Great place to get quality services! I popped in here on a suggestion from my sister who lives in Henrico. The nails salon itself is small, quiet and neat. They have a great selection of nail colors. Don't be fooled by the smaller selection near the front, there are a ton more colors near the nail stations! I had to wait about 20 minutes to get the pedicure going because the shop was pretty busy on a Friday afternoon around 1pm, so I didn't mind the wait. The nail tech was a guy and he did a great job on my toes. I got the regular pedicure but it felt like the deluxe because he was so good! He also did my fill on acrylic nails with a gel top coat. He talked me into getting the pearl finish which makes the nails shine with love! I loved it as soon as I saw it finished! I paid $62 for the pedicure and nails which isn't bad at all in my book and gave a $10 tip because of the great service Overall, this is a great place for nail services. A lot of the people in the shop were regulars which means they are doing something right!

Uhmmm first lets say the good parts: I made an appointment and didn't have to wait when I walked in. That almost never happens with nail techs. Okay-- so I've been getting my nails done for years. I decided to try someone new today just because I saw her (Vickie) on IG and said I would give her a try. My appointment was at 12:30. I got there at 12:20. She was done by 12:49. I probably don't have to save much more for folks who truly know the nail game but I'll continue for those who don't... The nail color selection was limited and scarce. The shop looked dirty. The nail buffer was so worn that there were chunks of foam missing from it. I showed her the design I wanted.. her response was "uh I don't think so"... she couldn't do it and then suggested another design that was nothing like what I wanted. She filed my pinky nail so low it was bending. I asked her to thicken it with acrylic. It actually STILL hurts hours later. I just got plain polish in fear of what that design would look like, seeing the fast and rushed fill in job she did. The price was $30 for a fill with gel polish which isn't bad. But she seemed kinda rude and rushed. I've NEVER had a 20-25 min nail job. Unless it was a fix. I won't be back. She also did not polish my nails all the way around. Uhm... I'll be going back to my regular shop. Sarah Nails. If you can-- go there. Service is impeccable. And clean. And they have refreshments and HUNDREDS (literally) of colors to choose. Won't be back. Don't go. Well not to Vickie anyway. I don't know about the others. But they need to clean up in there. ASAP.

I tried City Nails for the first time today, I had a gel manicure just over a week ago at another salon and it was ALREADY peeling so I decided to give this salon a try after my coworker recommended them. The salon is small and cozy, I stopped by around 4:00pm on a Wednesday and already half the pedicure stations and manicure stations were full, but there was no wait. I was directed to a box of palettes to pick out my color for my shellac/gel manicure... I wasn't super impressed with their nail color selections, but I ended up landing on a neon pink/orange that I really liked. The woman who did my nails was quiet but meticulous! She did a great job making sure my cuticles were trimmed and pushed back, and all the coats of polish were even. She was a little rough taking off my previous gel manicure (what was still remaining anyways!) but I know the glitter polishes are harder to remove sometimes... I just wish she was a little more conscious because it did hurt a little. But beauty is pain I guess! In the end my manicure looks incredible! She did a really great job and I think this manicure will last longer than my last from the previous salon.

City Nails & Spa is my favorite nail salon. I get my nails done by Vickie for over a year now. Vickie knows exactly how I like my nails shaped and I always leave happy. I'll come in with an idea for my nails and Vickie goes above and beyond to make sure they are exactly how I want. Not only is Vickie great but everyone that works there is too. Everyone is always welcoming and offering great customer service whenever I visit. I love getting my nails done every three weeks and they always make time for me when I make an appointment. They are quick and efficient.

Vickie and her staff are amazing! I've been coming here for almost a year now and as long as I've made my appointments and keep them on time the staff here keep me looking fabulous. No issues with lifting or easy breaking. My pedicures are on point and often I feel like those girls are going to put me to sleep! Love, love, love the work they do.

This shop has always been my favorite shop! Even during my travels I tend to wait for my nails until I come back home. Vickie, Anna, and the remainder of the staff has always been professional. I am always welcomed and my appointment times are always respected which is not something you normally see in a nail shop. The attention to detail on my nails always exceeds my expectations. If there is something I want corrected, it is always done on the spot. Highly recommend.

My mom brought me here several years ago and I've been coming here ever since!! I love all of the employees here. They're super friendly, enjoy conversation, genuinely like what they do, and all work very hard. Their prices are good and their work is A+ quality... I always make it a point to go mon-wed for their mani pedi deals. No groupon/coupon needed! This place is so good that I come only here and I live near Ashland/VCC area. I am the biggest stickler for good customer service and quality so yeah the drive is worth it. It's my mini-vacay from work/home. Now, let me clear up a few things... 1) No, I'm not Vietnamese. I don't speak their language not do I understand it so there's no "I'm asian, you're asian" type if deal here. 2) I am no cosmetology beauty buff but I know good products and they use good tools and nail products. I know where something is made and what ingredients are used and City Nails uses good products! 3) They work fast and do a great job! Must be an asian thing, idk ;-P but their work ethicis top notch. The ladies and Vu (guy employee aka: John) are all great. I highly recommend this place. I came during and after my pregnancies and never hot sick. They are sanitary and don't cut corners or get lazy. Try this place out! XOXO

I was recommended to this nail salon by a friend who went to Vikki and never had a disappointing appointment. I decided to try it out and one year later i am still a client of Vikki's. Everyone that works there is soooo sweet and kind and especially Vikki who takes time to know her customers. She's fast BUT efficient. I've never had someone so consistent, her work never changes! I will continue to be a client of hers... the salon over is small and cozy and provides a natural and comforting oasis. If you're unsure of where to go, this is the place for nails!

I have been going to this place for about a year and it was a convent place to work. The service is always longer than normal but adequate I have not been back for over six weeks now as I was gouged on the side of my foot and it is still healing. I think I will probably end up having a case against them if as I fear I have a huge scar running down the side of my foot! Nice ladies but so not worth the doctor bills and potential scar. Please see included picture of foot two days after being injured

I walked in asking for a fill and pedicure with Vicki since I saw her work on Instagram, but was told she was appointment only--even though their instagram says walk-ins welcome. I had to wait about 30 minutes for service which wasn't too bad for a Saturday afternoon, but there was no hot water so someone had to heat the water then add it to the tub. The lady that did my nails did a good job, but my color and design were slightly off. She insisted that she used the color I wanted, but it clearly wasn't. They still came out nice though. For a fill-in ($20) with shellac polish ($10) and halo powder ($10) along with a regular pedicure ($23), I paid $63 plus gratuity. It's not exactly what I wanted, but I still like my nails.

Not the high quality pics they post…read more Coming back after my honeymoon to write my review : this place was so frustrating. The woman/owner at the front who answers the calls was clearly exceptionally talented. I do actually think HER work is the one broadcasted on social media. My maid of honor reached out via instagram with a photo of what I wanted for my wedding nails and when I got to the salon, I was excited to get started as it was the literal day before my wedding. (We DIY'd the WHOLE thing and I needed to make sure I didn't break any nails in the days before) I can't remember the name of my nail tech, but IMMEDIATELY I realized we were in a sticky situation. I tried to trust the process, showed her photos, told her I wanted a squoval French with the gold line to highlight the manicure. After I watched her MULTIPLE TIMES glue the tips on crooked, and I'm not talking like picky girl crooked, I mean DISFIGURED crooked - Once we got to the gold tip portion, I was told by the woman/owner up front "she can't work with metallics and do lines like that can you pick a different design?" In my head, I'm like, "did you not schedule this?" "Would you let me leave with my hands looking like this?" "Why don't you do it?" But she had another client and was doing anything absolutely gorgeous job on her nails while simultaneously dealing with a tough situation on the phone. I was so totally thrown off guard by this, already by the shape of my nails which definitely were very DUCK looking and the fact that we communicated with their instagram which is riddled with insane talent that I didn't know what to do. The woman up front/owner was very clearly and personally going through something on the phone that I really felt bad about and I just didn't want to ruin anyone's day so I just sucked it up and left with the absolute worst manicure of my life after so many times explaining that these were my wedding nails. My poor maid of honor got similar treatment where she got dip nails and her male manicurist put them back in white dip at the end so her nails literally looked like she played in glue. Im so frustrated. I understand people have hard days, but no one asked me any questions or seemed to care that I was getting married and chose their salon to do my nails. We had a huge wedding of 165 people and I had to show my ring to all of them - my nails will be plastered in photos for everyone to see. I tried to file them down on the sides, went to a cvs to try to fix them myself after our rehearsal dinner as I had 0 time to do anything since we were on a pretty big time crunch and my index nail on my left hand was literally pointing right. The salon itself is pretty, it seemed clean, but as far as marketing goes, I can't believe this happened to me. I paid 70 dollars and I always try to tip well, because I do want to believe the tech tried her best and that it wasn't necessarily her fault that the appointment we made was for something she couldn't do, so I tipped $20. Disappointed, sad and honestly feeling a bit robbed by them still. One week after as well, there was an odd gap of clear space between the French and the actual pinkish color that literally turned yellow on our honeymoon. Mortified to show my hands there. Now, even after I correctly took off the nails with acetone, I am left with an awful RING OF FIRE on my nail beds. this has never happened to me before and from what I hear, it means the tech was careless. The gift that keeps on giving! So now, after my wedding and getting my new and beautiful ring, I can't even get my nails done to show it off. I have to wait until these grow out. I will update the review with more pictures as they come in but here they are currently less than 1 month post appointment
