My own and my mother's experiences were perfectly pleasant, thigh different than other escape nails locations. Were originally went to another location as walk ins for two pedicures, and the customer service attendant called another location who had immediate availability for us (we didn't make appointments so we wouldn't feel rushed during lunch). When we got there, there was a bit of confusion as to whay exactly we wanted, even though we had been called ahead. In any event she chose the milk & honey while I picked the goat milk pedicure. Any time at the other location mom chose that version, they've put actual milk and honey into the foot bath, but not this time. This location simply uses different scrubs for your legs. Lack of uniformity was confusing and frustrated mom who had to ask mess about it. Our massages afterwards were lovely, very relaxing, but when I was waiting for mom to finish in the ladies room, I saw someone else giving the most half hearted massage imaginable. She was doing it one hammered while messing around on her phone for over a minute until I took a picture's -1* for the inconsistency between locations -1* for the "massage" I witnessed Diane and E (something that started with an E) were wonderful stylists. read more

BeBe is the best) The Headspa room is new, clean and quiet. Why such a poor review... read on....They offer three choices for the headspa, $65, $125, $190. We decided to go for the $125 middle of the road. This is supposed to be a 70 minute treatment. This treatment ended up being around 62 minutes From lay down to changing back into my clothes. When you pay $125 you expect the full treatment. I had a spa pedicure prior to the head spa and they went ahead and did the detox solution in my pedicure. So I did not do the foot soak again. They should have added those minutes to the headspa. They did NOT. If they're going to cut my minutes, they should cut the price. TIP: If you want to try the head spa, do not have any other services. And time them. Ok that said... here is the info about the $125 headspa... Once you've changed into a Velcro towel, exposing your shoulders and neck you lay down on a heated table and start with a warm oil massage on your head and neck. That is followed by a face wash, light massage, and sheet mask. Then you receive two shampoos. The second shampoo is then carried down your neck and shoulders and you are given a nice wash. Then some conditioner is run through the ends of your hair and a water trickle is set up while you get a super quick arm massage. While there is nothing too aggressive, I ended up with more massage while my friend got more scratching. Two different techniques. Then the sheet mask is removed and a incredibly light cream was applied to my face. I left feeling extremely dry and was so grateful that my friend had moisturizer in her car. Tip: bring moisturizer for your face if you get the second or third head spa because you will be extremely dry. After, 55 minutes of laying down, I was asked to get up and and sit down at the mirror where they will comb your hair... and guys this is the biggest ICK of all-It was with an UNCLEAN hairbrush that actually had someone else's hair in it! That was really disgusting guys. I cannot stress this enough. If you get ANY head spa service, bring your own wet brush or comb. Next a detangler is applied they blow dry your hair to about 80%. This took about five minutes in total. Then you change your clothes. This is what you get for $125. You will see the head spa machines, but that is not what you get for the basic or even the medium price. After being in Korea, I think, the first two choices are a complete rip off. They have a menu for wine or tea, and we weren't even offered it. Absolute waste of money for glorified head washing that made my scalp itchy. However, after reading this, this might be for you so take my tips and give it a try for yourself. read more

The nail tech was fine. I got a gel fill with French tips. I was charged $80.00!!!! Their price list says a gel fill is $50.00. Have been here multiple times since they opened and haven't had any issues. I've had different people each time do my nails. Just make sure if you do go that you make sure they are doing the right mani/pedi you asked for upfront. They have multiple of the same/similar names for different price points. An example would be they have a milk and honey pedicure that doesn't include the paraffin wax or callouses scrub and is cheaper but then they also have a golden milk and honey that doesn't include have those and is more expensive. It happened today when I went to pay it was more expensive the. This was my first time visiting this salon and while Kim did a great job on my nails, unfortunately the price that I was told by the receptionist when I inquired via phone call was totally different than what both Kim and the manager/owner wanted to charge me upon completion. When I called, I was quoted $60 for a builder/liquid gel manicure, plus an extra $5 for French, so I was expecting to pay $65 total. When I got to the salon, the same person I spoke to on the phone confirmed the $65 price by showing me the menu book, so I decided to go through with the service. When Kim was finished with my nails, she began calculating the price told me it was going to be $85. Both surprised and perplexed, I told her that's not what I was told and she said she would do $80 because my nails were short and because I was told a different price to begin with. Still confused as to why I was quoted $65 but then charged almost $80+ after completion, I questioned the charge with the receptionist when I went to pay. The receptionist again confirmed that the service I received should've been $65 and not $80+ but asked the manager/owner standing beside him for confirmation. She proceeded to tell me that Kim, "shorted her money" by only charging me $80 instead of $85. I expressed to her that I was told the service would be $65 not once, but now three times and that is what I was expecting to pay. She then pulled out the menu book and told me that whatever the receptionist told me was wrong and explained that a builder/liquid gel manicure is $60, plus $20 for gel polish, plus $5 for French, so in total $85. I think it's ridiculous that I was quoted an amount that was $20 off, nor was I informed that gel polish, in addition to builder/liquid gel is an additional $20. This means that I was charged for 3 different things; builder/liquid gel manicure ($60), gel polish ($20) and French ($5). This should all be clearly listed out on the menu. If I got regular polish with French, it would have been $65 but Kim nor the receptionist found it important to mention this. Because the receptionist made the mistake by telling me the wrong price and confirming it (three times), the manager/owner should have honored what he told me. It is not my fault the receptionist does not know the correct prices. The manager/owner's tone and disposition was extremely condescending and disrespectful, especially towards a paying customer who was just trying to gain clarity on what I was told versus what I was expected to pay. While Kim did an outstanding job on my nails, the manager/owner was completely disrespectful and nasty and because of her attitude and the way she talked to and treated me, I will not be returning, nor will I refer anyone to this salon to support her business. read more

I went to get a mani/pedi and during my pedicure the nail tech interrupted my experience by having a forced, extensive, inappropriate conversation for at least 10 minutes. She appeared to be so distracted by her one way conversation that she forgot to lotion/massage my right leg and foot. I let this go and moved on to the manicure station. My nails look horrific, worse than when I arrived. She cut my cuticles until they bled, and left skin hanging around my fingertips. My nails were filed so short that it's painful. I just left the salon and the photos below were taken immediately upon getting in the car. If I didn't know another client waiting for their appointment, or if the salon wasn't so busy, I would have brought this to your immediate attention. She kept applying nail glue to it to get it to stop bleeding. After this, I did not get the full pedi experience. For my nails I showed her the photo and she gave gold powder. She got mad when I asked her to fix it like the photo and publicly embarrassed me in front of other clients. She not only rushed my nails but then cut 2 more cuticles and i bled. She wanted to charge a fix fee but after her cutting my foot and not doing my nails how I asked, she didn't charge. I'm trying to figure out why my pedicure was $50. I thought I would be receiving a quality pedicure, however, I was rushed in and out of the chair faster than you could say "massage". The technician, Trish, did not even apply any lotion to my legs or feet. She did not use sugar scrub on the bottom of my feet and only on the top of my leg. I left with incredibly dry feet that still are calloused. She also left me sitting and I had to get another tech to let me out of the chair. She disappeared. The positive: - I came here religiously for years to see Kim for dip manicures - she is AMAZING and I highly recommend seeing her if you choose to come. She was able to get the shape and length of my nails just right, she's very friendly, and was never pushy with sales. - the facility is beautiful and modern, and they serve wine and fruit with your services The negative: - prices have been raised several times since I started coming here. Of course this is to be expected, but they did price themselves out of my budget - there were several times that I had an appointment scheduled that Kim was never made aware of, once even on her day off. When this happened I often had to wait 30 minutes to an hour past my appointment time, or reschedule for a day she would actually be there. The manager was less than apologetic when this happened. Overall I would come back to see Kim for special occasions, but the consistency with appointments and pricing is lacking. read more

I have frequented Escape Nails and Spa pretty often over the past few years and usually have a 5 star experience. The prices are pretty reasonable, the salon is beautiful, and there is a wide variety of polish colors to choose from. I'm disappointed this time because it doesn't really seem like covid precautions are being taken seriously. All of the technicians were wearing masks, which I appreciated, but there is very little social distancing happening. I booked an appointment for this morning and when I arrived I was shocked to see almost every station filled. They also provide a fruit plate and infused water which normally would be a lovely touch, but I was a little uncomfortable with people removing their masks to eat and drink when there wasn't space to keep a 6 foot distance. I enjoyed my experience for the most part. Other than some rogue polish on my skin, my pedicure looks great, but I'm not entirely sure I will be back before I can get vaccinated. read more

I went here as I had a gift card. My gel nails chipped in less than 24 hours. They fixed the chipped nails two days later and gave me a top coat on all nails. I had another chipped nail after four days. The entire time the owner was fixing my nails she told me I didn't keep my nails in the UV light enough to keep the lamp hot. Clearly it's my fault. My sister also got gel nails here and her nail chipped after four days. Their policy is that they will fix your nails if they chip within three days. They refuse to give your money back. I was a regular at this shop until today. My sister who lives in Richmond for years has been coming here and recommended this place to me. The first time I came here I went to Linda who does her nails all the time and they look great. Not sure if Linda didn't know how to do gel polish but my nails looks like bubbles. Pictured below. I then found Eddie who got the shape right and for the most part had been consistent until recently. He rushes through the process and several times has keep the file on my nails too long where it burns my finger. After 2 days I had to return to get a nail fixed that was bubbling cause the paint had not dried the first time apparently. And then as you can see below all my nails started chipped. I am not rough on my hands. I use gloves to clean and wash dishes. It was just poorly completely. When I spoke to the owner she was rolling her eyes when I expressed my concern and she became defensive when I asked to have them all painted over for consistency . She declined and said it would be 30 dollars. I said no fix my nails and this will be my last time here. They aren't loosing money or man power by repainting all my nails. Now you can see a difference in how the old nails look and the new nails look. The tech Vi vi didn't even wait for my nails to dry before leaving the station. She never returned and was chilling with her friends in the back. I just got up and left. So I'm still dissatisfied. I just choose not to argue people down.
