If I could give this place less than one star, I would. I placed an online order for delivery which goes through a third-party delivery company and one hour and thirty minutes later the food never arrived. The delivery driver would not answer his phone and the restaurant would not take any responsibility for the driver that was unable to find my location, which was a very large hotel only a mile away from the restaurant. I called the restaurant back three times and they were very nasty with me on the phone. I would not recommend this place. read more

Noticed NEW items under "asian" listing. Decided to try Seafood Chowmein to see if they did anything new, daring, or ethnic. NO, it was just a really good chowmein over vermicelli. Disappointed to see crab stix or surimi still being used. Oh well. Egg rolls were good too!! read more

I wanted to give the food 4.5 stars. It's very good. But I'm absolutely pissed that we ordered takeout, drove 35 minutes back home to find hey didn't give us what we ordered. They left out one persons food from the order "Mongolian beef". How do you let customers leave without checking that you got all their food in the bag? read more

We have had several Chinese restaurants in our area that have come and gone. This restaurant is the best one around. Lately this is our go to place for Chinese food. Big portions AND the food is some of the best we have had. There are only a couple of tables to eat in, but they are very quick for orders for pickup. Would highly recommend this Chinese restaurant for takeout food!!! read more

Sizzling Wok has become our go-to for ordering deliver. It isn't far from our home, but when we feel lazy, their food is very good. We have tried a variety of items. The portions are huge. They offer an extra large size now. We've never tried it since the large portion is more than enough. (We are on the smaller size). I don't have anything to point out as better than other items. And since we've ordered from there a few times, I don't remember everything. I do recall getting Hot and Sour Soup, Egg Rolls, Spare Ribs, Curry Chicken, Kung Pao Beef, Pork Egg Foo Young, and more. The food has always been good. Delivery, on the other hand, has had a few problems. THIS IS NOT THE RESTAURANT'S FAULT! I think they use DoorDash for delivery. But, as a result, we plan to pickup the food on our own. If they have tables, we'll eat there. read more

This was a very pleasant surprise. We randomly found this place on yelp while traveling home and it looked decent so we tried it out. In some ways, it's what you'd expect from your average/above average Chinese takeout establishment. In other ways, it sets itself apart, such as: -a crab Rangoon and egg roll come free with each dinner entree -each dinner entree comes with chicken fried trice (delicious, I might add) -if you check in on yelp, you get a free order of 6 small spring rolls -the portions are huge. My wife and I easily got two meals out of each of our entrees. -food tastes great and cheaper than other entrees around! For the value especially, you really can't beat this place. Very personable staff. They kept a clean environment during covid and required masks to enter. They do not allow for indoor seating currently, but they do offer takeout and delivery services. Looking for a new place - this did not disappoint. We tried Beef with. Broccoli, shrimp fried rice. My husband liked the egg rolls.

Any time we order from here it has been very good. Never disappoints. Very friendly staff.

The order was incomplete, and when I called, they stated that I could ask Grub hub for a refund. that did not help the fact that we were missing half our meal. The sampler platter was not very good, and we threw away half the platter. The General Tso's chicken was flavorless. Food is good. Service, not so much. First, we ordered online via website. Confirmation email said order would be ready in 20 minutes. On arrival, my teen was told that online ordering doesn't work. It should be removed from the website then. My kid placed the same order in person. It took an hour to prepare. During the wait, an obnoxious group came in maskless, complaining and bullying staff. First time visitor to this place since I was staying in a hotel nearby and Yelp reviews were glowing. Ordered shrimp fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, bbq pork lo-mein, dumplings, egg rolls, and egg drop soup. Most items were large size and plenty of food for four people. There is an option to order "small". Like another Yelper, I don't feel comfortable giving negative reviews to small mom and pop places like this one. I am just honestly sharing that the food was just somewhat "okay". The fried rice (bland) and sweet and sour chicken were a bit "mushy". Bbq pork was "tough" but the noodles were very good and flavorful. Egg drop soup was way too salty and uneatable. Dumplings are very large but the dough was a bit off. We barely ate all the food we ordered. I am not one for wasting food, so hopefully it will taste better as leftovers. Sometimes it's like that. My advice to those visiting the first time is is to try out a combo small plate to see if its to your liking, or order small. Just like with latin food, everyone has their own way of cooking traditional dishes. What is considered delicious to one may not to another. Mongolian Beef Lunch special is the perfect cooked tenderness of beef. Not too soggy/mushy or too hard. The vegetables onions and carrots with the beef was just good balance between protein and meat. I enjoyed it. Its not breaded at all. The owners were very kind and made sure people were happy with their food. I believe this is a great old school joint as the vegetable fried rice reminded me of eating at an old friends house homemade as it was not over seasoned or salted as I dont like it salty. Like alot of places do their rice. The egg roll had the unique taste of sour to it I am sure it had shrimp in it and also peanut butter. Its the good balance for many people taste . Perfectly fried all around. Did not lose its shape when bit into it. Only downside is no homemade sauce for the egg roll. Definitely will be back! read more

New Owners June 2018! I've been following the Woo family's restaurants for many years. It all stared with Lin's Garden in the "old neighborhood" (Chicago's NW side Devon/Milwaukee). They moved to an outpost in Elk Grove under the name "Peking Express" several years ago but closed for some time. Now they are back at Sizzling Wok and it's better than ever. I can't honestly review everything because I'm absolutely HOOKED on the Mongolian Beef. I usually order it medium-spicy but if you are faint of heart, order it without. It's amazingly flavorful either way and a must if you love onions (white and green), as I do. Before I go any further, let's address the egg roll situation: they are out of this world. Have you ever had the kind of egg rolls with a hint of peanut butter in them? These are to die for. I moved out of state for a few years and craved these the most. They also have 5 Star Rangoon's. Want actual chicken in your chicken fried rice? You'll get it here. An order of chicken fried rice is a meal in itself (probably for two days). Easy on the egg, just enough spices and enough chicken makes the fried rice a must. Atmosphere: there are some tables to sit and eat at but it's mostly takeout. Don't Let that fool you, this is the absolute best of the best. I've gotten to know this family over the years and they are great people. They take great care and pride in their food and they don't disappoint. I'm so glad they are back! I hope to someday try out some more dishes so I can speak for the rest of the menu! read more

Update: we ordered again for NYE, this time a much larger order, and we have to praise Sizzling Wok on their consistently good food -- but also, we appreciate their thoroughness and the honest service. Our delivery driver only grabbed one of the bags (out of three), and Sizzling Wok found our number and called us to let us know to tell the driver to turn around. They were very upset because they'd been working on our larger order, and the driver did not grab it all. Thanks to their phone call, we were able to get the driver turned around to grab the whole order before the food went cold. 5/5 every time. Thank you. read more

I was so surprised at how delicious this food was! Their dining room was closed, but the man who helped us was very kind! I got the orange chicken lunch special, and my mom got the sweet and sour chicken lunch special, and they were DELICIOUS! Definitely a steal for $8 a person. We called in a large order of shrimp fried rice. When we got there to pick it up after the 10 minute wait, it was all bagged and ready for us. The waiter was very polite and the service was great! Today, I ordered with Uber eats. Orange chicken, chicken lo mein, chicken fried rice. The orange chicken was by far the worst orange chicken I've ever had. There were some pieces with actual chicken inside and then I had other pieces with a harder middle and almost powdery like. And in my mouth you could feel the powder/granular substance. It was almost like a powdered donut but not the taste. It was a weird texture. Definitely not chicken. It could even be a chicken / filler combo but it was powder. I attached some pictures. My fiancé and I decided to give this place a try as we just moved to the neighborhood from forest park and Let me to tell I was surprised. 1.) We knew to order the Crab Rangoon as the reviewers on here state they are delicious and that they are right about! They were gone so quick even my two year old loved them and he's a picky eater. 2.) The Beef fried rice LG was very small and no taste It was as it if was just rice and black pepper tasting. Never had my rice so light colored with carrots. I'm from the city and let me tell you this rice was a waste of my money I really was hoping to have some good rice. 3.) The Egg roll was plain Awful it tasted as if it was freezer burnt. The stuffing in it is not what I normally have in a egg roll back in forest park and westchester I will only return back for the Crab Rangoon. This spot is sooo good!! Definitely the best take out Chinese food I've had in the area! Food came out fast, fresh, and HOT! The egg rolls were amazing. Full of flavor like nothing I've ever had but in a very good way (they had an almost nutty flavor) The pan fried pot stickers were incredible. Also ordered Lo Mein and it was very good as well!!
