This has become the our new go-to for lunch with my parents every other week. We try something new most of the time and have never been disappointed. My favorite is the patty melt. My first experience here was great. The restaurant appeared to be clean and our food came out fresh and hot. I got the Chicken Fried Chicken with the jalapeño gravy, mashed potatoes and creamed corn. It was very good, I had been craving comfort food and it really hit the spot. My daughter got a cheeseburger and she said it was better than In-N-out (not sure how true that is LOL I didn't try the burger but she may be right). My other kids got the chicken strips and they were amazing. I could tell they fresh and not frozen strips. I read some great reviews on Mia's Table and they were all validated with dinner last night! The food was spot on with the reviews but I did not read much about the awesome atmosphere! The outside seating was perfect for dinner. They played some old country music that was a nice touch. They also have TVs if you are looking for a place you can also watch the game. The service was top of the line! Our food came out fairly quick but they brought me the wrong sides. Instead of it becoming a problem, they quickly went and got my correct sides and allowed me to keep the sides I didn't even order. That was a nice bonus since we all wanted to try every side we got pretty close with a couple extra on the house! The food was on point! The chicken fried chicken topped with Japaeno gravy was a huge helping and very tasty! The Mac n cheese and green beans were my favorite sides but the mashed potatoes with more gravy and the cream corn were close behind! I don't think the cream corn is for everyone as it was a unique flavor with some orange (?) flavor thrown in. The tortilla soup, however, was too salty. It was full of flavor but just too much salt. I'll end this on a sweet note! ;) The desserts were all good. I am a huge banana pudding lover and I would say this wasn't the best but that may be in part because I'm spoiled with my wife's homemade recipe! The chocolate chip cookie was nice and gooey on the inside (almost to a fault) so the best bites were the edges with a nice crunch to compliment the center. The consensus favorite at the table was the Cookies n Cream milkshake. There were no chunks of Oreo but they did not hold back on the crushed cookie like many other places. You walk into Mia's and order at the counter. They have a good variety on there menu. They have a bar as well on the other side of dining room. The restaurant dining area is large and they also offer outdoor seating. Staff is very friendly and accommodating to your needs and they do bring your food out to your table. Fried pickles are a must try we enjoyed them and they are my husbands favorite. I ordered the grilled pork chops with Mac n cheese, blk eyed peas. The pork chops were seasoned and cooked to perfection. The mac n cheese was creamy and every bite was very satisfying. The black eyed peas were very good and had bits of bacon also very good. Hubby had the turkey burger that had avocado, feta, arugula and pomegranate sauce. Burger was very tasty a little on the thick side but good. Our experience at Mia's was very satisfying and we are excited to come back and try something new. Oh I forgot to mention they offer free ice-cream cones. Mia's is an absolute gift to Katy. Amazing comfort food, cutest dining room you ever did see, friendly, efficient, knowledgeable staff and free soft serve for after your meal! My mom and I visited here a few months ago after a very long day of moving. Tired and hungry, we were greeted at the front door by an incredibly friendly gentleman we later found out was the GM. We arrived in the in-between-lunch-and-dinner-time, and he'd taken the opportunity within the lull to spend some individual time with anyone who happened to stop by. It was really impressive. He chatted with us about his and all of his family's favorite dishes and when my mom asked about the tortilla soup, he immediately went back to the kitchen to retrieve a sample. Before we even ordered our meal we were already sold on this place, and then it got better. The menu is pretty vast and it's full of all things comfort. I was eyeing a burger and the GM explained the meat is ground in-house and it's 100% sirloin. I was interested. Mom ended up with a full serving of the soup she'd sampled (though the size of the sample was seriously enough for a meal - complete with avocado and tortilla strip garnish - there was even enough for me to have a taste). My burger was equal parts massive and delicious. Because my husband is something of a cheeseburger aficionado, I decided he needed to know about this place and took the attached picture of my burger as proof. Fast forward several months and several visits (bringing new people each time) later, we find ourselves in the middle of a global pandemic. Since we're now true fans of Mia's, we've tried to order takeout from them at least a couple times a month. Evidently the rest of Katy agrees because their takeout business is thriving. The staff is still as friendly and efficient as ever. The food is still delicious, and the takeout situation is really easy. If you order online before you pick up, you can enter your vehicle description and they'll bring the food right out to you - all you have to do is park and wait! I could go on and on about the restaurant itself - the perfect patio fitted with party lights and heaters and a play area for the kiddos. The private dining space reserved for large parties. The cutest decor you ever did see. The trough at the cash register filled with every drink imaginable (The sodas are in liter size glass bottles- they're massive). The cherry on top that is a soft serve ice cream station for after your meal. I'm probably forgetting things but suffice it to say this is an absolute must-try in Katy. I've frequented the Upper Kirby location when it was close to my old office but haven't given this one a chance (even though it is so close to my home). Pros: Customer Service - Isabelle at the cashier (that's the name on the receipt), I can't remember if that's what she said her name was. Anyways she was informed about the menu, made great suggestions, kind, and courteous. Seriously, she was awesome! I like that the cashier handed you the drink/water cups with the straws in the paper wrapping in them. Not having to dig through the straw cup at the fountains that a million people touch is great. Free soft serve ice cream for kids of all ages! (Including adults, i think!) Clean and constant flow of employees walking around. All kind and courteous. I ordered the steak salad and my family had a variety of strips and burgers. Everyone enjoyed their food! I loved the flavors and ingredients of my salad. Perfect salad to dressing ratio. Cons:(some likely due to covid) - steak on the steak salad was not warm, kinda too cold. Idk if that's how it was suppose to be served but maybe make fresh steak an option? Pomegranates on salad looked lackluster and maybe a little frost bitten? The seeds were super hard. We really enjoyed the shrimp and onion rings from the seafood platter. The onion rings were tasty. The onion was thin and the flavor was not over-bearing. The shrimp were butterflied and a little over cooked, but seasoned well. However, the catfish tasted like a few mixed fish(seemed more like tilapia & catfish). We played around with it but didn't finish it. (We almost never leave fish on a platter & when we do, we take it to go). We left this behind. The two things we all agreed on, was the free self-serve ice cream machine, with all you can eat ice cream and the friendly, attentive staff.
