I saw Helen for a leg wax and even though it was my first ever leg wax, I have to say it was nearly torture. I expected some pain but it felt like my skin was being pulled off. My legs are bruised from the way she was pulling the wax and scraping it off with her FINGERNAILS. She was also constantly answering her phone which in turn made the service longer, it took nearly 2.5 hours. Safe to say I will not be coming back for waxing anytime soon. read more

I just received a very disappointing pedicure from this location. The lady seemed very annoyed that she had to even do a pedicure in the first place: no smile, no pleasantries. So, that's how we started. Once the pedicure began, it was obvious she was in a hurry. She didn't clip my toe nails until I requested it, and I had to request callous removal that was suppose to be included. My heels are also still rough and dry. Upon finishing my insanely fast pedicure, I noticed nail polish all over my toes. She also did not remove my cuticles and simply painted over them. I had to ask the manager to remove the polish from my skin. Horrible pedicure. I only gave an extra star because my eyebrow wax was wonderful! The girl who did my eyebrows was very efficient and professional. Too bad the experience wasn't better prior. read more

I'm actually disappointed to give this rating because the nail tech that assisted me was so sweet and kind. However, the quality of the service I received was below par. I first went to a salon I've been to before and they were busy so I decided to come to this place since it had decent reviews and was nearby. My visit was to have my gel manicure removed and just regular polish applied. Unfortunately, the final look was that you could see the scratch marks on my nails from taking off the gel polish through the new polish and maybe not applying enough coats? The salon itself was nice and the ladies very nice. Just not sure I'd return. I don't get my nails done often, so I like to know I'm getting my money's worth when I treat myself. read more

Long story short- came to get my acrylics soaked off, lady that serviced me cut my nail down incredibly short- tried jamming an acrylic nail in between my natutal nail & my acrylic to pop it off but quickly stopped her due to how uncomfortable it felt- asked again politely to get them soaked of with acetone. Doesn't take her time- nicks me with her nail filing machine multiple times even after telling her to please be gentle after the first time she touched my skin with it- doesn't apologize for cutting my skin, just stares at me- ended up stopping her from finishing that painful service she was giving me- paid $10 for that. My sister has been coming here for years, and she finally brought me with. Bill and Helen are the awesome owners of the salon! Our pedicures went great! They did an excellent job and fit us right in to their busy Saturday schedule! The other staff were amazing as well, my sister gets the green tea pedicure and I like the citrus one! All of them are great though as we've tried almost all of them! There's complimentary drinks including wines and mimosas! They give warm neck wraps and really do go to the extra mile during the pedicure. I also got my eyebrows waxed and Helen did an incredible job with that! Wow,these folks are great. Moved to Midlo from Northern Va a year and a half ago. Tried several places before I tried La'moure. I was impressed from my first visit. Excellent quality and service. They go out of there way to make sure you are happy and get the quality you pay for. Bill and Hellen the owners are great folks and are passionate about this being a relaxing experience. I wanted so badly for this to be my new nail place, but unfortunately, my search will have to continue. My first two times here were fairly awesome, but my 3rd and 4th (final time) really left a lot to be desired. For one thing, the cleanliness at this salon is questionable. I have NEVER seen these people disinfect or clean between clients! This means that NOTHING is disinfected or wiped down between clients. On my 3rd visit, I saw a woman with a disgusting stain on the back of her pants sit down to have a pedicure and the technician (male owner of salon) did not even wipe the chair up behind her OR clean her pedicure bowl after removing the plastic covering from the pedicure bowl. This was unsanitary and beyond disgusting. I have also witnessed Ms. Helen act very rudely and inconsiderately towards some of her clients. She is very bossy and overbearing, which is never excusable. This salon also seems to cater to a certain "clientele" if you get my drift and overlook/disregard others. REMEMBER THAT ALL MONEY IS GREEN, SO STEREOTYPING AND CATERING IS NOT THE WAY TO GO IN THIS COMPETITIVE MARKET. My 4th and last time here was the last straw. Not only was I put in the pedicure chair nearest the door (where all the other nail techs and clients go in and out), but I was also assigned the oldest most senile nail tech there. She was sweet, but I had to keep reminding her of what to do. It also seemed as if my pedicurist had to keep asking Ms. Helen (the female owner) what to do. So now that I am in the chair, and the pedicurist has been reminded several times of what to do. I am asked what do I want to drink. I am a wine girl, so I asked for a glass of wine. However, I noticed that it was flat as soon as I put it to my lips! At this point, I am really getting agitated.....as time goes on and my lackluster pedicure continues the older pedicurist and Ms. Helen ask me why I am not drinking my wine. If I am at a spa to relax, I should be able to sip my wine at leisure and not be pressured to drink it all down at one time. I mean come on! It seems as if they were almost offended that I wasn't drinking my wine. Between being unclean, the salon owner's client "preferences", and being stuck with an older and less capable pedicurist I am done with this place. So, I've been visiting this salon for a few years, first for pedicures then for acrylics on my bday for the past 3 years. The quality of my nails after each visit has been worth a 4/5 star review. However, recently the actual business itself has bothered me a bit. The station for manicures are not clean, there's dust from past clients everywhere, often no towel or anything to separate your hands from the surface. Today I went in around 3 on a Saturday, and they were taking constant clients when they did not have the space or technicians to compete the service. They used to have menus listing the price for services, alternative treatments such as massages, scented lotions, and other specifics which have been out of sight my last few visits. I got a similar manicure for my birthday a month ago, which was faster, the nails were shorter, and less color was applied. That manicure cost my mother almost $70 as it was done by the owner. Just concerned about the cleanliness of the establishment, and how the customers and business might suffer if it continues. If you want a good manicure/pedicure I would definitely recommend, but if these problems matter to you, maybe go somewhere else. Some technicians are nice, like the one I had today, but some can be harsh and try to take advantage of your time and money. Good luck to you. read more

I have been trying different nail salons for past few months trying to find a good fit. I called another nail salon to go there because I liked then the best, but they couldn't take me so I searched for another nail salon close to me. The first listing was this location and I had a customer who uses to work here so I decided to give it a go. The location is in a nice busy shopping center that has a decent amount of cool shops surrounding it. The second thing I noticed was a huge banner on the storefront stating it was under new management. Ok, I thought. Even better. I opted for the pink and white full set. First, it takes a while to do, this is no simple 45 minutes. Mine took over an hour. No complaints from me today though, I had run all of my errands. The guy did my nails, he was amiable, but not probing, and answered my questions to my satisfaction. I liked the lady who was doing other customer's nails at the station next to me too, very nice. Clearly, they both knew how to do nails. My nails look great and they look PROFESSIONAL. Very important to look clean cut and professional. HOWEVER, I was disappointed that they didn't use individual sterilized tools. If I'm paying $55 plus tip, I would think that an individual pack for me would be worth it. Especially since so many other nail salons are utilizing the individual packets now. I would definitely go back, but I'm still left wary of them using tools that who knows who had on their hands... read more

I watched 5 people go in front of me that had "appointments" according to the owner however came in and requested the identical service I asked for without a hint to an appointment. Well, usually I love this place. However, it is clear that the person doing my pedi was VERY ILL. Feverish looking, sniffles, pale. Another tech asked right in front of me, "how are you feeling? Any better?" She said she was still very sick and felt terrible. Sadly, it probably isn't the tech's fault. She probably had no choice but to come in. Still, the listlessness impacted the quality of the pedicure as she clearly should be in bed. Yeah, they were masked and I was masked (and vaccinated), but in the age of covid---this is downright irresponsible of the owners. I won't be returning. read more

No More L'Amour Nails! I made a nail appointment for my 14 year old daughter at L'Amour nails at Belgrade. I asked the manager what the price would be and could I pre-pay. He basically shoved me away and said "no can do, go pick color." It went from bad to worse. It ended up taking 2 hours, with 3 different people working on her nails. After 30 minutes of soaking her nails in acetone, my grand-daughter tried to tell them her nails were burning. They replied, "just keep them soaking." It was obvious my grand-daughter was not treated with the respect any customer deserves. I regret not walking out at the onset, but I'll never walk in there again read more

Was going to this nail salon for a few months. I guess when you are a new customer, they treat you better. As you become a repeat customer, they treat you worse. I always make an appointment (never just show up) because I want to be assured that I get my nails done. It seems this establishment doesn't honor appointments. When people call, I hear them telling customers come in and there will be a wait. It's fine if they have the bandwidth to take more customers, but then they ask me (it has happened twice) when I have had an appt for a mani/ pedi, they do half the service and have the audacity to ask me to come back the next day to finish my mani. I think it is rude and inconsiderate to ask a customer who has a scheduled appointment, made well in advance, to return because they are now busy. This particular time, they kept taking in customers due to a high school dance that was happening that night. I also heard one customer say "thank you for taking me so last minute!" I will never return to this place because they do not honor appts nor have respect for customers that truly support their business. read more

No TVs, super clean, and extremely well decorated. Free drinks are just a bonus! I brought two of my daughters (ages 6 and 9), and they treated them so sweetly. This place was within walking distance to my old apartment which made it very convenient to go to. I never had to wait and never had to make an appointment which was also a huge bonus. I noticed that they had recently made some updates including complimentary drinks, a hot towel for your neck, some newer massage chairs. The quality is still just okay, the staff is nice enough but it always seems like you are bothering them, they don't explain their services well and every time I go they suggest other services I should purchase for example if I am there for a pedicure they will repeatedly ask if I want my eyebrows done or a manicure, etc. They have a bit of competition in Richmond with all the new nail salons popping up and unfortunately I just don't think they are quite keeping up. read more

I didn't have a very good experience at this place. I went in to have my dipped nails redone. Instead of filing and then soaking the dip off, the nail tech popped them off with an acrylic nail, which was painful and damaging to my nails. I tried to protest but she didn't understand me and I thought perhaps it was an ok technique I just hadn't heard of. I researched it after the fact though and no, you're definitely not supposed to do it that way. She did a fine job with the new dip, though it took over an hour and my usual place does a better job in much less time. The other thing I found annoying was that they have signs everywhere advertising free wine with any service and literally every other client there was having multiple glasses, but never once did they offer me anything, even water.
