First of all, it was so happy to see that they had some same day appointment availability! Why that may not always be the case, some booking systems will still only show starting next day. I also loved that their menu had a lot of options, including more than one type of Brazilian to book. When I showed up to my appointment, I checked in and filled out some basic, new client information. I was then taken to my room with my waxer promptly after. They use hard wax here which many people prefer, but for me hurts the most. But I don't really care what is used as long as they're hygienic, quick, effective and will not spawn in-grown hairs. My waxer was quick, thorough and one week out...things are still looking good! As a bonus, first time clients got a significant discount which made me even happier about my experience. While my experience before check out was already excellent, that was just icing on the cake. Overall, I left very impressed and will definitely return again in the future!

My little sister ran to her appointment…read moreand arrived flushed and a little sweaty, and the technician -- I believe her name was B -- proceeded to wax half the area before suddenly stopping and telling her that she was "too sweaty" to continue and that she would need to wait 40 MINS + an additional hour if the next client showed up. For context, my sister has been getting waxed regularly for over eight years. She is athletic, healthy, and this has never happened to her before. She was not dripping in sweat or experiencing anything extreme -- she had simply rushed to make the appointment and was flushed. None of that should even matter in terms of how respectfully a client is treated, but it made the reaction feel even more disproportionate. The technician told her she would need to wait 40 minutes or longer before they could continue, in part because another client was coming in. That is where this started to feel less like a legitimate waxing concern and more like a scheduling issue that my sister was being blamed for. I could completely understand saying, "Let's give you a few minutes to cool down so the wax adheres better." But stopping halfway through a service and telling someone to wait 40+ minutes is a very different situation. I have also been getting waxed for around 10 years, including throughout hot and humid New York summers, and I have never experienced or even heard of someone being treated this way simply for being a little sweaty. Beyond the explanation making very little sense, telling a client she is "too sweaty" in that manner is incredibly rude and inappropriate. There are professional, discreet ways to address moisture without making someone feel embarrassed or ashamed of their body. The fact that half the service had already been completed before this suddenly became an issue also made me seriously question the technician's judgment and experience. If it was genuinely unsafe to wax her, why was the service started in the first place? This is also a waxing salon with fans and powder available to help keep the skin dry. What made the situation even worse was what happened afterward. My sister called me on FaceTime while she was there and was literally in tears trying to advocate for herself and explain that the situation had made her uncomfortable. When my other younger sister later called the salon for more information, the woman at the front desk described my sister as "aggressive" and said she had made the staff uncomfortable. Well let me tell you, I'm the oldest sister and our youngest sister doesn't have an aggressive bone in her body. It made me so sad to see her shakily defending herself. She was upset, embarrassed, and trying to stand up for herself while crying -- not behaving aggressively. All the receptionist had to do was apologize! Getting defensive with emotional clients is never the answer. If you are the owner please review the call as they are all recorded. My sister also told me that after the waxing specialist left the room, she overheard waxers giggling nearby. I cannot say whether they were laughing about her, and I won't pretend to know that. But in that moment, after she had already been made to feel embarrassed and vulnerable, hearing staff giggling only made her feel even more humiliated. Timing, discretion, and basic emotional awareness matter enormously in intimate services like waxing. At the end of the day, this felt like an inexperienced waxer and a scheduling problem being turned into my sister's fault, while her feelings were completely dismissed. A client should never leave a waxing appointment feeling ashamed of a normal bodily response, humiliated, and then be labeled "aggressive" simply for saying she felt uncomfortable. Stopping a service halfway through, giving a questionable explanation, making the client feel embarrassed, and then dismissing her reaction afterward is unacceptable. I would not recommend this location based on how this was handled. SHAME ON YOU ALL YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE. MEANGIRL ACTIVITIES AT THIS LOCATION!!!! also not this is not the first time ive heard of other issues at this location. DO NOT LET THE FOUR STARS FOOL YOU. TERRIBLE STAFF HERE.

Tina and The Wild King Beauty are my new religion (lol). But really, she is truly an artist in brow waxing/plucking & designing and an excellent Brazilian bikini waxer (the least painful I've ever had and least in-growns afterward). I have been to too many waxing places all over NYC (Bliss, European Wax Center, Benefit, little holes in the wall, etc. (the list goes on)) for the past 15 years, but her individualized care, her emphasis on hygienic work practices & client safety, her artistry, perfectionism, & expertise in her field of work, and her kind, warm, non-judgmental demeanor is unparalleled. When I told the technician that I was dissatisfied with her work, she THEN proceeded to state that she could not do the style that I asked for, because my lashes were "not in good health." This was confusing, as I have only had lash extensions done only twice before, and no one had ever mentioned any issues with my lash health. If my lashes were truly weren't in good condition to get the style I wanted, I should have been informed BEFORE spending 3 hours there, not after the fact. The technician could have even told me during the process. It is concerning that she did not mention this to me until AFTER I expressed that I was dissatisfied with the style. She spoke to her manager and I was given 2 unsatisfactory options: pay $115 for the price of a classic set or have my lashes removed by them. They informed me that I would not be receiving my $50 deposit back. I reached out to the manager again afterwards, who offered a single appointment slot within a one-hour window, which I unfortunately would not be able to make due to transportation. She declined my request for a partial refund off of the $115 that I spent. The pictures speak for THEMSELVES. I have included the inspiration photo that I showed, and the style that I received. I recommend thinking twice before booking.
