shopping center with a modest square footage, you would never imagine the quality of service and Korean food it offers. When we checked in, the restaurant was nearly full, and the busyness and energy of the staff expressed their confidence and pride in their reputation. We were first served water, and the waitstaff's recommendations already impressed us with the promise of quality and taste. We ordered Braised Black Cod, and SsamJjang Vegetables wrap combination with Spicy Marinated Pork, and Bean Casserole for the three of us to share. The fresh lettuce and vegetables, including green pepper, cucumber, carrots, wild sesame leaves, and steamed cabbage, arrived first. We also had a choice between white rice and mixed grain rice, opting for the healthier option. The presentation and quantity of the food and side dishes were attractive and impressive. When the Spicy Pork arrived, we could already tell it would taste great. The Bean Casserole was also delicious. The awaited Braised Black Cod, which they were very proud of, came last. We didn't have to wait long to encounter one of the restaurant's most popular dishes. The combination of quantity, quality, and taste was outstanding, although it was a little too sweet for one of us. The Black Cod melted in our mouths, and the tofu and radish were incredibly flavorful. We called this kind of food 밥도둑 (Thief of Rice) because it kept making us eat more rice. We were very full and ended up taking the leftovers home. The service was excellent. There might be many people who have never visited this restaurant, but there are likely few who have only been here once. We plan to come back to try other menu items next time. Strongly recommended. Updates on 5/3/2025 Today marked my second visit to this remarkable restaurant, originally recommended by my sister-in-law--and it was even more memorable than the first. This time, we ordered a wide variety of their signature dishes, including braised silver cod (은대구 조림), aged kimchi short rib stew (묵은지 갈비찜), marinated raw crab (양념게장), fermented soybean stew (청국장), and several others. Each dish was rich in flavor, beautifully presented, and reflected the restaurant's commitment to quality. Everyone at our table was thoroughly impressed with the depth and balance of flavors across the board. What stood out just as much as the food was their consistent, energetic service--the staff moved with purpose, warmth, and genuine hospitality, which added so much to the overall dining experience. We were especially fortunate to meet the owner, Jennifer, during our visit. Speaking with her offered a glimpse into the heart and mindset behind the restaurant's success. She shared with us that they had taken over the restaurant from a previous owner who had struggled to make the business work. Hearing this made their transformation even more inspiring. What truly turned things around was Jennifer's vision and mindset--a powerful combination of innovation, attention to detail, quality control, and a complete renovation of the space. Her passion for excellence is evident in every dish and interaction, and it's clear that this success didn't happen by chance--it was earned through intentional change and bold leadership. I was also excited to learn that they have recently opened a second location in Chino Hills, which I hope to visit soon. Although there's been a rumor about a third location in La Palma, I learned that it's not affiliated--it's a completely separate business. This restaurant is a true example of how a change in leadership and mindset can breathe new life into a struggling space. It's now not only surviving but thriving--and I look forward to returning again soon.

Korean style banchan and Spicy Braised black cod are amazing
    Dae Gon K.

The Korean-style black cod dish is truly exceptional--perfectly seasoned, beautifully cooked, and full of rich, delicate flavor. Each bite feels thoughtfully crafted. All of the banchan are delicious as well, offering a great balance of textures and tastes that complement the main dish. You can really sense the care put into every small plate. Overall, the food quality here is outstanding, from the star entrée to the side dishes, making the entire meal feel comforting, authentic, and incredibly satisfying

Small, hole-in-the-wall place. Staff were friendly enough but couple of things irked me. They said they have a la carte grilled meat dishes but they are not on the menu separately but only combos with the lettuce wraps are in the menu. I asked for the price of the a la carte meats & two waitresses were somewhat evasive and recommended we ordered the larger portion rather than providing the price for one dish. Told the waitresses I don't eat pork so ordering the larger portion did not make sense - they were like, 'why not?' We re-asked for the price then was finally told a price but nothing printed. I ordered a fish egg soup & asked the waitress to have the cook add a scoop of bean paste in & she rolled her eyes like, "What now?" then tried to cover it up with a fake smile. She tried to tell me that's not gonna taste good but that's how I request it at every restaurant I get that soup from as that's how my family had it ever since I was a child. Didnt appreciate the interactions with the waitresses & the food was just OK.

we waited for around 30-40 minutes on a saturday night at prime dinner rush. this restaurant has really delicious side dishes and i would definitely recommend the braised cod! i don't speak korean but the staff was still friendly and helpful! the one thing i knocked off a few stars for was at the end of our meal as we were finishing up, one of the staff started cleaning and wiping dry some washed bowls. she had a rag that had such an intense mildew smell it ruined all of our meals. she was three tables away and all of us could still smell it. this is something they should check out as it must be a health hazard

Pretty busy lunch time on a Wednesday. Had to wait a little bit but definitely worth it! If you want authentic Korean food I'd recommend here. - Spicy Marinated Raw Crab 5/5 The crab is somewhat meaty but the spicy sauce is delicious. Ask for disposable gloves so you don't dirty your hands. - Spicy Pork w/ wrap 2.1/5 The spicy pork marinade tastes mostly of red pepper paste (gochujang). It was OK, wouldn't get again. - Braised Black Cod 5/5 It's delicious. The seasoning paste is good. The fish is tender and soft. Love the pieces of rice cake and radishes (cooked well). - Soybean Soup 4.1/5 Comes with the raw crab and spicy pork wrap, the bean paste they use tastes good. This soup is on the saltier side, but eaten with rice is pretty good. Free parking in a lot next door.

Lunch special! Spicy pork ssam with bean paste stew

This establishment is a small hole in the wall joint. They have about 8 tables in total and have a waitlist hanging on the door. I would avoid lunch times during the weekdays as they are typically busy. The parking situation used to be a nightmare but it's now ample as they have their own lot on the side. Also, their service is of a typical Korean joint. Meaning, they try their best with the cultural and speech barrier. IMO, I think do a pretty decent job. I'm not a huge fan of Korean food in OC. It seems to always be a hit or a miss. That being said, Mindeulle is one of the places I go to when in the area. My mom and I both enjoy eating here as the food is very homely. I usually get their ssambap combo which comes with veggies, a choice of protein and a side of bean paste stew. My mom usually goes for the hot stone rice pot or fish. I would stay away from some of the steamed main dishes with red-ish sauces. I find the sauces on the sweeter side which isn't to my liking. However, their banchan's aka side dishes brings me back to my grandma's shigol aka countryside flavors.

I love this unassuming place. It's a pretty small restaurant but the food is wonderful. My favorite are the hand pulled noodles. The ladies who run this place are quick to get you any items you need.

Mandoogook. Comfort food. Warm, filling, soothing.

When I gave them my name, they mentioned it was still being prepared, which honestly made me excited because I figured the food would be extra fresh and piping hot. First impressions were excellent. The presentation and packaging were super professional. The black bag looked sleek, the container separated the toppings from the noodles perfectly, and even the utensils came in elegant packaging. Their bagging and presentation are honestly 10/10. The broth and noodles themselves were delicious -- rich flavor, great texture, and overall I'd rate that part a solid 9/10. Unfortunately, the experience changed when it came to the meat and broth temperature. Since the beef was raw, I expected the broth to be hot enough to cook it properly, especially because I started eating it immediately at the table outside near the fireplace. But the broth just wasn't hot enough. Even after letting the meat sit in the soup for around 4 minutes, it still tasted undercooked and had that iron/bloody taste, so I ended up removing most of it. Because of that, I wouldn't recommend ordering the pho to-go unless you're taking it home and can reheat the broth in a microwave. I don't have one at home, which is why I chose to eat it immediately nearby instead. That said, I would definitely come back -- next time I'd order dine-in instead because the flavor and presentation were genuinely very good.

The toro special was buttery and so good especially wrapped in seaweed and dipped in the salt/sesame oil. We had the steamed egg again and it was fluffy and nice. The sashimi bowl was the best we've had. Definitely
