    Chow fun/chow foon with beef

I recommend chow foon with beef, because it's authentic Chinese taste. Also, try beef pan fried noodle. It has variety of vegetables w/ sautéed tender beef. Pour all these on top of the dried pan noodle to soften it, delicious!

Been looking for decent egg rolls and fried rice...found them! Also got some great Crab Rangoon, ate my order in the car ride home.

Ugh! I hate leaving negative reviews. I also hate that people know a place is bad and won't tell you. I ordered via phone because Uber fees were very high. The order was correct. The food was hot. Unfortunately, when I arrived I waited for a while the staff discussed something in Chinese. It's a glass window and I was visible but not acknowledged. I ordered crab Rangoon. It was tasty. I ordered hot and sour soup. Also tasty, but not spicy. The crunchy toppings that came with it were stale. I ordered Mongolian chicken for my husband and he called it onion soup and said there was no meat. I ordered Kung Pap Tofu, there was no spice and it was the driest food I've ever eaten. Perhaps this is due to the protein being tofu. Not my fault, they need to alter the liquid ratio for this dish. It was not edible. I ordered combination fried rice. It was just, okay. The beef had a strange texture like Salisbury steak so I'm not sure what that was. I would not order from here again.

This place is pretty good - my parents have gotten it a few times, it's honestly a hit or miss. Sometimes the dishes are delicious and sometimes they're just mediocre at best. I recommend their egg rolls, sesame chicken, and beef with broccoli! Also, it's so worth it just to get a large, don't even bother with the small size. It's a few bucks more for the large and it's significantly bigger. Overall I do recommend Chopstick for some affordable Chinese food!!

Small Chinese spot in a strip mall. Family owned. Food was better than expected. My go-to is the egg drop soup. It's phenomenal.

The food was always good here, but improved service on top of the great looking interior -- and an expansive menu make this one of the spots that caters well to Americanized Chinese cuisine as well as authentic options. Even for those looking to enjoy more familiar options, the technique and ingredients used to create these dishes creates a superior product to what you'll find at a standard carryout spot. For example the sweet orange beef is extra crispy with perfectly tender beef with a sweetness that's more citrus based and not overpowering. The La Tsi chicken is fried nicely but derives much of the flavor from garlic and chilis, giving a much more complex depth of flavor without being excessively salty. The honey glazed shrimp is fried very nicely, with giant shrimp inside -- combining delicious flavor and delicious texture at the same time. For the most complex and delicious flavors, classic szechuan options like the boiled lamb in szechwan sauce and sliced beef and tripe in chili sauce are still the way to go for a masterful mix of herbs and spices. In addition, the meat is melt-in-your-mouth soft without being overly fatty. Overall, one of the best spots you'll find in the area for Chinese cuisine. If you like Bowl of Fortune or Lao Sze Chuan nearby, you'll find the food here to be just as good.

No "chef-driven experience." No $19 cocktail served under a smoke-filled glass dome by a man named Chase. Just Chinese food that tastes like somebody in the kitchen actually knows what they're doing. The dishes came out hot, properly seasoned, and with flavors that felt like they had survived several generations without being run through a suburban focus group. Rich sauces, good texture, real heat where there was supposed to be heat, and none of that timid Americanized nonsense where everything tastes vaguely sweet because somebody is afraid a customer from Barrington might encounter a spice. This is the kind of food that makes you stop talking for a minute because your mouth has more important work to do. The P.O.A. Index, however, was another matter entirely. Low. Very low. Not catastrophic. Not a federal emergency. Just the kind of room where a man quickly realizes he is here for dinner and only dinner. No distractions. No inappropriate optimism. No scanning the room like a horny air-traffic controller. Just me, a plate of excellent Chinese food, and the peaceful acceptance that romance would not be part of tonight's dining experience. And you know what? Fine. Because the food absolutely carried the evening. Asian Bistro doesn't need a nuclear P.O.A. Index. It has something rarer in Arlington Heights: A kitchen with a personality. Five stars. Great authentic Chinese food, no yuppie BS, and a P.O.A. Index low enough that I was finally able to concentrate on my dinner.

Both the service and quality of food has gone way down from what they were famous for. The waitress spilled my tea, also dipped her finger in my tea, had no apology or offer to exchange it with a fresh cup. I had to ask her for a fresh cup of tea. Then the other server that brought our entrees spilled my husbands tea and again no offering to getting a fresh cup. We had to ask AGAIN for a fresh cup! While the portions were generous, the quality of all the food has gone way down. The special family recipe of thier shrimp dish Gan Pong is nothing but fried shrimp with dried chili peppers and no flavor. The Hunan spicy beef and chicken appeared to be all globs and sticky because of excessive and over use of corn starch used during the cooking process. This dish didn't have any unique flavor that one would expect. Previously we had experienced a difference in the food, taste and quality and that's what kept us returning. Sadly, after this experience I wouldn't recommend it to anyone or come back! I'd rather stick with Yu's Mandarin than drive to this place! Quality always wins over quantity in my books!

It's been a tough lately since our go to place changed ownership and the quality declined. Hong Kong Restaurant is a small, family owned restaurant in the same strip mall as the Ace Hardware. It's a take out only restaurant, no tables and no seating. The lady is so nice. I called ahead asking how her General Tso's was made with brown sauce or if it was an orange type of sauce. She gave me a good description and mentioning it had some spice to it, but not offensive. It was exactly what my husband wanted. It wasn't overly breaded and the sauce was sweeter, savory with a little heat. He was a happy man. The fried rice had plenty of chicken and cooked well. The portions were huge! I also ordered beef and broccoli Cantonese chow mein. This was delicious! There was so much beef and broccoli, the sauce wasn't salty and went perfect with the chow mein noodles. We ordered egg rolls and crab rangoons too. Both we were good. The wrapper was a little thicker than I prefer, but they were both good. I'm looking forward to trying other dishes on their menu like their egg foo yung. No pics ... hungry teenaged boys dove into the food right away.
