When i questioned the price difference i was told because i got polka dots it was an extra $20. So I got off work and 6.5hr standing had my feet and legs hurting......now there were a few reviews that had me second guessing if I would go here or not. But I went anyway 1.5hrs before closing time for a mani/pedi service. The Pedicure was with Lisa and hands down amazing. Omg I needed every rub her little hands gave me. I did get the lavender Pedicure to relax....slight up charge but ok. Then the manicure was starting while getting my Pedicure ..weird but not rushing still got the full service, which was a plain manicure no color just clear. And that was $17. Now I pay for service and RIGHT now I am confused as to what did I get for $87. Pedicure was $50 (I got the scrub). So this place charge $20 for gel polish.....when did gel polish start at $20...... Very clean shop, no wait, but I personally don't like when I change my mind about the type of service I want that it's a lot of back and forth in their language. I can change my mind to not want any polish on my hands since I have a very active week ahead of me; I will not waste a service or my money. read more

I came here because my usual salon is closed on Sundays. The salon is beautiful and they do serve complimentary wine/coffee/tea with their services. The list of services online is minimal compared to the actual number of services and choices available and the prices range from $33- $100 for a pedicure. This is going to be a long review. I understand that many of the employees do not speak English as their first language, so I am more patient when asking for things. When Lili came to begin my pedicure she had a caddy containing a dirty cup holding dirty/dusty tools. I asked her for sanitized tools, she did not understand what I was asking for. She asked another woman, who also did not understand. I think the owner came over to help. She also did not understand what I was asking for. She explained that the tools were washed in a sink. I would have left if they could not provide sanitary tools. Eventually, Lili went to the back and came back with a sealed packet with sanitized tools. I chose to stay and had a "Milk and honey" pedicure. Lili did a great job with the massage portion of the pedicure. I am not 100% thrilled with the nail shaping though. I just don't have time to have it fixed. Overall, I don't know if I will come back. Sanitized tools are the bare minimum and cleanliness is required by law in VA. Va code: 18VAC41-20-270. Run don't walk out of here. When I customer tells you not to cut into the sides of their nails LISTEN to the customer. Don't do what you feel and cause the customer pain and bleeding. Woman clearly didn't know what she was doing. She grabbed my legs like reaching for a piece of wood. Her rough handling of me showed she doesn't care about her customer. I do not recommend this nail salon, some people working there can't communicate well they whisper a lot I literally had to ask 3-4 times to repeat herself when she was asking me questions because I could not hear her. Then they have this new gel option that looks nothing like what I got. As you can see this is my natural nail and the tech left it all lumpy not smooth at all. She filed my natural nail too much which made them super thin (charged me $10 extra to remove acrylic)My husband also got a pedicure done the same day and he said the guy kept hitting his feet and legs in a way to communicate with him. And the massage was not good at all. He also spent like 15 min on one foot and 5 on the other. Not going back here again. I wanted pink dip nails, in an almond shape. I came in with previous gel polish nails on, which I usually have removed by soaking in acetone. During my visit, my nails were removed using another false nail to pry it up, causing my pinky finger to bleed quite a bit. She used tools on my pinky to try to clean up the extra nail bits that broke off while she was trying to pry it up, and then she put these tools back. This is concerning to me, as someone who has licensed nail techs in her friend circle, and know the safety issues this creates. I'm leaving two stars because my technician was very nice, and even asked if I was in pain, but I was very shocked to see such a method used. My nails are the color I wanted, but could've been much better. read more

She slapped my hand and will say SWITCH! Every time she needed my other hand. Never smiled or had a kind word to say. I understand if she didn't speak English but you don't need to know someone's language to be pleasant to them. I have never had someone use a mechanical drill to file down my cuticles, yet this is what she used. She took literally 13 minutes doing my hands and she will give me attitude if I try asking her what I needed her to remove so I gave up. While my nails were drying under the LED light she came behind me to give a massage which I had to stop the second she tried I mean the last thing I wanted at that moment was to be touch especially from some one who was so rude to me. She said something in their language in a very mean way to the other techs cause I refused the massage The pedicure Tech was a young male which literately doesn't know what his doing I was left with the same feet I walked in with. Except with a new color. But at least he was nice. I paid $83 plus tax was never presented with prices except a menu with a bunch of options to choose from like if I was at a restaurant I didn't think they deserved a tip so I didn't tip to which she also yelled out something in their language to the other techs as I walked out feeling ripped off for something a 5 year old could do better . read more

Done a week ago, acrylic broke off my middle finger and this is how it was repaired. Today, blue nail broke. Gel paint peeling, natural nails underneath keep getting caught on things. Owner did the repairs and had a whole attitude like it was my fault. Despite reading other reviews, my experience was delightful! My pedicure technician did not talk much but the pedicure overall was great. The massage lasted about 15 minutes. She paid very close attention to everything she was doing down to the gel-polish. They served wine and fruit to all patrons, I opted for water (was not bottled). I'm writing another review of this place after returning to get dip powder removed. I had gotten it done a month prior and it had started coming off my nails but I didn't yet have the money to just get the powder done again. I like the way they do nails but this removal service was pretty rough and when all was said and done I had to clip all my nails down completely myself because they were so thin and in some cases painful from how much they filed them. I wish the tech had soaked my fingers in the acetone more! So really this salon is a hit or miss for me. read more

I was excited to try this place after my mom and grandma had an enjoyable experience. Sadly, I was disappointed. Sure, the place is absolutely gorgeous and you get a "free" drink but the service I received left a lot to be desired. I arrived at 9:45 am and asked for a basic pedicure with white shellac. The basic pedicure is plenty luxurious, the massage portion lasted about 15 minutes which is one of the longest around. When it came to polishing, I was severely disappointed. First, she tried using this streaky old polish that looked horrible. She had to remove it and re-do the shellac base and search for a better white polish. She tried to paint my toes 2 times but had to restart after smudges occurred due to the UV dryer hitting my toes. I was so ready to go because I had a flight to catch at 2 pm that I had to settle for a top coat and dash out the door. The polish job was really raggedy and didn't look good. I'm sad I wasted my money. The manager saw I was upset throughout the pedicure but never did anything to fix the situation. She tried to tell me that the woman who provided my service went slow so she could do a job but it was just bad. I started my service at 9:45 and did not leave until 11:40. I came here after reading their pricing online, but was surprised with all of the little up-charges. $50 for acrylics with dipping powder plus $5 for tips and $5 for coffin shaped nails, $5 for more than 2 coats of powder, etc. The technician was also so aggressive, I thought that my tips were just going to snap of. Today's visit was at least my 6th time for a pedicure and was the worst one I have received. The technician hurt me so much I hollered in pain ( ingrown nail). She was quick to do all the steps of the treatment and did not massage my feet. When I asked, she did a quick light massage. I later repeated she did not massage my feet, she said she did it. The lotion was not removed from the bottom of my feet before she put on my flip-flops making walking rather slippery. It was very difficult to communicate with her. I am not one for posting reviews, but I was pretty annoyed the whole time I was here. It was difficult to relax with the employees shouting back and forth the whole time, especially the one that was working with me. I went in for a gel manicure, and it was not the best. First, the woman working with me could not stay in her chair. Every time the phone rang, she got up to answer it. Every time someone walked in the door, she went to go "welcome" them, or just yell from her chair (right in my face) to them. The work station was a wreck, with tools everywhere and all the stuff left out from the last acrylic nail appointment. While she was filing my nails, and pushing and clipping my cuticles, she did not pay attention. She nicked my skin twice while clipping the cuticles. She was looking around the room, talking to other employees, talking to people coming in the door... I asked her to fix a few of my nails she filed too crooked since she wasn't paying attention and she seemed irritated that I even spoke a word. None of my nail shapes mShe brought the phone to her station after about the 15th time that she got up to answer it, so she could just answer it right in front of me-which she continued to do. The gel manicure was done poorly. She left my hands in the curing light for about 10 seconds each. My nails are still "tacky" underneath, and the gel slides around. The polish looks like it's been on my nails for a week now since she didn't even apply it anywhere close to the cuticle-it looks grown out already. She did my arm and hand massage poorly as well; the entire experience was so rushed. Literally the second she finished my "massage" part of the manicure, she said "FINISHED." And got up and walked to the back. I waited there for a minute I thought she was coming back to like bring a towel or like, I don't know, like say anything else to me??? I went to the front and another employee yelled back to her that I was at the front waiting. She came back up, to take my payment, I shouldn't have tipped, but I did, and she basically snatched the bills out of my hand, turned and walked away. Never said a word other than "$30" when paying. No "thank you". No "have a nice day". Extremely needless to say, but I will not be back, and I suggest you don't go either. read more

This place is a hit or miss. I live nearby, so have been coming here for convenience over the past two years. Gel manicure and gel pedicure is all I'd trust this place with, but for the new year I decided to do SNS on my nails. Can't remember the lady's name, but she did a great job with my gold ombré nails. 1 month later (today) I returned to get a new SNS and basic pedicure (no polish). I see on the price list that they spiked this option from $30 to $33 and the lady also charged me for removing my gel polish from my toes. Never heard of, especially during a pedicure service! I asked Tina if this was something new they were doing and she said yes. Also, as I was getting my pedicure, another young lady came in the shop to get her SNS removed. As the lady was removing the polish, the customer asked if she could get her cuticles cleaned up. It was clear that the lady didn't know what she was talking about based on her confused demeanor. She then called on someone else and this lady told the customer that to get her cuticles cleaned where needed it would be $10. That's ridiculous!. She then tells the customer that she could just get a manicure for $17 instead of paying $10 for just cuticles. The customer decided to get her SNS removed and nothing more. I thought that was bad customer service because they should be focused on understanding the customer's request and not trying to up-sale or offer whatever they wanted because it was convenient. [I have other examples of service exclusions and changes in the middle of my service but this post is already long.] Lastly, Anna did my nails and she was slightly rough and rushing. It wasn't busy so I'm not sure why this was the case. Overall, my nails turned out ok, but I've come to the conclusion that's it's now time to find a new nail shop. I don't like how this place changes prices or up charges you in the middle of a service without explanation and the service doesn't match the price. A free drink and rough massage is not sufficient for the price. read more

I have gotten pedicures for years. Wanted to get a pedicure yesterday so I tried Miya. It is close to my house and has Sunday hours. My regular salon is not open on Sundays. The technician made both of my big toes bleed and positioned my feet in a very uncomfortable angle. Even when I tried to move, she would put my feet in the same position. I don't think anything was discarded or sanitized after touching my bleeding toes. I will never go back. read more

This salon is cleaner than most, doesn't smell strongly, and very kind techs. I got an acrylic set and liked my nails a lot, my sister got a basic manicure and liked the polish job but it chipped really quickly. We had to ask for the complimentary things like drinks and snacks even though they're advertised as part of your treatment. I tried waiting for them to offer but they didn't. I saw some people have to wait sooo long for their nail treatments for seemingly no reason. I saw so many people get shoulder massages but the services menu didn't list which services included the shoulder massage. They reuse some tools, but not to the same degree as most salons.
