Shrimp Tacos

Delicious!!! I was a little weary that they weren't going to be as good as Sushi Ya, but I was soo happy to find out they are even better!! The presentation was gorgeous, and the food tasted even better!! The service was top notch! We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner there and can't wait to go back! The restaurant is little, but don't let the size deter you. It's cutely decorated and still will be a good date place.

Sushi En Lets Go! We missed Sushi Ya & Joe! However with The new Management this place is fabulous again! Thank you for bringing back our "go to" Sushi spot! The place felt warm and inviting from the moment we were greeted! Everything was very clean and great new management. The service was really great and I hope that people catch on to dining in here again! Portions were great and the rolls tasted fabulous!! We will be spreading the word to all our friends!

Kaiseki Bento with Salmon

Absolutely fantastic! I ordered the Kaiseki Bento with Salmon, and it was a feast! The grilled salmon was perfectly cooked--crispy skin with tender, flaky meat. The bento came with miso soup, fresh salad, delicious gyoza, tempura that was light and crispy, and a few California rolls that rounded out the meal beautifully. Great presentation and flavor. Sushi EN has definitely become my new go-to for Japanese lunch and dinner specials!

Well- let's just say he wasn't too warm or welcoming and could barely grunt a greeting. Hmm. We were quickly seated in a very japanese-looking restaurant (a good sign). We ordered two apps - the chicken karaage and the agedashi tofu. I ordered the spicy tonkatsu pork ramen (not on their web menu, but still...). First demerit- my ramen arrived before the apps did. Seriously. Seriously? Me with a main dish and my hubby/friends bereft of food? Oh wow. I didn't touch it until the apps arrived a couple minutes later - finally their mains arrived. Yay. The apps? Well, the chicken karaage was really fried chicken breast meat (no bones; not a prob for me, but hubby - a japanese man by birth- was not impressed). The agedashi tofu was yummy and quite good. Nice! Ok- my ramen was - yes- spicy and oily, as any good ramen should be. The bad part? I could tell the bean sprouts weren't fresh as my sensitive digestive tract let me know - fast- that the sprouts were "not" fresh. Yikes. Not a good thing - hence the demerit. Ok- first- we may come again. But gosh. the workers really need to be a bit happier to be there- or - if they can't be pleasant - keep them out of the public's eye. That would be a big help- after all, this was our first visit- and it wasn't too welcoming - it would have offset the bad sprouts, you know?

They've put the same level of attention and care into their selection of sakes. Service was warm and friendly, but never pushy or bothersome. They sent me a free dessert when they overheard my wife mention it was my birthday, it was a complete surprise. They also very thoughtfully asked if I'd like them to sing (I did not). That kind of thoughtful service reflects the comfortable, laid back atmosphere they've maintained, a welcome change over many high end sushi establishments that can be too stuffy. A few chewy seaweed pieces but I won't let that knock the freshness of the sushi. Service is where I have to drop a star. Not friendly, just pointed to the bar and told us to have a seat. When she came to take our order she didn't greet us or ask about anything besides "what would you like". We ordered 4 rolls which came out fairly quick...one at a time and the last two together. We then asked for 2 more rolled after flagging her down. She kept coughing which was a bit off putting. Assuming she was sick and maybe wasn't feeling well. Eeeeek. I'd go back as the place is close, cozy and quality of sushi was better than others in the area. I also like the options they had which were not the standard as we find around most places in this area. Usually they're similar rolls with different names.

Our friendly waiter Alex made it super easy and guided us thru the ordering process on our phone. Alex made the whole experience a lot of fun and checked on us often. They had a huge variety of Wagyu meat cuts and several broths to select from. All the meats were freshly sliced, presented on chilled platters and easy to work with. The orders came out fast. They had over 15 different sauces to pick from and the greens bar was nicely stocked with common and unique veggies. They had plain, egg and kelp ramen noodles yo add to your broth as well as udon. We liked the shrimp as well as the fried Chicken Nanban & Karaage. The sushi was ok. The warm bar had sautéed asparagus, pizza (for the kids), Takoyaki, beef sukiyaki, curry and other items. The only caveat perhaps with it being a newer location is that our server was subpar. Slow to pick up on cues, did confusing things like take everybody's order but then skipped one person at our table? We were busy talking so we hadn't noticed until he had already left. We had to flag down other servers to get help at various points of our meal since ours seemed to have disappeared at times. Would likely return as it seemed like there were many other competent/friendly staff there. Hoping the service we experienced won't be the norm moving forward.

The two chashu pieces were tender and easy to break apart. Broth was not heavy, it was just right.
