I came in for lunch, was sat right away. Waiter came quickly too. I asked him for his recommendation as they had lunch specials. He recommended the iron chef or the illustrated combo. I went for the iron chef and it did not disappoint. It was a perfect serving for me. I forgot to ask for no mayo. However, the sushi was still delish. I don't like mayonnaise. It was not overwhelming at all. I also ordered a miso soup to start and was pleasantly surprised to see a lot of tofu. All was great from stat to end! Thank you. The place is huge, plenty of indoor and outdoor booths/table seating. Also has a sushi bar. I asked for table.

This is the most over-priced sushi place given how average the quality is. Completely bland and the texture wasn't anything to rave about. Service was fine. Ambiance was ok in the bar but average in the main dining room. Nothing special for the price and taste, I was shocked by the mismatch between price and quality. In summary, sushi is ok but no wow factor at all.

Stopped for lunch on our way back from the city today. I ordered the sea of greens salad on the lunch menu and it was so good! The seared salmon was fresh and the rest of the dish was piled high with veggies and had ponzu and garlic chili crisp on top as well. My mom ordered the Sake poke don and said she really enjoyed it too. Service was great, just like always.

Went today for BB's 16th, and it was another great experience. We were seated at the sushi bar, which is always my favorite place to sit. We were especially happy to be served by Chef Tyler, the lead chef, who has many years of sushi experience. It's always a treat to watch him work -- the care, precision, and consistency really stand out. We ordered the Judy Two Roll, the DMC Roll, and the Kaizen ribs. Both rolls were made to perfection, and the torch presentation on the DMC roll was fun to watch. Everything tasted fresh and well balanced. The Kaizen ribs were flavorful and a great addition to the table. BB also got to spin the birthday prize wheel and won a cute Mikuni glass, which was a nice touch and made the celebration feel special. Food is always great here, service is consistently amazing, and there's hardly ever a long wait. Prices are very reasonable for what you get. Parking at The Veranda can be a bit tricky, so take your time. Always a solid choice, and we'll definitely be back.

Huge restaurant in a shopping center ehere we had lunch here. Tried the udon soup, bento box with tempura and teriyaki chicken and shared a spicy tuna roll. The spicy tuna roll wasn't spicy and lacked flavor. The bento box teriyaki chicken wasn't freshly grilled and was about half dried out and tough. The udon barely had any chicken but the broth and noodles were delicious. Excellent service they were friendly. Overall an average restaurant experience while out shopping

Visited here with friends - we were able to get seated pretty quickly. The interior decoration is fantastic! The food was also very good. We got to share multiple dishes, but the hamachi and dessert particularly stand out for how great they tasted. We will definitely be back.

Today's visit was honestly amazing. I really wish we got the name of the chef at the sushi bar, but both of them made our rolls perfectly. It was very busy (Christmas shopping), so parking was rough and the restaurant was busy, but they still managed to make our rolls with no mistakes (we have modifications). Tony's leftover roll is my absolute favorite and no longer on the menu, but they still make it for me and I am so appreciative.

Located in the veranda shopping center. Come during a weekend and it is hard to find parking. I went on a weeknight and plenty of open spots. I used to come to Mikuni's for lunch all the time. The dinner menu changed a while back and I miss the bento box dinner option which is no longer available. I met a friend for dinner and we both wanted the bento box although she ordered a few small plates that made it her own bento. I opted for the beef curry dinner. The warm curry on a cold winter night hit the spot. Mikuni is always a good choice in the veranda if you decide to ice skate for a bit or do some shopping and then head over to lunch or dinner. They did have a dinner special for two people which might be a good choice on our next visit.

Went in on a rainy Sunday after church. Was given a 20 min wait estimate so we just roamed the area until they texted us that our table was ready. The actual wait time was only about 10 minutes. We sat in the covered and heated outdoor patio and the ambiance was clean, inviting and spacious. Our server Flo was prompt and pleasant. Food was very good! Def a great experience and I hope to go back more often.

I'll start by saying, we will be back. Started off rocky but was quickly turned around once mentioned-- we sat there for maybe 10 mins without as much as eye contact, let alone water, menus, or any kind of acknowledgment once seated. I went up to the front to mention and things got much better from there. We had drinks, Ebi Puffs (bomb!), garlicky edamame (hella bomb), BMW and 49er rolls. We also had some desert which was good, although the green tea tiramisu was a little heavy handed on the green tea. Couldn't get enough of the garlicky edamame and location is great!

If you're a sushi lover (or even sushi-curious), Mikuni in Concord is a must. It's in the heart of the veranda so the place the vibe is lively. The service is on point, and the food never disappoints. But let's get straight to the star of the show: the Pimp My Roll. I don't say this lightly the Pimp My Roll is hands down one of the best specialty rolls I've ever had. It's packed with flavor, perfectly balanced, and totally crave-worthy. You get that satisfying crunch, a little heat, and a creamy finish that makes each bite better than the last. It's rich without being overwhelming, and honestly, it's worth the trip on its own. The rest of the menu holds its own too super fresh fish, creative rolls. Whether you're dining in or grabbing takeout, Mikuni delivers every time. Just don't leave without ordering the Pimp My Roll. Trust me.

It was my first time trying Mikuni. It definitely will not be my last!! The menu selection here is ginormous. So are their rolls. One sushi roll was enough for me to get full. I don't remember exactly what I ordered, but it had raw scallops and spicy mayo on it. It was delicious. The cocktails are also good! I ordered a lychee drop. They have the cutest kids menu. My toddler had the tofu nuggets with rice and edamame. The tofu shaped nuggets had carrots and peas in them. It was a pleasant surprise. The ambiance is nice as it's located inside the Veranda. The restaurant is spacious, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Service was great. Even though we came a busy Sunday, our food came out in a decent time. The staff here is on top of their game. I believe you can come here several times and try something new each time. After my experience, I'm convinced that everything on the menu is good.

We had just finished watching a movie and decided to walk over to Mikuni to eat a late lunch.Their lunch prices stopped at 4pm. Mikuni has indoor seating and outdoor seating and we sat outside in their patio since the weather was perfect. Their patio area was very nice and we liked how the tables were spaced so you felt you could maintain your privacy as you ate your meal. We choose the calamari as an appetizer. It had a nice flavor and was not overly breaded. The calamari tentacles were surprisingly small, but it was a great appetizer to start the meal with, however for the price, they don't give you a lot of calamari. . There are a lot of different foods items to choose from on the menu and the Bento box stood out to one individual because of the assortment of food items. She choose the chicken and California roll. The interesting thing was Miso soup was not offered as part of the meal, but the salad was one of the items included in the box. The Bento box was a great way to try different dishes and the amount of food was ample. The person who ordered this meal enjoyed the flavor of the chicken and everything in her Bento box. My experience at other sushi places was miso soup was a nice addition to the meal, but missing at this restaurant . Two of the individuals choose the Unagi Donburi bowl. We were given plenty of unagi, which tasted good, not great. It needed to be grilled a bit longer. The lunch price for this was $29 and if you wait for dinner, it was much more. We wouldn't order it again, but if we did, we would ask for the unagi to be grilled a bit longer to give the edges a bit of a crunch. That is part of the enjoyment of eating unagi. We were told their rolls were great , but we will stick to our other sushi place in Pleasant Hill. Our regular sushi place has reasonable prices and consistently good food. The one great aspect of the meal was the service. On this beautiful Saturday afternoon,7/26/25, our server was Mauricio. When our daughter told him that one person in the group was allergic to sesame oil, he made sure there was no sesame oil or seeds on the Unagi Bowl and added a wooden marker in the rice with the words ALLERGY . If you see the picture, one Unagi Bowl had sesame seeds and the other didn't. He also had a wooden marker on the calamari appetizer with the words ALLERGY so no sesame seeds or sesame oil would be added to that dish. We really appreciated Mauricio's diligence and attention to making sure the food served would not cause problems. Great server and kudos to him! Mauricio's service as a waiter was 5 stars, however the food , I rated a 3.5 so gave the restaurant 4 stars.

The one aspect that was just okay, but still not bad, was the food (3.5/5). We came at opening on Saturday just in case there was a brunch rush, but thankfully at 8am it didn't seem too busy yet. We were promptly greeted with a smile and seated at a table with fresh flowers and morning sun. The menu options are extensive, especially drinks, but we settled on some specials - a steak omurice and what we'd come for, fried chicken (but on a benedict instead of a waffle). Our items came out ~10 minutes later looking pretty garnished with flowers. The omurice was advertised as "medium spicy" and wasn't too bad. We had the spicy red wine sauce on the side and enjoyed cutting the omelette to drape over the rice. While there was spice, the dish also felt a little lacking for some reason - although the cook on the meat was good and it was tender. The fried chicken benedict was served with two crispy purple potatoes, mayo, and a lightly dressed arugula salad that was a good size. I found the benny eggs to be a bit unevenly cooked so they didn't ooze golden when cut, but it still tasted rich and yummy with the crunchy-crispy fried chicken. The pickled red onions really added good pop to this dish. Both dishes were fine but not memorable in taste. Prices are on the higher end but I could see good quality ingredients going into these dishes so perhaps it's justified. Very friendly staff though and fun menu options (often Thai fusion)! A solid addition to the local brunch scene - and they also serve dinner :) We didn't get the instagrammable drinks with ombre color and marshmallow bears but that also seems to be a highlight of The Royale!

Everything we ordered was well-prepared and delicious, but the standout dishes were the beet salad and the shrimp & grits. The beet salad had a perfect mix of textures; chopped pistachios, tender beets, and crunchy radishes over a pillowy ricotta. I finished the salad wishing there was more. The shrimp & grits featured a potlikker sauce that absolutely lived up to the hype; it made the dish. I wish the shrimp & grits were served in a bowl rather than a shallow dish. I found myself chasing the sauce and polenta around the plate, trying not to push it over the edge. Shoutout to our server, Melanie--friendly, attentive, and totally on it, even with the place packed. A couple things to note: it does get loud, so maybe not your spot if you're after a quiet, intimate dinner. Also, the happy hour menu listed Brussels sprouts but didn't mention bacon--I'm vegetarian, so that was a bit of a surprise. (It is noted on the regular dinner menu, which I admittedly didn't check.) When we left around 9:30pm there was a small line. The cocktails here are pricier but I would come back for special occasions or when we have visitors. I hope they keep this drink on the menu and I'm excited to see what new craft cocktails they come up with. Overall a fun experience to add to your night out in Downtown Livermore!
