We pass by Cupbop Jangin often and didn't make the trip out here until a friend wanted to try it out. The restaurant is very casual-order at the counter, find a table, and food is brought out to you. There is plenty of seating inside the restaurant. Hubby and I ordered the popcorn chicken cupbop and the beef cupbop and shared it between ourselves and our child. Each cupbop also comes with a beverage of choice. I preferred the beef over the chicken but the chicken was on the dry side. Portions are large and it also comes with a lot of rice. We were full after our meal and still had a lot of rice leftover in our cupbops. We also shared a cheese tteokbokki which was mediocre. The flavor was just okay and the sauce was too liquidy for my taste. Overall, service is kind and this place is good for a quick bite. I'd probably stick to the cupbops if we came back in the future. read more

Both chickens were dry unfortunately. Dumpling were crispy and white rice was acceptable. Tteokbokki sauce was watery but the rice cakes were cooked fine. Service was good and friendly. We were looking for quick dinner before our appointment nearby and decided on korean food. This restaurant was pretty big, food tastes fresh, and quick. We ordered at the kiosk, otherwise there's someone at the counter that can take your order. Restaurant was well lit and clean. They have a snack section on the side for purchase. The Best Cutlet place is gone, but in its place is Cupbop Jangin. This is a busy strip mall in Glenview, although there is plenty of parking. This opened recently and there was one family dining in. It's bright with about six or seven tables, and it feels very airy and open. Cupbop is served in a "cup," a base of seasoned glass noodles , rice and lettuce and topped with protein and sauce. There are endless iterations of tofu, pork, chicken, beef, shrimp, etc. They also serve ramen, tteokbokki, corn dogs, and have a corner with Asian snacks for sale. I ordered a Cupbop with pork and shrimp tempura and my companions ordered crispy tofu and chicken. We all ordered mild sauce. We waited about 10 minutes and this was served not in a cup but an enormous bowl. It was piled pretty high with our proteins (pork and tofu were delicious), the glass noodles were garlicky flavored and it was delicious. The bowls are kinda pricey but you get a lot of food. We all ended up taking our food home. The Cupbops were so tasty. The service, however, needs some refining. The employee was listening to some entertainment very loud and was more interested in that than in helping customers. I know how to use a kiosk but kept getting an error when I tried to add items to the cart. Finally I asked them about how to add Ramune to the cart and she said, you add the drinks separately. After failing at that I asked if they could just take my order and I was told all orders were done at the kiosk. Five minutes later (Spongebob SquarePants narrator), we finally figured it out and placed the order. Needless to say, all of our other encounters with them we were still treated quite brusquely and coldly. When we asked for a plastic bag, they merely pointed at a table (in the front, with napkins, to-go lids, cups and water). I would suggest having a small portion for lunch. My three Cupbops was over $70 (with tax and gratuity). The food was delicious and I would come back again but I did feel that the employee would rather have had an empty shop to watch their media. read more

The facility is comforting, inviting. Plenty of areas for seating. There was no other guest in the dining area. We ordered our food and I ran to the washroom. There was two empty rolls of toilet paper and an almost empty one sitting on top of those two. The food came out relatively quickly and we were quite shocked by the size. We ordered 1 chicken and shrimp and the other beef and pork with mild sauce. To me, that mild was way spicy. I ate what I could and what I did eat was delicious. This is a bowl that keeps on giving lol. Bottom filled with rice, then noodles, then lettuce, then meat, veggies and sauce as well as dumplings. Very good, but spicy... They had some great soothing music playing and after an hour and a half drive that was nice. Unfortunately that didn't last long as the employee behind the counter was enjoying a show on the mobile device and it was at a high volume. Seriously unprofessional. Maybe invest in some headphones. Stopped in here after work the other day, and after eating, I don't get how no one was there! I got the beef cupbop that was $16.99 and came with a drink! I typically go for the beef/bulgogi when I try new Korean places because that usually is the teller if a Korean spot is good and this beef cupbop was soooo flavorful!!! The cupbop had white rice, japchae noodles, lettuce, broccoli, carrots, 2 dumplings, beef, and was topped with the medium sauce and something like a sriracha aioli. There was also mild and hot choices for sauce too. Staff was nice! There is a corner where you can buy different Korean snacks and drinks as well. Lots of parking! Reminded me of the original Cupbop I went to in Utah! read more

We saw them prepping last week making the final touches on the restaurant launch. And was excited to come back this week after opened. The owner was very nice, explained how the restaurant is the second one, the first being in Naperville. His loyal customers in the Ville always said it they wanted one in the North shore so he decided to open one here in downtown Glenview! The menu seems large, but mostly variations of a Cupbop. Took me a while to figure out what I'd want since there were some good choices. He suggested the chicken and beef combination. I opted for pork after a little bit of wrestling back and forth with my decision. The portion is really good, a big container, makes two meals for my own appetite. Was pleasantly surprised by the chapchae in the under layers. The pork on top of lettuce, on top of chapchae, on top of rice. The sauces I had on the side, level two spicy was plenty spicy for me, a very unique taste that I'm still trying to figure out (salty, umami, and the rice spice level). The spicy mayo was excellent very nice and a tonkatsu kind of sauce as well. If I had mixed it all together I would be really satisfied with all the flavors going on. Pork was fantastic , a good char, marinated with so much flavor - I'm glad I had the pork. We'll need to come back for another round. They also have tteopbokki and kimbap and some noodle soups like ramen and udon. I'd imagine the food to be most excellent and a great addition to the Glenview area. read more

My first impression of this place and service was not good so I highly doubt I'll be back. I walked in and I was the only customer in the establishment. The lady at the front was watching a show on her tablet full blast, didn't stop to greet me or explain how things worked. She never paused her show or turned it down. I felt like I was inconveniencing her but yet I was here so I was going to order. I eventually figured out to order on the kiosk. Even though it says cupbop those are some huge bowls. I ordered two to go the beef and the chicken cupbops. The wait time was short as I was the only one there. The only time the lady interacted with me was to tell me I was reaching into the wrong cooler to grab the water. So terrible service but also the food was subpar. Even though it is a huge bowl the lettuce portion is what makes up most of it. The sauce they put on the side was not enough for the bowl sized portions. Bad service plus just okay food. My kids and I were a little surprised and somehow sad when we found out that Best Cutlet was replaced. We were curious about what replaced it and ordered take out from Cupbop Jangin one evening. We tried: SHRIMP TEMPURA ROLL, BEEF & SHRIMP TEMPURA COMBO, PORK & CHICKEN COMBO, and BEEF RAMEN. The shrimp tempura roll was just ok. The beef ramen was probably better if it was not take out because by the time we were going to eat it at home, the broth already absorbed the noodles. Maybe next time we'll either dine-in or request for the broth to be in a separate container from the noodles. For the rice bowls, the servings were huge. Under the protein, there were 3 layers: lettuce, japchae, and rice. The japchae was a tad salty though but the beef, pork, and chicken were tasty. The shrimp tempura got soggy, so this would be better for dine-in as well. We'll try other dishes for dine-in next time. I wish Cupbob Jangin the best and I hope some day, they can incorporate the Best Cutlet dishes as well. Good luck! read more

We had walked in the day after their first day of opening. The menu seems extensive, but it is just various combinations of similar toppings over rice and japchae. The portion size was decent, the bowl was filled with iceberg lettuce. The flavors tasted like they were smoked on a grill but probably reheated on a stove. Each entree comes with a drink- that is not specified on the menu. I'm not sure if I would come back as I feel like I could and do make something like this at home already. read more

Wanted to try something new and away from our usual strip of Korean restaurants (see Milwaukee Ave) and arrived at Cupbop, tucked away in a Glenview strip mall. The restaurant was quiet and had coffee shop like vibes, quite different from the usual KPop blasting in the background environment at similar joints. The entrees were pricey but portions were big. While it wasn't anything to write home about, we did appreciate the nice light char on the pork in our cupbop and the kimbap rolls were good. The only house staff member was pretty disengaged but overall it goes into the calm nature of the place. It was worth a try but not sure if we'd settle for this anytime soon. I just think we'd drive the extra few minutes to the options over on Milwaukee Ave in the future. Overall, not bad, 3.5-8 stars. read more

Amazing cupbop- huge portions for the price you pay. Kimbap can be hard to get right, but they nailed it with the tuna one. Relatively new store, along with it being in the corner, makes it pretty empty. A nice place for introverts since you have to make basically no human contact. Pretty chill place overall. read more
