If I could give this place less than 1 star I would. I was excited to discover Babyface Brows because it is literally a five-minute walk from my home. As a new business in my neighborhood, I was looking forward to supporting them. I called Monday morning and spoke directly with Anna, the owner. I told her I was interested in having my brows done and possibly getting an eyelash lift. She told me that she would personally be doing the services and that she was training for the next two days. She asked me to send photos of my brows for a consultation, which I did. After reviewing my photos, I was told that my brows were currently too saturated to work over and that brow lamination was recommended instead. When I asked about pricing, I was told by text that Brow Lamination & Sculpt was $75 and a Korean Lash Lift was $120. I then received conflicting information about Anna's availability. I was told that she actually wasn't available for these services and that I would need to see another artist. This was confusing because Anna had personally told me that morning that she would be doing the services and was training for the next two days. Then I noticed that the website listed Brow Lamination & Sculpt at $95 rather than the $75 I had been quoted. I asked about the discrepancy and was told that the $75 price was a typo. I understand that mistakes happen, so I simply asked if they would honor the price I had been given. I decided to call the salon rather than continue the conversation by text. Anna answered, and her tone was completely different from our initial conversation. I calmly explained the conflicting information and asked if they would honor the original quote. Her response was: "Maybe we are not a good fit and we understand if you go somewhere else." I found that extremely disappointing. This wasn't about a $20 difference. It was about receiving conflicting information about who would perform the services, what services were actually available, and what I would be charged -- and then being made to feel like I was the problem for asking for clarification. Mistakes happen. What matters is how a business handles them. I was genuinely excited to support a new local business, but this interaction left a very poor first impression. I also noticed that every review currently displayed for the business is five stars. My experience was very different. It's been about a week since my brow sculpt appointment with Anna and I'm still so pleased with my results! I've had unpleasant experiences from brow threading in the past, so I was looking forward to a more in depth consultation here. The studio is clean, small and beautiful in its minimal design and greenery. Anna was friendly, patient and really listened to any concerns I had, as I was quite specific. My brows are pretty full so I wanted clean, symmetrical and arched brows that are slightly thinner to complement my round face and features. She walked me through each step which I appreciate and I picked up some tips. Anna checked in about my brow shape a few times throughout the process too. My skin is quite sensitive, so the soothing mask was refreshing and it calmed any redness from tweezing. Anna is meticulous and gentle in her application, and truly listened to any adjustments I asked for even if it was a subtle difference. The end results beautifully enhance my features. My brows are sharp and defined, yet still natural and soft. We went slightly over my appointment time, but it didn't seem to be an issue. Anna also provided an aftercare kit to help with maintenance. This is a long overdue review but Anna is amazing with her work! She is so kind, patient and genuinely cares for her clients. My very first microblading experience was with her and I'm very happy with my overall experience. Any questions that I had (which were a lot), she answered them thoroughly. My first appointment was in February 2020 and I was supposed to get a touch up but hello pandemic... I didn't get my touch up until July so here's my 6 months later review. First of all, let's talk about Anna! She REALLY CARES about what kind of brows fit your face. She took her time mapping my uneven and asymmetrical brows (I think we took like an hour or more just mapping)! I didn't really know what I wanted so I just gave her my full trust. 10/10 was not disappointed. Secondly, the cleanliness and professionalism were all there! The place had a lot of light, smelled clean, and Anna carefully explained everything to you throughly. Lastly, picture speaks louder than words so of course I will be including my selfie with no shame. Just amazing how confident Anna made me feel after I got my brows done! The process for booking was easy and they give after care instructions too. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for microblading in NYC. I had my first session right before COVID shut downs so I was unable to schedule my follow-up for quite a while. I went with only microblading my first session but then switched to ombre for my touch-up as per Anna's suggestion.
