    Bbq pork bao

We were down the street at a concert and my friend told us to try their roast duck noodle soup in the Rivers Casino. He said it was good, however I wasn't impressed. My friend ordered it and I ordered the wonton noodles soup and the soup was bland. We had to ask for fish sauce, soy sauce, and more seasoning to make it taste the way I like my soup. Wonton in my soup were good. We also ordered the bbq pork bao, that was yummy. We were seatseated in the back private room, which was pretty nice and intimate. Our service was great, she always came to check on us.

Chinese food inside a casino? Most of the dishes are fine such as the seafood rice and the salmon belly rice bowl. The sauce on both however kills any essence of the fruits de mer. The Vietnamese spring rolls are a touch dry. On the other hand the Papayas salad is fresh and spicy, the meat bits give it substance. The beef stew noodles on the other hand will give any pho soup a run for its $. So why only 3 stars? It's too pricey. The is actually very flavorful with the right cuts of meat meaning there's some fat to eat and some ligaments

Great ambiance, service and the pho was good. I'll be sure to come back and try their salt n pepper wings, papaya salad and honey walnut shrimp.

Didn't realize that it was in a Casino so it took us a while to find this place. The parking at the casino is plenty, but the walk from parking garage to this restaurant is long. Because they are in a casino they were crowded (maybe some comps). So, we had to wait. After we struck up a conversation with one of the servers, he even recommended another Asian restaurant in the area. Anyway, we just wanted a quick bite after a flight and still had to drive 90 miles to Milwaukee. So, we ordered a noodle soup and a BBQ pork with rice. Service was prompt and attentive. Foods were OK but not something to write home about. Would probably skip this place next time when the casino is not our destination.

Mian used to be a tiny little eatery (see older photos) but now has a new, much bigger location (maybe 4x bigger) in a new section of the Rivers casino.  Our party of 3 came in to have lunch here.  All of the items we had were authentic and quite good tasting, although our noodle dishes were on the somewhat greasy side.  For appetizers, we had Vietnamese spring rolls ($10 for 2) and siu mai ($12 for 4 large siu mai).  We also had beef stir fry rice noodles ($16), chicken lo mein ($14), and salmon belly rice bowl ($16).  The beef rice noodles had that nice and authentic wok fired taste.  The soupy salmon belly dish was quite nice accompanied with white rice, but the tofu in the bowl was on the sour side indicating it was probably past expiration date.  We didn't return the dish, but just skipped over the tofu.  The atmosphere here was clean and pleasant and the food came out quite quickly.  Nice lively music from the casino was also playing.  If it were a bit better value, I would have given 4 stars, but it is on the somewhat pricey side here.  Overall, a nice outing and Mian is worth a try for Asian here at the casino.

Food was on point. Service was superb and will definitely revisit. Spicy dumplings, chicken lo mein and beef stir fry noodle. Pricing was very reasonable.

This is always a good late night stop when getting into the city. Food is good for the most part, a little over priced but hey... it's in the casino so what do you expect. Service is great and the casino itself is a vibe.

Service is acceptable but food is just not up to par. I had the seafood soup. It looked good but the scallops and shrimp were pretty tasteless. Lobster was better. They use wonton noodles. The broth was lackluster. Book choy was a bit bitter. I also tried the BBQ duck. The meat was way over cooked. Tender but dry, slightly better than eating eating wet paper. I should have known better. Casino don't need good restaurants to pull in people. They just need edible food. This barely fit the bill. Speaking of bill, the meal cost me about $38 after taxes. Went here last night, a favorite place of my friends. They ordered bibimbap and seafood soup, while I got the Salmon belly with rice. The siu mai balls were gigantic and equally delicious. I was excited about the noodle soup and impressed it had a portion of lobster. My friend shared it with me and the soup didn't taste much. Though the baby bok choy was fresh as well as the shrimp and scallops. I was really looking forward to the Salmon Belly but when they bought it on a bowl loaded with sauce, I started to doubt. And when I bit on the hardy cut of fish, I knew it was overcooked. The rice was cold, seem old and unappetizing. We arrived there past 9 and had to wait awhile so that 2 tables may be freed up for the 3 of us. Prices are on the steep side compared to other Asian places.

Mian is a very tiny (talking 7 small tables tiny) quick service Asian restaurant at Rivers Casino. They have noodle dishes, duck dishes, and just a few other cool choices. They are open nearly 24/7 11am-4am S-Th and 11am-7am F-S - that's insane! The main guy working here is so very nice & so cute! The little bar restaurant was totally packed so he took us to the burger joint next door, set a table for us & served us from there. Onlookers wondered where we got our cool noodle dishes, admiring from afar. I had the Roasted duck on steamed rice for $13.50. Much pricer than Asian places I've been to but it's to be expected in a casino dining establishment. The duck was actually quite well cooked & yummy! It was packed full of bones so order knowing what you're getting into. Mian is a great addition to the usual casino buffets and bars, plus filled friendly employees. If you're looking for something a little different while you're at Rivers and slightly cheaper than the Buffet, give it a go! Dishes range from $7-$15.

Came here to grab some dinner before heading back to the suburbs. Item 1: Beef noodle soup with rice noodle - the flavor of the soup is perfectly season (even though my friend said it's a little bland for him). The beef was extremely tender and and melts in your mouth. There was loads of noodle, so will definitely fill you up pretty well. Item 2: Papaya Salad - cantonese style of Papaya salad - a little sweet and a little sour with a tiny hint of spiciness from the beef. The beef was tender and perfectly cook, which pairs extremely well with the crunch papaya Item 3: Beef Chow Fen - The noodle needs a little bite of more flavor and seasoning. The beef, however, was tender and flavorful. I would prefer to go with their soup noodles than their stir fry dry noodles. Tip: Easy, quick and simple dinner for your break between your rounds

I live in Austin now but make sure to visit MingHin whenever I'm back in Chicago for work trips. Went to the Streeterville location for the first time and was impressed by the interior design, service and food (of course). Lots of seating and no wait times at this location (yay!). I ordered my staples - shrimp dumplings, fried shrimp rolls, pan fried potstickers, chow mein, and egg custard tarts for dessert. Each item was better than the last! All the food came out quickly, tasted like it was freshly prepared and was very flavorful. I enjoyed complimentary tea with my meal as well. Still reasonably priced.

This is a chain of restaurants across the city. This location was within walking distance of the hotel. I went with a friend, and we were led to a table immediately. Before we could look at the menu, water was on the table and the menu is on an iPad. The dishes look exactly as what comes to the table. The servers were attentive and were not intrusive during the meal. The restaurant is much bigger than the entryway would have you think. I had shrimp-fried rice and sesame chicken. The thing to know is that the size of the servings is not lunch size, but family size, and the serving size is enough for 3-4 people, particularly if you order more than one dish. The shrimp fried rice was well prepared, but the rice was a bit crunchy. So often the fried rice has carrots and peas, but this had bean sprouts, and they were perfectly cooked, so the sprouts had a bit of a crunch. Too often, this dish comes with tiny shrimp. The size was unexpected, and the lunch was very full. Chili sauce and hoisin sauce are placed on the table, but you have to ask for soy sauce. The tea was nice and very, very hot. I enjoy beginning a meal with tea. The sesame chick en was well prepared and I forgot that this is a dish that is more on the sweet side. I did enjoy it, but thought I ordered a more savory dish with greater heat and spice. I would definitely return, but I will go with a friend and order less.

My wife told me there was a dumpling place in Northbrook and took me there for a late lunch the other day. I know that she's not a fan of dumplings, but "took one for the team" and brought me there. We just ordered basic beverages, her a water and I a Coke Zero. She then ordered Pad Thai and I ordered chicken soup dumplings and chicken sanji. The pad thai came out first and it was a huge portion. She barely put a dent into it and it became two additional meals later. She said it was different than other places she's had it and that it was good, but different. I noticed the chicken pieces were huge chunks and the sauce had a little kick to it and wasn't thick, but it was tasty. I first got the chicken soup dumplings. Man, they were good. They're larger than the ones I've had at Din Tai Fung and The Dough Zone, but they sure are delicious. And since I prefer not to drive into the city and spend over an hour on the road to get downtown, to go find some other dumpling/dim sum place; I'm happy there's a great place in the suburbs near me. They rival the other two mentioned previously. Their sauces are great, the dumplings are great. The sanji was delicious. Heck, that's in their darn name. All of it was good. And this is my go to place in the suburbs now. The place is a cute. As you enter the vestibule, there's a dumpling with a body welcoming you in. The place is just all black and red and you wait to be seated. There is a container with chopsticks on each table, but the napkin is wrapped around a fork (most places you have to ask for a fork, so this is a nice change). I could use a knife for the sanji as they are quite big, but it's not a problem eating them without. Our server was very nice and helpful. There's really no place in the north to northwest suburbs that serves this type of food and you'd be foolish to skip it. I'll see you there soon. I'll be the one making the yummy sounds.
