Vin is AMAZING!!! The salon looks like a little hole in the wall from the outside but it was possibly the best mani / pedi I have had to date. I was greeted by a super friendly girl right he when I entered and picked out my colors and was seated almost immediately. It was quiet with just a TV for sound, and my nail tech Vin was the BEST!!!! His foot massage and attention to detail is out of this world. Their prices are unbeatable ($40 for a gel mani and regular pedi) and I seriously cannot get over how perfect they are and how much he took his time. Amazing! Jenny did my pedicure which was excellent. She is obviously knowledgeable about how to cut nails and is quite personable as well. The price is very reasonable compared to other salons. The MAJOR drawback is the loud talking in Vietnamese among the staff--from the front to the back of the salon and with 4-5 technicians joining in the conversation. It is very offensive and certainly not a relaxing atmosphere for a salon. They REALLY need to correct that! read more

Was looking for an affordable nail salon to take off dip powder to let my nails breathe for a bit, and do a Mani/pedi. Decided to check out Nail Starz who quoted me $35 for the service + $5 take off (which is cheap, if u have been to others) and was right in my budget. The services were fine and they seem to have a loyal customer base. The pedicure was nice and not rushed at all. I appreciated that they asked if I wanted just the pumice stone used for dead skin removal or the grater thingy. The foot massage was nice and relaxing too. Jenny did my nails and did a good job. It had been SO long since having regular polish, but I was pleased. Two weeks later I'm impressed the Polish is still looking ok (not super shiny, but not dull and chipped either). The only downside if any is the employees talk to each other ALOT-and they are somewhat loud and non-English speaking (at least for these conversations). Not a bad thing, but just not a relaxing environment with people yelling across the salon. Manageable, but just worth noting. read more

First time going there and the staff was very friendly. Finally found someone to do my nails the way I like them.

After a lot of research due to being nee to the area, I decided to try out this salon. It was June 15th. I called tbt day prior and the gentlemen was very polite and said I could come in at 10am on Tuesday. I was fine with this and figured it gave me plenty of time before I needed to be at the airport by 3pm. Going here was a bad decision! Let me explain. 1. I waited roughly 45 minutes for my pedicure to start after my scheduled appointment. While waiting I prompted staff and asked if I could soak off my dip powder. 2. What pedicure? The guy removed the shellac off my toes, clipped my toenails, barely cleaned the sides and then said "she will paint your toes." I didn't think anything of it and figured the lady would finish my pedicure. It wasn't until she told me to exit the chair that I realized I never received a lef massage, lotion, hot towel, etc. (all the great things about a pedicure). I asked the lady if for some reason their salon does not do any of that. She said they do and spoke to the gentleman in her native language. She then said, "I'll give you a lotion at the end." I told her no, I didn't get 1/2 of my pedicure! The guy then looked at me and said, "sorry, we busy!" It was so bad! I don't care how busy you are. I had an appointment and I am a paying customer. Not to mention they were not even that busy! There were 2 other people present and one lady came in to get her eyebrows waxed (P.S. She was in the back for her eyebrows for a long time and came out yelling and very angry!). 3. The lady kept stopping my nails to do other stuff. My appointment was at 10. I was still there at almost 1pm. She was rough. She did a sloppy job. See the photos!. 4. At 1pm the lady tried to redirect me to the pedicure chair for my "lotion." Once again I told her he didn't do anything, not just skip the lotion. I told her at this point I did not have time because I had a flight to catch. If I wouldn't have had to wait so long and if the guy did it correctly the first time we wouldn't be in this situation. 5 (the kicker!). I go to pay. I don't fuss. The guy looks at me and says, "we will give you a $2 discount for no lotion." This made me SO mad. Once again I looked him in the face and told him he skipped half of my pedicure! His response - "sorry, we busy. That's the lowest I can go." I told him that's ridiculous . The lady said something in his language and then he said. "Ok I'll do five." I was so mad, But still paid and tipped, because that's what I believe in. Unfortunately they lost a potential great client. 6. I am giving them 2 stars vs 1 star because it is currently 3 weeks later and the dip has stayed pretty well on my nails. Appearance: this place could use an update. There is black duct tape on each of the pedicure chairs. There are labels on the pedicure chairs stating to tip your worker. I get it. Maybe people don't always tip like I think the should, bur I don't and to read a sign about a tip wherever I sit. read more

I was overall happy with the service. My biggest complaint and the reason I'm giving it two stars, is when I went to pay for my nails, I was told it was $40 for a pedicure and a manicure. I specifically asked for a pricing sheet when I was getting my nails done. They handed me this one. I told the guy ringing me up that their pricing sheet said $34 for both. I showed him it. He laughed and said "This is 10 years old. We don't use it anymore." I said "That was what was handed to me and this feels like a bait and switch. And if it's not your prices, it should be thrown away and not handed to customers." I paid the amount he said because I didn't want to cause a scene. He didn't know what to say, except repeating himself and laughing. I will not be returning there again. read more

I have been going here since about 2007 to get my nails done. Cassie is wonderful and is very helpful. She is amazing at doing French mani and pedis. The lines are straight and not chunky. Even though I don't live as close anymore I always drive back here every 1-2 weeks. Not once has Cassie ever cut me. I cannot say that about past salons. I will go no where else in Richmond. They have a lot of walk ins but if you want Cassie then make an appointment. read more
