I came in with my future mother in law for our first visit. It's in a very convenient location with restaurants and shops around to make a nice afternoon. The couple that runs it is very sweet and inviting , and they did an amazing job on our pedicures, manicure, and dip nails. The salon is very clean and charming , and they have a ton of colors from all the top brands like Essie and OPI as well as a ton of gel and dip colors as well. Looked ok from the parking lot but as soon as I opened the door I was well aware I had made a mistake. Being in a pinch I told myself I would just get a basic mani pedi and get out. I should have walked out as soon as I opened the door. Chop shop! No sanitization. Nail clippers straight from drawer and straight back in drawer. The brushes they used at the pedicure tub are old and gross. Hard plastic bristles rubbed over my feet and then the brush was put right back in the cart. They all have gloves on but only to protect themselves. Cross contamination all the way around. Thank god I brought my own polish from home. The girl that did my service was nice but she piled polish on my nails in layers and when she finished she said to sit for 5 to 10 mins then I could go. Well I did what she said even though I was dodging fruit flies and other gnats from doing the backstroke in my wet polish. When I went to bed that night I woke up with sheet prints and lines in my polish because clearly each coat wasn't allowed to dry before she piled the next glob on top. I paid and was asked not to use plastic but cash only for service and tip. I should have just lit that $80 bucks on fire. I will never return here. It is filthy and so gross. The girl that did my service didn't even take my old polish off all the way. It was clear but you could tell it was there. She Just started filing away. Used a Dremel like tool that the burr was never changed or cleaned. Just nasty. Like dirty nasty. Please don't get me started on the "hot towel" that she used. Ickkk! read more

As much as I want to gatekeep this place I won't, they deserve all the business they can get! I've been coming to Lotus Nails for 5 years despite living 40 minutes away. The staff is always friendly and extremely professional, and their quality of work is always incredible. I never think to make reviews for places, but Lotus Nails deserves the credit. read more

This salon, formerly known as Lotus, is now called "Banana Nails" by the current operators, however they seem to continue to do business under the name of the previous owners. I booked an appointment for a mani pedi for myself and also as a treat a pedicure for my elderly father. I had a great experience at a salon in Short Pump, but didn't want to drive that far since we would be in the Ashland area that day. As we approached the door, a woman and her daughter entered first. They were asked if they had an appointment and they answered that they did not, they were passing by. We were standing directly behind them. Instead of honoring our appointment, they took these two women and told us they would be with us shortly. Terrible customer service, but hoping that they would be true to their word, we waited. Big Mistake! They took my father in about 5 minutes and started his pedicure. I had on dipped nails (my first time and done by another salon) and they had me sit at a space away from the station and soaked my nails in acetone. My nails sat in acetone for over 20 minutes and I can tell you that by the time they finally got to me, my nails were in terrible shape. I later looked up if this was the correct process and it is a surefire way to cause real damage, especially after a dip! However, if the purpose is to waste your time because they don't honor appointments and want to keep you waiting, well that it did. I proceeded with the manicure, which was meh compared to the manicure at the salon in short pump and I cancelled the pedi since my father was now waiting for me as they had just started with me. Do not use this salon. Your time is not valued. The integrity of your nails are not valued. You are only $$$ to them only. Oh, and what's with not being honest with the name and staff change. When I saw a brochure for "Banana nails" I asked why they had a price list for another salon. They said that they had bought out Lotus nails. So all the 5 stars for Lotus nails no longer apply here. read more

Two stars for decor, atmosphere and the friendliness of the staff. Zero stars for quality. Paid $144 for a spa pedi with gel and full set with gel. We started by sitting in the pedi chairs for over 20 min waiting with feet in water bc this huge salon only had 3 employees on a Friday. Pedicures went well with rika and kimmie. Kimmie used the cleaning brush to scrub my friends (blue nails) legs which hurt a bit but nothing else surprising. Next rika passes me off to wok bc she wont do acrylics bc she makes more money doing pedis. Her nails (which she did herself) looked flawless. But she refused when asked to do mine. Wok put my middle nail on crooked. I told him twice and he didnt change it. He also really struggled with the coffin shape. Some are more narrow and some are leaning quite a bit. Sean left my friends fingers red and painful! He was so rough with the cuticle care that she said she was on the verge of tears. We both leff with thick and really dirty (underneath) nails. I was so excited to try the new salon sincr thu thu sols divine nails on 3... but this place will not be my new go to. read more

My spirit child invited me to get my hooves and paws buffed and polished yesterday. We were on the hunt for an open nail salon that had openings for two patrons. We thought that the nail salons would be busy, but not booked solid for a couple of months. We both had called several salons before we reached Lotus Nails and Spa. We scheduled an appointment for 4:30, and although I had an idea where they were located based on the listed address, I will never rely on my mental GPS again! I was definitely wrong about their location and we were running a little behind. To my pleasant surprise I received a call from the business, verifying our appointment and confirming their location with us. We arrived a few minutes later, however the owners a lovely husband and wife warmly greeted us. Charlie the husband accommodated my spirit child and Michelle took care of me. We were the only patrons at the time, due to the new regulations, and I actually preferred all the attention being the Queen I am lol. They got to work on my hooves (feet) and the pedicure was amazing. I normally upgrade my pedicure because I love the extras and it was well worth it. They had all the latest colors and the place was your typical salon. The creme de la crème IS always the customer service, and satisfaction of service or product. I can honestly say I'm very glad I stopped at this hidden gem in Ashland. They're about 5 minutes away from Virginia Center Commons, the area is very nice and safe. The owners are a joy!
