I want to love Millenial Nails. I really do. I'm all about supporting black-owned businesses in my nabe. But ladies, be warned. I've gone three times, and each time is worse than the last. I book an appointment every time, and yet somehow each time I show up (early, mind you), it's like I'm catching them by surprise. First off, no one greets you when you walk in. You have to peer through the haze of acrylic nail dust floating in the air (everything inside is coated in grime or grit) and ask around to find someone who works there and who isn't too busy on their phone to see what's up. Then, once you're acknowledged as a human being, no one will know what to do with you. Your appointment hasn't made it into the system or to the nail technician's app, but someone will begrudgingly see you anyway, and trust they will make it seem like they are doing you a favor. Last time I went in I was told I needed to wait because my technician was having a snack, and she walked out of the back room licking her fingers, which she didn't wash until I asked her to. I'm the last one to get down on a b for eating her fried chicken, but she better wash those hands before touching mine! To make it worse, when the owner--the OWNER--cashed me out later, he had a chicken drumstick in one hand and was running my credit card with the other. If you can deal with the horrendous service and atmosphere, the manis and pedis themselves are actually great--I'm not knocking the skills of the ladies who work there. But I won't be back until they up they game. read more

I went there today with an apponintment for 630. When i arrived i was told to go to jessica the nail tech. I asked for a hard gel manicure with gel polish. She filed and buffed my nails to no end, never cleaned them, she just started putting the polish on. In the end i look at my nails and the gel wasnt on the nails all the way. It looked like my nails grew a bit smh. What did i really pay for? Mind you i paid $76 dollars for this. After being there for over an hour i show her the mess up. So there aren't many black owned, or what seems to be Afro-Latino in this case, nail salons with technicians that are also black. I decided to try it even tho I had a poor rescheduling experience and my pedicure was really good. I should say that the paraffin they offer is not for the entire foot, just the heel. I was serviced by (will update later) and she was extremely diligent in giving me a good pedicure. Although I've been going, I haven't lucked up on a good pedicure for months, so she had some work to do (cuticle wise). She wasn't rough, she didn't over clip the flesh around my toes (which happened a month ago and caused the skin to grow back thicker). I was also offered coffee, tea, champagne, or wine (red or rosé). I wanted to take this opportunity to give my toes a break from the gel so I got regular polish. I'm still drying, but I will be back. There was no music or tv, but I still thoroughly enjoyed my service and will be back. read more

Tracey is a master on acrylics and nail design and Symphony is beast on pedis!!! **updated** needed to update my post to give a much more balanced perspective on the quality of the service alongside customer experience. From being unable to book an appointment with my tech because she is not on the schedule and only taking walk-ins, to being given a time to arrive and learning once I did that she would not be in for two hours and after rearranging my day- then being told that I couldn't have her first slot if I left... Not to mention prior appointments where I've waited upwards of 90 minutes post the time of my appointment to be seen...I'm not convinced that the talent is worth a poor experience. Unfortunately, it didn't work out. Really wanted to support a black owned business, but it failed successfully. We scheduled for two people two weeks in advance. The online portal couldn't schedule two people for the same time slot so the manager said he would schedule the second person himself and to schedule myself via the portal. We came to the salon to find that my appointment was there, but my friend's appointment that he scheduled was not. They called the manager to see what happened, and he couldn't recall the conversation meaning he never scheduled the appointment that he said he would while on the phone. He said he would call back after he had better service, but at that point we were kind of over it and moved on to another place nearby. Hopefully, they become more organized because we would love to support, but we also don't want to waste our time. read more

so the apres started lifting while I was on vaca. it was one nail at first and by day 10 it was 5 nails. I was using crazy glue to hold them down. this is a service that suppose to last 3-4 weeks, not 10 days. I called in after I wrote them on it. they gave me an appt. Phyllis was apologetic and started to file them she already started on a nail that then hit me with her boss told her she had to charge me $4 per nail that was lifting. then she said she didn't want to do just those over and the others start lifting so she had to do them all over. she ended up fixing it with gel. I was super annoyed because I should have had to pay for something that wasn't my fault. never in my life have I've been charged for something that was out of my control at a nail salon. I didn't like, once again, I wasn't told straight up that they were gonna charge me when I spoke to someone over the phone. A few co-workers had recommended this spot, and after getting a poorly done acrylic set at a different salon I finally decided to give this place a shot. It was the best decision I've made for my nails in a long time! Elizabeth was super attentive to my cuticles and nail beds; I explained to her the designs I wanted and she checked in with me during the appointment to make sure I was satisfied with the progress. When I edited my design halfway through the appointment, she was SUPER flexible with me and gave me a multitude of options for the rhinestones and design color. As I mentioned in my previous review, I said I would give millennial nails another try and I did. I had went back a few times after posting my initial review, each time different, giving millenial a very inconsistent vibe for me. Anywhoo updating my review to reflect my most recent, and BEST visit I've had with millenial nails thus far.. Appointment Time: To start, I usually make all my appointments at 10am so that I can go on with the rest of my day. Previously, I've had to wait for a nail tech to arrive at Millenial, causing my appointment to really begin 30-45 mins after 10, which is very annoying. As a business, if you offer 10am appointment time slots, you should be ready to take people at 10am, not just opening the door at 10am. This time around when I made the appointment, I had mentally prepared to wait for someone to get there and for me to wait. However, Symphony, was not only already at the salon, she was already prepping and ready to take me right at 10. I was elated! Service & Nail Tech: Symphony was AMAZING! When I walked in, she greeted me and let me know that she'd be my nail tech for the day. (A lot of times before I'll walk in and people just stare until you say your name / appointment when it should really be the other way around...) She did a great job on both my manicure and pedicure, and was super friendly. She was easy to chat with, made sure I was comfortable, and offered drinks. My nails turned out great and I will be sure to see her again. As long as Symphony is at Millenial Nails, I'll be returning. Other Things: I think Millenial Nails needs more front desk help. Every time I've gone to Millenial Nails, I see nail techs pausing current appointments to tend to walk ins, answering the phone, etc. I mean hey, if the system works for them thats fine but from the customer side looking in, it can take away from the experience of someone getting their nails done. read more

So I made an appointment for a acrylic full set with an ombré add on. Because I was short on time I decided to click on the option that said "any staff available" to open up listings for the day I wanted to get my nails done. My nail person was Tatiana and she did a PHENOMENAL job. I showed her the photo and at the end of 2 hours I had the same exact nails. She cleaned up my cuticles and took her time. She absolutely "nailed" the shape and the design I wanted. We spoke the entire time in our native language which made me feel very welcomed. I cannot wait to book her again to get a new set and a refill. I got super lucky to have her as my nail person. This place never fails to give a good Mani/Pedi. Just make sure to get an appointment before hand because they are very popular and with the pandemic going on, taking walk-ins can be hard for them. But I love this place. read more

I never write reviews but this is the best nail salon I have ever been to in my entire life. All of the staff is really amazing and the vibes are always dope. Hilda is an amazingly talented artist. I usually show Hilda pictures of the nail art I want and she does it even better than the picture. I had so many people complimenting my nails - even after having them for over 4 weeks. The shape is perfect, design is fire, the acrylic gel strength is strong, and the good music and free champagne is a plus. So happy to find my new go-to nail spot. Highly recommend! read more

Tried this place again after a bad experience because I had a slammed day. I made an 11:30 appointment but my day changed around. I called at 9:50 asking if I could come in at 10:30 instead. The owner said I could come in whenever and I said thank you! When I got there they said no one could do my nails. They called the owner and he said that he had called me and I had asked for 11am. None of this was true. I walked out. This place is poorly organized and my feet are still recovering from the rash and scratches the last time I was there. I would never get my feet done there again but thought they could handle a quick fill. I don't know how they are still open. read more

Found this spot through Yelp. I actually booked an appointment on their website. When I arrived I was basically taken right away and my acrylic full set, coffin style was done perfect to the T By Yenessica. Love love love how they came out! I also booked a Bedstuy luxury pedi and my toes came out very nice also. The spot is very clean, good vibes and everyone is friendly and they played good music! I spent a little over two hours here today getting a "Luxury" mani/pedi package...and yes, I booked an appointment ahead of time. I arrived to my 1:10 p.m. appointment right on time to be asked by one of the technicians to give her a minute. In the meantime I picked out a color. She got the water, scrub and everything else ready for my pedicure, and I sat in the chair, started soaking my feet and waited. It then came to my attention that the woman who was waiting before me had a 1:00 p.m. appointment, as the technician seemed to be getting both of our stations set up to work on us at the same time. There was another technician already working on another woman's nails, and one more next to me finishing up a pedicure. The technicians all seemed to be confused about why there were so many people, and were trying to figure out amongst themselves who would take who. In this time frame, another woman came in who had a 1:30 p.m. appointment. Again, more trying to figure out who would take who. The tech who originally set me up to do a pedicure asked us all if we wanted wine, that seemed like a good sign of them trying to remedy the situation. Since the technician next to me was finishing up another woman's pedicure, I asked if he could just work on my nails. The client he was waiting for was apparently a no-show, and even though he seemed to be rushing to get out, there was no way I was going to wait and deal with one person working on three pairs of feet when there was other staff there. He agreed to work on my nails, and at this point it was 1:40 and the water felt cold. When I asked him to refill it with hot water the pedicure sink/bowl started leaking for some reason and I overheard another tech saying that it's broken and that clients are supposed to only have their feet on the foot rest of that one, and not the bowl..what? Why is it even being used then? After having to tell him twice that it was not warm enough, he got it to a warmer temperature. At this point, I was already extremely annoyed. He was a nice guy, but I knew he could sense the tension I felt. Having had to wait a half hour before someone even touched my feet made me overly annoyed and hyper-aware of everything. My wine finally came about 15 minutes after I was asked. He was nice, but very clumsy and extremely distracted. The World Cup was on t.v. and he would stop whatever he was doing with my feet to watch instead of paying attention. Several times. Like at least 20 times. At one point he did three coats on one foot, then only two on the other. I asked him to do one more on the foot he missed, and he said he'd already done it. I had been paying attention, he had not. After the pedicure that took an eon, I let him know that I had a mani/pedi package, so he agreed to do my manicure as well. It wasn't until 2:30 that he even asked me my name, which I feel is important just to establish some sort of cordiality with a client before even touching them. But at that point all the techs including him just seemed over it, and it came to light that someone who was supposed to be staffed was not there. I understand that, but the vibe was so terrible because of their stress. They couldn't even say yes to walk-ins. He mentioned that he wanted my experience to be good, and that he could tell from my energy that it wasn't good. I reminded him that this whole ordeal had taken about two hours, and that I WANTED him to feel that energy, because I was annoyed. He apologized, and said he hoped it didn't stop me from returning at another time...to support this black owned business...to which I responded that I would not be returning. The reason I'd come was because I'd heard good things, and wanted to support them, but this was not a good experience, and I don't even live close enough to trek back there for mediocrity. I had expected to come in, relax, and leave in a timely fashion but I was on edge the whole time. Again he wasn't paying close enough attention, because when he had to fix one of my nails, he had to ask ME which one he needed to re-apply top coat to...come on...and instead of asking me what services I'd made an appointment for, he wrote up a ticket based on what services I'd had, and what polish I used, when all of that was included in one package and was at least $20 cheaper than whatever he had written down. I did not have a "Luxury" experience. And it definitely wasn't worth the 2+ hours of my day spent there. I'm not sure if the other techs told a manager/owner, or if the tech I had mentioned it to the manager/owner, but a gentleman called me not too long after I left (He didn't even introduce himself so I have no idea if he was a manager or owner) apologizing for what he'd heard happened and offered me 50% off of a service...I appreciate the gesture, but told him that I would not be returning, and that they needed to get their stuff together. Although this salon was a bit unorganized and tight spaced instead of turning around and canceling my appointment I decided to give them a try. My nailtech did an ok job (if ok is what you desire to pay for)however the nicking of my skin during mani and pedi was truly unpleasant. Also when I booked for a regular mani pedi and decided to upgrade to a gel mani the tech failed to inform me that it would be an additional $30 charge. The cost is not the issue just when I get to the front to pay boom you owe $96 for what??? I paid and told myself to not return. Just overall didn't enjoy my experience here for the cost to me wasn't worth it. Could have simply gone to a salon on Fulton and gotten the same mediocre service for $40 cheaper. read more

I did a lot of research on this business before booking my appointment, and my expectations were high! I booked a powder manicure, and I'm very happy with the service I received from Suzi. She was extremely professional, attentive, and she regularly checked in with me to make sure that I wasn't feeling any pain during buffing and cuticle trimming. She did a beautiful job shaping my nails, and the dip powder application was well done. I really enjoyed and appreciated how kind, supportive, and pleasant the whole environment was. While some reviews state that the smell of chemicals is strong and the layout of the business is a little tight (which was true), none of those aspects bothered me, and I'm looking forward to continue booking with Millenial Nails in the future! read more

I hate leaving bad reviews and really really wanted to like this place. Booked an appointment for polygel and was there for nearly 4 hours. I got cut with the nail file 3 times, glue all over my fingers, and came out with chunky nails that started peeling off after 2 days. Also their pricing is confusing and very different from how it's reflected on their website. Polish is not included in any of their pricing (so that was a separate charge on top of the polygel set) and nail art is $5/nail (no matter how small) on top of that. They didn't lay out the charges for me until I was already almost done with the service. In the end I paid $130 (before tip) for polygel with a french tip which is insane. I specifically booked with Tatiana based on her good reviews, but ended up with someone else and didn't know until we were midway through and she called Tatiana over to talk to her. The nail tech kept pinching my fingers so that the skin got in the way of the file (which is how they got cut) and when I pointed this out she told me that it was because I was keeping my hands "too straight" (I wasn't - I was trying to keep them completely relaxed on purpose) and "kept looking at my nails" (not sure what that means/how it's a problem). I had to ask her to redo 3 tips because they were completely crooked and different shapes, she then told me I should have said something sooner (before they were on my fingers??), and once she had fixed them she then told me I should have waited until she was totally done to say anything (also confusing). Other people have made similar comments, we're probably all talking about the same tech. This place also seems sketchy in how it's run - multiple people tried to make appointments in person while I was there, but were told instead they had to call a separate number (that I think went directly to the owner?) and have the owner book the appointment over the phone. Seemed weird that the techs weren't allowed to set their own appointments, especially when the customer was right there in front of them. This place is probably fine for basic pedis or a single color gel on natural nails, but definitely far better places in the area especially for that amount of money. read more

There were not any paper towels to dry my hands and she had my fetch my own hot towel, which was never even applied. Nail length was not even and I had to say something. The people are super kind - even though you have to book online and walk ins aren't easy - they have always been helpful and accommodating as much as possible when they are busy.
