I ordered from here a second time because even though we ate here a couple weeks ago, I honestly couldn't remember almost anything about the place. The one thing I could remember is that the sauce container for the sweet and sour chicken hadn't been properly closed so the sweet and sour sauce spilled on literally everything in the bag. Sadly, this second visit wasn't any better. On the plus side, the sauce wasn't spilling everywhere. In the extremely negative side, the pork fried rice we ordered had shrimp in it! What is that about?? I had hoped it was a single shrimp that maybe got included from a prior order, and then we found a second and thought all was well. But then when I went to dish some up for myself, I found several other pieces of shrimp. I checked the slip and it says pork fried rice, so I don't know what the deal is about. Given that this is the second careless order we've had from them (out of two!), the relatively expensive price point for a portion, and that it's at least a 20 minute drive each way, I'm not going to bother giving them a try again.

Nice looking little place. We tried it based on some advice from people we know. Well, it's Chinese food but not something I'm running back for. I've had worse. this was middle of the road Chinese. Dishes were decent size but a little light on the meats. Egg rolls were decent and I definitely tasted the peanut butter in them. Not as good as others in the area. Fried rice was the best dish and that was fair. Hong Kong chow fun was mostly flavorless. I really wanted to find a new place for Chinese and it's just not that place folks. For the 10 minutes longer in the car, I'll be heading back to Hong Kong Chop Suey. Sorry Munch!

Lumpia and best crab Rangoon I know of. Can't pass this place with out an order of crab .ragoom. Small family owned. Delish. .you might have to go to rehab for the addiction g crab ragoon.

Decent Chinese- had the Mongolian beef (spicy, the ratio of beef to onions was a bit heavy on the onions), Orange chicken (sweet and sticky with lots of veggies), potstickers (very plump) and the egg rolls. Have never eaten in the restaurant, just get carry out. It's our go to spot for Chinese carry out.

The old Chinese Munch Inn's I was not a fan of. They were no MSG, carrot in the fried rice guys. This is place has changed. The food is the bomb American Chinese food. Egg rolls, egg foo young, chicharron bulalak ftw. The decor is straight out of a kungfu movie. Clean, good service, cheap, best in genre greasy type food.

Egg roll solid 8.0 fried shrimp fall apart there garbage the pork fried rice fantastic 8.9

I have never tried this place but when I went to order, I noticed a convenience fee added. What is this? Is it for ordering online or credit /debit card use? I would be glad to order in person and pay cash. Can anyone explain this charge?

Convenience fees are common nowadays post Covid and current due to higher cost of food. If you want to avoid this fee, eat in or pick it up but I have to say the food here is worth it!

Went to this joint for the first time tonight for dinner with my partner…read more My son recommended their crispy pata and lumpia Shanghai, so we tried those along with their homemade siomai. My goodness, everything was so good! The crispy pata has an incredibly crispy skin, with soft, tender, and flavorful pork meat inside. We were told by the owner, Ryan, that they slow cook the meat in its own juices for 6 hours prior to deep frying it. The result is nothing short of one of the best interpretations of this favorite Filipino dish. Definitely my favorite! The lumpia is top-notch -- crispy, crunchy, and perfectly seasoned. The siomai is garlicky and delicious as well. All of this for just $32. The price is unbelievable considering the quality of food they are serving. Everything was fresh and served hot from the kitchen, unlike the typical Filipino "turo-turo" style restaurant. They also have combo meals for $12.99 all day. I have to try their lechon belly and crispy kare-kare next time. This place is truly a hidden gem! You have to try it, and you will not be disappointed. I will definitely recommend it to my friends and family. Thanks to the owner, Ryan. I think you have a winner here!

I got kung pao beef and a couple of other things. The "beef" in the kung pao was so fatty and chewy I could literally not eat it. I kept trying, but it was EVERY PIECE in the container. A total loss. I called to let the restaurant know. The woman who took the call assured me my card would be credited the amount of the item. This was outright FRAUD, as my card was never credited for this food I could not eat. She also said the manager would call me back, which also did not happen. Bad enough the food was inedible, but blatantly lying to me was way over the line. The rest of the items were on the bland side, and I'm not sure if I would have come back. But after what happened, I'm avoiding this place like the plague. I cannot afford to literally throw my money in the garbage.

To clear things up about their dining area, they have 2 small tables outside and 1 small and 2 big tables inside. Small tables - 2 chairs. Big tables - 4 chairs. On weekdays, you don't need to make a reservation. On the weekends due to their limited dine in area, I would recommend a reservation to be safe. You can make a reservation through Google/Yelp or phone call. Parking is easy since it's in a strip mall. There is also a 3% charge if you use plastic. Just a note, I tried looking at their food pictures on their website, but it kind of runs slow. Sometimes it would freeze. I think they need to fix it. I would return here to try other items. I would highly recommend ordering off their Malaysian menu instead of the miscellaneous. Don't order orange chicken or General Tao's chicken. Very cringe because you can get that literally anywhere. Get the Malaysian food because it's hard to find in Illinois. The owner is very sweet and the service is attentive. We ordered lor bak, nasi lemak, Hainanese chicken rice, hokkien mee, and kuih talam. Just a FYI, the portions are very generous. For 2 people, I would recommend ordering 2 dishes. Prices are reasonable for what you get. A pot of tea is $6. -lor bak 5 - I highly recommend this appetizer. It has crispy pork sausage with shrimp fritters, beancurd, and cucumber. It comes with two sauces. Everything was delicious. -nasi lemak 5 - I love the chicken rendang. The meat is very tender and it has a deep flavor. You can taste the spices that went into it. -Hainanese chicken rice 3.5 - I gave Penang Malaysian Cuisine a 4 because the rice was delicious. HD's version, the rice was not as moist and flavorful. The chicken was not bad, it's about the same as Penang's. It could be a bit more succulent without the sauces. -hokkien mee 4 - this won't be as tasty as in Malaysia. I liked the big pieces of shrimp, an adequate amount of sliced pork and hard boiled egg. The broth is still very good. If it's your first time having this, I still recommend it. -kuih talam 5 - I would suggest this if you like pandan. It's not sweet. It has a soft and bouncy texture.

They dont have set hours when of when they close, so if they run out of food you miss you. So get there early. It was only 1230pm and they were already out of several dishes. I'm nervous about this review, because I'm pretty confident I'm not the right person to write this…read more Let me start by stating up front that I am not now, nor have I ever been, Filipino. This is the first and only Filipino restaurant I've ever eaten at, so I don't claim to have a great frame of reference. Let me also add that I've eaten here five or six times, and to this day I have no idea what I've ordered. But it's soooo good. Everything I've ever had from Salamat Po has been amazing. So I want to speak to people like me who don't know Filipino cuisine- get in there and try it, you'll be glad you did. I generally go there for lunch, which begins with me standing patiently behind several people who clearly know what it is they're ordering, and they're ordering lots of it. While I'm waiting, I stare at everything in the glass case, and usually something new slides out of the kitchen. I might be wrong about this, but I think the food has been different every time I've been there. When I get to the counter, the server always helpfully tells me the name of whatever dish I'm pointing at, but I'm fairly hopeless when it comes to learning these things. The gentleman today was happy to let me sample anything I wanted, but by the time I got up there my heart was already set on something- a beef stew that wound up tasting as good as it looked, tender and flavorful, in an absolutely perfect broth. I also picked up some sort of fried, salted cinnamon plantain dessert that I'll be dreaming about for the next few nights. I found the portion size to be excellent, with a healthy helping of stew on a bed of rice- more than enough to fill me up for lunch and still have a few bites to share with a co-worker. There are still some things I'm looking forward to trying there- the dessert case has some glorious-looking puddings I need to get next time (unless they have those plantain desserts again), and there's a fish entree I've seen a few times that's been calling my name. Just a note for my fellow eaters new to Filipino food- bring your sense of adventure and an open mind. You'll find some flavors, textures and- let's be honest- some parts you're not used to. Try a few samples, and I'm sure you'll find a new favorite.

The Tocino was a little different from what I'm used to. I'm used to a slab of pork pan fried with the fat fried to a slight crunch lol. I'm also used to tocino being red in color. I guess the tocino here is a little more leaner and no artificial colors - which works for me as I'm kinda allergic to red dye. But it tasted good, very flavorful. Loved the garlic rice as well. Pancit noodles were okay - could have used a little more seasoning but I could dig it Calamansi wings were low key fire. The crisp of the wings were perfection and the meat was not tough - still nice and juicy. I would get these again.
