First time visiting. My friend recommended here. Maybe I had too much expectation... Food taste is "comforting". What does that mean? Well.. the menu that I ordered taste almost same as what my mom makes at home. Is that good? Well, yes and no. For my personal taste, when I dine out, I am seeking something different from usual food that i eat. Say... to satisfy my taste buds with better(?) taste. So, in a good way, food is "comfortable" to eat. Yet, I don't see anything special than what I have at home. I had much better taste than here for the exact same menu. Their restaurant is very compact. There is also a lot of flies because they keep their doors opened. Side dishes are delicious. Those take a lot of work and on point. Al tang was okay. The soup base was not rich or thick. It was spicy and delicious but wished the soup was better. Bossam was delicious. Meet was tender and soft. The meat combo was awesome too. The marinated beef was marinated perfectly and was very flavorful. I wish they gave more veggies tho... Or put it in a small plate because it looked weird. Service is slow... I wish I lived closer so I could frequent this establishment. Their sujebi and kalguksu is the best I gave had in the OC area. It isn't too fishy like the other places and does not leave a bad taste in my mouth. Their food tastes clean which means they do not load up on msg or other flavor enhancers. I loved their dolsot namul bibimbap. My aunt invented that dish in Korea and I have not seen a place that makes it (in the US) so I was excited when I saw it on their menu. Nothing is overly salty and service is great. I do wish they had more tables though! Seriously, everything on the menu tastes great. Sujebi and Kalguksu is exactly the same thing except the noodles. Sujebi is comparable to handmade flat noodles kind of like in chicken and dumplings. Kalguksu is like fettucini. read more

I wish I can give ZERO star. ME and my family used to go this place very often because we loved their food, but today we are extremely DISAPPOINTED...There is outside-sitting area with tent (right front of the entrance) also dine-in as well, some Korean elders were sitting outside and they were SMOKING in side the tent. Cigarette smoke flowed into the restaurant and there was a bad smell of cigarettes. There was two-month-old baby in our party, so I asked them to smoke in another place, but the crazy elders began to swear while raising their voice. But the employee who saw it came and told me not to tell them...(?) Really???What an weird situation!!! So embarrassing. In need of a nearby Korean restaurant, my mom and I decided to go here and IT IS DEFINITELY WORTH IT! We decided to order the ssambap combo with marinated beef and the meal was big enough to feed two people! I love how they gave us a big platter of vegetables to wrap our meat in! Old folk style korean traditional dish. The side dishes are on point as they taste fresh. You can tell the chef put time and effort on them. I personally liked the main dishes because they weren't salty at all and yet so moderately on point. Definitely my favorite korean dining place. read more

saturday night date night happened right here at mindeulle aka dandelion in english. the restaurant was poppin. it's also incredibly small, so if you come at peak dinner hours, you'll have to wait. the only reason i give it 4 is because even though there were 2 tables that could seat 2 people parties, they just used it as space to put things rather than seat people. they only finally sat us when someone asked why they weren't using those tables. once we go to our seats however is when the goodness happened. boyfriend ordered the spicy bulgogi ssam bab. this comes with a variety of greens, bulgogi and bean paste soup. SHIT WAS BOMB. i've never seen the bf devour his dinner like that. the only couple times he came up for air was to tell me how it was the best korean food he's had in OC. i ordered the grilled mackerel. although tasty as well, did not compare to ssam bab. we enjoyed it so much we want to go again the next day, but they were closed :( we are now saving it for our week night pick me up. which mean's we'll probably go again tonight... :X read more

I not sure I would order from here again. We ordered a Noodle Soup with Perilla Seed () and Seafood Pancakes (). The seafood pancakes were fine but the other dish... We ordered noodle soup but got hand pulled dough soup () on accident and the soup itself was not flavored AT ALL. If I wanted to cook, I would've made it myself but I had to flavor the soup and prepare it all over. I find it ridiculous that they got our order wrong considering there were only 2 tables dining in (I ordered to-go). Had dinner here for the first time last week right before heading to LAX to drop my KOREAN parents off at the airport to send them off to KOREA. I'm Korean haha Anyway, since then I've been here twice. So, that means I've been here three times this month. Why? Because everything tastes exactly like my excellent cook mother makes it. The kimchi stew, the bean paste stew, the spicy pork bulgogi.. It's like she never left! I will say though that they need to get their water to rice ratio right because the rice is always mushy, but the rest of the food makes up for it. I always try to come around 5 or 5:30 because this place is tiny and you will most likely wait. We found this restaurant from an OC Register article on the latest Korean cafes popping up in the Buena Park area. The Ssam Bop (wraps) came with a wide variety of greens including dandelion leaves, perilla leaves, cucumbers, red leaf lettuce, etc. The interior was a small but clean and tidy. They were serving really hot water with plastic cups & plastic pitchers which cause a very harmful chemical BPA leaching out. So I suggested the owner, in a friendly manner, to replace with double wall stainless steel cups which are new trend to avoid such health hazards. But he ignored me immediately and never came back to me whithout saying a word. He is a jerk not caring customers health and their opinions. I will never go back to the retaurant. Great Korean home cooked meal. Grilled fish dishes are awesome, always cooked to perfection, crispy skin and moist meat, well seasoned with no special sauce needed. Place has about a dozen table that get filled pretty quick at peak hours. Since the restaurant serves no alcohol it has not been my first choice for meals with others or a group, but perfect for quiet lunch but myself or comforting dinner. Have seen people order to go, but have not tried it yet. This place is a good reminder to those who seek Korean food that Korean BBQ does not represent Korean cousine. Seasonal side dishes, small soup server in a clay pot, with main protein dish(mostly fish) served along with steaming rice. This stuff is the real Korean food. read more

I used to come here before they were a cut noodle house. Ownership changed and I like this authentic Korean restaurant with very clean taste. This place is very small and I recommend avoiding during the peak lunch/dinner hours or arrive early. However, service is nice, their side dishes are great, prices are lovely, and everything is yummy so far. I visited three times so far and enjoyed everything. Oh! My mom is pretty picky about Korean restaurants, since she is a pretty good cook herself. Mindeulle is the only place in town that she praises. We've had a lot of the dishes, but recently I bought the bossam and al-tang to-go and took it to my parents' house. They loved both dishes. We paired it with some sashimi from one of the K-markets. Great meal all around. I wish they had given us some more side dishes to take with us, because I know they give a lot more when we dine in. But it wasn't a big issue. Love this place! read more

I'm a big fan of their boiled pork slices that comes with a basket of veggies including carrots, green leafs, and my fav the minty green leaf. I really do not know how to eat it this dish, but I prepare it like a veggie wrap. Along with the pork and veggie basket, you also get the side dishes including kimchi and soy bean soup. Overall, great dish! If I am in the area after work, I like stop by here and get my pork veggie fix. read more

Came here for the first time because I heard good things. Asked the waitress if the steamed pork rib with kimchi was more popular or the steamed monk fish, she said everything on the menu is delicious and popular. So I decided to order 3 dishes: the steamed pork rib with kimchi, steamed monk fish and braised cutlassfish. The steamed pork rib with kimchi looks nothing like the picture and doesn't come with a lot of pork. Not only that, it is extremely salty so unless you want to be eating a bunch of rice every bite or drinking water every other min, I would not order it. I ended up packing that dish after eating one of the pork and kimchi. The steamed monk fish was plentiful and can probably feed about 3-4 people. It wasn't the best steamed monkfish but it wasn't the worst, its good enough to satisfy your cravings for steamed monkfish. I would say the best fish out of the three was the braised cutlassfish, it's savory and goes well with rice. Downside is, if you don't like to deal with fish bones, it might not be your favorite dish. I wanted to give the place a 3 but the service here isn't great at all. The waitress isn't helpful when ordering and tends to ignore you a lot. read more

Homemade food done right! I've been to most of the Korean restaurants around here and by far this place has the most clean - tasting food. Even the banchan comes out clean and fresh. I can tell they use fresh ingredients for everything. It takes slightly longer for order to come out, but it's always worth the wait.
