They really shouldn't have glass windows where customers can watch the employees working on the cars. I say this because I arrived at my 12 PM appointment a couple minutes early, checked in and provided my car keys to receive a simple oil change. Once checked in, every single worker I could visibly see were all sitting around smoking cigarettes inside of the shop. There weren't any vehicles being worked on, they were all just standing/sitting around. I watched the younger gentleman finish his cig 15 minutes AFTER my appointment time, then proceeded to go bring my car in. They discovered I had a small gas leak in the rear end of my car and showed me and told me what needed to be done. I told them I could have my boyfriend fix it instead, but the front desk receptionist called to see if they had the parts to fix it and how much it would be. While she was on the phone doing that, the guy working on my vehicle left and went to the gas station and came back with Arizona iced teas for everyone instead of finishing the oil change.. I've been here for over an hour when I can visibly tell my car was only worked on for less than 30 minutes... not only that, but once finished, I sat for another 10 minutes waiting for someone to tell me I was good to go and that I could leave. So far I have had the best experience at Midas , everything was fast and there was no hassle . The customer service was great Especially the manager JD he got us in and out within an hour . The service is legit and also inexpensive. My original dealer tried to charge me 119 for a new alignment and charge me for a brand new wheel . And at Midas I only payed 50 thank you and I'll come again when I need to. read more

This is by far the worst possible customer service I have ever seen. I go in because my car does is not accelerating correctly. I tell them I have to rev up my car to 4 or 5000 rpm for it to even move when I come to an complete stop. They take my keys, do the diagnostics and tell me it's this code and that all these different things need to be done to get my car running back to normal. I specifically ask will this FIX the problem. The manager told me that this will fix the problem. I tell them to do the work which totaled out to be a little shy of $800 dollars. I leave the shop and the same problem I had been having is not fixed. This work was done Wednesday afternoon. I worked all the way through until Saturday that week and by the time I got over to Tempe that Saturday, the shop was closed. I called that following Monday afternoon and told them that the problem I had brung my car in for was not fixed and they told me to bring it back in to run more diagnostics. I bring my car in Tuesday morning after working a 12 hour night shift and I am sitting in their waiting room for a total of 7 hours due to waiting for parts and installation. I was told it was my o2 sensor burning out and that's why my car was failing to accelerate. The install then took about an hour to finish. After the install was finished, the manager then stated that what he did and how much the parts had cost. He told me my o2 sensors were burned out and they changed the and then charged me another 672.00 on top of the almost 800 that was suppose to fix the problem initially. When I took my car in today, he showed me the code they were getting from the machine and he showed me all of the could be causes that was making my car drive the way it was. He said they had already changed all of the other things so the only thing they could think it would be was the o2 sensor. I am pissed because you get a number of codes and the one thing you didn't do the first time I was here was check and make sure my o2 sensors were working correctly? That takes about 5 minutes to take the machine and check, but you tell me all these other problems are wrong that are pretty pricey and then try to make it seem like your doing me a favor. I am outraged by this whole experience because I don't just have 1500 laying around to be paying to a finance company and I feel like this all should of been handled in my first visit to the business. I specifically asked if that would fix the problem and I was told yes. Then I have to waste more of my time and money to make a second trip to these so called professional mechanics. I will definitely not be returning to these scam artists. read more

I used a group-on this last weekend. I was I initially told because of the engine size I would need to pay for the additional oil. However, the owner graciously waived this fee. The owner was level headed during a conversation with a disgruntled patron that was unnecessarily escalated (sometimes the customer is not right). I will definitely be coming back to this Midas as a result of how the owner and staff conducted themselves in a situation that was scary for my young child. read more

I went to Midas on Sept 12th for an oil change, and was told 2 of my tires had "serious dry rot" and need replacement right away. My tire size was not in stock, but was given an expensive quote. The following week I went to my Firestone store on Chandler Blvd. They inspected my tires and guess what?! They are FINE! Won't need replacement for at least another 2 oil changes. Midas also did not rotate my tires, but that service was on my invoice! Save yourself some $$$$ And do not visit that establishment. read more

This is coming from someone who was actually a customer and not an employee. So anyway, here is my brief story. To start off, I lied to the employee at the desk stating that I just bought this car from someone with 18,000 miles on it and was hearing a light squeaking sound from the front brake pads. Truth be told that I've actually been leasing the car for two years since I drove it off the lot with zero miles. 20 minutes later I receive a call from an employee stating that my rotors need to be resurfaced (typical lie) and that my rear brakes need to be "adjusted" on top of the front brake pads replaced. What a surprise, you guys are trying to tell me there's more stuff wrong with my car? I think every single time I have ever gone to a Midas to replace my brake pads on four different vehicles they tell me my rotors need to be surfaced! The only reason I gave them another chance this time was that I didn't have a ride home and needed to go somewhere within walking distance. When I arrive to pickup my car an hour later the sales pitch for the additional work I rejected continues. I then asked for the manager to sign and initial that the work was completed in my maintenance log for my car and received an interesting and puzzling look. A little advice people; anytime you're dealing with a place like Midas and you have a leased car, get them to sign that the work was completed in your maintenance log. I've previously taken one of my old cars into a Midas three days in a row because my front brake pads were actually never replaced correctly the first time. STICK WITH MEINEKE! read more

Friendly fast service. Went for an oil change. Was told an hour but was done in less than 30 min. When I drove away I made it 20 feet before my oil light came on. Talked to them and it was an easy fix, just didn't snap down the casing to my filter. Cost me less than five minutes for them to figure it out but Nick took me back in and gave me some free service coupons. Even though it was a mistake their attitude and candor impressed me. I suggest you get a new manager A.S.A.P. He is rude and very condescending. I have been there a few times for a simple oil change and his way of communicating is like an obnoxious salesman. He insists on things not needed and treats you like you don't know any better. Every time I got an oil change he claimed I needed an air filter. I just had one replaced 9 months ago with him and just the other day when getting another one he comes to me with a filthy one (looks like the same one he showed me 9 months ago) claiming its mine and I that I need a new one. There is no way that is possible. He is a crook! He sold me tires that are not what he claimed and argued with my opinion about it. My tired tread was only 6 and 8 on the two tires he insisted I change or he would not do an alignment. I had to bring my car back after the service due to the condition my car was given back to me in. Not once did the manger "Nick Manselli" bother apologizing when addressing my concerns. My glove compartment box was not put back right and half of the items that were in my glove box were thrown back in and the other half left on my seat. The seat was left down as someone was sleeping in the car. Black grease prints were left on the glove box, door frames, and area around steering wheel which Nick was sarcastic about as though as I was being petty about fingerprints. Dirt/Mud stains were on the "new" tires I was given and dirt was left on my carpet in the car. When driving on the highway and when I brake my car vibrates and still drifts a bit but he insists its fine after driving it. Mind you while there another customer was complaining about an issue they had and was a bit irate. Nick actually yelled right back at him. I'm aware of a few contracts you guys are working on and already have with the dealerships there and other companies. I will be sure to make them aware of not only the lack of customer service there but also the crooked ways of upselling customers for things not needed. read more

I've had a great experience here. I used the Groupon for an oil change. I choose the wrong oil type and before they did anything explained I needed synthetic and made sure I understood why. They are upfront with you and don't push you to make repairs but will explain it to you fully. It's really hard to find a repair shop that you can trust. Nick, the manager, was great to work with and made me feel like I can trust him. I did wait a few extra minutes for them to pull my car to the front and Nick compensated me without me saying a word (I wasn't upset but really appreciated the gesture). I am now returning to get new tires and my scheduled maintenance. They have EARNED a customer. read more

Went in to see wat was wrong with my car, they took it back looked at it and after awhile Nick came to me and told me that my brakes were bad and that I needed new calipers. I was also told that my engine was seriously messed up and would need to have that replaced. Unknown to him I had just had my vehicle serviced for brakes only a couple of months ago. After I was told all of this I lost all trust with him and this store. I told him I wanted my car back and he tried to work a cash only deal to get everything fixed. When I asked if there was a warranty nick told me that there would only be a "tail light" warranty. I do not trust anyone there and do not recommend them for any service. I feel that Nick and the franchise owner knowingly scam people and take advantage of our trust in them. I took it to Brakes Plus where I had originally gotten my brakes done and they fixed my issues without having to lie to me and showed me everything that was wrong and I will not return to Midas ever again! These guys are the greatest. If you're looking for an honest, fairly priced auto shop come here. When my old car broke down back in january, they managed to do a huge repair for me and get the car out of the shop in less than a day. Not only that, they were able to find me refurbished parts to help me out with the cost factor. Down the road with my "new" car is where they truly impressed me. Now just to be completely honest, I am an anxious person at the best of times and have a tendency to catastrophize. When my car started dying on me randomly (and i had just replaced the battery), i brought it in. They spent all weekend (at my request) looking for something wrong with it - and told me honestly that they couldn't find anything. Later, I realized the auto lights didn't always turn off. A lot of shops have previously given me a list of things "wrong" with my car just to get a quick buck. Not these guys. Later on when my car died yet again, i got it towed over. Turns out silly me had just run out of gas. Instead of making me feel dumb, the Gen Manager, nick, educated me on where to keep my gas levels and what happened. If you're looking to auto repair scam and poor customer service, then the Midas at 7710 South Autoplex loop, Tempe Az. is the place to go. I had a engine check light on last week, on my 2006 Chrysler Pacifica, the Signature edition. It had 89,000 miles on it. My dear wife found a MIDAS coupon online which offered a free engine code diagnostic. The coupon read "We can help free, up to 1/2 hour of diagnostic services. Initial scan for engine trouble codes and written estimate for repairs". I took my auto there the very next day for my 9:30am appointment for the free computerize printout of engine check light. They told me they found four codes. Three of the codes indicated that I have serious transmission problems, the fourth code indicated I needed a catalytic converter replacement. They quoted me from $1787 to as much as $2300 to repair or replace my transmission and $700 to replace the catalytic converter, not including Taxes. I asked them for a copy of the print out generated from the computer output showing the codes. They hand wrote the 4 codes on a sticky pad. I told them I would like to get a second opinion before I commit to over $3000 in repairs. They then charged me a fee of $45.00 for "diagnosing" the catalytic converter problem using the "free" engine check codes. I found a professional, reputable, transmission auto repair shop where I had my Pacifica towed. The codes printed from their computer were the very same as the codes Midas gave me. The one code was from the catalytic convertor, which they couldn't help me with, but they would repair my transmission. The charged me $286 for the repair of the transmission with a 3 year guaranty. I highly recommend people to not use Midas. read more

I used a Groupon that include a full service oil change, tire rotation, air conditioning check and full inspection. Scheduled an appointment for 8 a.m. dropped car off went home. Got a call at about 9:15 saying it was ready. When I arrived it was not busy at the shop at all. I asked if there were any leaks I should be aware of knowing there was but was told No, it looked good! So I knew then they didn't check anything. I went out to my truck after paying and checked my tire pressure, 3 different pressures and knew that they hadn't even checked something that simple. Talked to Tom in front and expressed concern, he agreed that it seemed they didn't do the work they should have. They then pulled my truck in to do the work they should have already done! I had to then wait at the shop while they did the checks and rotation of tires that should have been done while I was at home. This cost me an extra hour of my Monday morning, and a missed appointment at the gym. They didn't offer my any discount or extra service for my huge inconvenience let alone an apology! I will not be going back to things location, as I can't trust them to do their job even on a slow non busy day! I guess customer satisfaction is not high on their list! Sad part is I was hoping to find a reliably car place as I just moved into the area.....their loss! read more

This shop has definitely restored my faith in honest and fair dealings with customers. I recently purchased a Groupon for an oil change that included other courtesy inspections for free that cost me $19. They did the oil change an Lube and discovered a leak coming from the front of the vehicle but couldn't determine where it was coming from. Rick (the man who was handling my transaction), said they could do a pressure check that included inserting a dye to show where the leak was coming from for $27.99. I agreed to let them do it. Turns out there was a leak in the timing cover which allowed condensation from the air conditioner to drip earlier than it should have. In other words there was no "problem" to be concerned about. Not only did he not charge me for the pressure check but I walked out not paying one more cent other than the $19 I paid for the Groupon. I will definitely recommend this Midas shop to all my family and friends. read more

I bought a Groupon oil change at Midas. It was a good deal and I never been to Midas before. They've been around for years and I thought I'd try it out. What a bad idea. When I arrived to get my oil changed they told me I need an appointment for another day. Days later when I went back again they made me wait 45 minutes before they pulled my car into a stall. Afterwards, the manager on duty, Nick Maselli wouldn't rotate my tires because he said they were too worn. This guy was such a liar and is so bent on making money, that he didn't listen or care...he just babbled and he lied about my brakes. When I asked why my brakes wouldn't have warned me that they were so bad by squeaking, he simply stated that they were so cheap that they are made not to squeak when they're bad. What? He went on to say they were so bad I really need to leave the car there. When I refused, he made me sign a waiver before I got my keys back. Later, when I inspected the pads, they still have 1/4", no squeaking. MIDAS is an overrated dinosaur. Time to go Nick. read more

I USED to go there all the time. They USED to do great work & the service was always top notch. Until my last experience with them. I took my Titan in to get the transmission replaced. The manager Drew was very accommodating to get this job done. When the job was complete I picked up the truck and it was driving nice. Until later that night I drove it and the exhaust was making a loud noise & my oil gauge was going crazy. I had to wait till Monday to call since they are closed on Sundays. Sunday morning I walked out the truck & noticed the bumper was hit. I called & talked to the other manager Tom who in my opinion the biggest Ahole.. Why this guy is aloud to talk to customers is beyond me. He said that I need to wait for Drew to get in. I talked to Drew explained the issues, he had me bring the truck back in. Like usual Drew took care of the issues. But my bumper was still wrecked. Drew said he would look into it.. I provided photos of the truck before the work was done the bumper was not ruined. They had my truck in their shop for 4 days prior to the work. After days of going back & forth they told me that I could kick rocks, there is nothing that they will do for me. I was even told that I could email the owners or call them, but was never provided contact info. I was told that I could sue them if I wanted too.. So I am. I have an AG complaint filed. A BBB complaint filed, And now in the process to file a law suite. I hope you still have your " security footage " on hand.. Now I do have to admit that the manager Drew was just doing his job and telling me what he was told my the owners. Drew is a good guy & will try to make do the right thing. Tom the other manager needs to update his people skills. He has to be the most worthless person to deal with there. Other Midas shops in the valley even agree what an ahole he is.. read more
