I had an appointment I booked online a couple weeks in advance, and I still waited 20 minutes past my appointment time to get started. I was glad to see that all metal tools were sterilized and in a sealed pouch, especially when the tech cut my finger while trimming my cuticles. She seemed unbothered, but did try to sterilize the area and stop the bleeding. The three techs that were working helped one another since they appeared short handed, but that left clients waiting unattended in the middle of their service, and the techs did not wash or sanitize their hands when transitioning between clients. The gel polish was applied very precisely, and the end result was good, but the manicure was pretty bare bones & the experience was a little rough. It is noticeably less pricey than other salons close by, but the experience reflects that also. read more

If you are particular about your nails, don't do this to yourself. I despise leaving negative reviews and really hoped to have a good experience here as I just really needed my nails done this day, but honestly, if I had taken the time (as I usually do) to read some of the reviews myself before hastily deciding to try it I would have avoided the fallout. So I hope my review helps someone else. I made the grave mistake of going here a week ago when my regular nail lady at Relax Nails (an amazing salon up the street that I'm typically loyal to) wasn't available and I've regretted it since the day I got my nails done. The woman who did my nails was nice enough, but the way she used the drill to take off my dip vs. solution was my first tip that this wasn't going to go well. Burned me three times on three fingers with the drill file, clearly drilling down to my nailbed. The dip was put on lumpy. Then she applied the top coat so poorly it was beneath the quality of even my 7 year-old niece. The shape of/filing of my nails was terrible. For the final act, when I went to wash my hands, the washcloths there to dry them smelled like mildew. I had to rewash and ask for a paper towel. It was all just super unskilled and sloppy, and I was so disappointed. I went back two days later because naturally they were chipping. Shortly after I left, the original chipped ones chipped again and so did others. I'm so embarrassed to go back to my regular person who is so careful, skilled, and takes excellent care of my nails and my nail health. She is going to be horrified with this work and that I let it happen. There might be nail techs here who do fantastic work, but I wasn't served by one. I'm just so relieved that even though I needed a pedicure, I had the good sense not to get one, because I would be even more upset. read more

My pedicure is fine, and my nail tech was nice. Very unclear about pricing and the manager (I think) was rather rude about it when I asked at the end. I was told one price over the phone, and charged more at the salon. When I asked about it, she told me I was wrong and the price I was paying is what she had told me. They also charged me $15 for gel polish and $15 to remove gel polish off TWO nails, which I think is incredibly high especially for an average experience. read more

I really like this place! Made an appointment for myself and two friends. First off the staff was extremely accommodating, warm, and friendly. I came here on a Saturday with my girlfriends. We were ushered to our massage pedicure chairs right away and given phenomenal pedi's. Service included choices of wine and champagne. Lee did my pedicure and Jessica took care of my nails, both fantastic. Jessica does facials too, apparently her facials are amazing. (My girlfriend's had facials, I did not). That is not protocol for Dip method and frankly I was exhausted from being there over two hours. Of course the top coat immediately peeled off that night. It was my first time going to this place and I'll be back! The pampering during my pedicure was incredible. Prices were fair, and the staff was quite friendly, especially my nail tech, whose name I believe is Thao. More importantly, I had a cracked big toenail that was lifting and I was afraid that debris would get under there and cause an infection. My nail tech actually removed almost the whole nail and rebuilt it with acrylic. I'm so pleased with the entire pedicure and no longer worried about the state of my toenail. Lee is the best. This is the best pedicure I've ever had. Everything about the workers and the actual pedicure was perfect. The only problem was an incredibly rude woman came in to get a pedicure and was laughing, yelling, and talking super loud on her cell phone. She was cursing and so disrespectful to those around her. There is an unspoken rule that you are quiet during these treatments and my amazing experience ended with me annoyed because of this rude woman. I think staff should have asked her to be quiet. The two other patrons and I exchanged looks of annoyance and disappointment once she arrived. I was going to give 4 stars because of this woman but decided against it because all the staff were lovely, aside from allowing this woman to be loud af on her phone for 10 minutes or so. I have been to this salon multiple times with no issues. However, I called a day in advance for a 12:30 pm appointment on Saturday, May 14th. I was graduating from college that day and wanted to get my nails done before. I received a call and voicemail from the salon at 11:20am which I thought was weird because they have never called me the day of my appointment. I tried calling back and the line was either busy or no one answered. The salon calls again at 11:45am and this time I'm able to get through. The lady basically said that she booked another appointment at the same time as me and wanted to push my appointment back as she "was calling me all morning". I did not expect the salon to call me nor is calling me an hour before my appointment constitute as calling me all morning. I walked in for a mani/pedi and was asked to come back in a hour which I agreed to so they wouldn't lose my business even though it meant killing time for an hour. When I arrived an hour later they sat me in a pedicure chair and went back to work on a client who had obviously just arrived. I waited 45 minutes for my pedicure to start. When I then said that I would no longer have time to do the manicure as well, there was no apology. The technician simply began calling clients (while still working on my pedicure) trying to get someone to come in earlier since "she had finished her appointments early." I have only been to this nail salon once but I was not impressed. I asked for a gel French manicure, the owner took care of me, as I was the only customer in the shop. I don't think the cuticle scissors were autoclaved before she used them on me. I was also asked to wait for 10 minutes while she waxed a walk in customer's eyebrows (there was another employee present who could have done it). I was also told that I could not use my credit card to pay because the salon was charged for every card transaction. The owner explained that in order to keep a promotional price going she would only take cash or check. I had to go to another store and use their ATM. Two of my nails chipped within hours of the manicure and the gel polish was flaking and peeling within a couple days. Over all I was just very dissatisfied with the service and will not be returning. read more

I was so excited to try this place out given the review. I called, scheduled an appointment and arrived a couple minutes early. I was greeted and told to pick out my color. I took several pics of potential colors and sat down. Although I had an appointment, I waited about 15 minutes before being seen. Once I sat down, the nail tech proceeded to wrap my nails. While doing so she inquired for my color. I explained that took a few pictures and needed my hands to make a final decision. Since I was being wrapped to remove existing dip, I told her that I would make a final choice when my hands were free. Although she never introduced herself, I asked and she indicated that her name was Jessica. The rest of the service was lower than mediocre. My dip was bumpy and the top coat came off less than two days later. Jessica was more pleasant to other people than she was to the person in front of her. I was disappointed and out of $60. Found this place based on a friend's recommendation. I got a shellac that lasted 3.5 weeks!!! It would've lasted longer, but they were purple and the contrast was too much with the new nail growing in. Sign up for their email list, you can get special coupons during holidays and your birthday. You can also do a shellac without "manicure", which still cuts nails, cuticles, and color for only $18! The last place I went was in the Wellesley plaza, and their Shellac only lasted a week, and then started popping on the sides. read more

I've been to this location several times and received excellent service. Yesterday was not the case. My boyfriend and I drove over an hour to get pedicures here because we both had had a great experience there prior. We walked in around 12noon. It wasn't busy. We were asked if we had an appointment. We said no. We were then told we could not get a deluxe pedicure due to timing or to come back around 5pm. They offered to do a regular pedicure instead. Since we drove over an hour, we agreed to get a basic pedicure. The pedicure was okay. The lady doing my feet was sweet but she failed to offer anything to drink. Only when the lady came in to do my b/f feet offered him something and then me. But our greatest irritation came towards the end when the next lady came in. They asked her if she wanted regular or gel nails. They offered her a drink as soon as she sat down. They handed her a menu to choose which pedicure she wanted. If they were busy, we would have understood but there seemed to be a preference in clientele. So we won't be back! read more

I've been to the nail salon before and had no issues. So I went back to take my daughter for her birthday. However, this time the service was the absolute worse I've ever received in my life. Jessica had a very nasty attitude and proceeded to get extremely angry and storm off while doing my daughters nails. She claimed it was due to us asking questions and talking, which should never be an issue when you're a customer. Customers should be able to ask questions and talk and receive sufficient service. It's a nail shop, a place of business, a place to relax chill talk and unwind. Never in my life have I heard of anything of this nature. She stormed off and went to talk about us to her colleagues and other customers, then came back crying as if someone did something to her. When truly, she disrespected us completely. Those actions alone showed me she had some emotional and mental issues within herself. It's very sad how unprofessional she was and how she couldn't handle questions being asked. It honestly seemed as though it was a bad day for her and she decided to take it out on the customer. The service and rudeness was so horrible I couldn't even believe it and felt she owed us an apology, but she refused to understand her wrong doing. However, the guilt was written all over her face. Jessica is the owner and should set an example. However, she is unprofessional, extremely disrespectful, sadly pathetic excuse for an adult, and emotionally disturbed. She may have some psychotic issues based off her actions. She continued to raise her voice, roll her eyes, and just act like a child... but wanted to place blame on me for her actions. I proceeded to be the bigger one and told her exactly how I felt during check out at the counter, and instead of recognizing her wrongs and doing the right thing as I tried to have a decent civilized conversation with her... she proceeded to be even ruder. I truly feel that Jessica is a racist and has an issue with African Americans, as I've never heard her disrespect any other customers the way she did myself and my child. She needs help and should be ashamed of herself. A business should not conduct themselves in this matter at all. I was so disgusted at the services and disrespect, I had to truly tell her about herself and let it be known I will not tolerate it. Jessica's own friend walked me out and apologized on her behalf and stated he completed understood and that I did the right thing speaking up for myself and my child. The gentleman even stated that yes she shouldn't have handled it that way and was wrong. Although, I truly appreciated him and his kindness and willingness to step in, she should have been the one to correct herself. She doesn't deserve a business license as a nail tech. I'm currently in contact with my law firm to further discuss taken actions against her and complaining to the Commonwealth of Virginia's licensing department to ensure she is reprimanded accurately. Overall, this has become a legal manner, and to all the customers out there... please be aware of who you give your business to! They may initially portray to be nice and welcoming and professional, but the truth always reveals itself. I will say the other ladies have always been very pleasant and kind. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the owner, which is horrible because she should be the best behaved at all times. Fellow customers, never allow anyone to disrespect you nor speak to you as a child or as if you're less of who you are. Everyone deserves respect and every customer deserves to have a voice.
