My friend and I walked in as the restaurant was opening for lunch and were seated immediately. It was not super busy. The waitress, Marcia, was kind and very knowledgeable of the menu - including offering a barcode on the back to look at how each item was prepared. The service was 5 stars. The food (which is how I rate a restaurant): we ordered the ribeye aguachile for an appetizer, which was very flavorful, tender, and had a little kick. We enjoyed it a lot. We wanted the pork belly but it wasn't ready. For our meals, we ordered the quesabirria. It was a little oily with less cheese than I am accustomed. It also was a little soggy in some areas. The sauces were good that accompanied them. *** Overall, I'd come back to try more menu items!

No official parking nearby so would recommend taking public transport or ride share, got lucky with street parking ~0.3 miles away. Also tough to figure out how to get in. Once in the vibes were cool with very friendly staff. The food was also really good and reasonably priced. Overall would recommend going.

Make a reservation! Tried to walk in but they are so busy we had to book a table for the next night. The guacamole was delicious, but very pricey. I have never spent $18 on guacamole but it was worth trying once - would probably not order again. However, the elote was excellent and I would recommend it. All the entrees were very flavorful, maybe a tad salty, but everything was well cooked and portions were very fair. One thing to note is the seating is a little crowded and the restaurant is very loud inside, which makes it difficult to converse.

So I needed another bloody Mary but I couldn't find the spot. I came by here months ago for a lunch with friends as it popped up on my Yelp but it was closed.. I then was like ok let's try it I see a Michelada in my future meal plans. So I had the ceviche let the church say amen fresh fresh did I say fresh. The huge fresh shrimp perfectly cooked and avocado yes on top of the Ceviche. Michelada excellent. I also had there green chili enchiladas with steak, the tortillas taste freshly made I give the dish a 3 but based on my taste I like more of a tangy tomatillo for my green chili sauce. They were good just unexpected. If you want a more creamy sauce then it'll meat your taste buds. I definitely recommend

May 1 , Friday 7:00pm The hostess was horrible. We walked in and she told us they were not taking any walk ins just reservations. Never cared to tell us how to make on or help us with making one .. we left and made a reservation for 8:45 online. We came back same host attended us and turns out reservations were behind 30-40 min! It just didn't make sense. Thankfully they had a table on the patio and we got sat within 10 min of our reservation. Sitting in the patio though you dont get the fullest experience with the music and pretty walls ect.. the food was great I have no complaints there and the server Juan was too.

This is a must try in Phoenix! Exceptional customer service, Marcia gave us the best recommendations & everything we tried was delicious. I would comeback and order the same thing again. Very fun restaurant that has great drinks. We weren't 100% sure on what to order so the server brought us 5 of their most popular appetizers and everyone of them was great. We got the pork belly, elote, ribeye, and a few others! For dinner most of us had steak which was amazing especially since it comes with a quesadilla what a nice little paring! I would definitely go at night it almost looks like Cabo when you walk in! One thing didn't love was I would say it's a $$ to $$$ restaurant and they had the toast POS in their hands while taking orders. Such a small thing but I don't think this restaurant is casual enough for that especially with it being higher end Mexican.

Dining area. Super basic, not great, but they added black lights, ceiling inserts and hanging grass (?) to make it "trendy"?

I was super excited to try this place after seeing the reviews. But this was one of those experiences that just didn't work, where each step of the way was a trip-and-stumble and hot worse as it progressed. We ultimately left before we ate because it was a very bumpy road getting as far as we did. (1) Finding the place was tough, we walked a long way because it's very poorly marked on the outside. Navigating to the entry was gross, felt like walking through a small defunct shopping center with a hidden, but not really hidden, hallway. Getting to the hallway involved walking past a dirty old ice cream case covered in dirty cups and trash, dirty floor and walls, and down a urine and cannabis smelling narrow, gravel and dirt back alley. But before arriving inside, parking was beyond a nightmare. There's a "parking-lot" out back that's more like 500 giant potholes surrounded by crushed concrete and gravel surrounded by a chain link ghetto fence. On the building there are multi-step instructions for parking and paying on your phone, then theoretically getting it validated. It was pretty sweet (not!) because it only took multiple downloads and apps, 2 to 3 back and forth trips, multiple app errors, and 8 instruction steps to follow, ugh! When we finally got into the restaurant, the host told us we couldn't park where we did (in their lot!), after the kitchen worker sitting in the nasty, smelly ghetto-alley behind the restaurant by the parking lot told us we could park there and we should just follow the instructions on the signs. The host inside guaranteed we'd get towed from their lot because it was only for employees. What?! He said he could have anyone else in the restaurant verify that we'd get towed. Rather than disagree with him, even though the instructions said otherwise, I went to move the car for the third time (literally). As I walked out I noticed the same parking sign in the ice cream shop nextdoor. They kindly explained that it was fine to park there as long as we followed the instructions. So we broke out our phones and tried it, it failed. We were told we had to go back to the car and re-scan the parking QR code. So, once again I headed back to the car and re-scanned the QR code on the instructions. It failed again. I was required to fake the license plate so it would stop failing. It worked that time and once again headed back inside. Figured we'd sit at the bar for a little bit before going to our reserved table. Nope, there are only 4 - 5 chairs in the bar and "it was full",.... there were indeed 4 people there and since there were 3 in our party, we wouldn't fit. Right, 7 people can't fit in their bar, okay. Ambience was reasonable. Kind of comfy, but seemed the restaurant was trying hard to get from super basic to "kind-of-trendy"and wasn't quite there yet. Headed to the men's room to wash my hands. It was yucky in there, no hot water (hot water faucet didn't work), broken hand towel dispenser, generally dirty and not great. The food had to be good, right? Ummmm. Headed back to the table to look over the menu and order, though I honestly wasn't super psyched to stay there after the constant issues to that point. Ready for this? Drinks are around $25 each and entrees were around $65. Nope, done, got out of there. There was *no way* we were going to spend that kind of money in this place that had been purely challenging and gross. You know how on the surface, from a distance, Las Vegas seems cool with the lights and sounds, but when you get up close you realize it's dirty and gross? Similar feeling here. Maybe the food was so unbelievably incredible that it would have offset everything else, but I doubt it, that would have to have been some magical food. Based on my experience, I won't be back.

We were in the area for my son's graduation, and we just searched good food near us! This place popped up and waw all I can say is the presentation from walking up to entering is amazing! Very great vibe and the hostess were very kind and commentating as a party of 5 with no reservations they worked with us and sat us in their patio area. Very nice setting inside and out, we had Jorge as a server and I just have to say THE ABSOLUTE BEST SERVICE EVER! He was knowledgeable about the menu gave wonderful recommendations on food and drinks. He was honestly one of the best waiters we have had in a long time, checking in on how the food was, refills on drinks and he even surprised my son with a cheese cake and poster for graduation! Such a cool touch to set up our night! We had birria tacos with the great sauce and beans, three green sour cream steak enchiladas with a tasty salad and burger and fries! A few shots of don julio and a couple Mexican candy shots that Jorge recommended for me since I didn't want anything too harsh or strong! That was the BEST SHOT I EVER HAD! And will now be my go to!!! We will be back for more delicious food and great service! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Que Chulo! Bold colors, photogenic cocktails, and a mouthwatering menu. Four of us rolled in on e-scooters during a downtown double date, and this instantly set the bar for the night. What we ate: Sonoran Shrimp Ceviche Pork Belly Chicharron Quesabirria Tacos Ribeye de la Casa Surf & Turf Cheesecake Everything was cooked perfectly and bursting with flavor. The room was buzzing with birthdays and anniversaries--this is celebration food. We've talked about this meal multiple times since, which says a lot. I almost never revisit the same restaurant, but this menu is calling me back.

A fun ambiance and excellent service! They have a large menu of creative cocktails, which were great. The guacamole was unique, great acidity, and topped with mango which added to the flavor. The sonora tacos were good and the sopes were really outstanding. Seen this restaurant on Instagram and decided to give it a try. The minute you walk in, you are greeted by the hostess. (we came on Friday night) We were walked to our table on the patio, definitely recommend the patio. Music was amazing played some really good beats. The Quesobirria entre was delicious and the flavors just reminded me of the authenticity of true food. My husband ordered the Discada skillet and it was Phenomenal. Now the drinks.... Great first meal in Phoenix. The drinks were delicious and very creative. We split the guacamole, the chips and salsa, and the Sonora tacos (both beef and chicken.) Went in for a family member's birthday a couple days ago, the food was good, but nothing amazing that leaves a mark. A bit over priced for the taste in my opinion. Our server despite it being not very busy only came to take our orders, bring the last plate out which was 10 mins after everyone else received their food, and to give us the check. Came here with a group of four. The service was pretty good and friendly. The food was pretty mediocre though. It was very overpriced in my opinion for what we got. The elote for an appetizer was really tasty, but it was on the cob, making an extremely difficult to share with four people The guacamole just came with four chips so we had to ask for more, and they brought us for more. First time coming here on a recommendation. I am a full blown Mexican so I rarely go to mexican restaurants. I have to say the food was unique but delicious. The service was outstanding. Ady was our waitress. She took the time to offer recommendations and answer all of our questions. The drinks we amazing. I had the Callejón del Beso. At Adys recommendation I ate the flower it came with and it was a different but awesome experience. I also had a chapulin (grasshopper) for the first time in a drink and it was delicious. I had the ribeye and it was cooked to perfection. The elote was delicious as well. I highly recommend for a unique experience. read more

Miel de Agave was excellent from start to finish. We arrived about 30 minutes after they opened and were seating immediately, with Ady as our server. Ady was phenomenal--very attentive, kind, and helpful with the menu and suggestions. She told us her favorite entree and drinks without us having to ask, and she checked on us often throughout our meal. Every drink we had was delicious! I had the prickly pear margarita and I loved it. For food, I had the sopes de chicharrón en salsa verde and it was wonderful. The flavors were soooo good, and the portion size was actually perfect. It was my friend's birthday so they gave us a complimentary tres leches which had a citrus-y infusion in it. Again, delicious! The ambiance was awesome. The decor was modern yet homey, and they had some bomb Latin hits playing the whole time. Overall this was such a good dining experience and I would 100% come back whenever I'm in the area. read more

After reading reviews, and viewing their menu here on Yelp ; I decided I wanted to come here for Valentine's Day. I was super excited because I had an idea of what I would want to eat. I then got here to find a very SMALL menu that honestly disappointed me. The menu included a very small selection of overpriced meals, appetizers and drinks ( which I think is false advertisement). I would have never came if I would have known what was going to be offered here. We ordered a guacamole and chicharrones which were good, but a small amount for $24 worth. We also got the wagyu burger which was really good and the birria Torta which wasn't. The birria torta was very soggy once it got to the table, the bottom bread was leaking into my hands every time I took a bite. The birria also did not have any flavor. On the bright side, we had live music and our waiter was nice. But I would NOT recommend this place, at least on a holiday. read more

Been really looking forward to this place and was just saddened by our experience. Honestly and unfortunately one of the worst experiences I've had. We legit sat down and thought it was going to be amazing as the ambience is cool w/ great music artwork and all around feel. Then my buddy saw the Chapulines on the menu and was crazy pumped as that's apart of his culture back home so the hype kept building. They arrived (roasted grasshoppers if you didn't know) and he said they were pretty good. Then our drinks and food showed up. Drinks were watered down and not very flavorful and some were made wrong entirely. My wife can't do tequila so ordered a mojito with rum and it came with tequila and then when my wife asked for it to be repaid was told it was made correctly the first time. When it was remade it just tasted like lime water. I ordered their rendition of an old fashion Lost Treasure which tasted watery it had a cool presentation but for the price just not worth it. The only drink that was acceptable was the Canta y no Llores but of the 4 we ordered only 1 being worth it just continued to be on par for the course. Empanadas came and both styles we tried we just bland. Truly truly hope we just for some had the biggest off night experience ever from them but it was just unavoidably bad as it was in almost every aspect of our time read more

I thought the beef and pork were really good. I personally left the restaurant full, but many others in my party did not. I think it's a really good amount of food for 2 people, but when you push to 3+, you probably do not want to come hungry. Also--the live music at Pemberton next door is SO LOUD, you're going to be shouting at your table the entire night when you sit outside. I think I would come back if I wanted to show this place to someone who didn't live here, but it isn't on the top of my list for when I'm trying to eat out, but I will definitely consider this for special date night occasions. This was my first time here and we were seated almost immediately. That was nice. If you decide to try it out, go around 7:30 wasn't packed. Our hostess was very sweet but attentiveness was not a strong suit. Our overall experience would be zero stars for the restaurant and how it's managed, if it were possible. 1. Our drink order was taken 10 min after being seated. It took a very long time to get any drink to the table this is water included. Unfortunately, we never received a few of the signature drinks that were ordered. Those drink are $20-$25. Also if you get beer there is an additional $2 charge. They couldn't explain that charge to us. Weird. 2. Food came out, not cold but not warm. Trying to not be harsh but not what was expected for $175 dish. The meat had very little flavor. The bone had little to no marrow. Also was missing food that was ordered. 3. There was one dish that was really nasty and it was El Aguachile. It was only agua, and I'm trying to be polite as possible. We asked for something else instead. 4. Bacon wrapped pepper shrimp poppers were good. 5. The manager was walking around and was asking how our experience was and my niece said horrible before his attention was directed to someone walking by. So when he turned back she brushed it off and looked the other way. 6. Manager made the hostess (don't like the word server ) bribe us with free desert if we left a yelp. So we said wonderful, a bill that is over $1200 with missing drinks and food, it should come with desert. 7. We made our reservation at 7:30. It took them til 11:45 to give us our check. No we weren't just sitting having a good time. At one point the employees came up to us letting us know that after 11:30 every single person in the restaurant will be getting a charge of $25 for a band that they had playing that night. Once we got the hostess attention she pushed back, now making our experience in perspective of her least satisfactory. She answered me, and I quote "let me provide bottle service to the table behind you because they're getting antsy and I'll come right over". They had just arrived, and I'm not kidding, 5-7 minutes before asking for the check, which was very disappointing to get that response from her. Still didn't see her and the band had started playing. We were asked to move from the table for another party and to avoid the $25 charge. Once we all pull out our payment methods they declined one of us for having $300 cash. At this point I thought we were being Punk'd, but Ashton Kutcher never came out. This is a very new restaurant and we did highly consider that. But we are NEVER go back. This restaurant was, at best, an average experience. Given that Miel De Agave markets itself as a refined, upscale, date-night destination, I walked in expecting a warm atmosphere. Unfortunately, the ambiance fell noticeably short. While the concept suggests something intimate and sophisticated, the dining room felt underwhelming and lacked the charm and attention to detail you would expect from a restaurant charging premium prices. It simply did not deliver the elevated environment it presents itself to be. The service was also disappointing. Our server was prompt in introducing themselves, but beyond that initial interaction, there was little effort made to enhance the dining experience. There was no thoughtful engagement, no meaningful recommendations, and no sense of attentiveness that typically accompanies fine dining. At this price point, you expect service that complements and elevates the meal -- not just basic table maintenance. As for the food, it was adequate but far from memorable. We ordered the ribeye steak with lobster, hoping for a standout dish. While it was prepared competently, it lacked the depth of flavor and refinement that would make it worth returning for. Nothing about the meal inspired excitement or left a lasting impression. Overall, this is not a restaurant I would visit again. Miel De Agave is the real deal. We got the Birria Tacos and the Sonoran Shrimp Ceviche and both were honestly incredible. The birria tacos were messy in the best way possible -- rich, flavorful, and the consommé for dipping just took them over the top. Like I was soaking every last bite. The Sonoran Shrimp Ceviche was so fresh and had just the right kick to it, perfect starter honestly. The atmosphere in there is just chef's kiss -- great music, beautiful interior, feels elevated without being stuffy. Like it's the kind of place where you show up and immediately feel like you made the right choice for the night. OMG! What a nice surprise! Our friends brought us to this little spot downtown and we went just to be nice...well...they were the ones who were nice! They turned us in to a little known secret in the heart of downtown. Mexican food the way you be never had it. Light, fresh, and innovative...this is a place for foodies and the food ignorant. They know how to please absolutely any diner. The drinks are outstanding. You must try the Agavero! A cocktail that will make you want a second...and no one will care because they will be eating the Quedo Fundido and never notice! On to the octopus and Sopes de Chicharon Prensado! We were so full but kept going. 3 orders of Charros Beans were a must for our table of 4. This place is AWESOME! The food and drinks are incredible, like top notch. The elote, empanaditas de huitlacoche, sonora tacos and green chili cream enchiladas (with steak) were all delicious! Especially the tacos and enchiladas. Cocktails were fabulous and the service was fantastic. Marcia is by far one of the best servers in the industry!!! Attentive and knowledgable making recommendations on everything we ended up trying from food to drink... happy campers all around! There just isn't stellar service like this these days... We had a reservation to celebrate a graduation and were really looking forward to it, but the experience before even being seated was extremely disappointing. The hostess was condescending and rude, speaking to us in a way that felt dismissive and unnecessarily forceful regarding our reservation. Instead of trying to resolve the situation or offer any hospitality, she escalated it to the point where our reservation was canceled altogether. For a place that positions itself as a nice spot for celebrations, the lack of professionalism and basic courtesy was shocking. The weather delay day from hell led us here (along with a favorable Yelp review). 5 hour delay from Seattle, diverted to CA and then the dance to get to the rental car terminal was intense . Needless to say, we were drained. Upon arrival, we sat in the bar simply looking for great food and drink. Jorge came to our rescue. His warm welcome, empathetic ear, and most importantly, the amazing margaritas he prepared were wonderful. The perfect antidote! Wow, this little hole in the wall is amazing. We had the quesabirria and octopus tacos, which both were to die for. I loved that the octopus had grilled Pineapple and pickled onions, and the consume that came with the Quesabirria was some of the best I've ever had. We started the meal with the empenaditas de huitlacoche which, for the uninitiated, are made with a special corn that has grown a certain fungal growth that is not only hard to find in the US but also a particularly delicious delicacy. Last time I was here the food and service was actually really good and the free drink to leave a review was a nice added touch... but tonight, the service was incredibly awful and the food was mediocre. And was left no choice but to leave 20% gratuity due to there tablet. The waitress was incredibly rude from the moment we sat down, the manager who was so nice took our order because she never came back. The steak fajitas I ordered were so fatty and never came with the sides that were offered on the menu.
