Went in on Sunday to get a dip manicure with my friend-
I liked my dip powder but when I left the salon I noticed how 'bubble like' my nails looked, especially my left hand, it was way thicker than my right. They weren't shaped at all, they usually will file the sides, which I specifically remember not being done, but I thought they had looked fine when I left the salon. My left thumb had ripples on it, like the kind when the shellac isn't dry and you touch it, mine was cured under the light like that. On Monday I noticed that it started to lift, and the polish started to peel.
I don't like being THAT person and calling and complaining and I understand that mistakes happen, I was going to stick it out but honestly it's expensive, and I wasn't satisfied at all I hated looking at my nails.
so I called and made an appointment to fix my nails.
I went in to my appointment, a few minutes early -
Right off the bat the lady was extremely rude, I ignored that she had an attitude assuming it was from other work related issues; I work in the service industry, so I know first hand how customers can get, and I know that it gets stressful, so In no way was I trying to make this a petty visit.
I told her if she could please make them thinner, and to just dip them once in OPI Bubble Bath ( I was keeping in mind that I wanted to make this as easy as I could because I assumed I wouldn't have to pay again)
She continued to tell me " no I can't do that for you, it'll be thicker" and that she was going to do the bubble bath in the shellac color- I kindly explained to her that it would chip again if I got shellac again,
She then told me that it's a light pink and you can barely see it.
I then wondered if she thought that the color I had previously chosen was the problem which it wasn't
She then proceeded to slam the basket of nail samples in front of me, so I looked through them then explained to her that I have had bubble bath before and the color would be fine, as long as my nails get filed and shaped.
Throughout the service she was saying to me that the lady who did my dip from before did a good job, and that there was nothing wrong with my nails.
I respectfully told her that my left hand had thicker nails than my right, it was chipping and lifting after 2 days (which has never happened before) and she proceeded to explain to me that the lady knew what she was doing.
She shaped my nails and I told her that the lady didn't shape my nails, or file them in any sort, and she immediately said "no yes she did, you were talking with your friend you didn't notice"
I was taken back by this because I know that she didn't because my nails now look significantly different than what I had walked in with and I explained that to her. And she continued to just say that the lady did them correctly.
She also mentioned that if I had a problem I should've called her immediately, or I should've sent her a picture of my nails ASAP, that wouldn't have been a problem if-
1. I knew that I could send them a picture, but to what number?
And
2. I'm constantly working and in school so I did it as soon as I could, treating 2 days like it's a week is ridiculous. My dip manicure shouldn't do that in 2 days that's why I get dip!
If you don't want clients coming back if they aren't satisfied, then don't tell them to do so if you're going to be rude the entire time, and blaming the customer for the botched nails that one of your employees was responsible for. if I didn't have a legitimate issue I wouldn't have gone back, because I do not like spending hours upon hours at a nail salon.
I ended up giving her a $15 tip, because I appreciated the fact that she fixed them very well, and she payed attention to detail, if it was done right the first time then I don't think my nails would have needed that much of shaping and filing.
I thanked her and told her that I was appreciated it, and that I loved the way they looked,
I got no response, I wish I didn't tip her the $15 because how rude she was throughout the entire service. That is so unprofessional and made me feel so awkward,
Why would you make a customer who had a problem with the way one of your employees did there nails, feel horrible about even being unsatisfied with the service, as if I'm doing something wrong?
I will never return to this place, and I do not understand how they keep clients with how rude and disrespectful she was. blaming the customer when they aren't satisfied is disgusting. read more
