Noodle deli is a small business that you can tell has immense passion for food and serving customers! The food is amazing every dish was fresh and flavorful. It kept making me want more food! I would highly recommend the tofu skin and vegetables ( this has peanuts if you have a nut allergy please be mindful ), I also recover the cumin lamb, and the Dan Dan noodles! The service was good. Given it's a small business one had to be patient but, I feel it's worth it! The ambiance was great! I like the decor and how clean the space was. Had great lunch at this Asian restaurant in Hoffman Estates. It has a kind of confusing order system if you're eating inside. Noodle Deli is one of this area's many authentic restaurants. A lot more than just noodles of course. The prices are kind of high but you get a lot. Coming in here it was confusing because there wasn't anyone at the front. It's one of those places you seat yourselves and scan the QR codes to order. The menu is mostly meaty stuff. Had to make a few changes to our items. The server came out to confirm these. It's about $15 for the Biang Biang Noodles. We got them to replace the beef with tofu. Finally got it and it was great. This also has bok choy, chili powder, garlic, and oil so there was a spiciness. Get really authentic Asian food here. It's closed Tuesdays. This is one of those places that closes between lunch and dinner and this is even on weekends. read more

Noodle deli is one of those spots you wish you had found earlier because it is that good. We ordered the Mongolian beef biang biang noodle and dan dan noodles. It was one of, if not the best hand-pulled noodle spots I have ever had (and this was also eating at home since we did a carry out). The family that runs this restaurant are incredibly friendly and they have also clearly mastered their craft as they make all their noodles in-house to perfection. Pretty surprised to find this totally on accident. Didn't have high hopes given the name, but really feels like walked into mainland China, with their QR code ordering system and payment all in app, very convenient. The noodles were served in super big bowls. All of the noodles were very good, springy and QQ (iykyk). The beef noodle soup had nice cuts of beef the ones with tendon so the muscle fibers were short and easier to chew through. Also had firm age tofu slices to soak up the broth. The staff all spoke fluent mandarin and really helpful and friendly. They suggested the wide noodle with their biang biang sauce with beef and scallion, it's a dry sauce/oil based dish. The noodles were so very wide and QQ, the widest noodles I've ever seen. Flavor is very good but also a bit spicy. Husband wanted cumin lamb, we had low expectations given that it is a noodle shop, but the flavor, cumin seed and spices as well as the meat are all on point. Both the lamb and beef were tender. We were unsure of what to get because we are vegetarians. She took the time to explain the dishes in detail, told us the modifications she'd make, she even added extra vegetables without asking! This place came highly recommended from one of my friends, but I was always wary because of how the windows are all covered up. What are they hiding anyway?? But one Friday we decided to give it a shot. We used to live near Chinatown in the city and were greatly missing good Szechuan food. While there are good Chinese places around Schaumburg, we were missing that numbing spicy flavor profile. But we found it here at Noodle Deli! I appreciate that you simply order your food on an app and you don't have to wait for your server, but we had pretty great service anyway. We were consistently checked in on and when our biang biang noodles came out, our server offered to mix it up while we focused on feeding our toddler. I will say, there aren't many options here for a toddler, or anyone who's wary of spicy foods. We went with the beef stew tofu which worked well enough and was not spicy, but this place isn't catering to people afraid of heat. The biang biang noodles were great - they had a good chew, and just the right amount of heat. We also got the cumin lamb which is a must get. It was savory, a little sweet from the peppers, not too gamey, and had us sweating. I will come back here for this dish alone. Ambience is alright...again, it's very weird the windows are all covered up, but there's some nice art on the wall. The food was so good and tasted fresh. The server was nice and attentive. The location is a little hidden so be on the lookout.

A mixed experience for me. A few things that will warrant a return trip and some things they could improve on. The best thing about this restaurant is definitely their noodles. They make at least 5 of them from scratch and it's clear that it's fresh and tasty. These dishes are their best by far, including the biang biang noodles which are very wide but also thin enough to be like a ribbon. The garlic chili oil isn't too spicy and mixes well with the beef. The sichuan beef noodle was also nice, with a slightly spicy broth and fresh vegetables. The beef itself was quite tender with a good portion size and both came in a huge bowl. The Beef chow fun was pretty solid as well, with a good chewy and slightly firm texture to the noodles and tender flank steak surrounding it. The non-noodle dishes we tried were a bit on the small side. Not bad in flavor, but not really standout either. The cumin lamb had the fat rendered out pretty well and tender meat, but wasn't really as flavorful as I was hoping for. The twice cooked pork similiarly had the meat cut quite thin and an almost bacon like flavor, but in comparison to the ones I've had at places like Mapo, Xi'an Cuisine, and Asian Bistro - it was a bit on the mild side. The orange chicken was also only alright, there was a little hint of citrus in the sauce but the meat wasn't the most tender nor was it really super crispy. The service was alright here, enough to get by but not as good as other restaurants nearby. With the QR code scanning and payment, you won't see too much service outside of them delivering food to the table. Though the interior is not too fancy, they do have some nice themed decorations on the walls which match the noodles theme of the restaurant. Overall, the noodles here are definitely the specialty and the other dishes are a bit inconsistent in quality, with portion sizes a bit on the smaller side and flavorings a bit on the mild side. Bumping it up a little due to the made-from-scratch items and specialty offerings but there are better offerings available nearby. read more

I love small, family run Asian restaurants. This one specializes in noodles both dry and in soup. But today I needed a stir fry I had Shanxi Guo-You Pork. This is a traditional home style dish from Shaanxi Province. Pork stir fried with wood ear mushrooms, carrots, leeks and onions is a deeply savory sauce. It is served with rice. The woman who served me was one of the owners and she was happy to chat about the dish. I'll definitely return. The bowls of noodle soup are huge. I was craving for Szechuan peppercorn spicy noodles soup, but it would be silly to make the drive to Bridgeport for just noodle...recalled this place may have it. The knife cut noodles is good! I wonder if they handmade it but the rest of the noodles dish is just ok. The soup was lukewarm, flavor is there, but it could be a bit spicier and a bit more flavorful. My husband and I met a few friends at Noodle Deli. All of the ordering is done through a QR code on the table. We had the chicken chow fun, orange chicken, cumin flavored lamb, triple cooked pork, Sichuan Beef Noodle, and Biang Biang Noodles. The orange chicken was very flavorful and fragrant with real orange peel. The triple cooked pork was fantastic. It was thin and tasted very much like bacon. The cumin lamb was too spicy for me to review. The noodles were made fresh and were very bouncy. The beef was tender but lacked flavor. There was not much beef in the noodle dishes. The food was good but wasn't bursting with flavor, which I can find elsewhere pretty easily. The service and adequate and the restaurant was on the cold side (on a windy February night). One of my buddies who is a yelp elite recommended we try out noodle delight. It's a smaller hole in the wall restaurant but don't let that fool you! It was an incredible experience! The size was pretty small for the price you paid, it was $13.50, it was filled mostly with cooked lettuce and bean sprouts on the bottom, we got about 5 pieces of fish! We had the Dan Dan Noodles, $9.50, the noodles were tasty but not what I had expected! Our last entree was the Beef Stew Tofu $12.50, it was small but the tofu and the beef was very soft and tasty, this was my favorite. There's a QR code where you scan it with your phone and the menu comes up and you can order from there! This was nice, I didn't have to touch the menu at all! Would give this place 0 stars if I could. It doesn't matter how good the food is if you don't actually get what you ordered. I ordered take away from here three times and they messed it up everytime. The first, they gave away one of my dishes to the customer before me and then tried to chase them down. The second, they made one of my dishes with the wrong protein (fish instead of chicken). The third, I had to wait 30+ minutes after they told me the food would be ready. When they quote you a time for when the the food will be ready expect to wait 20-30 minutes pass that. They think they can run the whole restaurant with 2 people - one person manning the front desk, bringing out the food, answering the phone, and seating guests while the other person is the chef. This place is pretty decent in terms of food and price. Tried the Tomato Beef Noodle Soup, Roasted Beef Noodle Soup, Tofu with King Mushrooms, Sichuan Beef Noodle Soup, and Garlic Bok Choy. The three noodle soups I tried kind of all tasted the same at first but had subtle differences- the beef noodle soup was more savory, depth, and rich, and the sichuan was a little more spicy than the others. The bok choy was fresh, and the tofu was crispy. The portions are pretty big in my opinion, and I love all the different toppings they had on it- all the veggies are great for different textures and sweetness. Anti-Chinese discrimination associated to the coronavirus is hurting Chinese businesses across the United States. This is devasting small restaurants like Noodle Deli and other local businesses that are seeing less customers due to the pandemic. It's a shame because Noodle Deli is one of my favorite hidden gems in Hoffman Estates - it's one of the few local Chinese restaurants offering authentic Sichuan cuisine at completely reasonable prices. I was there the other day ordering my new favorite noodle dish (Sichuan cold spicy noodles) and the restaurant was completely empty. To boost my immune system, I've been taking daily vitamins and eating vitamin rich foods like ginger, garlic, tomatoes, and bone broths. All of these ingredients can be found in Noodle Deli's beef and tomato noodle soup where the noodles are handmade. Their noodles and dumplings have really satisfied my cravings lately especially since going on food adventures in Chinatown have been put on hold due to COVID-19. In the meantime, I'll be supporting small businesses and family owned restaurants in Schaumburg and Hoffman Estates. First time there and we went there for lunch. No lunch menu. Dinner menu only. We ordered spicy diced chicken, spicy noodle platter, and potstickers. Food was ok. I have had better spicy diced chicken. However the service was extremely slow. Even when we first arrived there was no one there to greet us. We stood at the entrance for about 5-10 minutes before the waitress greeted us and invited us to take a seat at an empty booth. Then we scanned the menu QR code using our phones. Shortly after we placed our order and waited quite a bit for the food. The menu did indicate that the spicy noodle platter and potstickers take longer to prepare so we expected that. Tried this place for the first time last Thursday with my wife, and we were happy with our meal. We had the cumin lamb, beef stomach, and a beef noodle soup. The lamb had just the right amount of spice to it - hot but not hot enough to distract from the taste. The noodles were delicious, and it was the first time we had seen that type of flat noodles - despite my several trips to China on business. We felt adventurous enough to try the stomach, and we're glad we did. The fish caserolle is SO GOOD! Super impressive about this dish. This is the most delicious fish caserolle I've ever had in the US!! I will definitely go back for this dish! We also ordered the beef noodle soup. One is roasted beef sirloin and another the roasted tender. the noodle is good, broth is decent; beef is only okay. The size of the noodle soup is large; I couldn't finish but my husband did and felt very stuffed. Been here quite a few times now, but I've been waiting to write my review for here after trying out a few more things. So far, things haven't been super consistent (sometimes we feel like we get a lot more food, sometimes less, sometimes things are more spicy than the previous time, etc), but I found my favorites anyway. My favorite dish here: fish casserole. A weird name in my opinion because I never got this since it sounded like some American casserole that is baked in an oven. After a friend recommended it, we're glad we tried it. It's really the hot oil fish that we've gotten in other restaurants. Tried it non spicy once so our kids could eat it....no good. But tried it with its regular spiciness and loved it. It was a little less spicy than we've had at other restaurants (which we liked), plenty of fish (though a surprise bed of cabbage below that tricks you into thinking there's even more fish), and great taste. It's also not really bathing in red hot oil soup where you have to fish to find the fish. Not as liquid-y as we've seen it at other places. 2/3 times we loooved it, but the third time is was a little too spicy for us, but still good. We also like the tomato egg with sliced noodle (they homemake their sliced noodle, a plus). An interesting homemade comfort food type of feel. Their seafood noodle soup is decent as well, but not as good as chef pings, I'd say. Not as much seafood in it. We've also tried this sliced pancake with pork. Kind of an interesting dish...basically green onion pancake sliced into noodle thin pieces and fried like a dry noodle. The green onion pancake by itself we didn't particularly like, a bit too thick for us. Beef noodle soup wasn't a favorite for us either. Not the same taste as the Taiwanese beef noodle soup that we're used to. Prices are really good, which makes the meal even better.
