I was convinced I was going to have to drop several grand to replace my 10-year-old Room & Board sofa. He came in, diagnosed the issue immediately, and did a professional foam reinforcement and spring repair that has the couch sitting like it's *brand new* again. Beyond the work, he was a pleasure to deal with. He even took the time to look at a neighbor's custom furniture repair while he was here and gave them solid, friendly advice on how to save their money. No high-pressure sales from this dude. He also specializes in 'sofa surgery' -- disassembling furniture to fit through those notoriously tight DMV hallways and elevators, then rebuilding it perfectly on the other side. It's a specialized skill that is a total game-changer for anyone living in DC. Note: There are a couple of negative reviews on here which you can disregard. My experience was def the exact opposite. They moved everything from my studio to my new place in under three hours. It was a local move with only about 10 to 15 minutes of driving, but they were still extremely fast and efficient. Nothing was broken, although I did transport the more fragile items myself to be extra careful. The only issue was that they left several long, noticeable scuff marks on the wall in my narrow hallway. That was unfortunate, but it felt fairly minor in the grand scheme of the move. Overall, the movers were professional, efficient, and easy to communicate with. I would still recommend them, but I would suggest keeping an eye on the walls in tighter spaces.

I had started the job myself but got an anchor screw stuck and figured I should have a pro step in so I didn't wreck my new walls. All the supplies were here, placed where they needed to be, holes were measured and marked for custom made rods and drapes. He charges by the hour and moves very, very slow. He didn't have his own step ladder or anchor screws. In the first hour, he managed to put in 3 screws in holes that had already been marked. He claimed he "needed to remeasure" and that's why it took so long, but he used the holes that I had already marked. He also said it was too hard to do with custom cut rods. He also said it wasn't his fault because I had an anchor screw stuck in the wall already, which was the whole reason I hired him. This is what pros do: they come prepared, know the required materials and techniques, and advise the customer on the best way to proceed. I knew we needed to cut it off when he asked me how to use an anchor screw. He didn't know if you needed to pre-drill or not for a very basic and common anchor. I cannot imagine a professional handyman not knowing that. He used a level to stare at the pre-marked holes for what seemed like an eternity, just eating up time. 3 screws = $200. Seems like a nice enough man, but handyman may not be the profession for him, and that's giving him the benefit of the doubt that he wasn't just trying to take advantage of someone he assumed was too naive too know how long the job should take. He became very defensive, making excuses when I said we'd need to end the job at one hour. Im sure judging by other less than 5 star reviews here (that I really wish I'd have taken the time to read) he will post a very defensive response here as well. Please just don't take a job you don't have the required expertise to complete, and I don't want to hear defensive excuses when I'm still out $200 for almost no work completed.

To some this may have been the part where you panic, especially if you are running small items back and forth to your new place, to me?? Prince Movers had the initial best rate and their hourly rate was great - far less than the other companies. Plus, they were able to move us on a Saturday. Our team was Carlos, Omar, Marvin, and Rafael. They showed up exactly on time, were polite, worked well together, and kept us fully informed of everything they were doing. One thing that was great is how they took time to prepare the home for the moving process, protecting floors, stairs, and other surfaces to make sure zero damage was done. Their wrapping of items was great - you can definitely tell that they care about protecting your items. Moving is always a pain, but Prince Movers and the team were awesome from the first quote to the final hand shakes with the team. I would recommend them to anybody and I will definitely use them again.

I…read morehave nothing but good things to say :) Also for being a storage facility, I thought it was kept pretty clean and in pretty good condition. Units are in good shape, well lit, easy to access... I did see that there were a lot of comments about the facilities, but honestly, they seem comparable to most similar storage facilities in the area. Just standard units with various sizes, indoor/outdoor/temp controlled options and garage doors style openings. More importantly, the temp controlled area doors were always closed in my experience, which is reassuring, because you pay a higher rate for that. During business hours (when staff were onsite), I would occasionally see the gates were left open, but never doors. I don't know if that was for staff to have easier access, but I never experienced that after hours. I would also say that I felt the site Manager (or corporate?), were very prompt in communication. There was a sprinkler that had gone off somewhat near my unit and I received prompt notification about the incident and to come in to assess any damage to my things (I pay for insurance each month). The actual sprinkler was not in my row of units or on the same end of the rows, but I appreciate being notified so that it wasn't a surprise if I came in and there were issues. I give the overall experience 4 stars because it did become very pricey and it seems the only way to avoid these price hikes is to just move your stuff to a different storage facility (and who needs the hassle?). I had stored my stuff here for 4 years in a 10x10 indoor, temp controlled unit. I will be transparent about my pricing experience: Jan 2020: $290 Jan 2021: $296 July 2021: $345 April 2022: $390 August 2023: $393 May 2024: $454 The May 2024 jump was pretty larger and more than I was willing to continue to pay and I did contact the business directly to work out a deal for a few months until I ultimately down-sized enough that I didn't need it (It was very easy to cancel, no fuss). I just want to point out that it was never double and I was always notified in advance off the next month rate increase. I don't agree how the corporate-levels of these facilities operate. It does drive up prices unnecessarily, randomly and by jumps that are hard to manage. I do think there are scam-esque qualities, but that is an economic policy argument and note a review :) So suffice it to say that overall, storage is pricey, but this was a very nice facility and experience overall.

Pricing options were great and Allan was very transparent on working with me if needed come renewal time when rates will eventually go up. The process to get a unit was smooth and fast, which I appreciated a lot during the stress of moving. I definitely recommend Extra Space Storage :) Malik and Allan are both great!

Extremely disappointed. - Started off well. Move set up for one piece of furniture (large cabinet bought from a store going out of business). Received email estimate of $110 per hour for 2 movers + $60 arrival fee, plus $30 for shrink wrap and $5 tape if used. Agreed to noon-2:00 on Wednesday. I suggested might we need more movers since the furniture was heavy. Had no problem paying extra to ensure no one got hurt and the piece was moved without damage. Paid $100 for a reservation. - Received an email with the reservation for 2:00 to 4:00. Replied to email asking for verification of time since it was different. No answer. Called the next day and found they'd changed the time. Okay, wasn't bothered by that (at the time...now I see it as a pattern of unprofessionalism). - Day of move. Waited for the call that they'd be arriving at the starting location. And waited. And waited. At 3:30 went to the location to wait. Nothing. Called them after 4:00. Was told things were running late due to heavy rains earlier in the week and they'd check with the movers and let me know where they were. At 4:25 was told movers were 20 miles away finishing up a job and GPS was showing they could be at my location in 48 minutes. The store closed at 6:00 and NoVA traffic can be challenging so we agreed they would come the next day. Cliff (manager?) apologized and said he'd give me a 5% discount. Stuff happens, so not bothered by the rescheduling (again, at the time.) - Day of rescheduled move. Everything was absolutely great. Only two movers showed up, but they were prompt and able to move the cabinet with just the two of them. Wrapped the cabinet in blankets and shrink wrap, wheeled it to the truck (no stairs), drove to my house 3 miles away, wheeled it to my walk-in basement (no stairs), set it up and were done in less than 45 minutes. I was extremely pleased with everything that day and gave the guys a nice tip. They didn't have the paperwork with the invoice, but I assumed it had been because of the rescheduling and wasn't bothered (okay, at this point I should have known better, but the move had gone so well that I was still understanding). - 6 days later my credit card gets charged $309. Added to the deposit, that's over $400, twice the estimate. Called and asked for the invoice. Was told they'd email it to me. Had to call back again when it didn't show up. Finally got it and saw (1) they forgot to credit me for my deposit and (2) They charged me for 2 hours instead of 1. - Cliff called and agreed to credit the deposit. Didn't agree with the 1 vs 2 hours, however. Long discussion followed. I know the move took less than 45 minutes total and luckily have proof. Was so happy about the new piece of furniture and had taken photos (with both camera and cellphone) of the piece IN MY HOUSE after the move and sent someone a text message with the pictures. Move started at 10:00am. Photos and text message all have time stamps between 10:42 and 10:46am. Another way to verify the time would be to check the phone log when the movers called the company at the end of the move. Offered that as a suggestion to Cliff (to check their call log for the time). He said it wasn't possible to find it--gets too many calls. My call with him was unpleasant. I understand mistakes but this was handled poorly. No "I'll check with the team and clear this up," or any effort to find out what happened and verify the correct timeline. Instead I was treated like a lying customer trying to get out of a bill. SO far from the truth. I pay my bills, but won't be taken for a fool. At one point Cliff even said he'd told me on the phone the day of the move they were charging for two hours. Not true. That day we discussed them charging for 2 movers (vs 4 since only 2 showed up), not 2 hours. Finally he said they'd only charge for one hour, but would never do another move for me. (No worries...would never use them again.) Note, I was NEVER ugly with him. I was courteous despite the situation, the whole time. If he'd agreed about the mix-up (not talking about profuse apologies...an "oops, my bad" would be fine) or had agreed to check into it I wouldn't have an issue with them. Really liked the two young men who did the move and found Cliff to be nice as well, until I disputed the charge. If you choose to go with this company (like I did...so many positive comments that I dismissed the negative ones), I highly recommend you get everything in writing at the time of the move, take plenty of photos of the people involved/materials involved/the truck departing, and call to verify the end of the job using your own phone. Sad that it's necessary, but important if you find yourself having the experience I did. (Oh, and they charged me $120 an hour vs $110, I never got my 5% discount, and as of this review, they haven't reversed the $309 charge but have added in the new $118 charge). read more

When we needed to relocate our one-bedroom apartment within the city in a very short timeframe (read 2 days), and they came through in a big way. Abi Enriquez, our point of contact, provided us with an unbeatable quote given our very tight timeline for our move. On moving day, Simon and his team showed up right on time, and they even sent us a message 10-20 minutes prior, giving us a heads-up. Their professionalism was evident from the moment they arrived. They wasted no time and worked efficiently, taking great care with each box, our TV, and all the furniture. They knew what they were doing. I was impressed how every piece of furniture was carefully wrapped in cloth and plastic, and expertly reassembled in the exact rooms we wanted them. We used a moving service for the first time and I was really scared hearing a lot of horror stories around the internet and from my friends how some moving companies charge crazy. But, Mighty Movers made it a piece of cake and they went above and beyond their job to get things done. I don't write reviews at all but one thing the Might Movers did to move our furniture made me write this review. We did not foresee the width of the foyer stairs in our new townhouse as a hurdle when we bought our house(first house:)) But when we are moving and these guys brought in the furniture, there is no way our sofas could make it through the narrow stairs without making a mess on the walls. I was prepared to leave those sofas in the rec room but these guys did not give up, they just quickly grabbed a couple of ropes, coordinated and lifted the sofas directly into the main level from the foyer without even nick or a chip on the walls or the sofas. I couldn't do anything but appreciate these guys. Great job guys!!! I will definitely recommend these guys to all of my friends and anyone else on the internet looking for moving services. I hired Mighty Movers for a move and I was very pleased with their professionalism, speed, and care of my items. Before the move, they told me they would arrive between 8:00am and 9:00am and they arrived around 8:40am so within the window which was perfect for me to plan around. They took apart my furniture that needed to be transported, carefully wrapped everything, and took it all into their truck in a little over an hour. I lived on the third floor and didn't have an elevator and they were still very efficient. Then once we got to my new apartment, they unloaded and reassembled all my furniture in a very timely manner. There was no damage to any of the items that were moved and they helped me put everything where I wanted it to be. I was anticipating the move only taking two hours, but once we got into the third hour I was expecting to pay fully for three hours, but they ended up only charging me for two and a half hours which was a relief. I got quotes from several different moving companies and Mighty Movers were significantly the best value which is why I initially chose them. Excellent! We moved on 4th June from 1Bed Room to a town home. Hannah was very helpful initially in setup and providing all the required information. Since we have planned to move early in the morning I was bit concerned if they will show up on time, but they did show up and that too like 10 mins before time that was good start. They worked very carefully right from using floor protector to the way they wrapped important items in blanket and they did all dis-assembly and Assembly of the furniture carefully. House which were moving to was a town house which had very narrow stairs inside the house, but still these guys managed to moved stuff in carefully without damaging anything. On the day when we moved it was very hot but these guys worked very hard tirelessly, never stopped and never complained about anything they are truly mighty guys. Needless to say that they completed move around estimated time frame. I have recently hired Mighty Movers to pack up my apartment and load everything into a moving truck for me to move from Fairfax, VA to Houston, TX. I was highly impressed with the way they packed and loaded everything into the truck with extreme care, speed, and professionalism...not to mention they were also extremely polite and friendly as well. What also impressed me was that I was charged a flat rate which was affordable and didn't have to worry about them taking their time to get more money, which I've had problems in the past with other moving companies. They loaded all of my furniture, boxes, clothes, etc, carefully, quickly, and strategically into the truck as if they were putting together a puzzle so that nothing would move or slide around during the two day drive to Houston. When I arrived in Houston not a single item was out of place nor a scratch on a single thing due to their meticulous wrapping of furniture with blankets and shrink wrap and amazing skill loading the truck. I used Mighty Movers twice over a 3 week span....once to move my belongings into storage and once to move my belongings into my new home. Both times, the movers were very cautious and quick. The only thing I noticed broken was the base of a very cheap lamp from Walmart which I'd had for at least 7 years. Everything else survived both moves! The lead mover told me twice about two pieces of furniture that were shaky, but even those survived the move and are standing firm in my new place. The price was very competitive, and the customer service was exceptional from Cliff and the office. The movers arrived within the time frame on both occasions....even 15 minutes early the second time actually. The only advice I'd give is to maybe get more English-speaking movers if possible. Both times the lead mover spoke English pretty well, but the other two weren't as good with the language. However, I realized it's a business, and you hire who wants the job. I'm cool with that as long as it doesn't interfere. I'd recommend this company without any reservations. read more

This is a great company. When I was a kid, my dad was in the Army, and we moved around every couple of years. So I know what makes good and bad movers. These guys are the best! They packed my four-story townhouse, loaded and delivered to the new place in one day ... primarily because they had six movers there all day. The man in charge of the move, Cliff, was excellent. He is the one that did the initial estimate. He was in regular contact with me around the scheduling. And from 7am on move day, he was there both directing traffic and helping the movers. He's a great treasure for this company! All of the workers were great. Friendly, polite, and professional. They didn't hesitate to ask questions, or show me when something was already broken or chipped before they wrapped it up. And when unloading, they were very patient with the fact that I didn't know where to send most of the stuff! Moving can be really stressful. But working with these guys took so much of the stress out. I would recommend them to anyone. read more

I am happy that I chose mighty movers since I have moved too many times and helped many people move. I know how stressful hectic and draining moving can be. They responded promptly, Kevin went over everything in depth contacted me ahead of time showed up there on schedule and the boys handled my belonging with care especially my acrylic made items. My moving gentlemen were two young, proactive males and they were fantastic. They loaded and unloaded the vehicle quickly and efficiently packing small bits of incidental material and wrapping larger more delicate goods. They had some great jams on and were very cool and humorous. The total bill was worth it and precisely what was estimated. My furniture appliances clothes and electronics were well packed that I didn't have to search things in the mess while unpacking. Received a quote from a company that shall remain nameless (think books) that was almost double the quote I received from MM for a Feb 8th move. In fact MM price was so good I added all of the boxes I was going to move myself and it was money well spent. I lived on the forth floor of a garden apartment so it wasn't easy for Darrick and Carlos. They are some of the hardest workers I have met for quite some time (I was a mover in my twenties so I know what its like to break your butt). They wrapped all of my furniture in blankets, dragged nothing on the floor and didn't stop until everything was loaded. Never once did they drag their feet. They met me at my destination and unloaded just as quick putting everything where I wanted it, nothing missing, nothing broken. I highly recommend Mighty Movers for your moving needs! They were priced very reasonably & did an amazing job on our move 2 weeks ago! We've been moved professionally a couple of times by big names companies the government contracted to use for us. Mighty Movers did a BETTER job for a much BETTER price! I was able to do a virtual consultation via video chat to show a rep everything in the home & he inventoried everything in that video chat & was able to set my price from that. The team of movers showed up on time both days! The guys & the ladies both worked hard to follow special requests we had. I was also able to get a package with them where they unpacked our boxes as other companies have in the past so that we could start organizing quicker in the home! Highly recommend them! This was my first time moving and I don't think I could have had a better experience. What I liked about them was their transparent approach as they charged according to what they had told me. The price was reasonable for 3 professional movers to a distance of 17 miles. They also gave me some discount that brought down my charges as well. We had three young guys for our move. I can remember only Noel, who was very polite to me. They were super nice and packed all our furniture perfectly before the move and took them to the new place without any scratch. As per my estimate, they finished my move within 4 hours which I think was tremendous. All of our items were back together in the new home. If I had done the same thing by myself I would have had a hard time but yeah, these guys were knowledgeable, polite and of course strong. Thanks to Noel and his team. read more

We moved out of a small apartment on a fourth floor walk up. The movers showed up on time (parked close to the apartment - no small feet with city street parking) and then got to work. I had the pleasure of working with Brian and Mario. They were friendly, and they were prepared. They had all of the equipment that they needed and handled the move out of the apartment, despite all of the stairs, with wonderful professionalism. On the move in we had difficulties getting furniture to different areas of the house, but they were able and willing to work with me to find solutions. I honestly could not have made the move happen without them. They took a day that i was worried about and made it simple. Their flexiblity and professionalism truly set them apart. read more

Mighty Movers are the best. I've moved many times over the years but Cliff and his team were hands down the best. They were incredibly flexible with me. I found myself having to change the date of my move 3 times in about a ten day period. They said no problem and made it happen. Arrival time was scheduled for between 8 and 9 am. They arrived at 8am and went right to work. I am so sorry I can't remember their names. I would really like to give them credit for their hard work. It was a flawless day. I didn't know of Mighty Movers prior to this job. Read the reviews and thought they sounded great. They didn't disappoint. Thanks again Cliff to you and your team. This company is amazing. They were able to accommodate a same-day move with only a few hours notice. The rep on the phone was extremely professional and customer service oriented. They offered an all-inclusive price that was half of what other companies were quoting. The crew ended up sitting in 2 hours of traffic on the way to the delivery location and they kept me informed of their progress throughout. When they arrived, they were in a better mood than I would have been in and were incredibly professional. They finished the move and didn't charge me anything additional for the time spent in traffic. Called Mighty Movers during an emergency, when I needed almost everything moved out of our home and into storage. We had a water leak that was undetected for at least a week. Mighty Movers provided the moving service, stress-free, in a very professional manner. The movers and the person I was in speaking with on the phone communicated and treated me the way I like. I also received text updates as well. I give 5-stars because, in addition to the excellent moving service, their customer service puts them over the top! I also hired Mighty Movers to move back into my home. I never expected to be able to say anything good about movers with everything that happened on the route to my old home! These individuals nevertheless are truly remarkable! Everything from prices to policies is detailed on their website! Their punctuality thoroughness politeness and preparation allowed them to finish the job in half the time we had anticipated. I assumed they were careful because I looked for damage to our furniture after they left but couldn't discover any! Our move with Simon, Yester, and Luis far exceeded our expectations. This was our first experience hiring professional movers and we'll never go back! They were incredibly efficient and took such care with our things -- every piece of furniture was wrapped in blankets and taped. I was sure something would inevitably be damaged in the process, especially since we were moving out of a place with several flights of narrow stairs to get to our first floor, but every single thing arrived in perfect condition, and they were finished far earlier than we had estimated. Both moves were transfers within my apartment building. In response to my request to get the same team if possible, the new three-person team had the same foreman as the previous three-person team. They once again did an excellent job - called in advance, arrived early, and worked very quickly and efficiently. The foreman planned well which items should be moved between the two apartments in each trip to minimize the number of trips and the work time. The team members were both friendly and professional. As with my previous move, the cost of the job came in well under the estimate due to the team's speedy work. My two experiences with NewRay have been a refreshing contrast to my experiences with other movers over the years. I plan to continue to use them for any future moves.
