Really good steak house. The chef's specials are invariably tasty. The goat cheese appetizer is amazing. The steaks are cooked and seasoned perfectly. The fettuccine Alfredo or chicken fried steak are consistent good options too. Oh and of course the deserts, the rotating cheesecake menu. Oh and the excellent wine list. Service is good 90 percent of the time but they can get too busy occasionally. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They regularly have live music and the restaurant itself has a great patio and a nicely done interior.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Goat cheese appetizer. 9/10 Just a tad too sweet.

Service Perfect! Our next waitress gave us just enough time between delivering our drinks to asking for an appetizer. For some reason I don't like giving my whole order when trying to enjoy a new place. She didn't push and waited until our appetizer was delivered to inquire!! Love love that! She also came around when she noticed our drinks getting close to the bottom, so I never had to look up and see if she would notice!! Spectacular. This was my first time, but my sister's second. She loved it and wanted to share the experience with me. Her great sons got together and gave her a gift certificate and I got to help spend it. Apparently my nephew and his wife know the owner or manager. Not sure. Really not relevant, however my sister did point them out and I loved watching how they interacted with many of their guests and their employees and always saw them smiling. Now the food: we shared a 4 course meal since we wanted to try to everything, but neither of us could finish anything alone. The Bacon Wrapped Shrimp was perfectly cooked and the bonus were the fries that came with them!! The Shrimp and Prosciutto Salad was dang tasty, shrimp expertly grilled, but the rest of the salad fell short. It was missing something that could take it over the top. Lobster Mac and cheese!!! would drive the hour and a half again just for that entree. It was gorgeously plated, I wish that there were cut up pieces already mixed in with the pasta. Still won't turn it away because I had to cut up some lobster! We really didn't have room for dessert.. but what the heck! Key lime pie was divine. Silky and creamy, with just enough tang. We sat inside and though the restaurant is well decorated, I would have liked a little more room between our 4 top and the three others next to us. My sister said that they sat outside for her birthday a few years ago and even though it was mid-August it wasn't too uncomfortable and they had plenty of fans. If you are reading and have gotten this far, know that this place deserves at least 4 and a 1/2 stars. If I go again, I will see if I can change it to 5! Go grab you some amazing food and listen to live music y'all, pricey but worth it!

Just stopped by for a drink but I'll return.

I just wrote in OpenTable that this is one of the most reliable dining experiences in and around Houston, Texas. I am by no main suggesting it is the only one, but it is well worth the drive to Simonton Texas to experience. What was the ambience of Texas before Houston became a major metropolitan area. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The service is always outstanding, and the food is incredibly reliable, and it is certainly worth the cost to have such a lovely dining experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

We found our new celebration spot! Came here for our anniversary, and left so full and can't wait to come back. We made reservations which I recommend especially for the weekends. Unfortunately, our table wasn't ready. No one really greeted us or asked if we've been here, or celebrating anything special. Which was a little disappointing for such an amazing place and celebrating such a huge anniversary. However, my husband had the Houston restaurant week special and it was the best pork chop we've ever had!! Started with the meatballs which were amazing as well! Ended with the pecan pie. I had the special with was lamb and chimichurri. It was absolutely delicious. I couldn't finish it all, but I had to try my husband's food as well which was so good!!!!! Such a great place and will recommend to everyone. Worth the drive! Can't wait until our next trip

Ask the Community - Anthonie's Market Grill

Haven't been here in awhile and planning to take my family there for my bday dinner on 7/31 which falls on a Wednesday. Is there live music every night or only on the weekends?

We have a musician each night usually starting around 6pm. We look forward to serving you!

Do y'all have live music tonight?

Yes, the have live music every Friday night on the patio (as long as it's not raining).

    Is there a dress code?

Since most of the seating is outside definitely dress for the weather. I would not wear cut offs or athletic wear but a nice Summer dress or casual shorts with cute top and sandals is appropriate.

Do you have any vegan options?

Did you end up going? I am curious if there are vegetarian options.

Is there any other nights besides Friday and Saturday that has live music?

We have music every night except Monday!

Best thing to get here? Right away the fried shrimp and chicken fried steak stick out to me! Would love to hear everyone's favorites.

Pork chop and bread pudding. But have yet to order anything I don't like.

What a great dining experience! This was my first time here. I was heading into heavy rush-hour…read moretraffic, so I decided to avoid it and stop to have a good meal before heading home. This restaurant definitely aims to please. I was being very specific about what I wanted for my ribeye steak tonight; waitress Jessie was awesome and listened carefully to my requests. And then to make sure that I was absolutely happy, she brought Chef Kenneth to the table to discuss what I was looking for. Kenneth returned from the kitchen with three beautiful-looking ribeye steaks and we discussed which one would give me the best dining experience. He does some of the butchering himself so he knew exactly what I was looking for. I ended up being served the most fabulous Wagyu steak I've had in a very long time. Unlike the other steaks that can have a seasoning on them, the Wagyu is just salt and pepper and then is served with a beautiful compound butter slathered all over it. They make that butter in-house and it has wine and shallots and bone marrow and other wonderful stuff. Trust me, it's amazing! I ordered extra on the side and poured that all over the top of the steak. Delicious!! Sometimes little things count and it was served with grilled onion that was tasty. I could have had a side of mashed potatoes or asparagus, but I decided to treat myself and try the mac-n-cheese instead. Half of that food was my lunch the next day, so I left enough room for dessert, where my choice was the apple pie bread pudding with cinnamon roll ice cream. That was nice and moist and I enjoyed it. Overall, this was a really great dining experience and I'm so glad that bad traffic gave me the excuse to come here. Will definitely plan a return visit!!

We had simply…read moremoved a table in bar area and instead of politely explaining the situation, the manager came over and told us we couldn't because the table cost $5,000. While we completely understand wanting to protect expensive furniture, the tone and delivery came across as rude and made our entire table feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. On the other hand, I want to recognize our waiter, who was excellent throughout the meal. Raymond was attentive, friendly, and did his best to make us feel comfortable again after the interaction with the manager. His professionalism and kindness were the highlight of our visit. Unfortunately, the food also fell short of expectations. In particular, I would not recommend the mussels. The flavor was unpleasant and left a very bad aftertaste, making them one of the least enjoyable dishes we ordered. Good customer service isn't just about enforcing rules--it's about how those rules are communicated. Unfortunately, the manager's approach, combined with the disappointing food, overshadowed what could have been an enjoyable dining experience.

I'm not much of a seafood person, but my wife is. Thankfully they had a burger on the menu! Double smash burger and fries for me, Serafin's fish tacos for her. The burger was good, I liked the fact that the smashed patties weren't smashed too thin. So often all I get is meat crust, these had body as well. The burger and fries were great, but when I saw and tasted the fish tacos I immediately knew I'd be getting them next time. I only got a bite, but it was yummy with the sauce.

Our server was friendly, attentive, and had a great attitude from start to finish. Unfortunately, almost everything else felt like a step backward. The menu has been reduced dramatically. Once you take away the oyster selections, there are very few entrée choices left. Many of the dishes that kept me coming back are no longer offered. The drink menu has also been cut down significantly. They used to have a much better selection, and it just doesn't feel like the same restaurant anymore. Another frustration is that they're in an area with poor cell service, yet customer Wi-Fi is no longer available. Whether you're trying to check a message, work while you eat, or simply stay connected, it's almost impossible. As for the food, it was just okay. Nothing was bad, but nothing stood out either. I ordered the crab cake with the arugula salad and a shrimp cocktail. Ironically, the small arugula salad that came with the single crab cake was the best part of my meal. The crab cake and shrimp cocktail were fine, but neither was memorable or something I'd come back for. Overall, it feels like Half Shells has lost much of what made it special. Between the limited menu, reduced drink options, lack of Wi-Fi, and average food, it's no longer the destination it once was for me. I truly hope they reconsider some of these changes because I'd love to see this restaurant return to what made it such a great place to dine.
