Look at all the lean meat
    Gigi T.

Service was good but the food was just mediocre. All the pictures on the app made the meat look marble-ly with a good mix of fats but it's all pretty lean. The sauces was missing the most important Chinese hot pot sauce - the Chinese bbq sauce. And it didn't offer a variety of bean curd rolls or Asian vegetables. The "premium Wagyu sushi" was way overcooked it was a hard to chew slice of meat on top of a rice ball. Completely ruined the texture of what Wagyu beef should be like.

I had the chance to visit Shabu-Yo with my kids for the first time. We reviewed the courses and ended up choosing the Signature Wagyu Course with tonkotsu broths. Ordering from there is pretty simple as it could be done by scanning the QR code at our table and ordering from my phone. The trays of meat come pretty quickly either by the server or the robot. We tried every meat except for the chicken and enjoyed all of them. We did get items from the hot bar and veggies from the cold bar - but we kept our appetites mostly for the meat and were mindful of filling up on carbs. After finishing up with dinner, we headed to the dessert section to make our own croffles. Unfortunately the soft serve machine was down so we couldn't try that. We will be back when we are in the area again. Come hungry!

I went there with a friend for lunch during Restaurant Week. There was no time limit, and we ended up eating a lot--so many kinds of vegetables, sides, and finishing dishes like noodles and rice. It was fun because you can mix and create your own sauces and dips to suit your taste, which makes the whole experience even more enjoyable. The staff were polite and very kind, and their service left a great impression.

Chicken broth, the meat left scum all over it

For new beginners to hot pot, I believe this place to be a good introduction, but for those who are experienced in hot pot this place is abysmal. My party of 3 ordered the wagyu menu. The veggie stand is nice has everything you need as well as the sauce bar. It even has additional appetizers if you'd like. Here's the problem, the meat quality is terrible, barely enough to pass and we got the "Wagyu" menu. The meat you order is anything but Wagyu, with almost NO marbling to see and taste bland at best. The glitz and glimmer of this place lead you to high expectations but fail at the most essential part of a hot pot, the meat. If you got the basic menu, I believe this place to be satisfactory, but anything beyond that is absolutely NOT worth it.

Here's what you get in return for eating their food with PLASTIC IN IT
    Krisha P.

Incredibly disappointed. We just had lunch here and everything was going well, until I bit into a hard piece of PLASTIC in my food. I should've taken a picture of it. It was at least an inch long, looks like it had broken off of something. I called staff over to notify them and staff quickly took it away to let the manager know. We waited to hear back from them, but instead, they sent another staff who meagerly handed us this pathetic bonus card for the next visit, without even saying anything. NO apologies or anything. We will NOT be back. I'm upset because I actually really liked this place and had been here a few times, but this lack of customer service left such a bad taste in my mouth. Pun intended. They don't care about their guests.

It was soo yummy! It was my boyfriend's first Shabu experience. We both loved the big variety of foods and meats. We went with the $44 classic menu. The alcohol is $15 for a bottle of soju which was a little pricier but it was still delicious . Our waitress was kind and the little robot provided great service!

    My hot pot and fixins
    Ruta P.

This was a fun change. Never did Shabu before and really enjoyed it with my sister. Very large selection of veggies, noodles and tofu, as well as sauces to doctor up your hot pot. The wage was tender and delicious. But the tru shining star was the chicken karagge. Moist, hot seasoned perfectly, scrumptiousness. Do not skip it! The cotton candy was a great finale as well.

Food was okay. In my opinion, the wagyu was a little thick for my liking. If it was just a little thinner, I'd enjoy it. The sauces I found were not as good as Chinese hotpot. Sushi by the way is premade and refrigerated, then when ordered they cut the individual pieces per order. It is not made to order.

    Charmaine D.

Not what I was expecting for some reason. I knew it was an all you can eat, but with two elderly parents I was hoping everything would be ordered from the table. Unfortunately, they had to get up and walk to the buffet area at least once to see what looked good. The whole cooking experience was new for all of us but it was fun.

    Cheyenne P.

We loved the premium cut meats--definitely the highlight of the meal. The Tonkotsu broth was good at first but started smelling burnt because the server didn't come by often to refresh it. The ramen noodles, sauces, and vegetable options were great, and the robot servers were a fun touch. However, the sushi was disappointing, and the staff needed to clear used plates more frequently. The tables were not big enough for all the plates and food. Overall, we enjoyed the experience despite these issues.

How much / head for buffet today?

there are multiple option, so it depends on what you choose

It looks like the seating is maxed out at 4 per table. Do they have seating at one table for more than 4? What is the capacity for a larger group?

Yes, they have a partition between the tables that can be open so that 2 parties of 4 each can see each other. For bigger parties request 2 sets of these table in a row. But there's a aisle between the 2 sets of tables for the servers.

Has any had their crab legs?

Yes, we have 4 courses and Premium Crab Course including all you can eat Snow Crab.

What are the vegetarian and vegan options?

This is really a meat centric style of eating. You could probably fill up on their good selection of vegetables, but your pretty much paying for a steak while eating vegetable soup.

Are there any gluten free options?

There are a few broth options for the hot pot that may be gluten free and the buffet has many vegetable options. There is some sushi options that may also be gluten free but if you have an allergy rather than just a food preference I would suggest… Read more

There's also discrepancy in their menu and what they actually have available as it seems they also display items for the the cafe next door. We happened to arrive during happy hour so some menu items were discounted. They also have a complimentary salad bar. We ordered chicken karaage, potstickers, salmon avocado sushi, and I had the katsu sandwich. All the food items we ordered came separately over a span of 20+ minutes, with the sandwich arriving last and cold. Not only did the sandwich come on a cold sourdough bread, the meat also had an unusual texture and so I ended up throwing it out. The other items we ordered were lacking in flavor. The chicken karaage was prepared well but it had no flavor. I'm regret spending money at this establishment.

So we got out of the car and saw someone pull up in front of the restaurant and jump out at 11:59. As soon as the door was unlocked at 12pm, this customer went in, and a few others after them. This is a small joint, and it was already half full by the time we ordered, then sat down (they told us the table at which to sit). I didn't know, but asked, and found out that a salad bar and miso soup are also included. The salad bar was pretty decent, with fresh vegs. They even had French fried onions (my guilty pleasure) and a very good House dressing (ginger vinaigrette). The portions are enormous. The couple next to us got ramen, and it was practically overflowing. We ordered takoyaki (too much food, we didn't need). I had the Pork Katsu bowl and my companion had a Katsu curry. I wished I had ordered the curry -- it looked dark and rich and thick like pudding (not like a boxed curry). They also gave us a bonus piece of chicken karaage which was so large and crispy. I think I'll get the curry next time, or the ramen. We originally came because we were going to get a karaage sando, but get the curry.

One can sit at a table or the main sushi counter. The night I visited, it was rather slow which allowed staff to thoroughly wait on us. I asked a couple of questions about the menu. Our server explained that the most popular rolls were the Garlic Salmon, Mafia, and Hamachi Truffle. Most premium maki come as 8 rolls with the exception of Pink Flower and Tequila which are served as 6. All rolls are made to order with fresh ingredients. I also loved that they offered three options for veggie rolls as it's still my preference! To start, we ordered both the Lychee-tini and Old Fashioned cocktails. They couldn't have been more different in flavor profiles. The Old Fashioned was spirit forward yet smooth. It had a really nice finishing note that directly came from the Japanese Whiskey used. The Lychee-tini was sweeter and had good flavor. I also loved that there was actually a lychee at the bottom of the glass. For mains, my husband got the Mafia and Hamachi Truffle rolls per the staff's recommendation. He explained that the Mafia rolls were more of a mild heat. He preferred the Hamachi Truffle roll as it had a more unique and depth of flavor. I got the Black Garden roll without the jalapeño. I loved the freshness of the rolls and thoroughly enjoyed the veggies mixed with the sauce it had. We both agreed that all rolls tasted like they were made with premium, high quality ingredients. Once we finished, the chef came out to ask how we liked everything. Kaido's service level was amazing with staff clearing plates, refilling water, checking in on how we were doing, and just making sure we had the best dining experience. The details didn't go unnoticed and makes perfect sense why they have such an amazing Yelp score! Highly recommend visiting Kaido Sushi and looking forward to my next visit!

Well- let's just say he wasn't too warm or welcoming and could barely grunt a greeting. Hmm. We were quickly seated in a very japanese-looking restaurant (a good sign). We ordered two apps - the chicken karaage and the agedashi tofu. I ordered the spicy tonkatsu pork ramen (not on their web menu, but still...). First demerit- my ramen arrived before the apps did. Seriously. Seriously? Me with a main dish and my hubby/friends bereft of food? Oh wow. I didn't touch it until the apps arrived a couple minutes later - finally their mains arrived. Yay. The apps? Well, the chicken karaage was really fried chicken breast meat (no bones; not a prob for me, but hubby - a japanese man by birth- was not impressed). The agedashi tofu was yummy and quite good. Nice! Ok- my ramen was - yes- spicy and oily, as any good ramen should be. The bad part? I could tell the bean sprouts weren't fresh as my sensitive digestive tract let me know - fast- that the sprouts were "not" fresh. Yikes. Not a good thing - hence the demerit. Ok- first- we may come again. But gosh. the workers really need to be a bit happier to be there- or - if they can't be pleasant - keep them out of the public's eye. It's not fancy sushi, but it always hits the spot. I love that when you order nigiri from the screen, you can choose between regular rice or less rice. It's a great option if you don't want to fill up too quickly on rice. One thing to keep in mind with conveyor belt sushi is that you're charged per plate, and it adds up fast. Most plates are $3.85 and usually come with two pieces. If you're a big eater, I'd recommend an AYCE sushi spot instead. I'd also suggest going with an even number of people since many items come with two pieces per plate. On our most recent visit, my boyfriend and I ordered various nigiri plates, along with a bowl of shrimp tempura udon and their warabimochi dessert. Sushi Edo absolutely lived up to the hype!…read more I went on a Friday around lunchtime with a party of 8, coworkers who would NOT stop raving about this place and my husband, who also acted like this sushi restaurant personally changed his life. Of course, we all know how "you HAVE to try this place!" recommendations can go... so I had to judge for myself. Well... they were right. First off, the restaurant was not crowded at all for a Friday lunch, which was great because they were able to accommodate our large group immediately without any issues. The staff was incredibly friendly from the moment we walked in and stayed attentive the entire time, constantly refilling drinks and checking on us without being overbearing. Now let's talk food... because apparently our table collectively decided we were preparing for hibernation. We ordered EVERYTHING in sight. Sushi rolls, appetizers, specialty items , if it was on the menu, there's a good chance it somehow ended up on our table. At one point they delivered this massive sushi boat that honestly deserved its own entrance music. It was fantastic. The sushi itself was fresh, flavorful, and generously sized. None of those tiny little "one bite and it disappeared" rolls you get at some places. These were actual decent-sized rolls packed with flavor and fresh ingredients. Every appetizer we tried was delicious too, and you could tell the food was coming out quickly and efficiently because there were several sushi chefs working behind the counter nonstop. One unexpected bonus was the FREE self-serve ice cream. Yes please. My husband spent the entire week talking about how amazing the matcha flavor usually is, but unfortunately they didn't have it when we went. They only had strawberry and vanilla with the swirl option, which honestly was still really good. It's more of a water-based soft serve than creamy dairy ice cream, but it was refreshing and a fun little ending to the meal. The restaurant itself was also very clean and organized, which always makes a difference for me, especially at sushi spots. One thing to keep in mind: they do charge per piece/order of sushi, so if you go in starving like we did and start aggressively pointing at menu items, your bill can climb quickly. If you don't finish them. Overall, Sushi Edo was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Great atmosphere, fresh sushi, fast service, friendly staff, and enough food to make you question your life choices in the best possible way. Definitely earned a 5/5 from me, and I'll absolutely be back. All you can eat lunch was $25/pp can't beat that! Will be back, and check them out please!
