Great place to get quality services! I popped in here on a suggestion from my sister who lives in Henrico. The nails salon itself is small, quiet and neat. They have a great selection of nail colors. Don't be fooled by the smaller selection near the front, there are a ton more colors near the nail stations! I had to wait about 20 minutes to get the pedicure going because the shop was pretty busy on a Friday afternoon around 1pm, so I didn't mind the wait. The nail tech was a guy and he did a great job on my toes. I got the regular pedicure but it felt like the deluxe because he was so good! He also did my fill on acrylic nails with a gel top coat. He talked me into getting the pearl finish which makes the nails shine with love! I loved it as soon as I saw it finished! I paid $62 for the pedicure and nails which isn't bad at all in my book and gave a $10 tip because of the great service Overall, this is a great place for nail services. Uhmmm first lets say the good parts: I made an appointment and didn't have to wait when I walked in. That almost never happens with nail techs. Okay-- so I've been getting my nails done for years. I decided to try someone new today just because I saw her (Vickie) on IG and said I would give her a try. My appointment was at 12:30. I got there at 12:20. She was done by 12:49. I probably don't have to save much more for folks who truly know the nail game but I'll continue for those who don't... The nail color selection was limited and scarce. The shop looked dirty. The nail buffer was so worn that there were chunks of foam missing from it. I showed her the design I wanted.. her response was "uh I don't think so"... she couldn't do it and then suggested another design that was nothing like what I wanted. She filed my pinky nail so low it was bending. I asked her to thicken it with acrylic. It actually STILL hurts hours later. I just got plain polish in fear of what that design would look like, seeing the fast and rushed fill in job she did. The price was $30 for a fill with gel polish which isn't bad. But she seemed kinda rude and rushed. I've NEVER had a 20-25 min nail job. Unless it was a fix. I won't be back. She also did not polish my nails all the way around. Uhm... I'll be going back to my regular shop. Sarah Nails. If you can-- go there. Service is impeccable. And clean. And they have refreshments and HUNDREDS (literally) of colors to choose. Won't be back. The work is not quality if you're not getting Acrylic. They really only care about clients that get Full Sets and Fills. The dip powder application is thin which makes them easy to break which will require you to come back in to spend even more money to fix. Vicky is their only main nail tech and she rushes. I tried City Nails for the first time today, I had a gel manicure just over a week ago at another salon and it was ALREADY peeling so I decided to give this salon a try after my coworker recommended them. The salon is small and cozy, I stopped by around 4:00pm on a Wednesday and already half the pedicure stations and manicure stations were full, but there was no wait. I was directed to a box of palettes to pick out my color for my shellac/gel manicure... I wasn't super impressed with their nail color selections, but I ended up landing on a neon pink/orange that I really liked. The woman who did my nails was quiet but meticulous! She did a great job making sure my cuticles were trimmed and pushed back, and all the coats of polish were even. She was a little rough taking off my previous gel manicure (what was still remaining anyways!) but I know the glitter polishes are harder to remove sometimes... I just wish she was a little more conscious because it did hurt a little. But beauty is pain I guess! In the end my manicure looks incredible! She did a really great job and I think this manicure will last longer than my last from the previous salon. read more

The shop in itself is great!!! The products and services are great!! Jenny, Maria all the pedi girls/guys are wonderful!!!! Vicki? Is VERY rude! For her to be the front of the operation, she has a bad attitude, always in a hurry, is really rough on your hands when filing, is short attitude wise with customers, yells at the customers if they aren't correct or want something they say they "can't do", when every other shop does the same things and weeks later you ask if they can do something similar & they do it! But couldn't do it 3-4 weeks prior. I go religiously every 2 weeks and if my girl left I would follow her but sadly Vicki is is horrible on a personal level. My mom brought me here several years ago and I've been coming here ever since!! I love all of the employees here. They're super friendly, enjoy conversation, genuinely like what they do, and all work very hard. Their prices are good and their work is A+ quality... I was recommended to this nail salon by a friend who went to Vikki and never had a disappointing appointment. I decided to try it out and one year later i am still a client of Vikki's. Everyone that works there is soooo sweet and kind and especially Vikki who takes time to know her customers. She's fast BUT efficient. I've never had someone so consistent, her work never changes! I had to wait about 30 minutes for service which wasn't too bad for a Saturday afternoon, but there was no hot water so someone had to heat the water then add it to the tub. The lady that did my nails did a good job, but my color and design were slightly off. She insisted that she used the color I wanted, but it clearly wasn't. They still came out nice though. For a fill-in ($20) with shellac polish ($10) and halo powder ($10) along with a regular pedicure ($23), I paid $63 plus gratuity. This was the worst experience I have ever had in a nail salon. And I have been to MANY nail salons. I came in and asked for a pedicure and shellac manicure, and the tech who did my pedi was nice enough. I went here today because my usual lady wasn't in at the nail salon and i needed to get my nails done in a hurry. To start, the lady (Anna) who did my nails rushed the entire process and wasn't that friendly at all. In the middle of getting my nails done, a lady walked in and requested that they fixed her nails she had just got done, and they gave her a really hard time and still made her pay to get them fixed. This was definitely a bit of foreshadowing of what was to come. So i originally had showed my nail tech a picture of a set that i wanted that had stars on every finger. And she told me it would 40$ for a full set plus 15$ for the designs. But midway through my appointment i decided to change it to a different design, a mix of a cow print on a few fingers and neon on most of the others. She rushed through the rest of my nails; they were messy, short, and not the shape that i asked for but nonetheless i go up to the register to pay and she still tells me it's gonna be 55$. So i ask why since i only got a design on 4 nails as opposed to all 10. And the lady at the front desk called my nail tech up and she said it was 45$ (different from what she originally told me) then 10$ because i GOT TWO DIFFERENT COLORS!!! When do salons EVER charge for multiple colors!? I've been getting my nails done since high school and have never heard of this. So she kinda just takes my card and gives it to the lady at the front desk. After sitting in my car for a little while i noticed how messy and rushed my nails actually looked so i decided to go back in and ask them about the price and ask that they clean up my nails. Long story short the other nail tech Vicky was extremely rude to me and was literally arguing with me saying that i need to "stop saying that she told me the full set was 40$ we don't even do 40$ sets" and like scoffed. And i kept telling her that that what the nail tech told me. Anyways, she (somewhat) cleaned up the paint that was all around my fingers and shaped them up a bit. And then i left. She didn't even say thank you or anything. Worst customer service i have ever received in the 10 years I've been getting my nails done. Do not BY ANY MEANS go to this salon. This was my second time and I will not be coming back. I was prompted to return because they do have a good deal on Mani/Pedi combos and $18 Spa Pedis on Wednesdays. They are only getting two stars due to price. Had the service been marginally better it would still be hard to give them a three star rating. My friend and I were seated for our pedicures and I was immediately told "I needed my eyebrows waxed". Granted I was planning on it but I hate when places are pushy like that. The lady also made a fuss over why my friend got her eyebrows done somewhere else and not here. In terms of the pedicure, aren't my feet supposed to feel softer afterwards? The leg scrub was the only redeeming part of the process. The "massage" was lackluster in comparison. I like to have a little pressure, my legs are not gonna break. The same lady did my eyebrows and she was rather rough while doing it. She kept grabbing my chin fairly hard to turn my head and pressing the cloth down a little harder than I feel is necessary to pull the wax off. My first experience was better but this time just ruined it for me. I hope to god the tub was clean cuz I had a cut on my foot. read more

PLEASE READ BEFORE GOING I went to this place for a really long time the work is always good but the service is terrible. I will have made an appointment for a certain time walk in and have to wait an hour. I have scars on my wrists and at one appointment the lady made fun of my scars the whole time she would laugh about them and ask me questions and I tell her to stop because it made me uncomfortable and she didn't stop I literally started sobbing in the nail salon because it made me so uncomfortable and all of the nail techs were telling me to to stop. The last straw was when I texted to make an appointment because I was going on a vacation and I asked for a huge group and they asked me what specifically everyone wanted and I told them that I didn't know what everyone wanted and they told me it was fine. then the day of the appointment they texted me and said they canceled my appointment because I did not tell them what everyonewanted. I was hesitant, as this place was a 20 minute drive, and I usually just hit some spot in the neighborhood where they'll do an eh job but get it done. My friend told me to try this place and ask for Vickie. Not only was I in and out faster than usual ( I got seen as soon as it hit my appointment time) but she did better than any other nail tech I've had. I have skinnier nails and they usually can't shape right so I end up with fatter nails then I like. So happy with the end result and this is my new nail spot. read more

Vickie is a sweetheart. She prefers appt via text which also makes for an easy and quick service. I normally spend 45mins to an hour here. Vickie is the lead nail tech but does majority appointments. There are other nail techs available to take walk ins but Vickie is my Go To. I love her. She shapes your nails perfectly and I'm big on that. Not to mention she fast! Love her! read more

I have been going to City Nails for quite a while. The staff is efficient and friendly and They do a good job no matter who does it. I have some disability due to a stroke; and the staff is very thoughtful and careful with me. I usually just walk in, since it is more convenient for me, and I never have to wait. I have had all of their services and have never been disappointed. My husband is confident that he can leave me in their care and I will be well taken care of. Soooo, the girls were really nice and the service was good...but, this morning (not even 24 hours after getting my shellac nail polish) a rather large chunk came off in the shower.
