Great salon... super clean, lots of staff, great customer service and pricing--nails look great!

If you want it to sound like a genuinely angry and dissatisfied customer while remaining professional and credible, you could write: I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Bamboo Nails. I have been a loyal customer and have visited this salon at least 4-5 times for nail and pedicure services. Just a month ago, I spent nearly $250, including tips, for a pedicure and acrylic nail extension service, and I left satisfied. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was completely unacceptable. I booked an appointment simply to have my gel removed. Despite having an appointment, I was made to wait for over 30 minutes. When I was finally attended to, the technician seemed overwhelmed, distracted, and more focused on everything else happening around him than on the customer sitting in front of him. Multiple times, he used the electric file on my natural nails instead of the gel, causing discomfort and repeatedly apologizing afterward. What frustrated me most was that he kept walking away, talking to other people, and taking his eyes off my hands while working on me. The entire service felt rushed and careless. I couldn't help but feel that because I was only paying for a $20 service, I wasn't considered worth the time or attention given to higher-paying customers. I completely understand that Fridays are busy. However, if the salon is too busy to provide proper service, then appointments should not be accepted. I took the time to travel there, spend my money, and honor my appointment, only to receive a service that felt rushed, inattentive, and frankly worthless. Bamboo Nails has many positive reviews, and I have personally had good experiences there before. That is exactly why this visit was so shocking and disappointing. After this experience, I will seriously think twice before spending another dollar at this salon. read more

Went in for a pedicure. Waited only about 5 minutes. Multiple different pedicures to choose from. The one I chose lasted about one hour. The massage was phenomenal. They did a great job with the gel polish. Would highly recommend and will definitely go back when in the area again. read more

This place is huge! Plenty of spots for manicures and pedicures. And it's very clean! We got pedicures first thing in the morning without an appt and they accommodated us right away. They even let our daughter sit next to us and wait. Plenty of different services to choose from. Prices are moderate like any other salon. The people are friendly and a great job! read more

Excellent service always! I have been going here for years everyone is so nice. Very clean and I HIGHLY recommend!!!!!

Would highly recommend Macy as a nail technician. I had a great experience with her. She was very kind and careful, and my nails look and feel great. I got a gel manicure and pedicure. I've never tried nail art but will the next time I see her because I could see that she would be patient and do it well. read more

I went to Bamboo for a pedicure and a full set French manicure. I came on here to specifically compliment Andrew who did my nails. He took his time and even stayed late to finish my nails. He went above and beyond and I couldn't be happier with my nails. I will be back. read more

My daughters and I went to Bamboo, and one of the technicians argued with us. The Salon was full, and this used to be our favorite spot. No matter what, the customer is always right. It was unprofessional for the technician to behave that way, and not good business for the Manager to allow it to happen. read more

Bamboo Nails - After 1 week at the beach!! - Nail Salons Near Me - Ashland, Virginia

NEVER AGAIN!!! My experience here was horrible. I did give them 3 chances before I decided to post a review, just in case they redeemed themselves, but it's a definite NO for me. We called ahead of time to make an appointment and we were told there was no wait and to come now (we were parked outside). Once w got inside, we ended waiting almost 20 minutes. We got sat in the pedicure chairs (without water or anything) and waited again. Finally, someone came to run out water, but it was lukewarm, they didn't activate the spa bubbles, and again...... we waited. I took my feet out of the water, because by this time it was cold, and started putting my shoes on. That's when the guy came over to help. The rest of my appointment just went downhill. They couldn't get anything right and tried to charge me an extra $17 (gel) instead of $8 (basic) for regular polish. I will never go back to this place and do not recommend! read more

I am giving them 3 stars for the following Pros AND Cons: Pros- The people working there were really nice, willing to do/change what I asked. Paid super close attention to how my nails looked. Also amazing prices for pretty good quality nails. I got acrylics for 30 bucks which is awesome (plus students get a 10% discount on tuesdays). I'm pleased with my nails. Cons- The place itself, though cute, was not clean at all. They did my nails on a used dirty towel, there were leftover cotton balls from previous client on my table, the chairs were basically falling apart and squeaky, they didn't clean or sterilize any of the utensils which was mega gross. The entire workspace was dusty and had leftover crap from other clients. Overall, I would go back because my nails look great, but sanitation and cleanliness was not their strong suit. read more

The vibe and appearance of the salon was great. And it ended there! This was our first time at this salon, and there were three of us for a mani-pedi. Our nails (feet and hands) were cut so short that the tips of our fingers were roughed up when filed. None of us were satisfied when finished but I was unaware of this until I met the other two next-door as I was the last one to finish. The actual polish and finish was really OK but there's so much more that was not. Mine were too short and 3 weeks later, I am now experiencing ingrown toenail, which has become infected. when I complained that the technician did not ask how I wanted my nails cut or shaped, I was told that she did not speak English. I was assured that I would get a better technician when I came next time, but no allowance was made for my dissatisfaction. Had I known the other two were dissatisfied, I would have insisted upon a credit of some amount. I will absolutely not be going back there ever. read more

I've been getting my nails done at Bamboo Nails for several years, and they have always done an excellent job. Recently, they have renovated and expanded the salon and made incredible improvements, so it's even more welcoming and comfortable when you spend an hour getting a pedicure in their new upgraded massage chairs. The staff are friendly and helpful, always willing to accommodate my requests. I love this place and I highly recommend it. read more

Wonderful team here at Bamboo! I get many services here and have always enjoyed my time. I'm here the Friday before Easter Sunday and they are SLAMMED, but they are getting everything done so quickly and safely! I love coming to Bamboo!! read more

I came here because my nail lady was busy. I walked in and waited about 5 minutes to be acknowledged. I sat down with a guy that didn't speak to me the whole time. He cut every single one of my fingers and painted over the blood. My nails looked horrible but I am never the one to complain. The next day my fingers were infected so I went back. All they did was say I was fine and took my nails off. They painted over them with gel and gave me a credit. Not coming back! read more

I visited this space from a suggestion of a family member. I am extremely picky about where I receive pedicures and manicures. They do really well with both. I receive the dip on my nail instead of gel and acrylic, and I love it! Best decision I could've ever made. I think this place gets it right. They have appointments, so the likelihood of you staying longer than you want to be is less. But there are still a bit of a wait on Saturdays and Sundays. The staff there is extremely nice and I look forward to coming back instead of dreading it. If I had to complain abound anything. I would definitely say the wait. read more

Here for state fair and not normally around, walked in and seated right away with a nice young man who tried to make small talk- we talked about food. The basic ($35) included lotion, oil, good massage, hot stone, hot towel. Did a good job on cuticles and buffing. Best nail painting I've had in awhile. He asked if I wanted a drink but forgot the water. I was enjoying my conversation so much I forgot until I just left. If that's the worst I had to say not bad at all. And I'm a Karen! read more

Horrible horrible service! I dropped my daughter off to get acrylic nails which shouldn't be much to begin with $35 for a full set design $5 got 4 nails with designs should have been $55 to $60! Nope $85 that was $85 with a "10% discount" this nail salon is a scam I can't drop my daughter off because they up the price give her dirty looks and tell her she can't get a design if she doesn't do dipped powder! Ridiculous Never Again! I will find a better place with set prices not a scam shop! read more

Bamboo Nails - Those aren't designs they are stickers!!! I could have purchased stickers and stocked them on! - Nail Salons Near Me - Ashland, Virginia

The entire staff is amazing. They are customer focused and take extreme pride in their work. They do not rush if they are busy.

Don't waste your money. I went in and got a gel paint done on my nails. Within 2 days several nails were completely gone. (All polish had just came off) I had one's come off while I was washing my daughters hair. I do NOT have a job that is hard on my nails. So, I returned to them they attempted to fix it. However, they DESTROYED my nails. The 2nd paint job lasted about the same time. I will also say my friend had came with me and she had the EXACT same experience. They have signs up the will give you a discount to leave positive feedback on Yelp. So, use extreme caution with reading the good reviews. Most people just leave good feedback for the discount. AWFUL AWFUL!!! read more

I would not recommend! I stumbled upon this nail salon, for the first time and decided to try them because they weren't busy. Big mistake! The lady who did my pedicure was very rough and left my cuticles bleeding. The man who did my liquid gel fill forgot to apply a top and base coat to my nails. When I noticed 35 minutes later and called he told me to come back next week. When I called two days later to see if it was a good time before I traveled 20 minutes to them. He (Tony) was very rude and hung up on me. I will never return any wouldn't recommend. I went to another nail salon and they pointed out that some of my previous polish hadn't been removed. Two of my nails were chipped also. read more

This is the best nail salon I have been to. There is no need to go anywhere else for your mani/pedi's. Everything is nice and clean, and they open a sterilized kit that includes a new file and block file. They are usually very busy but worth the wait! read more

Terrible service and quality! I went for my sisters birthday and they didn't let her sit with us and offered everyone some kind of drink but me! I asked for gel nails and the man took 10 minutes to do the entire set and told me not to move or talk to anyone! After I was "done", I had nail polish around my nails and the color was see through on my nails! When my sister showed me her nails, the lady said no talking and told her to turn around! Her nails were all different lengths and the nail lady hurt her when filing down her nails! Not only did the lady charge us extra for the shape (never told us) but they tried to trick us by adding an extra a charge for a manicure l, after I told them I did not want that! 100% would not reccomend!! My nails fell apart after 2 days!! Super thin and terrible quality! Never will come back here! read more

Came here on a Sunday with my mom and sister for pedicures. I've come here about 3-4 times since they opened. They were able to sit us after a 15-minute wait without an appointment (which really wasn't a wait consider I spent ten minutes picking out a color). Some of the colors were a little old but overall a good selection. All three of us got the Spa Organic pedicure for $36. It was great value including sodas, paraffin wax, and milk and honey scrub. Warning- the paraffin wax is HOT! Massage chairs were above average. They were patient and did a great job. My skin and heels felt so soft! read more

I have been here many times and will continue to return. Great service is always provided. Fridays are super busy so I like to go on M/T/W when they are not as busy. Mai does a fantastic job with pedicures/manicures and always ensure I am pleased with the service. Highly recommended. read more

I went to this location yesterday, December 6, 2016. I went in to have my eyebrows waxed and my nails painted. I didn't have to wait, so that was cool. I told the lady that was waxing my eyebrows that I wanted to keep them thicker. I'm not sure if there was a total difference in what "thicker" means, or if it was the communication barrier, but regardless, she waxed them down pretty thin. It's not that they look bad, but it's not what I wanted, and it's not what I said. I tell the lady painting my nails that I just want a manicure, and I didn't want gel. I picked out a pretty, glittery Christmas red. The manicure itself was pretty nice. The massage was nice too. After she finished painting my nails, I waited about 12 minutes at the drying table, just as she suggested, and I left. I really liked the way the paint looked, but the next morning my thumb paint was already chipped. What a let down. read more

I arrived at 5pm for a walk in and they quickly put me in. I was assigned a pedicure sink with a young man who told me he was about 16 years old, he seemed nice enough until I pulled my leg pants and he proceeded to tell me that he just worked on a very large lady and that he was afraid she wouldn't fit in the seat. He told me he was strong but not that strong and her legs were to heavy for him to lift. I'm not sure what precipitated that conversation but made me feel uncomfortable and vulnerable as I was not a skinny minnie myself. He proceeded to tell me that no matter what he needs to leave for dinner, so another person ended up taking over and she mostly did all his work over. For the nails I was seated and overall I was ok until they knicked my finger and it wouldn't stop bleeding. I did an acrylic nail with white gel paint. My total came to 104.00 which I thought was pricey. When I went to pay I was asked to not pay by debit card and to use the atm machine. which charged my card 1.00 and my bank charged me 3.00. Inhad my nails done for a work event but after one day my nails started to turn brown. I'm not sure what caused the discoloration but it was not a pretty sure. after 6 days the nails started to fall of and I was sick of looking at them I picked the remaining nails off. I would not go back there. read more
