My first time going there today. My nails were done by someone who had never done dip nails before. The lady beside her had to keep coming over to show her how to do it and had to keep fix my nails. Took forever and they still look crappy. After being asked so many times "do you like them" and me saying no, I finally said yes just to get out of there. They charged me $50 for a crappy set of dip nails!! And they sucked!!!!! They are uneven in every way, the white is too wide and does not have a pretty curve, it is more like a flat wannabe curve and the white layers of dip are uneven. Just thinking about it makes me want to cry, I hate them. Will not return or recommend. Funny thing is I picked this placed solely on the star rating... they must be paying people to rate. I went here on July 31 really expecting great service. It was basic-didn't receive hot towels during pedicure and no cuticle oil at the end of manicure either. Made an appointment at noon for 3 PM pedicure. I arrived and had to wait 48 minutes. When I finally said something at 20 minutes of waiting they filled the water and said someone will be with me shortly. They forgot to turn off the water and it nearly overflowed. I had to flag someone down since the switch was near the floor. The pedicure was poor and rushed. I left with French manicure lines being uneven and paint still on the skin of the toes. I've been coming here for over 2 years. It's one of the cleanest nail salons I've been to in the area which is a major concern for me. I get pedicures on a regular basis and love that they use disposable liners, new files, & buffers. The staff does an excellent job and you can tell they really take pride in their work. They want to make sure your satisfied before you leave. Although I usually ask for Penny, I've had manicures, pedicures, and waxing done by Mimi, Rick, Martha, & Maria too. All of which I have been completely satisfied with their service. And for anyone new to the area as I was 3 1/2 years ago, I highly recommend you check them out. I just read another review giving Mimi's a 2 star rating with a very long rant about how bad the service was - that her pedicure took 2.5 minutes (this alone is ridiculous - any one who's ever had a pedicure knows that's absolutely impossible!) and the workers being unprofessional.This lady must be confusing Mimi's with a different salon. I have been going to Mimi's exclusively since they opened (over 2 years) and have NEVER had a bad experience - nor have I heard about or witnessed an experience even remotely like what she's describing. I've never witnessed anyone unhappy with their services - in fact quite the opposite. I've had pedicures, eyebrow waxing and gel nails / refills / shellac nail polish as well as designs on my nails. These people bend over backwards to make sure you're happy. They know many of the customers by name because they have such a loyal following. Their prices are excellent for the services they offer and the staff is outstanding - very engaging and professional - yet you feel like they're a good friend from the very first time you go. The owner is there just about every day from open to close. She and every single person working there provide such a very high level of service - I'm now spoiled and won't go anywhere else. Okay - nobody's perfect right? If I had to come up with one thing that could be a negative - it would be that during certain times of the day or especially near any holiday - they can be very busy and you may have to wait for 10 minutes or so before they can get to you. This is just proof that in the short time they've been in business -they've developed a huge client base. And they do not advertise - so it's all word-of-mouth. After reading that review I felt like I had to set the record straight. Keep up the good work Mimi and staff (and a special nod to my girl Tee). P.S. I totally recommend the shellac nail polish!! I went in yesterday for a mani/pedi. Although they were busy, I was seated quickly for my pedicure. Great massage and my nails and toes look great! The reason I am giving this place 3 stars is due to the way I felt when I walked out- angry! After a relaxing experience, I paid using my card and was writing in a tip when the girl asked me if I could pay her in cash! I politely told her that I didn't have cash and then signed the receipt and left. Part of me wanted to cross out the tip on the receipt, however that would make me just as bad as the girl asking for cash in the first place. I was definitely rubbed the wrong way by this. read more

Convenient location. I walked in on a Saturday afternoon for a pedicure. I was the first one in the pedicure seats, and as my pedicure went on, it quickly began to fill up. Apparently everyone else had the same idea to get a pedicure on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon. Be warned though, this is no quick in-and-out pedicure process, not that I was upset with that! My pedicure took about an hour to complete, but when it was done, my toes looked awesome and my feet were smooth. I enjoyed the no-rush pedicure and the great service. This place is always busy and they do a wonderful pedicure, however I've had my nails done (with tips and acrylic,) and with two different techs and the filing job isn't very thorough. Neither one filed and shaped very much after the acrylic had dried and neither tech used a sponge nail buffer to smooth out the edges and surfaces of my nails prior to applying polish. They do have one very LOUD MOUTH rude girl that works there. I believe she is "in charge" when Mimi is not around. She speaks decent but broken English and when the place is full and other ladies come in, she rudely commands them to sit in the waiting area w/o any explanation of how long the wait will be and doesn't bother to ask them what they are planning to have done. On my LAST visit to Mimi's, I could visualize drill ridges on my acrylic nails after the tech had applied the polish. I made the mistake of bringing this up to the LOUD MOUTH, (Mimi was not there that day.) I showed her the ridges and explained to her that my tech did not use the buffer sponge which normally removes these imperfections. LOUD MOUTH insisted they always use the sponge buffer and to embarrass me, stated loudly (so that everyone in the salon heard her)..."NEXT TIME WE DO YOUR NAILS WE SAY: OKAAAAY, LOOK EVERYONE, WE BUFFING HER NAIL NOW," in her broken English. It was insulting, infantile and unnecessary. I will not return to Mimi's unless I hear that BIG MOUTH is gone. She is rude and will eventually turn enough people off, that Mimi will begin to lose business. She lost me, I'm sure I'm not the first and I won't be the last. read more

This place is always busy. I had come in twice before but the wait was too long. Got the standard mani/pedi. They used stones fir a short time during the pedi. They did a thorough job. My nails weren't painted up to the cuticle for some reason so it looks like i need another mani. Good value for the price but nothing over the top compared to others in the area. read more

Updated Review: So I doubt I will frequent here anymore because I mentioned in my earlier review about the inconsistency amongst workers. So on my last visit , the TOTAL pedicure massage (sugar scrub,hot stones,towels, lotion) lasted 2.5 minutes-and yes I timed it! I was so dang angry!!! Even the lady sitting next to me said her one leg being massaged lasted longer than my entire process -and when i complained -they had the nerves to ask me if i wanted to pay extra for a delux massage! And one worker told me they have 30 min to do a complete pedi (understandable) -well my issue with this concept is -if you hire new workers and they are slow because they are still learning the ropes then that is not fair to the customers-because they spend all their time slowly getting their materials together/running water/filing the nails/TALKING to their coworkers/trying to be in every convo etc. that they look up at the clock and realize they have 5 min left to massage your feet and paint your toes. Since they failed to care of my complaints, I will not recommend this place anymore. Also, the lady doing my nails didn't speak english well and she asked if i wanted my fingernails cut down and I said no -and she cut them anyway because she didn't understand(yet she she shook her head in understanding smh). If you are in the area then maybe go (but be specific about who does your nails, I guess?)-but I recommend to go elsewhere if you want consistent service and a staff that cares about your complaints read more

Worst experience ever. I called at 11a to see about getting my acrylic nails removed and having a manicure. Mimi answered and set up an appointment for 4p. I was concerned because I had to leave for work at 6p but she said it was the earliest she could do. When I arrived, there was no regard for my appointment, she did first come, first serve. I sat and Mimi said it would be 30 mins. 10 mins later, she said again that it would be 30 mins. An hour after I arrived, they placed my nails in foil to start the process. A process which could have been started during one of the many times they stopped to text on their phones. Two hours after I arrived, the technician was still trying to take the acrylic nails off. I had to stop them because I was going to be late for work. I will never use this place again and think they should close their doors because they have no business being in customer service. read more

A friend and I stopped in at Mimi's for a girls afternoon and I was blown away at the service! My friend got a pedicure and full set while I just got a full set. Mimi was the one who actually did my nails so that was cool. She engaged in great conversation with me, got to know me and I didn't feel rushed like I have in other salons. She did such an amazing job on my nails--and this is a big deal because I do nails myself and I am EXTREMELY picky when it comes to how my nails are supposed to be shaped. She asked my opinion on the first nail, i told her to fix one thing and from then on she worked magic on my hands. She even let me keep a magazine i was reading when I asked her! (lol) I can not wait to go back and see her, the salon was very inviting, friendly staff and just a nice environment to go to when you need some me time. I wasn't fortunate like the other reviewers. The lady (don't know her name, but it wasn't Mimi) who did my manicure was talking on her Bluetooth the entire time. The first coat of paint on several nails she did not cover the entire nail. 2nd coat of paint she did cover the entire nail BUT you can see the ridge of uneven application. Did not leave the salon until 8:30 pm with my two daughters and paid $206.00 for the previledge? Horrible nail job. Waited an hour with my friend so that we could get a full set. Once our nail tech was ready she took my friend first and then finished her guest and then sat me down next to my friend. She started my friends nails then LEFT to service another guest. Once she came back she started on my nails her comment to my friend was rude. She said "this is my station so I'm gonna do her nails now" even though she started my friends nails at a different station. She was rude once she started on my nails and kept motioning for me to move my hand certain ways. When I didn't, she rolled her eyes and I got really tired of the attitude when we were patient enough to wait an hour... I said to her "AM I annoying you? I was a walk-in and had never been here before. I went by the mostly excellent reviews on this site. I would give my technician "Tracy" 5 stars for top notch customer service but I could only give the establishment in general 2 stars due to the fact this place is VERY run down, small, and shabby in appearance. My first impression was that the pedicure chairs looked straight from the 70s and each one had horrible water stains on the arm rests. I was pretty shocked at this, given the rave reviews on here, that no other yelpers had mentioned the overall serious need of a makeover. If this place is indeed only 2 years old as many reviews stated, the place has worn down FAST in that short time period. The workers were very friendly and Tracy was very sweet and did a great job but it is not her fault the place is just plain shabby. That leaves a bad first impression to me as a first time customer and made me seriously doubt if they were clean. Tracy used metal implements from out of a hand-held shower caddy to clean my toes so it made me wonder if they had been autoclaved! I should have just left but thank goodness I did not get an infection! I also noticed that the foam toe separators she used on me when painting my toenails also looked shabby and grey like they had been used before. These are supposed to be single use disposable! I also noticed upon entering that they have just one small polish shelf and did not have the latest OPI or Essie colors like other places have and many of the polishes just looked old and half dried up. Many were also cheap drugstore brands and not high end brands. I guess my search continues for the right nail salon where cleanliness, modern vibes, and great customer service all combine. Is this even possible?! Anyway, given the great reviews of this place from here, I was quite dissapointed and shocked to say the least. Tracy was great so if this place wouldn't have been so sketchy otherwise, I would have become a new loyal customer. THE WORST Shellac manicure I've ever had!!!!! I had to ask for them to file my nails down. The guy was impatient with me when I asked him to shorten my nails. The shellac is too thick, and has run marks from where it didn't dry enough under the light. He painted all over my cuticles and on my skin. Shellac is all under my nails and feels very uncomfortable!!!They are already starting to peel. I do NOT recommend this to anyone! Worst $27 spent! read more

I've slept on this a little because I didn't want to write a review while feeling hot headed. I really really really want to like this place... it's close to my house and their pricing is awesome. This is my second time coming in and probably my last. My most recent visit I was just planning to get my eyebrows done and was going to play it by ear on my nails. The girl told me the wait wasn't long, so I picked out my color and sat. AND KEPT SITTING. Two women came in to get their nails fixed from the day before because MiMi told them they could (their words, not mine). The girl that greeted them was SO rude (same girl who told me it wasn't a long wait). They later got into a verbal confrontation. It took everything in me to keep biting my tongue. I hope they called MiMi back and told them how awful the girl was... The same girl came and told me to sit at her station... so I did. She started the finger soak and then got up and started working on someone else's nails... I was pruning my fingers soaked for so long. NOT ONLY THAT, but her station was DISGUSTING. She didn't put a new towel down, I was looking at hot purple dust all over it and someone elses finger nail clippings... Not just clippings, but long disgusting fingernails... not the fake ones... someone's real ones. I kept staring hoping she would get the hint and she clearly didn't. I know, I should have said something. If my nails weren't soaking, I would have gotten up and left... which is honestly why I think she did that. I also swear she used unclean utensils on me and my cuticles still look...unmanicured. She rushed through my manicure. When I was done, she rang me up. I knew this place allowed you to write the tip on the reciept, so I didn't stop and get cash. I almost didn't leave her a tip, but I don't believe in that. I left her somewhere between 15%-20%... she has bills to pay too I'm sure... AND SHE HAD THE NERVE to say "oh, you don't have cash for tip?" I said, uhh no? Is that going to be a problem? And she said, "I mean no, I just won't see it until my paycheck in 2 weeks." I almost ripped the receipt out of her hand and told her to screw off. THIS WOMAN HAS TO GO. I've heard wonderful things about this place and she is going to completely ruin it for them. Within a 2 hour span she managed to piss at LEAST 4 customers off... imagine what the entire day adds up to be. I believe her name is Kim because she told someone "make sure you ask for Kim next time... the pretty Kim, not the ugly Kim back there." This might be funny if their friends, but to me, it sounded rude, obnoxious, and unnescessary. I literally went home and had to have a drink.
