This is the second time I have made an appointment with Ken on their website and both times I have been made to wait past the appointment time. I selected his name per instructions on the website and also placed his name on the notes as per website. I selected times that were shown as available for him and still waited over 10 minutes past the scheduled appointment. Suggestion: get a better appointment maker and don't show a tech available when they're not. Ken's pedicure work is great but the setting an appointment and still being made to wait past the scheduled appointment is a no-no for me. Easily booked services online. I called the following morning to confirm acceptance. Arrived on time and waited 20 minutes to be serviced. We got manicures and opted for the head spa service not fully knowing what it was. We moved into another room. Removed our upper body clothing (and jewelry), placed them in a locker, wrapped ourselves in a towel and then shuffled back into another room. Laid down, head over the water bowl. (It was very menthol-y in there.) The head spa began with a light scalp scratch and alternated with a scalp massage. Whew! I went to another dimension. I was therapeutically paralyzed and quite relaxed. The scalp scratching and massaging went on for a while. Then came a face massage. I went into shock when the cold face mask went on but I relaxed after a few minutes. The facial massage itself was good! Then back to the hair.... she washed my hair so gently. The shampoo smelled amazing! As did the conditioner. Hair washing complete, a neck massage began and extended down my arms to my fingertips. One hour later, she was sitting me up and applying lotion to my back and massaging it in. She ushered me to the changing room and blow-dried my hair. The session was about an hour and included a hair wash, face mask, and a gentle massage on my neck, back, and arms. Super relaxing and completely worth it. We arrived for our appointment, and they took the three of us on time--made a point for us to have chairs together and enjoy our pedicures. Our nail techs were wonderful, too. I had one of the worst experiences EVER. I went to Mimi Nails for a color change on my toes and nails, as I had an event the next morning. I called ahead to schedule an appointment for 7 PM and specifically requested Mary as my technician. The appointment was confirmed with no issues. I arrived on time for my appointment, mentioned that I was there to see Mary, and immediately noticed that both she and the other technicians turned around to look at me, causing even the customers to stare. Conversations started in their native language, and it was clear everyone was talking about me. I felt incredibly uncomfortable as all eyes were on me. One customer loudly shared a story about how she used to only request a specific technician for her appointments but eventually decided it wasn't necessary because, after trying someone else, she realized it didn't make a difference. She said it loudly enough for me to hear, and I felt it was aimed at me for requesting Mary. It became apparent that Mary wasn't happy I had booked her. I had requested Mary for a previous visit but was given someone else. She didn't acknowledge that I had an appointment with her or that she couldn't assist me. Another technician who had done my nails before asked if I wanted to wait for Mary or if I was okay with someone else. By this point, I wanted to leave, but with an early event the next morning, I felt stuck. As I sat there, the staff walked by giving me looks. At one point, a young girl walked by and said something in her native language while looking directly at me. I asked the technician doing my nails what was said, a she looked very uncomfortable and claimed it was just a comment about going home soon. It was obvious to me that comments where made towards me. Despite this, the technician doing my nails was polite and did an excellent job. I made sure to tip her well. I always tip, and I'm always kind and courteous, as I was today, despite the rude and offensive treatment I was receiving. However, I felt so uncomfortable that I recorded parts of the conversation to translate later. When I got home and reviewed it, I discovered that they had been mocking me and making derogatory comments. I was devastated and felt completely disrespected. Mimi and Ben were kind, but the way I was treated by the rest of the staff left me feeling unwelcome and humiliated. Mary seems to only cater to a certain demographic, and I will never go back to this establishment. I do not recommend supporting this business. While this may not apply to all employees, my experience shows that many of them are willing to be rude and disrespectful under the guise of speaking in a foreign language. Even without understanding the language, it was clear that I was intentionally made to feel uncomfortable. I will never patronize this business again. read more

I went to this place because it was recommended. big mistake. for my manicure, the tech instead of soaking the acrylic off decided to try to pop the nails off ripping my natural nail bed. I started to bleed and I said I am not comfortable with moving forward. Her excuse, saying pone I lay down the new set it won't be bad. News flash, anything you lay on exposed skin is going to hurt. Now, I have to clip my nails down to the nub and patiently wait for them to grow back. Also, the pedicure service was so rushed. I wasn't even in the chair 20 mins and paid 67 dollars for that. Made an appointment for my daughter to get her nails done at MiMi. When we arrived (5 minutes prior to our appointment) the place was busy so we knew there would be a wait but didn't mind. After 10 minutes, we were told to "sit 4 seat down" so we went to what we thought was "4 seat down". Waited and waited. And waited. Another customer walked in and we were told to please move to another chair because she had an appointment! Then we waited and waited while they sat and started working on three new customers. Finally, a mail technician starts my daughters nails but stops in the middle to take another customer saying "I go now she have appointment". A new nail tech takes over but has no idea what my daughter wanted because the first nail tech left with no instructions. Nope. In an area with a nail salon on literally every corner we will pass on MiMi for now on. read more

I have been here twice now and will keep coming back. The employees are all super friendly and do such an amazing job. I have now had a pedicure and an acrylic fill, while my daughter had a full set. The basic pedicure is amazing and has services in it that are usually an up charge at other salons. My nails look amazing and so natural for being acrylic. I keep staring at my nails as they finally look so good after trying 3 other places in the area. The only downfall is that reservations are not treated as priority. If you have a reservation and someone walks in before you, you will have to wait. They really were packed both times I went, which was between 5-6 pm. But I promise the wait is worth it for the service. And even if you have to wait, they do not take shortcuts to get you out faster like a lot of places. They take their time and do the job proper. As far as charges, it's a bit different. A basic pedicure is cheap, but an acrylic fill is more than most places. Gel polish and designs are lower than most, but a full set is more than most. Total mixed bag. I will still keep going here and highly recommend. read more

I hate leaving reviews like this especially when it is 2 people who had 2 different experiences. Last Thursday, July 14th, I visited Mimi's with my daughter. We were both getting pedicures. She also needed an acrylic fill and I was getting a full set. We ended up picking the same nail color. Both pedicures were amazing. However, while my same tech did my full set, my daughter got a different nail tech for her fill. This tech made several comments to us and other customer while we were there. She called me a "copycat " for using the same color, but it was all funny banter so I didn't think anything of it. We were seated in different parts of the salon so I didn't see my daughter until the end of our appointment. I paid and we headed out. My daughter was quiet but when we got home I asked to see her nails and she started crying. The picture of the hot pink (same color my daughter requested) tip manicure were my nails ( my tech was incredibly talented and kind). The other pictures are of my daughters nails. They are not the right color ( she told the lady several times it is not the right color and that she didn't like the color she was using) but she told her the other color was being used so she just needed to use this color. This is not true the color was sitting at her desk....My daughter also asked if she could remove the rest of the blue polish ( from her last manicure)..... but the tech looked at her and said " well that's the best I can do". She also made several rude comments about other customers that came into the store that my daughter heard. It is only 3 days later and a few of her nails are already starting to fall off. I would have went back but we are out of town until next weekend. Unfortunately, I didn't get the tech's name. If this were just based on my nails it would be 5 star. But I don't know if I convince my daughter to ever go back. read more

This place is terrible. I had a 2:00 appointment and wasn't helped till almost 3:30 and wasn't out of there till 6:30! After 4 days my gel polish was chipping! The tech didn't know the difference between cuticle and skin so now my fingers are peeling. Find a different place. read more

I can't say enough about her, Mimi, as well as John, who's great. There is, however, a woman that works there that is so disgustingly rude to just about everyone. She thinks she's funny, but she's just an ass. She's loud, yells at folks, barks orders, or plain ignores you when you ask her a question. I have been here a twice before and came in on a Saturday at 10:30am and they were already busy. I waited about 45min or so before i could get a pedi and mani with gel. I recommend calling ahead and getting an appointment. The spa looks clean. They use a plastic cover for the pedi water bins. I see them cleaning after each use. I see them cleaning their tools. Their bathroom is also clean. They are really good at cuticle trimming and painting. No slips or cuts. And no paint on skin. They were also helpful with color advice. Mimi is super nice. Also men are welcome! I saw 3+ men there and they looked very comfortable. I would continue to go as they have great service, are good at their job, are safe and reasonably priced. read more

I have been coming to Mimi's for the last 3 years and I've tried A LOT of other salons in the area - they are the best! The salon is clean and everyone is polite. I've been seeing Tran this past year for acrylic fills - my nails are paper thin and she almost never has left a single drill mark in my beds. I also have 3 small kids and haven't had any issues with breaking or lifting since I've seen her. My daughter just had the worst experience getting her acrylics off. I dropped her off then stepped out to go to the store. When I returned, she had open gouges and deep chips in her nails.--to the point of bleeding. The tech literally used cuticle scissors and an old acrylic nail to remove the rest of her nails. Acetone was never used, but it should have been the very first step. The manager was very apologetic, but it was too little too late; the damage was done. read more
