If you're in search of henna, stop in here. Oh you're only after a tint? Amina has your shade. Like Amina, the space is small but it's always super clean. During covid she was ever so careful. Customers were only allowed in one at a time and you'd never leave her space without a few squirts of sani. She was meticulous with keeping the shop and tools very sanitized. I have been looking for a new threading place in Brooklyn and found this one on Yelp. I went on a weekday night about 630pm as a walk in & she was doing someone's lashes but said I could wait. I was just happy she could take me that night. Once she finished her client she asked me if I wanted my eyebrows cleaned up or shaped which I appreciated. She also let me look at myself in the mirror a few times while she was doing it to see if I liked it or wanted anything different. Customer Service: - Friendly: The owner, Amina, is incredibly friendly, communicative, and straightforward. We also had fun chit-chatting throughout my visit. - Socially-distanced: Only one customer is allowed in the salon at a time! - Sanitary: Amina wore a face shield during the entire visit, made sure we both used hand sanitizer frequently, and wiped down all surfaces before and after my visit. I've been to this threading salon a few times now to get my eyebrows tinted; in the future l hope to do threading and lashes! I'm so grateful that this salon exists and going there for a brow tint is convenient. Amina is awesome and friendly; the atmosphere is relaxed, and the salon is clean. I plan to return often. Go somewhere else!! Been going to Amina for months, the past two times my full set eyelashes haven't even lasted a week before falling out. She has switched to cheaper glue that also makes my eyes itch. She has hypoallergenic glue, but wouldn't use on me. Last time I entered, she was telling the woman (white) leaving about a punchcard rewards program. I asked her about it and she said it was just a business card. I turned it over, pointed out the rewards program, and asked her why she's never offered me the same program after months of coming (no answer, go figure). I left. Poor service, faulty glue and apparent discrimination-- not worth it. Got my lashes done at Bling Bling Nails up the street. read more

There are people who get their hair done and don't like it initially but an hr later brag to their friends how good it looks. That's me with my eyebrows. I wish I would've grabbed the techs name but this was the least painful threading I've experienced. I think she uses elastic thread don't quote me cause I'm not sure. But once she finished one eyebrow she had me look at it and I was like uhh no you took to much off the bottom. I'm sitting there having a mental meltdown because I think I look horrible. Anyway I tell her I want a defined arch she went back fixed it. Then did my other brow and I hated it when I left. Then bam 1 selfie later I was in love lol. She made small conversation with me. Didn't try to take her tip from my change like I've experienced with other places. It doesn't pay to come here with card unless you're getting 2 or more services done. The woman, (not sure of her name) ripped off a layer of my skin on the right side of my face just in time for my upcoming Caribbean cruise. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE FOR WAXING. Don't blink or you might miss this tiny beauty salon tucked up next to Key Foods. I was drawn in by the sandwich board outside advertising brow threading for $6. Yay for a new, inexpensive threading place just a couple blocks from my apt! I went in immediately and the owner did a fantastic job!! She also gave me a little card where you can get a free eyebrow threading with the purchase of five. If you're like me and have skin too sensitive to wax and/or tweeze away at it (or, too lazy, like me), threading is great. I personally find that it keeps your brows looking sharp for longer and is much less painful. They also have extremely reasonable prices for brow tinting ($15) and lash tinting ($15), both of which I've had done at places like Benefit, but for much higher prices. Besides threading and tinting, they also have a range of facials for a range of prices ("gold" for $55)--and they offer free brows with a facial! So great! They also have waxing, fake lashes, and henna services. I also appreciated how nice the owner was (I think her name is Mailana--sp?, but I've forgotten) and how CLEAN the tiny shop is. My first time coming here was today and I was WOWed! I had to grow my eyebrows out for almost two months because the last woman who did them made them too thin. Smh I was wolfing it for a bit. This review is longgg overdue, however my mind has changed since I first started coming here. I've been going to this salon since last spring, and have always seen Nidhi. She was attentive, very calming, and always had my eyebrows looking amazing. A few months back, sometime around November, she recommended that I grow my eyebrows in a little more so I could get the look I wanted. Fast forward to the holidays, I'm looking for Nidhi, and she's no where to be found! I called the shop multiple times, even just dropping by to see if she was working. However, I was ALWAYS told that she wasn't in that day. I was wolfing at this point, but determined for only Nidhi to do my brows. Eventually, I gave in, and had someone else do my brows, specifically saying that I don't want my eyebrows thin, I just needed a clean-up. I absolutely hated the whole experience. This woman (has long black hair, wears glasses) was VERY rough. To make matters worse, she was training someone, and for some reason told this woman to hold my head back so she could get in a better position? Idk.. I was very confused, and didn't understand why I had an extra set of hands on my face. When I told them that I was uncomfortable, I didn't want the other woman touching me (not said in a rude way, but it was completely unnecessary), the one doing my eyebrows proceeded to have an attitude! Wtf? She was holding my head down so hard I was getting a headache! Why should I have to even explain to you why I'm uncomfortable? Why couldn't she ask me if I mind having this woman touching me? The whole thing was just annoying, and made me miss Nidhi even more. To make matters worse, my eyebrows were super fucking thin, and uneven. Seriously, what was the point. This little place is super affordable and takes walk-ins, which is great. Also open on Sundays. I had my eyebrows done, which included threading and trimming. I have very thin and fine eyebrows and the woman who did them was careful not to take too much off and to leave the shape relatively untouched. She trimmed them and cut some pieces a bit too short, but that's always a risk with really soft/fine hairs. Overall, my brows look great, I'll definitely be coming back! read more
