Mighty Movers were very professional from estimate to final payment after service. We were scheduled quickly, got our first choice in date/time, and our crew was awesome. Moving is probably my least favorite thing to do and Derrick, Carlos, Noelle, and Nick made the experience of moving to our new home amazing. It was FREEZING and they didn't bat an eye. All of our furniture was handled with great care and they hustled the entire time, and even stayed under our estimated time. My husband moved about 7 years ago with one of those lower cost companies and let me tell you, our experience with Mighty Movers was worth every penny. Our family has moved quite a few times, so we are no strangers to the process. We tried to give an up and coming business a chance as well as the promise of referrals and it turned out to be a bad decision this time around. Starting with, the negotiated price. After offering up a FLAT RATE for services to be competitive, the CEO Cliff reneged on what was promised (on moving day) as well as under- estimated the amount that needed to be moved and the size of the truck needed for the move. He attempted to increase the "FLAT RATE" price by $300 with an explanation that the "FLAT RATE" was really an estimate. His idea of a resolution was for us to leave some items in the home for us to move ourselves ... large items. Then there were the movers. It started out good, they showed up on time, but turned out they were very unorganized and unprofessional. The truck wasn't packed in an organized manner despite additional labeling to make the process easier, some stepped on fragile furniture, and some items were basically thrown into the truck (i.e. a large lawnmower was turned upside down in the truck and the gas leaked on some of the boxes) in an attempt to shove as much in as possible. When unpacking the truck, items were not placed where we requested, furniture that was dismantled was not put back together, and quite a few items were damaged. All in all the experience was a 1 out of 5 and we will NOT use this moving service again. read more

Terrible! What was quoted and should've taken 4-6 hours (as quoted) to move us, took over 10 hours! They did not send 4 professional movers, as promised- instead, they sent 3 small guys and a woman (who only carried little items). Of the 3 guys, only ONE of them was strong enough to carry some of the items alone, while the other 2 actually had to remove all the drawers in order to move average size dressers- including a small nightstand! Had I known they were not like all the other movers we've had who could move an item easily with 2 guys, I would've removed the drawers and personal contents myself before they arrived! Who can't move a NIGHTSTAND?! Interesting how one of them had a bottle of pain meds (Vicodin) missing from it when we put them all back in at the new house!! Where did all the time go?! Oh, they were really good about padding on as much time as possible by spending MOST of it wrapping everything with layers and layers and layers of useless plastic wrap and tape (that we were also gouged for) rather than just moving the items and using blankets like all previous movers had done for us. Then, they accidentally (NOT!) took the wrong turn 3 times! They even tried to bill us for THAT extra hours worth of wasted time. The only time they decided to hurry anything was when they wanted to go home- which made them hazardous and careless with our stuff. They just about crashed our piano by insisting they could take it down the ramp directly onto the 10 foot drop to the back patio- I stopped them just before it careened down the ramp and made them move their truck to take it in the front door as they should have. As it was, we had to catch our new BBQ as it fell off their ramp right before that! What was quoted as "4-6 hours, a truck and 4 professional movers", even with extra fees it should NEVER have exceeded $1200- we paid OVER $2100 and ended up with damaged items and stolen pills! I'm only taking the time to write this review because I not only was unhappy with them, but I am angry because we got ripped off and I don't want to see anyone else experience this on a day when stress is already high. read more

I used Mighty Movers services to move and for junk removal. They were recommended by my co-worker. They lived up to his strong recommendation. My move was stress free. From the beginning, their online form for generating a quote was easy to follow. I was moving to a smaller house so I needed two drop-offs. One move was to my new house and the other move was to storage. The entire move took 10 hours with 4 movers, nonstop. The movers was on time and was careful with my furniture. They disassemble my furniture at my old house and re-assemble my furniture at my new house when needed. When preparing for the move to storage. The movers assess my remaining furniture and suggested the size storage that I needed. They was on point with their suggestion. At the drop-off to storage, they packed my storage bin very well. I was so impressed with their moving services that I hired them a week later for my bulk trash removal from my old house. I witnessed a horrible experience with this company. They were contracted to do a job out of there scope but they agreed. Price inc delivery and installation. When product arrived they decided they could not keep product until delivery, so they did a early drop off and wanted to be paid for the delivery fine. Most companies would deduct from agreed contracted price(I would think). My mistake I guess. Next, there is specialized equipment needed to assist with job I would think THEY would pay for said equipment( guess what wrong again thats my bill)..Next .....on the day of scheduled job I am expected to pay original contracted $$$$ (with delivery inc.again) and specialized equipment $$$....unless you have money to literally give away....use another moving company...this was my experience good luck if you use them and please share if yours is better...my finally bill almost double dealing with this place Never Ever Again...however i will note the job was completed successfully, although I gave the workers water and they decided to leave the trash in my yard...Again Never Again ...the details matter... read more

I just wanted to post a review about the great customer service given by management. After reading my review the manager took the time to reach out to my family about our moving experience. The manager apologized for our discontent with service, and reviewed our account. After reviewing our moving ticket, the manager noted that we had only gone a few minutes over, and said that due to the short length of time that we should have not been charged for a full half an hour. He immediately refunded us for the extra thirty minutes. I appreciate the great customer service given here, because it is not very often that businesses take the time to review how their customers feel about their product/service. Mighty Movers have moved me several times and have provided excellent professional customer service. Cliff was very patient, detailed and understanding my specific move. The movers were quick and efficient in moving me from 3 different locations - VA, MD and MD; they found found space and time when needed. They setup my bed even though we couldn't find the screws, they were able to set it up so that I could sleep that night. TL;DR these guys will show up late; take too long to move your stuff; break some of your furniture; and overcharge you. Full story/review: Hired Mighty Movers to help me move from my 1 bedroom apartment to a larger place one mile away. I requested a quote online, and listed everything they were going to move. Received a response the following day saying they'll charge me a flat fee of $120 per hour for two guys. There was also a onetime fee equal to one hour worth of work, so another $120 for the truck and whatnot. They estimated that the move will take 2 to 4 hours. I needed help moving the following: 1 couch, 1 sofa bed, 1 queen bed frame, 1 queen bed, 1 dinning table with 6 chairs, 1 computer desk, 1 TV console. 1 rug, 1 coffee table, 1 computer chair, 1 TV, 2 large boxes, 1 computer case. Now as you can see above, I'm not moving a whole lot of furniture. I mean, its a one bedroom apartment after all. At any rate, I agreed to their estimate mainly because in the past it took about two hours to move the same furniture (I moved four times the past five years). I figured this time won't be any different. I explain to them over the phone that I reserved the elevators at both buildings from 1:00PM to 5:00PM, so the whole thing needed to be done before 5:00PM. They said no problem, and the crew was scheduled to show up between 12:00 and 2:00PM (this was confirmed in the email they sent me as well). One the day I was scheduled to move, they called me a little before 11:00AM saying they're at the building. I explained again that the elevator is reserved from 1:00 to 5:00PM, so they need to return at a later time. They said ok, no problem. A little after 2:00PM, I called them back asking why they weren't here, and they said they were running a little late, and were going to be at the building between 2:30 and 3:00PM. I told the guy that they're cutting it pretty close, but he said that I don't have a lot of furniture, so we won't be late. Around 2:40PM I got a call from them saying hey, since you need everything done before 5:00PM, why not hire a third guy for an extra $30 per hour. It'll speed things up, and your bill will be about the same since things will get done faster. At this point, I was very frustrated with them, and just wanted to get the whole thing over with , so I agreed. 3:10PM, I tried to call them to cancel because it was just too late at this point, but couldn't get a hold of them. Finally, at 3:20PM they showed up and were ready to start. I let them because the management of the building I was moving to was kind enough and gave me permission to go over the 5:00PM deadline. They start loading stuff, and because they were in a hurry, they tried to load some of the furniture without covering it with anything. Apparently, it doesn't matter if they destroy the furniture as long as they get done faster. I complained, so they started wrapping everything. We left the first building at 4:50PM, and finished unloading everything at 6:08PM. In the process, they managed to destroy a $1200 BoConcept coffee table. I don't know if they dropped it or what, I was in the other room. They apologized and said they were going to call the company to see what can be done about the problem. They chat with their boss, then they hand me the phone. Here, I was expecting the guy to say that they were sorry for showing up late or for destroying my coffee table, but no, instead, he says OK sir, the guys are done, and your total is $500, you paid $100 security deposit so we'll charge $400. Then at the end says, I understand that some furniture was damaged, I said yes the coffee table, so he replied saying he'll have them take it with them to weigh it at their office and submit a claim with their insurance to pay me $0.60 per pound. Basically, give me $10 for my $1200 coffee table. To be fair, their insurance rate is mentioned in their confirmation email "Valuation of $.60 per pound per complete article", so in a way they tell you upfront that if they break anything valuable, they'll do their best to submit a claim and get you a few dollars for whatever they broke. An hour later, I get a payment receipt from them for $535.60! I was like what the hell, they were supposed to charge me $400. I call them again, and the same guy (the manager) says we forgot to charge you the $30 for the extra guy. Not wanting to waste another minute on them, I tell the guy what a terrible experience I had with them, and hang up, then send them an email requesting a breakdown for the charges. If they only forgot to charge me for the third guy which is $30 per hour for 3 hours, then my bill should increase by $90 not $145.60. I waited a couple of days before writing this review. I didn't want to write it right away, and wanted to give them a chance to reply to my inquiry about the charges, but they haven't replied, and I don't think they will. read more

Believe it or not, we have used Mighty Movers THREE times in this past year to move around the area due to unexpected circumstances where we have been renting. Each time they have done an amazing job. We just used them last week and Cliff and his team came through once again. I have A LOT of crystal, china, wine glasses, etc that are gifts from our recent wedding. None of it broke in the move..and our furniture was completely taken care of without scratches, etc. They wrap everything, they put pads around everything and they go the extra mile. These guys also work VERY hard. They are fast and they keep working until the job is done. They had to carry our stuff up three flights of stairs (no elevators) in Old Town, Alexandria in older buildings..and they did it like champs. I can't say enough good things about them. They are my go to team now and considering for some reason I move AT LEAST once a year...trust me. I know movers in the area and I know that you will find these guys to be the best you could pick. They are also very reasonably priced and can provide you with boxes as needed...and they show up promptly with the moving truck. If there is something that goes wrong, etc they work quickly to rectify it as well (this is from our second move)..the guys left some small stuff at our previous house and we went back to get it. I filled out a quote request on their website and received an email within 24 hours detailing the cost and exactly what I would get. They were on time, didn't damage anything, and did a very good job moving. The only problem, and it exists with nearly all moving companies, is they try to find ways to get additional money out of you. To their credit they didn't come up with some kind of hidden fuel surcharge but since the stairway had a landing between the floors which counts as two flights an extra $300 was tacked onto the fee at the end. Although I agree I didn't use the official definition of flight when I counted and I don't doubt that it takes more time to make that turn $300 seemed a bit out of line considering they charge about $150 an hour for a group of movers and that landing certainly didn't add two hours to the time it took to move. Just be very careful when you get an estimate. I still plan on using them again. read more

We used Mighty Movers to do a local move in Reston, and they did an outstanding job. They were extremely professional and stuck to their timeline very well. We lived on the 4th floor of an apartment complex with no elevator, and they had our entire apartment empty and unloaded into our townhome in about 3 hours (which is what they quoted). We had no broken or damaged furniture, dishes, or anything else, and they put everything back together and even helped us organize and move things around our living room a few times. The even called in more guys to move everything in more quickly. I highly recommend them to anyone in the Northern VA area. I have moved quite a few times in my life, and they are worth every penny.
