I prepaid for a massage for my fiance for his birthday back in August 2025. $250. Every time he went to schedule they told him they were booked and call back in a few months. A few months ago they told him they did not have a massage therapist anymore. I called to get my money back, again prepaid for a massage not a gift card, and after many calls a manager finally told me she would refund my card. It's been at least 6 weeks and no refund, no call, they now aren't even picking up the phone. Give me back my money thieves! read more

Horrible experience from start to finish. What made it worse was that the esthetician doing my facial was clearly sick--sniffling and congested the entire time. Shortly after, I ended up getting a cold and a cold sore, and now I'm left with a scar on my lip. My daughter also had a terrible reaction--she broke out badly after her facial. Because of all this, I canceled future appointments for my family, and instead of showing any concern, they charged me a cancellation fee. That just added insult to injury. As a physician, I take hygiene and safety seriously, and this place completely missed the mark. I will never go back and would not recommend it to anyone. read more

I see Nakisha every time for a brazillian laser. She's so friendly and gentle during her service. I'm almost finished with my sessions and I've seen amazing results. I'm practically hairless now except for a few stubborn strands left that are still being worked on. My ingrown hairs have improved vastly too I haven't gotten one since starting laser. The overall experience is always great and the staff is very knowledgeable and helps address and fix your skin concerns. They carry great product lines and the staff provides thoughtful recommendations on skin care products to use and routines to follow. I have seen a huge difference in my skin since I've been going to this spa for monthly facials. I've also had laser treatments done to target pigmentation which has been very effective. I remember 15 years ago when I started getting brazilians the lady told me that eventually the hair would be less and less and I would probably not even need to come anymore. Well she was a liar. Since then I have gotten used to the uncomforatble and awkward task that I find absolutely necessary. I typically go to Bombshell which has become where everyone goes and super hard to get an appointment. Last time I called they couldn't fit me in for six weeks. So I searched Yelp for an alternative and Glow Med Spa looked like the best option. They have three locations and I was able to find an available appointment in Short Pump the same week. This place is more of a spa like atmosphere where Bombshell is like a salon. It was very dark inside, my eyes took awhile to adjust. But it was serene with calm music and an aromatherapy diffuser going. Check-in was fast. My waxing experience was great. My appointment was with Jessica and she was professional and quick without being painful. They charge the same price as bombshell $45 for a brazilian and they seem to have more availiablity. I will definitely be back. P.S. They do not accept tips on a credit/debit card so you will need to bring cash to tip. It is so awkward finding that out when you get somewhere and only have a few sad dollars in your purse. read more

I hate writing bad reviews, but wanted future customers to know and be careful with what they try to sell you so you don't end up in the same situation - especially since I'm sure you value your skin just as much as I do and don't want to waste $$$: Giving this location 1 star for selling me an expensive toner that had an astringent alcohol as the SECOND ingredient (alcohol denat - incredibly drying and worsens your aging in the long run). It would have been fine if they accepted refunds over 30 days, but unfortunately I didn't find out about this awful skincare ingredient from my dermatologist until the deadline had passed (even though I hadn't opened the product). I double-checked with another dermatologist friend as well as my previous esthetician (from where I moved from), just in case, and they confirmed. I can't even resell it in good conscience. Regardless whether they didn't know about that ingredient, or sold it knowingly to me anyways, it's pretty terrible; shouldn't you be able to trust your esthetician? The facial itself was questionable. This deep pore cleansing facial left me pretty raw and splotchy in comparison to their other locations...so for both these reasons I won't be coming back to this location. This was my first time coming here and I loved how she left my skin feeling clean and after two days my skin never looked brighter and my dark spots were fading away already with reduced breakouts. Went to this location for my annual birthday massage. I had a new person, Melissa do my massage and I must say she was awesome. Very professional, and I left there feeling extremely relaxed. The best massage to work out the knots is the deep tissue massage. It's my favorite one to get my back feeling right and relieves my stress. I just received the oxygen facial with Anna and had a wonderful experience. I've received facials before (in NYC, NoVA, and Richmond) and Anna is definitely knowledgeable and skilled. She has a clinical/medical background which I also really appreciate. She took the time to get to know me and my worries and her technique was wonderful. My appointment did start late but she and the front desk staff handled it well and had great customer service. Overall, facility is clean and the atmosphere is upscale-spa-like. Price is (very) comparable and competitive to other facilities. She didn't push me to buy any products but I ended up buying 2 just cause I'm in dire need of some improvement. Taylor at Glow Med Spa is amazing and the only person I trust with my face! I came to Taylor in September for a facial after almost giving up on my skin. My face had layers of dead skin trapping layers of oils and dirt creating pustules and acne. Gross. I was also dealing with a bad case of untreated rosacea. I refused to be seen without layers of makeup to hide the redness and bumps (as best as was possible). I was desperate for any kind of help before being in hundreds of pictures for a wedding. I randomly found Glow Med Spa and booked with Taylor (a God-send). Taylor helped me create a daily regime that worked with my sensitive and inflamed skin (vs my old system which was making things worse). Taylor's monthly treatments (C02 Bombs, peels, high frequency, masks, extractions etc.) between September and December transformed my skin DRAMATICALLY. Taylor also encouraged me to visit my dermatologist again and get a prescription for the rosacea which helped substantially. With all these factors (all driven from Taylor) I went from hiding my skin to loving it! The pustules are 99.99% gone, the redness has been significantly reduced and my skin is healthy and glowing. It just keeps getting better and better! The treatments are effective and relaxing. I now eagerly anticipate my next treatment! Taylor's hard work, knowledge, and positive attitude took me from ashamed to proud of the skin I'm in! This girl has skills! read more

This place was great. I had a facial with a microderm and it was a great experience from the time I walked in the door. Very clean, comfy and zen. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Aesthetician was a newbie, but knew her stuff. I'll def go back again during my stay in Richmond. The only negative is that they use the Skinceuticals skincare line that I have used in the past, but am not a fan. So, it would have been nice to have seen more skincare options. When I walked up to the door of Glow I was a little taken aback. They've covered the strip mall windows in the front of the place with yellow paper and put the menus on them, I guess to keep out the view of the parking lot. They're working the "relaxing spa" angle hard and parking lots are not too relaxing. Compared to the bright sunshine of the parking lot, the main room of Glow is very dim. My eyes adjusted quickly but as I stepped in it was so dark that I couldn't see and reached up to remove sunglasses. It was so dark that my brain thought I must have stepped inside wearing sunglasses! The decor is...a bit odd. There are Halloween sconces on the walls by the doors complete with fluttering fabric flames. The walls are painted that kind of rag/sponge paint pattern that your mom got really into doing for a while and there's a fake fireplace in one wall with fancy LED flames. The most bizarre and eye-catching bit of decor has got to be the giant fake trees growing out of the wall on either side of the fireplace. Their leaves are dusty. At first I thought the whole look was a little silly and balancing right on the edge of being Halloween instead of relaxing. As I sat there I kind of grew to like it. At the very least I can appreciate all the work that went into painting the place and sculpting GIANT trees into the wall. You should totally not read the reviews of a place as you're sitting in the waiting room, getting ready to get your service. You'll note the review that says they reuse their waxing sticks and then you'll pay attention during the wax and note that yes, this is true. Ewwieeee! Normally I never would have noticed this, since all the other wax places I've been to use the sanitary method and throw away the sticks after they touch your skin. Fie. The technician was a really sweet girl but she did reuse the stick. She also gave me a bit of an ugly bruise by sort of mindlessly pulling away the secondary wax. I squealed a little and she apologized, adding, "Oh wow, you knew I bruised you." Other than that she was totally sweet. She talked a lot and seemed quite nervous. She might have been new. I would be nervous if I was new to pulling the hair out of someone's junk. I don't think I'll be back for the bikini wax (they also made me wear a paper thong even though we were doing a full Brazilian) but they do have a lot of other interesting services to try. I'm particularly interested in their laser hair removal and laser skin treatments. This was my first experience getting a Brazilian so I was pretty nervous. As soon as you walk in, you know you're in a spa and the rest of the world is an after thought. the service. I checked in for my appointment and the receptionist even offered me a glass of wine. Very unexpected, but well appreciated. I was called to the back to get started and the lady explained the whole process to me about the different waxes they use. The lady was very chatty, which I appreciated since it kept my mind off things. The whole process was painless and I got plenty of tips on what to do for the future. I am definitely not one to hold back when I have a poor expiernece at a salon especially when paying a pretty penny, but I thoroughly enjoyed the services here! I just finished my second session with Lisa Marie who is fantastic (they recommend a total of 6 sessions). She was professional, friendly, and knowledgable. She was very pleasant and informative. Chelsea was very knowledgeable about hair removal and helped me choose the best option for me. I received a 60 minute Swedish massage with Nakisha that was amazing! She was very good and listened to my requests. I usually have a very difficult time relaxing and clearing my mind, but I actually fell asleep! Nakisha also performed a leg wax for me. Melissa is amazing! I've seen her a few times now for massage and I feel like a new person. She explained how massage therapy can improve my overall well being and help alleviate stress that my body accumulates on a daily basis. Thanks to Melissa, the stress I used to carry in my lower back is completely gone. She has also helped me with stretching muscles in my chest and shoulders that I didn't even know I had. My skin feels smoother and well conditioned and my joints and flexibility have also improved. The occasional muscle spasms and cramps I used to get in my thighs and calves after working out, no longer happen thanks to her. She also explained how massage assists with the release of endorphins and increased oxygen flow throughout the body. I am finding that my quality of sleep has improved and this has helped increase my concentration and energy while at work. I was lucky enough to have Cory give me a 90 minute massage and I immediately felt at ease with him. He's knowledgeable, thorough and professional. I'll start off by saying that I hope my review doesn't get to be too long. If it does, well, I apologize in advance. Now, I might be a tiny bit biased, seeing as I've never been to a spa or gotten any kind of facial before [most I've had are manicures and pedicures, elsewhere], but just.. wow. This place was and is amazing. I only had two days off, and the day before yesterday, I had to spend it sleeping [I work nights]. I didn't have time the other day to schedule an appointment for yesterday, so I was taking a huge chance that they would have a time available for me. Happily though, they were able to get me in for a 1440 appointment. Annoyingly, my GPS wasn't able to find the street they're one [I'm directionally challenged], but after speaking with Veronica, who also made my appointment, she helped me find the place. Thankfully it's only minutes away from where I live. I parked right in front of the building, and walked up to the covered doors. I appreciated it, because I was already exhausted and wanted a dimly lit place. I came into a nice dim room, where there were fake trees on parts of the wall, and I adored the sconces. I read another review where they said it seemed like Halloween decorations. I didn't get that vibe whatsoever. Another place said it seemed almost like a cult place. Again, didn't get that feeling. I found it just.. nice and peaceful. Sign-in, or registration was quick and easily. She, Veronica, just had to get a little bit of information, and I took a seat next to the fireplace [LED], and waited. Only a couple minutes had passed before I was warmly greeted by my esthetician, Elizabeth. We shook hands, and she told me where the room would be. I enjoyed having a room on the very end. Even though it's a spa place, you never know. Some people could be loud, so being on the end would reduce most noise. The room was quaint and smelled just as pleasant as the waiting area, if not better and a bit more stronger. Now, keep in mind again, that I've never had a facial or anything like this done before. So, I was nervous. After I was settled in and onto the heated bed, she came back in and we were talking. She examined my skin, and let me know her thoughts, all in a completely pleasant manner. She was just positively sweet. Well. Sweet and patient. I know she could tell that I was nervous, and all throughout the 80 minute facial and cleansing, she was always reassuring me and just being nice. She tried making some things as painless as possible, but there's always going to be some pain. And wow. I actually wasn't expecting any kind of massage other than on my face, but she massaged my neck, shoulders, and upper body in general. It was heaven. She asked first though, because she said that some people don't like massages [who doesn't? They're fantastic!], so she wanted to make sure I was fine with it. She even massaged me scalp. Needless to say, when she was done, I was a pile of human goo on her table. The entire facial, even with the painful parts, was so just... nice. Lovely, even. I know my skin will be thanking me for days to come. To go into a little more detail of just how.. amazing she was.. dermaplaning. Now, I had never heard of that term before I came into there, but I didn't much mind. She was welcome to do anything she wanted to. When I got home, I read things on what exactly it is [even though she explained it], and I was surprised to see how some doctors said that most people aren't exactly qualified to do it. They go through the superficial layer of the skin and into the dermis, making your face bleed. Well, I never experienced any of that. It wasn't even painful. It just goes to show how qualified and excellent her skills are. Everything else is just as I said above. Fantastic. She's a skilled and extremely pleasant woman and esthetician. When she was done with me, we chatted a bit while I was still on the table, and I just got an overwhelming want to hug her. Of course I didn't because I didn't want to weird her out. But when I got re-dressed and went back into the lobby where she was waiting for me, she offered me a hug. I was happy and pleased and it just brought a smile to my face. That might seem weird to other people, but I for one love nice people. I think more people need to be like that. Superficial kindness isn't really kindness. I digress. I shouldn't have to say this, but I most /definitely/ recommend this place to anyone and everyone. I've already told a few of my friends about Glow Med Spa, and Elizabeth. And to be cheesy for a second.. that glowing person is the reason I wrote this glowing review for Glow Med Spa. Ok. I'm done. I got lip fillers by Tonia and she botched my lips. After a month of getting them done they still have several bumps and are extremely sensitive. Just had a Brazilian at the Glow Med Spa in Short Pump. It was my 2nd time gettting a Brazilian waxing, but my first time going to this spa. Words such as "amazing" and "awesome" come to mind when describing my experience . Chelsea performed the service and did a fabulous job. She made me feel comfortable, performed the service quickly (I was done in less than 30 minutes), and did the waxing with minimal discomfort. In fact the experience was good as it gets for this type of service (my first Brazilian was a session of torture, comparable to natural childbirth). The Spa is decorated beautifully, and has a soothing and relaxing ambiance. I will definitely become a regular client. read more
