The food was amazing and the service was excellent. It's a small space, but that only adds to the cozy, welcoming atmosphere. The only thing missing is dessert! Other than that, everything was wonderful, and we'll definitely keep coming back. I didn't get many pictures because once we started eating, we completely forgot -- we were too busy enjoying every bite.

Ari sushi is a sushi house vibe with omakase qualities! Fish quality and pairings with sauces are very good. The size of the fish on the nigiri is great. We tend to rate sushi places on the fish to rice ratio and we definitely give an A+ on this. The sushi chefs take pride in their creations and you can taste it with the pairings. The servers were very kind and informative on the dishes they were serving. We will definitely be back to try all the great options offered. We are excited to tried more makis next time around.

"OMG, this place is a ! It's a small spot, but the sushi is the BEST. We ordered multiple rolls, and my favorite was the Sunny roll--it's so refreshing! Honestly, every roll we had tonight was AWESOME. Highly recommended, 5 stars for sure! "

This is some of the best sushi in the suburbs. I'm definitely a sushi snob after going to Japan multiple times but this did not disappoint. The zuke salmon (from the Ari signature nigiri) was one of the best bites of nigiri I've had. The smoky maki and the Ari maki were also amazing. The fish is so fresh and the combinations blend perfectly. The service is great and the ambiance is very nice as well. Definitely recommend!

Before heading to O'Hare, we stopped here for lunch, and it was perfect! Location is close to the airport, and the food was great! We arrived just before 2pm, and they do close the kitchen at 2, which they informed us about and they gave us an opportunity to decide without rushing, which was great! We ordered a variety of things from their lunch menu, and we also ordered some apps and special items, like the uni toro tartar. It's a small portion but decent enough size to share between 3 people to taste! I thought it was great, and it was also my sister's and her husband's first time eating uni. It was pretty mild and balanced. The sauce that's in the seared white tuna was amazing! Everything else was pretty on point, def will be adding this to our options en route to and from the airport next time!

DO NOT SLEEP ON THE SIGNATURE NIGIRI. FIRE EMOJI, FIRE EMOJI, FIRE EMOJI =P Ari Sushi offers traditional and elevated modern sushi rolls, nigiri and some cooked kitchen items. It is a small and locally owned spot with about 30-35 indoor dining seats. They do not have a full bar however they do offer Japanese beer, wine and sake. They do have 1 cocktail called the 'high ball' which is a whiskey and ginger based drink. The decor/atmosphere could use some love. The quality of sushi is top notch and excellent yet the vibe fell short. I will say that the light fixtures were very nice but the rest of the place could use an upgrade. The tables, chairs, booths and walls could use some TLC. Using cloth napkins vs paper napkins would also provide a more sophisticated dining experience. Service was consistent and attentive. Even the chefs checked in on us a few times during our meal. This shows he truly cares about his customers and their time at his restaurant. All staff members were friendly and helpful. This was my first time there and felt comfortable throughout. Back to the nigiri. OMG OMG OMG, the portion, quality, presentation and flavor. STOP ITTTTTT. My fiance and I tried 3 different signature options - the big eye tuna, zuke salmon and madai. I would come back just for the nigiri and to hang out with chef ari. We also ordered a few signature rolls - Hamachi Yellowtail, Golden Lobster & Rainbow Dragon. They were equally delicious and of great quality when compared to nigiri. Of the 3 my favorite was the Golden Lobster and my fiance's was the Rainbow Dragon. The ratio of rice to fish was great and wasn't overly filled with rice. Ari Sushi offers half portion and full portion rolls. In my opinion it's waaaay worth it to always order full portions. I meannn, why would you do that to yourself?! Hehe

Where do I start? How about from the moment we walked in, our server and the chefs were very friendly and accommodating when we walked in. We liked the vibe of the place. Low light with a sleek black & red decor and some house music played at a comfortable level in the background. The food was delicious. We started with the flounder wrapped Uni and Maui island. We enjoyed both. The were a perfect size app for two people. Then we ordered a bunch of their signature maki. They offer full and 1/2 portions. Since we've never dined here it was nice to order the 1/2 sizes and order more. My favorite section of the menu was the signature maki. Seared salmon & Zuke salmon were some of the stand outs but everyone was wonderful. All and all I can't wait to find an excuse to dine here again, and recommend that you do too.

Spicy Tuna Rice Crispy and Seared White Tuna

The sushi is some of the best I've had, they take a lot of pride in their food, work and service and I really appreciate that. We went there to dine in tonight instead of ordering delivery from them (which we do at least once a week). The restaurant is cozy and well designed. We got the spicy crispy tuna and seared white tuna appetizer, a variety of their nigiri's (try the signature nigiri's) and the salmon don. Their salmon is buttery and perfect. They gave us recommendations on their favorites and suggestions on how to eat each nigiri. It was a lovely experience and we will be going back to dine in again very soon!

Im from Seattle with alot of amazing sushi options so the bar is set high. I was in the area for a work trip and was craving sushi and found this place on Yelp. I had the rainbow dragon roll and assorted nigiri. This place was really good and really fairly priced. The customer service was top teir. Waiter explained the menu and gave great recommendedations. Sushi chef was nice and made conversation. Only reason I don't give them a 5 star is because the ikura (salmon roe) and uni (sea urchin) nigiri I ordered really didn't taste fresh. But overall service, food and price was good.

    Toro, uni quail egg appetizer

Nice small place, with a good atmosphere. Service was a little strapped being they were 2 servers down, but did a good job, 1 guy the whole place. Went day after valentines day so traffic was a little lighter. Food was high quality with specials as well. I'm uasually a Wasabi and soy guy but of the 3 dishes we had, all were seasoned perfectly, no need for add ons. We look forward to coming back now that we know about it.

Hamachi & Yellowtail Maki ($19) - our favorite of the 3 rolls we tried!
    Jen J.

Fresh fish and well-made rolls with fun ingredients. For our appetizer, we had the flounder and uni dish ($16). The uni was so good that we ordered more in gunkan form ($7 each). We also ordered 3 rolls for dine-in and a tonkatsu for my mom as carryout. Of the three rolls, the Hamachi & Yellowtail ($19) was our favorite, but the Ocean Drive ($19) and Sunny ($19) were good too. Very friendly service and nice date-night ambiance.

I ordered a half order of the black dragon, which is a specialty maki. The ratio and texture of the rice were ideal. The outside became charred, resulting in a grill-like appearance and scent to the brittle eel meat. The black fish eggs scattered on the maki gave it a peculiar texture, and the tobiko's color fit the theme. What a welcome appetizer for me. I ordered their lunch special salmon bento box for my main course. Every section has distinct protein, carbohydrates, and vegetables. Perfectly cooked salmon was topped with shredded fried potatoes, and a stir-fried mixture of veggies with a teriyaki sauce. The gyoza had a tasty filling and a crunchy outside. Since the bento box included miso soup and salad, I believe they should replace the cabbage salad with something else. The food was tasty and substantial.

They can get busy and with not too many hands on deck, food and service can come out slowly. It's understandable to a degree, but it does feel like servers rarely come around (through the whole dining experience, our water was never refilled once or even asked to be) and overall service seems subpar at best. Ambiance is great. They definitely have that Japanese izakaya vibe. We were looking for a place for hotpot and were about…read moreto head out to Schaumburg when I remembered this place (and seeing another trusted Elite's glowing review sealed the deal, so thanks, Lina W.!). We came on a weekday around 5:30 and the place was practically empty when we got there and not too busy when we left, either. So when we arrived, they gave us the rundown. It's an all-you-can-eat place for two hours (at least on weekdays--it may be different on weekends or peak hours). You also get to visit the appetizer area, which had a variety of stuff including fried rice, egg rolls, orange chicken or something, and more. There's a sushi area where there were several different types of sushi. Desserts are available as well, and they looked good though we forgot about them. The available veggies and stuff is a smaller selection of choices than some other hot pot restaurants I've been to. But that doesn't mean you'll go hungry. While we were here we got brisket, chicken, calamari, lotus root, broccoli, potatoes, a couple different types of noodles, gyoza, and there was more that we didn't get of course. They have like six different types of hot pot base you can choose from, and you can get refills of that, too, during your 2 hours' time. I got what was described as the "spicy sour" soup base, and my partner got the Szechuan which was described as the spiciest. Everything was excellent, the meal was a great value (~35 per person), though the drinks were a little high. I got a couple peach iced teas and they were $7 a pop, so overpriced but the rest of the meal was so reasonable the cost of the drink was not a big deal. There's lots of parking in the municipal lots, and you might even be able to park in the library lot, so parking shouldn't be an issue. If you're coming from the city or a nearby suburb, it's also a block away from the Des Plaines stop on the UP-NW Metra line. I've already told my sister we're coming back here when she next comes to visit, and I'm looking forward to it.

We were seated immediately and a server came right over. Their first question was to ask if we'd been there before. The second question was if we'd had Hot Pot or Korean Barbeque before. Since we were "pros," she let us know to order on the provided iPad. They also have a few steam tables where you can find things to make a dipping sauce, sushi, fresh fruit, some deserts, and other items. With the name "Galaxy," they have an outer space theme with planets and space suits hanging from the ceiling. Lots of neon lights, too. Fun. We started with Hot Pot, then shifted to Korean Barbeque. We had so many different meats and vegetables I won't even try to recount. Apparently, the menu is more extensive, with better cuts of meat, for dinner. I have to tell you that the meats we had were more than adequate. We ate so much, I'm not sure if there were other choices, if we would change anything. Our server was also great. She was there when we needed her, was very pleasant and helpful and helped make our experience a great one. The food is all included and endless, but you pay extra for drinks. They have a full bar if you are interested (but at noon, it wasn't for us). There is a two-hour time limit, and we hit our fill before time ran out.

They added an enclosed outdoor seating area, Thats lets you enjoy the breeze or sun, but protects you from the rain. It used to be a tent, so this is definitely nicer. My wife and I were seated immediately. The server quickly brought us water and garlic bread. I really like that they give you 5 fairly big pieces of garlic bread for only two people. Nice touch. We were not in a hurry and couldn't decide what we wanted so we started with the calamari salad. $29, but it's huge and chock full of those calamari guys. Lettuce is always crisp and has everything I like in it (olives, eggs, carrots, artichoke, peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, and romaine lettuce). We were almost full just from the salad alone. I ordered a grouper sandwich (not fried), and my lovely wife ordered the Scottish salmon plate, which comes with potatoes and grilled vegetables. My sandwich came with coleslaw and fresh cut fries. They switched to fresh cut since my last visit, and this was an upgrade. My sandwich was great, and huge too. Could not finish it. Wife's meal was a humongous slab of salmon. The veggies now come on a smaller plate, but that's okay, given the size of the fish. Service was a tad slow, but like I said, we weren't in any hurry. Total tab was $100, with tax and that pesky 3% service fee. I really enjoyed the food and the ambiance. It's not a place I can go every week, but when I can splurge, and have a taste for fresh seafood, this is the best around.

But meat just tastes better bbq'd on charcoal, y'na mean? It honestly had been a decade and a half since I went to a proper charcoal KBBQ, so this was super exciting for me. The place had an old facade that was reminiscent of the "old days" for me. Not to say it was run down or anything, but everything from the floorplan to the old tables with charcoal pit installed tables reminded me of the KBBQ era of the 90's and beyond. Loved it! My family went inside way past lunch hour, so the place had cleared out and owners seemed to have been having lunch. The two gentlemen eho greeted us gave out father and son energy, but I couldn't be sure. There was a life sized photo of the oldtimer in a marathon getup hanging on one side of the shop entrance, which he explained was taken a decade ago. I could tell he would have been around my father's age, but seemed super healthy. A pleasant man for sure! It may not necesaarily be a good thing for owners, but I love it when there aren't too many patrons around, because it means that I'll get all the attention I need from them, when I need. It was certainly the case here. They were super attentive when we needed something. To be fair, we knew exactly what we wanted, so it wasn't like we needed to call them every 5 minutes, but it certainly was easy to get their attention when I needed another bottle of beer. :-D My family of three order two servings of marinated galbi, contemplating on whether or not to order my wife's favorite pork belly. In the end, we were too full and were glad we stopped with only two servings. We'll just have to come back to try other meat later. This is ALWAYS a dilemma for my family. All three of us each have our favorites, but none of us can eat a whole serving. We usually end up going with my daughter's favorite every time, unless my wife and I are out by ourselves, which these days is not as often as I'd like. We'll just have to wait a couple more years for her to graduate.. Galbi (short ribs) was GREAT! Not much else to say about it, other than the fact that any meat will taste better when grilled on charcoal. With so many other KBBQs around town with more "hip" and "modern" atmosphere, I don't know how well New Seoul is doing these days, but I certainly hope they do enough business to continue to be around. More and more Korean restaurants are moving away from their traditional way of doing things in order to cater to American audiences. They may not be huge changes, but these subtle changes make people like me and my wife a bit sad because it eats away a little bit of our nostalgia each time we experience some. I hate to sound like an old man about it, but I guess it falls to people like myself to continue to support more of the traditional places like these over the young ones. Anyway, based on just the marinated galbi my family had, I must give them 5 stars!
