Not the high quality pics they post. Coming back after my honeymoon to write my review : this place was so frustrating. The woman/owner at the front who answers the calls was clearly exceptionally talented. I do actually think HER work is the one broadcasted on social media. My maid of honor reached out via instagram with a photo of what I wanted for my wedding nails and when I got to the salon, I was excited to get started as it was the literal day before my wedding. (We DIY'd the WHOLE thing and I needed to make sure I didn't break any nails in the days before) I can't remember the name of my nail tech, but IMMEDIATELY I realized we were in a sticky situation. I tried to trust the process, showed her photos, told her I wanted a squoval French with the gold line to highlight the manicure. After I watched her MULTIPLE TIMES glue the tips on crooked, and I'm not talking like picky girl crooked, I mean DISFIGURED crooked - Once we got to the gold tip portion, I was told by the woman/owner up front "she can't work with metallics and do lines like that can you pick a different design?" In my head, I'm like, "did you not schedule this?" "Would you let me leave with my hands looking like this?" "Why don't you do it?" But she had another client and was doing anything absolutely gorgeous job on her nails while simultaneously dealing with a tough situation on the phone. I was so totally thrown off guard by this, already by the shape of my nails which definitely were very DUCK looking and the fact that we communicated with their instagram which is riddled with insane talent that I didn't know what to do. The woman up front/owner was very clearly and personally going through something on the phone that I really felt bad about and I just didn't want to ruin anyone's day so I just sucked it up and left with the absolute worst manicure of my life after so many times explaining that these were my wedding nails. My poor maid of honor got similar treatment where she got dip nails and her male manicurist put them back in white dip at the end so her nails literally looked like she played in glue. Im so frustrated. I understand people have hard days, but no one asked me any questions or seemed to care that I was getting married and chose their salon to do my nails. We had a huge wedding of 165 people and I had to show my ring to all of them - my nails will be plastered in photos for everyone to see. I tried to file them down on the sides, went to a cvs to try to fix them myself after our rehearsal dinner as I had 0 time to do anything since we were on a pretty big time crunch and my index nail on my left hand was literally pointing right. The salon itself is pretty, it seemed clean, but as far as marketing goes, I can't believe this happened to me. I paid 70 dollars and I always try to tip well, because I do want to believe the tech tried her best and that it wasn't necessarily her fault that the appointment we made was for something she couldn't do, so I tipped $20. Disappointed, sad and honestly feeling a bit robbed by them still. One week after as well, there was an odd gap of clear space between the French and the actual pinkish color that literally turned yellow on our honeymoon. Mortified to show my hands there. Now, even after I correctly took off the nails with acetone, I am left with an awful RING OF FIRE on my nail beds. this has never happened to me before and from what I hear, it means the tech was careless. The gift that keeps on giving! So now, after my wedding and getting my new and beautiful ring, I can't even get my nails done to show it off. I have to wait until these grow out. So impressed by the entire experience this salon provides! The salon aesthetics are clean and very pretty. I was a walk-in, and they had several patrons already being helped. The team were very kind to me and communicated the wait with compassion. I had a few questions about different options and I was given thorough advice, which I appreciated! I received a gel pedicure and a builder gel manicure. During my visit, I received some hard news on my phone and had a pretty hard time not being emotional over it. I didn't feel judged for crying in a salon, but instead felt their concern. They gave me water and some tissues, and offered smiles and asked how I was feeling as I worked through the personal issue. The builder gel manicure is phenomenal. I communicated what I wanted and received exactly that. I was very impressed with the care Christine gave to ensure that the gel laid evenly with no bumps. Long anecdote headed your way: former resident of Northern Virginia and future resident of NYC but living in Richmond for the month to take care of my mother. Had to say goodbye to my favorite salon in Falls Church at the end of October and currently struggling to find a reliable salon in Manhattan that won't charge me an arm and a leg. I had one bad experience in Manhattan before moving to Richmond, the work was almost embarrassing. Fast-forward to searching Yelp for a highly rated nail spa for the month and here I am. Removal for a full SNS set by another salon followed by a fresh set of SNS on long, natural nails ran me a total of $75 here. For my next visit, the outside salon removal charge obviously won't apply. My technician, Chan, was gentle but worked with accuracy around my cuticles despite me pulling away a few times (too much coffee). My nail tech Chan and everyone else in the salon were extremely friendly, relaxed and not rushed--all great signs. One customer scheduled not one but three subsequent appointments while I was just getting started in the chair, perhaps a true testament to the quality of work done here. read more

I love love love Luxe! My best friend kept telling me how amazing Diem (the owner) was, but I was faithful to my old salon....UNTIL I finally went with her. I will never go anywhere else. I get the builder gel and I kid you not, my nails last 3-4 weeks EASY (I typically don't wait that long, but during the pandemic, my nails held up so well)! She's amazing with my eyebrows too. I get so many compliments from random people. I also get the Spa gel pedi by Michael and it's legit the best massage I've ever had...seriously...it so relaxing. Not only do my nails look phenomenal...but I always have such a fun time there. The music is great, and all of the clients end up talking to one another laughing and joking (it kinda reminds me of like a female barber shop). Update 8/27/22: I was honest in my review and everything the owner has mentioned in her response, I addressed in my review. In addition, I told her exactly what I was going to do, I didn't post a review until days later because I wanted to try and reach an amicable resolution. This was not an ambush. I disputed the charges but my bank did not cancel the transaction so the salon and tech kept my money. At the the end of the day, what I walked out with at the end of my appointment is what the tech thought was good quality work. I shouldn't have had to point out how bad the nails looked, it's blatantly obvious. The photos speak volumes. If the tech didn't recognize that as poor work, why on Earth is that my fault? In addition, I'm supposed to go back to the same person who thought the original nails were fine, and not have an issue with that? Yes, my schedule did not allow for a 2nd visit, because like most people, my life does not revolve around my nails. I was traveling out of the country days after my appointment and was working up until the day I left. I went to the salon on my one day off. But most of all what I don't appreciate is that my being honest and saying I was uncomfortable, is met with derision. That my valid concern and complaint is summarily dismissed as my "just wanting my way". I ended up removing the nails and giving my self a set of Apres Gel X nails with gel polish about a week later. I was looking for a salon in Richmond that did Apres Gel X extensions while I was home for the holidays and came across Luxe Nail Spa. I made my appointment on Yelp and the owner was extremely responsive and made my appointment super quick. My friend and I went together and they were able to manage her as a walk in which was super nice. We were immediately greeted with warm smiles and great conversation. We were offered tea, coffee, and water. The Vietnamese coffee was absolutely delicious. I forgot the name of the young woman that did my nails and toes but she did amazing! (I believe it started with a M). She was extremely personable and paid close attention to all details. Luxe Nail Spa is a really small and cozy salon. The salon has been opened for 2 years and the decorations are really nice. I got the Gel Manicure and the tech that did my nails was really nice. She's been working here since they've opened. She buffed my nails first to make sure they're smooth. She took her time cutting my cuticles and she didn't rush through the service. My friend got dipped nails and they looked good on her. They did a good job with the shape and smoothness of it. This might be my new go-to place to get my nails done because the pricing is reasonable and they really take their time on you to make sure your nails look good. Haven't tried their pedicure yet, but probably something I'd like to try next time if I come there again. The only reason why this isn't a 5-star review is that my tech accidentally cut me and she got some of the polish on my skin. Not a huge deal to me because again, customer service was nice and these are just minor things to me. Hopefully, the next time I come here again, my experience will be better than today's (not that today was bad or anything, just minor details as mentioned). I loved this nail salon. Tucked away right next to the Short Pump movie theater. It's a small space, about 6 pedicure chairs and 6 manicure stations. I didn't make an appointment, but decided to try to get there right when they opened. They were already packed, so if you're in a time crunch, I highly recommend making an appointment. I went in, just for a classic pedicure, and had to wait about 20-30 minutes (did not mind at all). The staff was all so friendly and funny. Their technicians are fast, but very thorough. I was very happy with my pedicure. Another good perk, is that they're pretty reasonably priced compared to some other nail spas in Short Pump. This might become my go-to salon! read more

While visiting friends in Richmond, I decided to find a good spot for a pedicure. I checked Yelp reviews and Luxe looked to be the best choice. I was quickly seated and a nice gentleman showed me the pedicure options. I chose the deluxe (I think). It was $45. He did a outstanding job. He gave a lot of extra massage as promised in the description (which is the best part!) My toes were perfectly painted. I was very pleased during the entire experience. The spa is relaxing and it's not too large which I like. In addition, everything was clean from The spa itself to the pedicure tools and basins. I would highly recommend Luxe and will return on my next visit to Richmond! read more
