This one is better than the one in DT CHICAGO. Ample parking; fast and attentive service. I feel like it has more selection here

MingHin Cuisine is the best dim sum restaurant outside Chicago. My husband and I joined some friends there for lunch. We ordered a lot of food. We had the shrimp dumpling, siu mai, shrimp dumpling pea tip, country style dumpling, pork dumpling peanuts, BF ball, short rib with honey sauce, baked BBQ pork turnover, deep fried shrimp roll, fried veggie pork bun, crab meat seaweed roll, shrimp crepe, baked creamy egg yolk bun, baked BBQ pork bun, and the BBQ pork bun. It was all good and is all freshly made in their kitchen. I highly recommend MingHin Cuisine for great dim sum.

MingHin is a staple for me in Chicago. I usually go to the downtown or chinatown locations, so this is the first time in the burbs. I almost think it's better - this just might be my bias coming from SoCal as it reminds me of home dimsum spots a bit. Everything was really legit/delicious. Not a miss at all. I brought friends who had never had dimsum before and they enjoyed it. All the regular dishes such as shu mai, char siu bao (they have both the steamed and baked), shrimp dumplings were really fresh and good! I also tried a couple new things too like the honeycomb tripe with daikon, the pork spare ribs with rice rolls. Parking is a dedicated lot, super easy lots of spots - like expected in the burbs!

Any time I visit it is very busy and always consistent. The food is so delicious and nothing ever really disappoints. I absolutely love the beef stir fried rice noodles, the shrimp fun rolls, shrimp hargow and any of the shrimp dumplings tbh. Whatever we ordered was all delicious and I would highly recommend to go for a nice dinner or lunch. Its beautifully decorated inside and is very clean, the staff is very attentive, easy to order on tablet on the table, and food comes out fairly quickly. Great for family dinners, date night, with friends, etc.

Wow it's been 8 years since I wrote my last review. Minghin is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants and that has not changed. They still have a great selection of food, from dim sum, seafood, beef, and chicken dishes. Great location for large groups as the restaurant is huge. We had reservations for 20 people last night and it was not a problem. We took up 2 tables of 10 people each, right next to each other. Restaurant is always nice and clean and the lighting is always good. Service is pretty fast as well. We ordered a lot of food and it comes out within a matter of 10-15 minutes. Also plenty of parking out in the lot. Great restaurant and great location.

Great place to get dim sum in the suburbs. Get all the rewards of authentic Chinese dim sum without all the hassle of driving into the city. A few of the standouts has to the pork siu mai, roast duck & the fried roasted pork cubes that has a sugar salt dipping mixture. I luv that the waitstaff kept refilling the hot teapot and water glasses continuously. I wanted to highlight the restaurant is light, bright and airy and has a beautiful chilulyesque chandelier over the bar. The space seems thoughtfully curated with contemporary Chinese decor!! Chinese Lions greet you as you enter the establishment! Overall a really solid dim sum experience.

09/28/25 - My buddy hosted a dinner for his mom's 88th birthday. Now I have gone to other event hosted by my friend & I knew it was going to be a special extravagant event that would spare no expense. In Chinese culture, the 88th birthday is considered particularly significant due to the number 8 being associated with good fortune and prosperity. The pronunciation of the number 8 (八, "bā") is similar to the word for wealth or fortune (发, "fā"). As a result, reaching the age of 88 is often celebrated as a milestone, symbolizing not only longevity but also a blessing of wealth and good luck. We were among the fortune to be present for this event. The 88th Birthday Celebration was quite an event w/3 stages starting w/8 different dim sum dishes filled by 8 different entrees & finished w/8 different desserts. Happy 88th Birthday to your mom & thank you for an awesome memory & dinner When we were allowed to be seated there was a section of 10 tables for our group w/88 people waiting for a spectacular meal. There was a printed card on the table that showed us where we were to be seated along w/a a laminated sheet w/a picture of his mom 88th birthday celebration. On the flip side the same card he had a printed menu of the items to be served both in English & Chinese. There were 8 different dim sum dishes, 8 main entry dishes & 8 dessert items. We all sat there licking our chops waiting for the extravaganza to be begin. To start the swarm of servers came buzzing about bringing the bringing the different dim sum dishes out as the starving vultures attacked the food. This was followed by 8 entrees & 8 desserts (SEE ATTACHED MENU). The service was very good as the food was brought out to each table (no small task) Overall the dinner & service was simply amazing

First time trying this location, I've been to their other location in downtown. This place is huge! Came on a Wednesday night and partook in the "weekday happy hour" for 20% off my order. Food was tasty but not fresh. We could tell that everything was premade...some wrappers were gummy, pastries were a little dry, meat was chewy. Shrimp dumplings were large and filling was tasty but the wrappers just fell apart. I would have given it 4 or 5 rating if I had come on the weekend and the dumplings were fresh. You order from the iPad and servers bring you hot tea.

We get MingHin occasionally when we are craving some authentic Cantonsese Chinese food. However the food we got today was a bit of a miss. For the Steamed Scallop and Vermicelli with Garlic (6 pcs), we asked for no chilies on top, but they ignored that request. They also used cheap bay scallops on top of sea scallop shells which seems like a bait and switch. Their pastries like egg tarts were also stale and not fresh. Disappointing considering how expensive they've gotten lately. Probably will not return until they fix some of these issues.

I was in town for a wedding and visiting family, my flight back unfortunately was cancelled. But the silver lining: I got to eat one additional meal with family and got to try this place. My family and I ordered some items off the dimsum menu (they have dimsum all day) as well as regular dishes. We ordered so many things I don't quite remember all that we got, but that I can recall: squid, snow peas, shrimp chow fun, ha gow, Chinese broccoli (?), seafood tofu bowl. For dessert: pineapple custard buns, sesame balls. I was thoroughly impressed by all the food. The veggies were all cooked really well (not raw and not overcooked) and had light but flavorful seasoning. The hagow had nice big shrimp chunks inside. The dessert buns were also very delicious as well, and I think come in perfect sizes. The service is pretty quick and the inside has fancy/luxurious Chinese-style decoration inside with a flare of modern.

I want to MingHin today for their happy hour. There were hardly any cars in the parking lot. This used to be one of my favorite restaurants as of recently it has gone down tremendously the quality of food the taro puff, and the shrimp eggroll was very good. The beef chow fun had no flavor. The beef was very thick and tough. I think they just reheated the meat and then throwing some noodles Very bland. I tried the Hong Kong clams no sauce very dry. We also had the pea pod flower with Japanese tofu, that was good. The rice seemed old tepid. The service is lacking not sure if I'll be back. I hope they improve their food because there's not a lot of dim sum in the suburbs.

We were in the area and our friend brought us to this restaurant. There's a dim sum menu and a regular menu. We ordered off both. The dim sum was good, especially the shrimp crepe (cheong fun) & the xiao long bao. The chicken feet (fung chow) also had a sweet kick to it. We were surprised by how tasty the short ribs with honey sauce were. Good choice! 2:30-5:30pm 20% discount! The parking lots is huge. Lots of space. The restaurant is beautifully decorated- very nice with a high class vibe.

MingHin in Rolling Meadows has been our go-to spot for dim sum and Chinese cuisine for several years now. We're truly fortunate to have such an authentic and high-quality restaurant right here in the suburbs. Whether it's a casual weekend lunch or a special celebration, we've visited countless times for all kinds of occasions. The restaurant is bright, clean, and tastefully decorated--a comfortable blend of traditional and modern elements that creates a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for any gathering. Whenever our friends from out of state come to visit, a dim sum lunch at MingHin is a must. We always arrive right when they open at 11:00 a.m. (to avoid the long line if you come during the peak time from 12 to 1), and often linger until 2:00 p.m., catching up over delicious bites. No one ever seems to mind our long stay. The four of us usually get seated at a six-person table in a semi-private area, mainly because we order way too much food every time and we need a big table top! The staff are always friendly and accommodating, which adds to the experience. Most recently, we celebrated my sister-in-law's birthday there with a banquet-style dinner. All the dishes were pre-ordered (see photos), and everything was outstanding. The standout dish of the night was a lightly battered, deep-fried Chilean sea bass - not even on the regular menu. It was served piping hot, incredibly fresh, and full of flavor. To top it off, we were each given a complimentary warm Lava Salted Egg Yolk Bun, though some of us had to take them home--we were too full to enjoy them on the spot! Special thanks to manager Raymond and captain Wing, who always go out of their way to make guests feel welcome. In summary: * Food: 4 to 5 stars * Service: Solid 5 stars * Ambience: 4.5 stars We'll definitely keep coming back for our dim sum cravings and special Chinese meals. MingHin continues to be a place that feels like home.

My wife, her mom, and I were in Chicago to remember my father-in-law's death anniversary, and my sister-in-law chose Chef Ping's, for our party of nine for a Wednesday lunch. Parking is plentiful and the dining area can seat a lot. We got seated at a large round table in the back room, with a large lazy susan (just need to remember to spin it very slowly). We ordered a lot, and the food came out slowly. There was plenty of leftovers for the local folks to have for future meal or two. 3 Shrimp Toast (6 pieces each) - $26.85 - greasy but good, with the shrimp paste being a little sweet (in a good way) Noodle in Black Bean Sauce ($12.50) - this is jja jang myeon, which two of us had the previous night. It was OK, not near the top of the best I've had. Ping's Noodle Soup ($15.50) - the other classic Chinese-Korean dish, this is jjampong, a dish I've had many times. I was the only one to eat it, so ended up being my main dish. It was good, with thick noodles...just wish it had more seafood. Salt & Pepper Smelt ($16.90) - not sure if always available, but this was excellent...my favorite dish and one that I finished once I realized that everybody had their fill. It really depends on the quality of the smelt, which was excellent in this case. It was lightly battered, and carefully deep fried. Other dishes enjoyed by others: 2 Salt & Pepper Prawns - $35.90 - large head-on shell-on prawns fire wokked. Then the other server that brought our entrees spilled my husbands tea and again no offering to getting a fresh cup. We had to ask AGAIN for a fresh cup! While the portions were generous, the quality of all the food has gone way down. The special family recipe of thier shrimp dish Gan Pong is nothing but fried shrimp with dried chili peppers and no flavor. The Hunan spicy beef and chicken appeared to be all globs and sticky because of excessive and over use of corn starch used during the cooking process. This dish didn't have any unique flavor that one would expect. Previously we had experienced a difference in the food, taste and quality and that's what kept us returning. What's also unique was the fact that they kept their soup spoons and their regular spoons and chopsticks in this wooden box and then another peculiarity was you had to get the condiments of basil chili pepper bean sprouts and lime up in a tray versus for them to bring it to you. The line in the basil didn't seem that fresh which is why I was a little disappointed other than that it was okay. I'm in love. Seriously, I'm in love. I have been looking for a place that offered dim sum and…read moredumplings for a while now (ever since I experienced them at Din Tai Fung and Dough Zone in Seattle) and I can honestly say that Seriously Sanji is a great place. My wife told me there was a dumpling place in Northbrook and took me there for a late lunch the other day. I know that she's not a fan of dumplings, but "took one for the team" and brought me there. We just ordered basic beverages, her a water and I a Coke Zero. She then ordered Pad Thai and I ordered chicken soup dumplings and chicken sanji. The pad thai came out first and it was a huge portion. She barely put a dent into it and it became two additional meals later. She said it was different than other places she's had it and that it was good, but different. I noticed the chicken pieces were huge chunks and the sauce had a little kick to it and wasn't thick, but it was tasty. I first got the chicken soup dumplings. Man, they were good. They're larger than the ones I've had at Din Tai Fung and The Dough Zone, but they sure are delicious. And since I prefer not to drive into the city and spend over an hour on the road to get downtown, to go find some other dumpling/dim sum place; I'm happy there's a great place in the suburbs near me. They rival the other two mentioned previously. Their sauces are great, the dumplings are great. The sanji was delicious. Heck, that's in their darn name. All of it was good. And this is my go to place in the suburbs now. The place is a cute. As you enter the vestibule, there's a dumpling with a body welcoming you in. The place is just all black and red and you wait to be seated. There is a container with chopsticks on each table, but the napkin is wrapped around a fork (most places you have to ask for a fork, so this is a nice change). I could use a knife for the sanji as they are quite big, but it's not a problem eating them without. Our server was very nice and helpful. There's really no place in the north to northwest suburbs that serves this type of food and you'd be foolish to skip it. I'll see you there soon. I'll be the one making the yummy sounds.

The food is consistently delicious, the service wonderful, and it always makes me feel special when Terry greets me at the restaurant! There are tables accessible at the time I eat dinner, haha, but they fill up later! The restaurant is dark and quiet and the bathroom is clean. We're a bibimbap family--chicken and pork, respectfully. Sometimes in a hot stone bowl, sometimes not. The buns, japchae, and assorted bonchon are all delicious, too. I prefer the aioli sauce over the traditional sauce on my bibimbap. I still remember how during COVID Terry had the ability to donate meals to thank the frontline workers. Also, one time, something was missing from my delivery order and Terry himself drove it to my house to apologize! Those are the offerings and moments that make a giant difference. Overall, I am always happy with the food, service, and love supporting a small, local business!

This is not Korean BBQ where you get a plate of raw meat and cook it at the table; if you want that kind of "interactive dining experience," head up to Vernon Hills, Ttowa has the experts in the kitchen to do the work for you (not to mention, better than most of us ever could). Did I mention the dak buns? Just to be sure: Dak Buns!!!
