I heard that this was a beloved food court restaurant and they have now grown to a full-sized location in a strip mall. I've never been to their food court, so I think I'm coming in without bias or expectation, hopefully. We quickly figured out how this place works. It's counter service and you grab a seat anywhere and they'll buzz you when the food is ready (that food court pedigree!). The menu contains the most common grilled meats and some/most combinations can be served with rice or as a bibimbap or in a fried rice or in a japchae. It looks like they do a lot of takeout business as well. The food came out in stages. I guess they want us to experience fresh off the line. They handed the buzzer back to me with each partial service and it undoubtedly went back off every time I finish setting the food down. The food is fresh and tasty. I like that it's unabashedly serving grilled meats cause that's really what I want and this is nice, simple, and unfussy.

Had the chicken and rice with salad. Everything was delicious and super fresh! Would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a healthy and fresh lunch or dinner.

The servers kept passing by our table and going to other tables even when we notified them we needed a server. I started with the Screwkiss Cocktail and my guy had the Melona Cocktail. Considering they had whole popsicles in them, it wasn't surprising they were on the sweeter side. However, mine took forever and a half to melt; I even had to use a spoon to try and mash it faster. Fun drink, but wouldn't get it again. The complimentary bean sprout soup was light and refreshing. We started with the Stir-Fried Chicken Gizzards. It was much more rough/tough than expected. It was my first time having it and I liked the flavor, but the texture was mehh. My guy said he's always had gizzards that were softer and preferred it like that. The Beef Brisket with Mung Bean Sprout was really good! My favorite dish for sure! It was perfectly cooked and flavored and definitely a 5/5 for me. I got a side of Glass Noodles to eat with it, but I didn't like these noodles. Glass noodles are one of my fave noodles normally. The Army Stew with Ramen Noodles was good, but the flavor was pretty monotonous so it got boring fast. Their kimchi was okay and I wish it didn't have some of the ingredients like the pepperoni. We got a side order of Tteokbokki and it was a really great choice with this dish!

The appetizers were a highlight, unique and bursting with flavor from a perfect spice blend. Not too spicy at all, just the right amount of kick to keep things exciting. The mains delivered that classic tangy, savory twist I love in Korean BBQ. The beef and pork came sliced super thin and tender, melting in your mouth. The grill was a touch oilier than I'm used to (probably to keep the meat from sticking), but it bother me slightly although most people would probably enjoy it. All in all, a real gem with great flavors and a relaxed atmosphere. I'll definitely be back to try more items and bring friends or family along.

We've got been twice so far and both times we're very satisfied overall with all the food. The second time the un- marinated brisket seemed like it was cut a little too thin or the grill was a little too hot, so there was more sticking to the grill than expected but overall everything still tasted really good great kimchi, great potato salad, lots of veggies, lots of flavor. Soda wise they have Pepsi if that impacts your restaurant choice.

However, the price was a bit much for this I'd say. Beef tartar: 3 of 5 As there was nothing to special to it. Wouldn't get it a second time. I'd say the trip was disappointing for our party of 5 and what we got didn't match the quality of other gopchang restaurants in LA. For me who did not eat intestines I'd say it's a 3 of 5 place, but I'd say the value for the intestines based on what my party ate was more of a 2 of 5 as it was mostly grease that overwhelmed everything with no meaningful way to reduce it. Service was a good 4 of 5, but not as attentive at times.

For the 5 of us, we ordered the double portion of large intestines, beef tartar, and the bulgogi hotpot. The presentation of food initially was great. I've been to gopchang restaurants in Koreatown in Los Angeles and in Korea. I have not been to one that cooks gopchang in a grill with no outlet for oil drainage. For something greatly oily, it felt uncomfortable seeing it cook in an abundance of its own oil. The restaurant's lackluster solution to all of this oil was to dunk in large pieces of bread to soak it up. This not only looked very unappetizing but was not a successful solution. Additionally, letting the gopchang cook in its own oil, left the gopchang to be "fried" crisp and hard. The bulgogi hotpot had a good amount of meat and vegetables, but was way too sweet. They gave a small bowl of chive salad to a group of 5 of us to share, which we were each able to get very small portions of. They charge extra if you want more chive salad. Overall, a very disappointing experience, could not recommend.

The soups come in big bowl-like containers so you can eat straight out of them; the banchan is usually kimchi, braised potatoes and a spicy odeng/fishcake; and everything is packed pretty well in the sense that nothing has ever spilled! What we got: Kimchi pancake - This one isn't too spicy! Our kids really like it from here. Chadol salad - One of our go-to orders! The meat usually has a great smoky flavor that pairs so well with the salad, which is slightly sweet and tangy. It's like you get to enjoy bbq without having to grill it yourself. Grilled mackerel - Our kids usually love this. It's like slightly crispy on the outside while the meat is tender and juicy. Mandugguk - So flavorful! It's almost like they use galbitang broth! It comes with rice cakes and egg, so if you have an egg allergy then maybe this recipe isn't for you. But as one of the few non-spicy dishes this was a winner for our kids. What we've gotten in the past: Gamjatang - This is pretty spicy. It's almost like yookgyejang spicy. We've had others before that were mild and super flavorful, but this one is just so-so to us.
